Tiny fiery-throated hummingbird totem handmade from polymer clay.
The fiery-throated hummingbird, Panterpe insignis, is a hummingbird from Costa Rica and Panama. From one angle the bird's plumage looks dark and metallic yellow-green. When the light reflects off their feathers in just the right way their feathers explode with color. Their throat turns bright red and yellow, their bellies and heads turn bright blue. This fiery-throated hummingbird was painted to look as though the feathers are just starting to reflect their bright colors.
The hummingbird has been sold, but I have other creatures for sale here.
