🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate
I don't hate any of the main characters so I had to go down the characters in the show that I really hate and those characters most people don't like either! Point is this was difficult but here we go...
3 Good Things About Pam Burkhart
-She didn't stand in the way of letting Bob and Midge try to give their relationship a chance in season 7
-Her being there gave us a very funny, if not OOC, storyline in Squeezebox. It doesn't fit Red or Hyde's characters at all but it's still one of the funnier episodes that season.
-For the most part she seemed really nice to Bob.
Thanks for the question @those70scomics ! It was a thinker!

1974. Terrible Advice.
Jackie is selling Girl Scout cookies at church, when Pam pulls her over to the side.
Pam: Making your own money is fun, and rewarding. *Lowering her voice* Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...or the wallet.
Jackie: But what if he's ugly?
Pam: It helps if he's a silver fox, like your dad.
Jackie: Eww!

Dylan, how do you feel about your grandma Pam?
Dylan: Don't tell my mom, but I don't really like grandma Pam. She makes my mom sad, and I've heard dad calling her a bitch to uncle Eric the other day, so I know that he doesn't really like her. And if dad doesn't like someone, then I don't like that person either, because dad's cool, and mom says we should always trust him.
Grandma Kitty doesn't like grandma Pam either. She told me and Jordan that grandma Pam is floozy and selfish and that we shouldn't listen to the things she says. I never listen to the stuff she says anyways, she's kind of boring.
I don't like seeing mom sad, so I want grandma Pam to go away, but I can't tell her that because then mom would get mad at me.
~
Carol(me): Pam is a big topic on the TSG sequel, so you just heard from 8-year old Dylan, because I don't want to let out any spoilers for now.

If you’re still doing it, then A and 5
You've selected A5 = Angry Jackie.
Jackie's anger can be intense. Sometimes she's speaks directly about it. Other times, she's passive-aggressive and/or manipulative. Sometimes, she just hits, pinches, or kicks the person she's anger at (like a child who never learned impulse control; as Hyde said, "She used to bite.")
In the early seasons (when she dates Kelso), she gets angry when people try to tell her the truth about how bad Kelso is for her. She becomes defense because she's so protective of her relationship with him. This doesn't stop her from being with Kelso, of course, when he disappoints her or burns down her living room.
Her anger at Hyde in season 5 is often due to unrealistic expectations (except toward the end of the season when Hyde effs up majorly). Or when Hyde acts intractable about reasonable requests of hers (this happens in seasons 6 and 7, too).
I wish Jackie would've been allowed to be angry at her mom for more than one episode in season 6. She goes get annoyed at her mom a few times, but her mom abandoned her for three months, according to the show over a year, leaving her without a guardian or a way of feeding herself -- the latter which came from the family's bankruptcy, which teenage Jackie was left to deal with.
\This was neither right nor a realistic situation. Jackie is a non-emancipated minor when this happens. Social services would have come in, found Jackie's next adult next-of-kin (an aunt, uncle, grandparent, etc.) who would've been made responsible for the family problems.
I could go on, but I'll end this post with a somewhat frightening depiction of a purple-haired, angry Jackie (she happens to be angry at me):

Pam: All of Jackie's snacks are organic.

You think Jackie's relationship with Pam was always the same?
It depends on the Pam we are talking about.
Season 1 Pam: I think Jackie admires her and would want to be like her to some degree. She stills seems to be an absent parent, but at least the way she talks during that one episode we saw her, she didn’t seem mean and rude as the other Pam would.
I don’t think their relationship would had been that bad, but again: still an absent mother.
Season 6 Pam: She’s a mess. She abandoned Jackie and uses people like objects, not to mention she’s empty and shallow, and Jackie probably doesn’t ant to end up like her. She may be beautiful and have half the world solved to her feet because of that, but she’s so not what Jackie has become at this point and so not what she may want to be.
The fact that Pam abandoned her and treated her like crap when she came back is also a strong reason for Jackie to be mad at her, so I think maybe their relationship was always not so good.

I wouldn’t be surprised if both episodes turn out to have been written by other guys. Man tend to forget their shows are also seen by women and other people with decency who don’t see women as objects.
The Pam Burkhart arc was just plain ridiculous and bad written. Not only for Hyde and Red going after Pam but Pam herself. Remember how in season 1 she was a working woman, even chubby and even cute? It’s sad the writers left that version of Pam become in the hypersexualized woman of season 6.
Brooke Shields IS and will always be a beautiful woman, a sex symbol if you want, but they let go of a good guest star that could had been a better character. I don’t know…
Or they could let Hyde be in character and tell her to fuckoff after she ABANDONED his girlfriend. He gave her his bed when she left her! Why was he lusting after her too? It makes no sense! I hate when they hurt Hyde’s characterization like this! That’s why he becomes the monster of season 8.
FOR REAL, @ BAD WRITTEN HYDE:

Hi! I'm the anon about Jackie's parents. Yeah I guess I was thinking more in the line of those occasional fics that put special focus on the money status, so one of her parents is like "oh, you better not mix with that scoundrel Hyde! That penniless lowlife with no future!" To which I always think "Dude... Isn't Hyde a business owner with a rich family now? How is that a scoundrel with no future?" But yeah it's definitely plausible that they'd have hostility stemming from other things lol
Hyde dresses like a "poor person", he uses sunglasses indoors, he's always with his arms crossed, scowling at something/someone, and he's not afraid of telling people that he doesn't give a shit. This is what made Jackie dislike him in the first season, and this is most definitely the main reason why Pam and Jack would not like him.
I mean... C'mon, they raised Jackie. She thought she was superior to other people because she literally grew up listening to that, her parents taught her a lot of fucked up stuff. They value money above everything else.
Their behavior could change drastically when they find out that Hyde actually comes from money. It could change for the better, it could change for the worse, but that's open to interpretation, lol.
I still think a in-character Hyde would tell them to fuck off.

Isn't weird that Jackie's mother was a working woman in season 1 and i kind of thought she was normal and living mother to her but suddenly season 5 came and since then jackie started telling othets about her mom being in Mexico and also somwhere else and being a alcoholic and not a very good mother to her
See this post:. :D
