A San Antonio-area resident accused of engaging in the practice of law without a license via social media and the internet won’t be able to offer any legal advice or prepare court documents for the foreseeable future.
A judge on Wednesday granted a permanent injunction that prevents Converse’s Dalles Wielenga, who goes by the online moniker Malibu Dallas, and his company from “engaging in the general practice of law for ‘clients’ for a fee.”
The ruling came six weeks after a Texas Supreme Court committee sued Wielenga, 47, and his company, Truth Hurtz Consulting, alleging they have regularly posted videos on social media offering advice on how to take on Child Protective Services.
The Supreme Court’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee accused Wielenga of soliciting customers by various means, including videos on TikTok and YouTube, for the purpose of then charging them for preparing legal documents and giving legal consultations.
Representing himself at a Tuesday court hearing before state District Judge Christine Hortick, Wielenga opposed the committee’s efforts to clamp down on his livelihood.
“I do not practice law,” Wielenga said.
“I provide educational value as a certified ADA advocate. … I have no intent of practicing law without a license. I never have and I never will. My intent is to educate, to inform in a legal, lawful way through publicly acceptable forms.”
He doesn’t offer any legal documents or consultations via his website, he added.
Wielenga asked the court to deny the committee’s motion, saying there was “no ongoing, imminent danger,” noting that the nine TikTok videos cited in the committee’s lawsuit have been taken down.
Pedro Webber, a San Antonio lawyer representing the committee, countered that a “showing of a violation is enough to grant injunctive relief.”
“I believe that we have shown the violations of the law,” he added. Videos
Hortick questioned Wielenga under oath about whether his videos were still accessible online.
He responded that all the video links referenced in an exhibit attached to the lawsuit no longer work and “have not been viewed by the public since mid-2024.”
A San Antonio Express-News reporter viewed at least one of the TikTok videos late last month, though it’s no longer accessible.
In the video, which was played in court, Wielenga asked followers about the value of the knowledge shared.
“Is my time and knowledge and experience inside of the legal advocacy arena in regards to CPS and family court issues not valuable to you?” Wielenga said in the May 2023 TikTok video.
“Am I not worthy of being paid for my time and my knowledge and experience even though myself has been a victim of child trafficking?”
The video goes on to mention people on TikTok advertising their weight-loss services and charging thousands of dollars monthly.
“My consultation to help you gain understanding of how the legal system works and in court and try to get you to think about your case differently is $45 for an hour to help you gain knowledge in regards to getting your children back,” Wielenga said.
Wielenga then said numerous people say, in a mimicking voice, “Well, you claim to be a legal advocate. I don’t know… your experience and all this other kind of stuff. You know, you claim to be wanting to help people but you’re charging for your services.”
Wielenga has more than 400,000 followers on TikTok.
In a statement outlining his inability to afford to pay court costs, Wielenga reported earning $2,500 a month as a self-employed advocate.
The committee launched an investigation into Wielenga after receiving a complaint from Angela Jourdain, a licensed professional counselor in Killeen.
In a May 15, 2024, affidavit, she reported that Wielenga charged for services and advised two individuals to “declare sovereign and to not participate in the court.”
One was later incarcerated for two months, leading to further action by Colorado child protective services, Jourdain said.
“I have received several contacts through tik tok claiming damage from this man but they will not report him because of his large, aggressive following,” Jourdain said in the affidavit.
Wielenga filed a motion Monday essentially asking the court to disregard Jourdain’s affidavit on various grounds.
That motion was not taken up at Tuesday’s hearing, however.
San Antonio attorney Amirra Dittfurth conducted the investigation of Wielenga and Truth Hurtz.
She has been a volunteer investigator for the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee for seven years, conducting about 20 investigations over that span.
She said she sent a letter to Wielenga informing him of the investigation, but he didn’t respond.
Dittfurth testified there were “hundreds” of videos posted online by Wielenga.
“There were about nine that clearly violate our rules,” she said. Self-published books
Besides the online videos, Wielenga also sells self-published books — with such titles as “How to Beat CPS & Win” and “The Constitutional Protector Against CPS” — on the Stan Store, an ecommerce website.
He describes himself on the site as an advocate and author, but adds “No legal advice, not a lawyer.”
At the end of the court hearing, Wielenga made one additional request of the judge.
“I would like the court to take notice that I still have a right to earn a living,” he said.
“Therefore, my published books that I self-publish, I would like the court to recognize that that is different, and that I still have the ability to advertise and sell my books.”
The committee’s lawsuit didn’t specifically mention the books.
Wielenga on Tuesday posted a 16-second TikTok video, a portion of it filmed in front of the Bexar County Courthouse.
He didn’t say anything in the video, but it started with the caption, “Texas trying to silence me for how many reasons?” Ensuing captions said, “Exposing corruption, ‘Advocating’ and ‘Teaching truth.’

“Advice is given to consumers on how to appear in Court, what to argue in Court, and to claim to be ‘sovereigns’ so they can excused from participation in court proceedings,” the complaint adds.
