The Princess Bride is such a funny book to read after ONLY seeing the movie. Like Goldman made up a fake author from a fake country and proceeded to write the book as an abridged version of what the fake author wrote... and then he proceeds to add in notes to the "abridged version" mentioning all the boring world building stuff he skipped because it was boring.

Like shout out to William Goldman, man really did make an entire book that is just "the cool scenes you thought of in your head" and then made up a fake author to abridge so he doesn't have to connect them.

It's not, like, the biggest example of media where you had to be there to really get it, but I feel like André the Giant's turn as Fezzik in The Princess Bride loses something if you didn't experience the sheer weirdness of him being arguably the most famous professional wrestler in the world at the time. Like, this isn't a case of a retired wrestler transitioning into acting years later – the dude literally headlined at WrestleMania III the same year The Princess Bride hit theatres. The contrast between his wrestling persona and his character in the film was intensely surreal.

This scene has probably been one of the most requested ones since I started doing these Muppet Princess Bride illustrations, but I held off attempting it for the longest time because I had no idea if I could pull off Miss Piggy's famous karate chop, and the shot of Kermit falling down the hill. But after hunkering down and putting pen to (digital) paper I managed to get something I'm pretty proud of!

Honestly, I'd love to see Muppet Princess Bride become a reality if only because I wanna see them huck Kermit down a hill. Muppets being thrown is peak comedy to me.
