Idk if you've cast Gonzo yet, but I would love to see him as Miracle Max and Camila as Valerie
That's my preferred casting as well! I have a drawing started but then got sidetracked by other things, but I'll get back to it eventually

As a fan of Jim Henson’s works (specifically The Dark Crystal), The Princess Bride *and* Muppet Classic Theatre being some of my favourites, I adore this crossover!! I want this to be real so badly, honestly the ONLY Princess Bride remake I’d accept 😂
Fun fact, my family loves The Princess Bride as well, and we named our golden doodle Fezzik! I think it fits him really well 💖
Aww, what a beautiful pupper! And such a majestic photo of him! I'm hopelessly naive, but I like to think that if enough people show their love for Muppet Princess Bride that Disney might actually listen. Stranger things have happened, right? So if any of ya'll out there have thought about making your own Muppet Princess Bride art, please do it! Maybe someone with the right connections will see it and make some magic happen? Also I'd just love to see other folks' take on the concept, there's so many ways you can cast Muppet Princess Bride that are just waiting to be explored (Not to mention other mediums too!). The more Muppet Princess Bride art, the better!

New Muppet Princess Bride drawing! I know some folks will want Fozzie to have a way bigger role in Muppet Princess Bride, but honestly I feel like the role of Yellin is perfect for Fozzie. This line in particular is already so very Fozzie, I can hear him saying it so clearly in my head. Fun fact, I had to redraw the second panel because for some reason in my memory it was Westley that gave Fezzik the order to rip Yellin's arms off. I almost wish I left it, just because the idea of dear sweet Kermit asking for arms to be ripped off is kinda hilarious to me.

My mom is the biggest Muppets fan ever. And the princess Bride is my favorite movie. Therefore, a family favorite, lol. I showed her all your work on the Muppets princess bride, and she said, "I gotta get in touch with her and tell her i love them!" So this is me, telling you my mom and I love these so much. You are so talented! We love them! Can't wait to see more!
Aww thank you both so much! I'm having an off night so this message helped cheer me up. I will hopefully have a new set of drawings released soonish, I'm currently battling a bit of perfectionism over them but I think I am slowly getting somewhere!

Bunson: Welcome to Pit of Despair Labs!
I might need to use this, I know I want Bunsen and Beaker in the Pit of Despair but I keep overthinking what to do with their dialogue! (Also apologies for the late reply, and apologies to folks waiting on the next Muppet Princess Bride drawing. The last few months have been a hectic mess of ceiling wasps/various plumbing issues so I've been having trouble focusing on creative pursuits. But hopefully things'll start settling down soon!)

More Muppet Princess Bride art! The last time I posted a Pepe/Kermit scene an Instagram user (jprmiller) wrote this hypothetical bit of dialogue in the comments, and it was too good not to turn into a full illustration. It's lines like this that have me fully convinced that an actual Muppet Princess Bride remake needs to happen one day, because it sometimes takes very little tweaking to make a perfectly Muppetified version of a Princess Bride quote.
Also, it wasn't until drawing this scene that I realised I totally forgot to give Pepe Inigo's scars... but then I kinda felt like that worked in a fun way... Maybe Pepe spends the entire movie talking about his backstory and showing off his "scars," but no one can see them. But he insists they're there, and they make him look really cool, okay?

I've finally finished my next Youtube tutorial, this time making a prop version of the poisoned peach that sends Sarah to Jareth's ball. While I can't guarantee following this tutorial will get you a dance with the Goblin King himself, at least you'll feel like you're in the running. Please check out the video to see me turn a generic Styrofoam peach into something that looks like you just plucked it out of the junkyard of a magical man who stole your baby brother.

One of my earliest Labyrinth prop replica projects was making Hoggle's fairy sprayer, as seen in the very beginning of Labyrinth. Redoing projects is always a really nice ego-boost, as I get to directly contrast where I came from with where I am now. And safe to say, I'm really happy with this new version of my Hoggle sprayer. Not just in terms of the actual prop rebuild, but in regards to the photos of the build itself!
My sprayer was built using a balloon pump, various cardboard tubes, a copious amount of wood filler, foam spheres, and sculpey clay. The backdrop bricks were made out of pink insulation foam, the "Dirt" are two yoga mats covered in alternating layers of glue and sand, and the fairies were actually just one fairy that I photographed over and over (Who's wings were made out of iridescent film ironed over wire, which were glued to a spherical LED light). I'm a bit crunched for time today so I'm not gonna include a write-up on the construction of the sprayer, but feel free to click the "Keep Reading" to see the very un-glamourous "Behind the scenes" picture of this particular photoshoot.

Here's my latest Muppet Princess Bride drawing! There's some roles in the Princess Bride that seem like they were tailor-made for a Muppet version, like Statler and Waldorf as the Ancient Booer. I knew I wanted them in this role, but it took me ages to figure out a good line for them. Shout-out to my friends for helping me workshop the dialogue for this one (Special shout-out to Jen Yates of Epbot for easing my mind that I was on the right track with this joke to begin with).
Piggy of course, would normally not take this kind of trash talk lying down, but she is a professional actress who wouldn't dream of breaking character on set... that's what she claims anyways.

PLEASE make Statler and Waldorf in the roles of the kid and his grandpa.
Okay that would be pretty hilarious, and now you have me wondering which one would be the kid and which one would be the grandpa? In my imaginary adaptation I have them cast as the Ancient Booer, it's just too perfect for Statler and Waldorf (you probably wouldn't even have to pay them to play the role, they'd gladly heckle for free).

Kermit: Where am I?
Beaker: Mi mimi mi. Mi mi mi mimi mi mi.
Kermit: That told me nothing.
Love this, I can totally picture this in their voices! (And I'm glad we're on the same page with Bunsen and Beaker being the assistants in the Pit of Despair)!

This might be yet another "This is funny mostly for me and me alone" set of drawings, but I was re-watching Princess Bride and this exchange between Westley and Inigo felt like a pretty natural fit for my Muppet version so I had to draw it out. I'd love to see how they'd handle a Muppet Westley/Inigo sword fight, you could always play it for laughs but it would also be really cool to see it played straight.

(Whoops, I totally forgot to post these pics to Tumblr yesterday, please pretend I totally posted this on Labyrinth's birthday shhhh) I'm very excited to celebrate Labyrinth's anniversary with my latest Labyrinth prop replica, a 3D printed version of the Jareth statue that appears in Sarah's bedroom. This was a project many months in the making, I have lost count of how long it took me to model the initial sculpt in Blender, but I had been working on it on-and-off since last year. It took about 2 weeks to try and figure out how to cut the pieces for printing, then a whopping 80-ish hours to get it all printed. Blood, sweat, and tears were indeed poured into this project, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pulling my hair out at times, but it feels really great to see the finished piece. I had hand-sculpted a version of the Jareth statue years ago and it's crazy to see how much of an improvement I was able to make.
Shout-out to Laszlo (Labyrinth_Darkcrystal on Instagram) who had shared some images of the original newspaper clippings that appear on Sarah's vanity in the film, which I printed out and used as part of my backdrop. Sarah also has a picture of her Mom on her vanity, I wasn't able to get the same picture used in the film so I thought it'd be fun to use a shot of Jennifer Connelly instead. You can only barely make it out in the photos, but regardless I like knowing that it's there.
Here's a few extra "Making of" photos. Since this was 3D printing it boils down to "Print, process, and paint!". I sculpted Jareth in Blender, then printed him on my Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. He was painted up with various Tamiya paints as a base coat, drybrushed and detailed, and then sealed with a semi-gloss sealant.

Last year I bought the Vixen by Micheline Pitt rendition of Sarah's blouse and vest, and I knew eventually I'd have to get over my camera shyness to do a photoshoot with it. Luckily for me the wonderful Megan Shickard of Megan's Marvelous Photography was up to the task of corralling me in said photoshoot.
And ya'll let me tell you, I was an absolute mess that day. First off, it turns out I'm allergic to wig glue! I had to frantically run out and get some allergy meds while asking Megan if we could move the photo session to a later time (Which she so kindly did). BUT THEN, I completely goofed up and mis-remembered the time of our new photoshoot, and only realised my mistake when Megan was very kindly messaging to check up on me. Thankfully, Megan had yet another opening later that day, and despite all the chaos I was causing we were able to make some magic happen (I say we, but really this was primarily Megan's doing).
Thank you so, so much Megan for all of your patience, especially after the huge headache I must've been for you that day! Megan will be moving to the UK later this year, so if anyone there is interested in trying out a new cosplay photographer I can highly recommend her (Also, I'd recommend testing how your skin reacts to wig glue BEFORE you're just about to leave the house to go to your photoshoot).
Shout-out to the wonderful GraphitePusher who made my replica of Sarah's brooch!

This scene has probably been one of the most requested ones since I started doing these Muppet Princess Bride illustrations, but I held off attempting it for the longest time because I had no idea if I could pull off Miss Piggy's famous karate chop, and the shot of Kermit falling down the hill. But after hunkering down and putting pen to (digital) paper I managed to get something I'm pretty proud of!
Honestly, I'd love to see Muppet Princess Bride become a reality if only because I wanna see them huck Kermit down a hill. Muppets being thrown is peak comedy to me.

I keep forgetting that I haven't finished putting pictures of all my prop replica projects onto Tumblr, so I figured I'd share one of my favourite projects to date: Recreating the 13 hour Lantern Clock that appears at the end of Jim Henson's Labyrinth.
This was a build that I was really proud to accomplish because it felt a bit like solving a puzzle, both figuratively and literally. I spent a lot of time trying to find existing items that I could cobble together to get the shapes I wanted. For instance the columns of the clock were made out of a wooden thimble, mini baseball bat, candle stick, a cake decorating column, and some o-rings.
Admittedly I was pretty close to chucking this project in the trash at a few points, mostly because I became convinced that it'd never look good. There's always a point with projects where they just look a little ugly, and it's sometimes very hard to tell if they're ugly because they're unfinished, or ugly because they are in fact ugly. Thankfully this project was in the former category, and it all came together eventually.
Other materials used in this project include foam core, some stick on decorative tiles from the dollar store, half of a fillable Christmas ornament, some EVA foam, and some wooden finials. I ended up getting some custom laser cut fretwork done for the top of the clock, and the details on the clock face were cut from vinyl.
I completed this project right around the time I started beefing up my photography skills, so I did a little photoshoot with this clock using some thrift store curtains and brick work made out of insulation foam. The 'floating' effect in the photo was achieved just by taking the photo at a slight tilt. Simple, but very effective!
