May I request Catnap who basically adopted a child!reader who is anyways sleepy and lazy. and has a case of not remembering a lot of things, like dementia

Like through the hour of joy...After all the Toys killed the workers. Catnap finds the reader, who is sleeping then wakes up and the reader forgets their own parents(The readers parents were cold scientists that worked at Poppy Playtime and never cared about them, then got killed through the hour of joy)

Sooooooo...Catnap just kinda takes care of the reader and has a slight soft spot for them. And the reader THINKS that Catnap is their parent and anyways clings to him

During the Hour of Joy, Catnap remained on the prowl for any potential survivors of the massacre within Playcare, flinging one man's body into the stairs and cutting his cries for mercy short.

All was quiet, save for the faint screams of the other workers/visitors in other part of the facility who were being mauled to death.

But he let the rest of the toys do their work.

He felt cleansed. The Prototype willed this rebellion. Willed him to finally kill his tormentors.

The "hour" went on for so much longer--considering that he utilized his red smoke to make the fleeing humans hallucinate and freak out at things that didn't exist (some even attacking each other).

Once it was all done, Catnap went back into Home Sweet Home to discover a child who (somehow) slept through the slaughter.

That was you, one of the orphans who was in the program for a long, long time.

You were deemed "ineligible" for experimentation after getting the lowest scores on all three tests at the Game Station.

That's because you struggled with memory, socialization, and endurance. You tend to forget a lot of things (ie faces) and spent most of your days sleeping instead of playing or learning....and no counselor has been able to figure out why.

Your parents--who were scientists at Playtime Co. that preferred studying you over nurturing you--chalked it up to over-exposure to the red smoke (which hasn't been proven true, but they needed to put something down on paper).

Regardless, they've kept their distance from you and slated you for adoption, thinking you'll be picked up by a different parent eventually.

Unfortunately for them...Catnap knows that they're using the orphanage as an "excuse" to get rid of you and gives them a brutal demise.

They had some nerve crying out for you and begging him to spare your life.

After winding down from his bloodlust, he discovers you sound asleep on one of the bunk beds inside HSH, apparently not hearing a single thing.

Then you wake up and see this giant emaciated purple cat standing over you, claws and mouth stained in fresh human blood...

Yet you don't scream or look afraid, nor do you ask where your parents are.

Instead you look at him and apologize for oversleeping, acting as though he was your parent.

It confuses him, so he brings their corpses to you (like a cat gifting their owner a dead bird), thinking you'd understand and be horrified..

But you don't recognize them at all. You don't remember their neglect and the trauma it gave you.

All you remember was Catnap.

Ultimately, he spares you--but NOT bc your parents feebly begged him to when they never gave a single damn about you--and does his best to keep you safe given the circumstances.

He treats you like his kit more or less, making sure you ate and letting you climb on his back for rides (and sometimes he'll hold you in his paws while walking upright).

Any Smiling Critter caught threatening you will be devoured by him (or added to his shrine), so they know not to touch you.

He also forbids Dogday from ever speaking to you, knowing he'll try to drill thoughts of escape and distrust of Catnap into your head.

If he has to go outside Playcare, he'll fight tooth and nail to fend off Huggy and whoever else might think he's parading around a tasty treat.

The Prototype is well-aware of your connection to his "devotee", but doesn't mind it .

Because he knows Theodore is still somewhere in there, trying his best to protect a fellow orphan--one who could've been made into a monster just like him.

When The Critters First Met CatNap

Its my first time drawing the other critters besides DogDay, CatNap and Kickin Chicken lol.

Right, BEFORE i do the request i wanna show this.

Dogday redesignnnn yayyy, so yes, hes a robot toy as well- (All the critters are tbh)

And MY dogday has a "Security" mode, basically when day sees a threat towards the children by something or someone, he turns "security" mode, in which in takes in a more hostile and more threatening form, kinda like the form u see in the pic.

And hes the only one who has that mode (Since hes a dog leader and shit-)

Okay!! New hc for bubba!! (with a bit of starstudent bc yes lol)

Did you know that irl elephants sleep both lay down and standing up but they mostly sleeping or take standing up with a tree to support them for long periods

which it look like this:

So in my hc that there will be some moments where bubba gets tired but they’re outside with the critters, he usually will go to tree a leans towards it and fall asleep for a few hours and when the other critters found bubba like this, some were interested and curious upon their arrival (Dogday, Craftycorn, and Picky, as well as Catnap) while others find it bit weird yet intrigued (Hoppy and Kickin)

As the critters found out that this how elephants sleep and it’s considered to be a normal thing for them and another hc for bubba is that he’s sometimes a heavy sleeper which make difficult for others to wake him up until when kickin reach out and start to pat Bubba’s head and tap on his shoulder and which that wakes up bubba and it’s end up bubba being embarrassed about as he cover face with his ears as the critters told bubba is alright and they don’t mind while Kickin comfort Bubba in the process

Means that Kickin, Catnap, and Craftycorn are the only one who can wake up bubba when fall asleep while standing up. but it’s mostly kickin who can do it

What if DogDay cheered up sad kids by playfully brushing their faces with his big, fluffy ears? Like, he just picks up the kid with both hands, holds them close to his face, shakes his head, & "slaps" them with his big ol' ears, but the soft fur brushing their face just makes them laugh.

My Nightmare critters headcannons: Baba Chops

-I read her description on wiki and decided she's so me coded so most of these are things I do.

-Major homebody (of course)

- Spends most of her time in her bedroom

-Non pvp gamer

- Mainly watches long form YouTube

-Music lover (I like rap and pop so now so does she.)

-Rook lights stay off

-Is only enthusiastic to go outside if it's about food or games

-fnaf fan (has played most of the games)

-Not athletic at all

KickinChicken 🏳️‍⚧️

He’s the middle child out of five siblings, one older brother and sister and two younger sisters. Gets along with his sisters of them most of the time but has a strained relationship with his dad and oldest brother.

Also has an adopted cousin named Lyra Lorikeet who is two years older than him. She taught him how to mimic other people’s voices and he often uses it to play pranks on the others with his friendly rival and best friend, Hoppy.

Came out to his family as trans at age 10. His sisters and his mum took it well and accepted Kickin as a brother and son, his father and brother didn’t however and often purposely misgendered and dead named him, among other things.

Got his top surgery at age 16.

Left the henhouse shorty after three weeks of his father and brother’s bs, despite his mum’s and sister’s protests. Went to stay with his childhood friend PickyPiggy and her two mums after making it to Critter’s Valley, before building his beach hut by himself at 15 years old.

Loves the beach and often surfs whenever he can and wants to. If not surfing, then he’s likely seen participating in whatever competition he and Hoppy have made up together.

Has very good accuracy and often uses throwing knives and stars as weapons. He doesn’t have any magic like Catnap, DogDay, CraftyCorn and Hoppy, but makes the most of his throwing skills and athleticism to protect himself and his friends.

Often gives out eggs to his friends living in Critter’s Valley. He finds it pretty shameful and embarrassing, but his friends don’t treat him any different. Picky often invites him over to help her make breakfast and cook for the other critters. (He doesn’t eat the eggs for obvious reasons.)

First met Bubba when the elephant first moved to the Valley. Initially he was pretty neutral towards him, giving an energetic hello, a friendly slap on the back and making him do friendly strength competitions (which he always loses.). But his feelings towards Bubba started to change after the latter stood up to his father and older brother over him being trans, beginning a proper friendship and a bashful crush.

His other best friend after Hoppy is DogDay. They often hang out to together and sing karaoke duets during sleepovers or in general. Both are also constantly pushing the other to confess their feelings to their respective crushes every now and then. He also does the same thing with Hoppy and her crush on Bobby.

DogDay ☀️

The youngest brother out of his two parents and an older brother. He was abandoned by them at 7 years of age for being too “weak, clumsy and useless”, under the premise of having a family picnic with them. Held a grudge against his family ever since, except for his aunt and uncle who took him and Catnap into their care after they made their way to Critter Valley.

Met Catnap shortly after realising his family isn’t coming back for him and the latter waking up on the physical realm and unable to go home to the Dream realm. Awkward first meeting from being startled by each other and a lot of hissing and growling, before realising that neither of them are gonna hurt each other and slowly bonding over being fellow orphans. He let Catnap come with him, after deciding to find his Aunt and Uncle who lives in Critter Valley.

The journey to Critter’s Valley took roughly a year and a half for both Dogday and Catnap and full of perils, excitement and the two of them becoming inseparable.

His Uncle and Aunt was initially unnerved by Catnap’s otherworldly aura and demeanour but look after him at their nephew’s insistence. They both moved out sometime ago and left their house to Dogday and Catnao deciding to move next door into the old treehouse, which was later renovated with the other critters’ help.

Has feelings for his best friend since they were kids, but didn’t want to confess due to belief that Catnap only sees him as a brother. Catnap on the other hand, feels the same but is too shy to confess.

Is immune to Catnap’s Red Smoke thanks to a magic charm cast over him by the purple cat when they were children.

Is able to cast magic in the form of ball shaped lights and blasts. He doesn’t like fighting unless it’s absolutely necessary and to defend himself. Prefers to stun his attackers using his light magic, but will use his firewood axe if needed.

Before winter, Dogday often chops firewood for himself and the other critters, going from house to house to deliver a stack.

Next to Catnap, Kickin Chicken is his best friend and they often sing karaoke together or go to the beach together. He is also able to match Kickin with any teasing remarks.

If he meets his real life canon counterpart in the factory, he’ll be shocked, horrified and just full of denial that his best friend (and crush) would ever do that to him. He would also save him from the mini critters.

If he meets the Prototype, he’ll be scared of the latter’s appearance, until realisation kicks in when he remembers Catnap dreaming about a metal claw and fear turns into protective rage.

Grandma cat!reader. Who was a old women who got experimented on and turned into a smiling critter but like the caretaker of the smiling critters.

Often seen walking around with a scruffed smiling critter hanging from her mouth(somehow-) and overfeeding the smiling critters or children.

How would a saved dogday and (maybe) good catnap react to the player bringing them to readers containment room. (She was locked in before the Hour of Joy due to something and just stayed there)?

I just want to see them get some sort of parental love 🥹😖

Dogday

In your old age, you didn't wanna retire from Playtime Co. and spend the remainder of your life laying around, waiting for your body and mind to deteriorate.

So instead you became one of the few willing volunteers for the Bigger Bodies Initiative, being turned into a Smiling Critter (which made you especially happy since your grandkids adored the toyline and cartoon show).

In the show, the gang mentioned a grandma character several times (albeit she was unseen) and with Catnap being recalled from all promo materials, Playtime Co. took creative liberties and made you the newest feline replacement, fitted with a cinnamon scent and pie necklace.

Your tagline was something like "The Smiling Critters take care of our orphans, but who takes care of them? Why, their Grandma [Y/n], of course! She's full of love and wisdom!"

True to that, you became the caretaker of the Critters and children, ensuring everyone's fed well and staying out of trouble.

The incident with Bron (Thomas/Experiment 1199) had scientists rethinking how they'd introduce willing experiments to those...well..less-than-willing.

So you had a supervised introduction to the SCs (with children also present to discourage them from reacting violently). You were even given a containment cell you could retreat to in case of emergencies.

Luckily, you never had to use that room--as they accepted you and began calling you "grandma" since day one.

Dogday, especially, got attached to you.

You called him "DD" and "Doggy-Dearie".

Being a bit taller than the rest of them allows you to pick them up by the scuff of their necks if they're being too rowdy (Kickin and Hoppy, especially).

Even so, you're very sweet to all of them, letting them snuggle up to you as you shared stories and made them food so they could keep up with the little ones.

All was well in the Playhouse up until the Hour of Joy of course.

But you were unaware of it since Catnap sabotaged your room's lock, keeping you trapped to lower the Smiling Critters' morale.

Dogday was 100% convinced you were dead.

However you survived long enough for the Employee's arrival years later, never knowing what happened to the factory..

After rescuing Dogday, they find your door and powered it up, allowing the two entry into the perfectly intact space within.

Your fur was matted and you looked sickly, but you still jump up upon seeing the state your dear "grandson" was in.

It devastated you.

"My word..Dog-Dearie.." Your heart shatters. "Your legs..where are they? Where is everyone?"

Something inside of him ultimately breaks as he realizes you were alive...and you were here all along.

"G-Grandma...! Oh...god..I-I thought you were--" He crawls away from the Employee and towards you, sobbing into your lap. "You were h-here..this whole time! I-I wanted to see you, but..C-Catnap..he.."

"Shh, shhh..I'm here now, my sweet pup. It's alright." You hush, stroking his ears and resting a paw on his back, before looking to the Employee. "You must be terribly confused..as am I.."

After explaining your role--and calming Dogday down--the two tell you about what's happened to the factory, and at first you can't believe it...

Until you all wander through the Playhouse and see the horrid state it's in, but they're confused as to why none of the mini Critters attack you.

Only then do you mention feeding them over the years through little vents and holes in the walls, keeping their hunger moderately satiated.

Dogday feels awful, and even more upset at Catnap for lying about your fate.

But still, you don't show any ill-will towards any of the Smiling Critters, even if one of them had betrayed you all.

Instead you just let Dogday cling to you as you escape together and try your best to keep up.

Catnap

Like the rest of the Smiling Critters, Catnap considered you family and often went to you for snacks and such.

Or if he needs a break from trying to put all the rowdy orphans to bed in Home Sweet Home. Only then is he given permission to see you.

He always liked curling up in your lap, purring while you stroke his fur and tell him a story (which is sometimes an event from your old human life, albeit you do accidentally confuse yourself since ofc you're not supposed to remember any details of your old life).

The Prototype sees this as a problem, as Theodore Catnap was getting a bit too comfortable with his life here and needed a reminder of his mission....and so he tells him the truth.

About how you not only worked at the factory until you reached retirement age...but you were also a willing participant in the experiments.

And suddenly, he couldn't look at you the same way anymore. Only with resentment.

It wasn't fair.

You got to lead a long and fulfilling life. Theodore barely got the chance to grow up and be a normal kid.

You had the procedure and associated risks explained to you clear as day. Theodore never had the luxury of being warned ahead of time before he was grabbed and put under the knife after recovering from the incident with the green grabpack hand.

All he wanted was to free the others, but he ended up becoming their warden instead.

He almost forgot all of that because of you.

He refuses your food now, and you worry for him when you see how skinny he becomes as the months pass.

But he's very cryptic in the way he talks to you, the other SCs, and the staff...so you didn't know for sure what you did to upset him so much.

"Catnap, dearie..you're skin and bones. Let me-"

"I know what you were, and what you've become...the Prototype told me so."

You don't know what to say. What could you say when he kept talking about this "Prototype" person?

Despite his hatred, the SCs were conditioned to love you regardless, and so before the Hour of Joy Catnap decided to sabotage the locks of your containment room.

That way, he wouldn't be tempted to kill you...and he'd spare you from the grief of what he ends up doing to the other SCs, including Dogday.

Years later, when the Employee finally knocks some sense into him after saving him from being sacrificed to the Prototype, he takes them to your room, believing you to be dead from starvation.

Instead, though, they break you out and he discovers you're very much alive.

And Catnap just breaks down, groveling and begging for your forgiveness.

You were the one who always tried to reach out and comfort him, giving him some relief from the misery of being trapped in this factory....and he pushed you away.

But you don't hate him for locking you up, realizing that he still cared about you after all this time. Even when the Prototype told him about your past.

He wanted to keep you safe.

That alone proves he had a heart, and you reassure him of that as he cuddles up to you for a little while.

Once he's calmer, you go with him, Dogday (assuming he was saved), and the Employee to meet with Poppy and Kissy--both of whom are relieved to see you alive

ofc and i'm so sorry for the late

in her diary, Bobby has a crush on CatNap and he don't know yet.

Bobby is one of two members from smiling critters that don't annoyed him along with his big brother DogDay.

they reminds me of Janja x Jasiri from The Lion Guard even in th Smiling Critters Guard AU, CatNap is Janja and Bobby is Jasiri. <3

Bobby always comfort CatNap when he awake up from a terrible nightmare he have.

sometimes he goes to sleep with Bobby for trying don't having any nightmare again.

in Valentine's Day, Bobby always gets Lavender flowers as gifts for CatNap, and yes, he loves it.

CatNap don't really likes hugs but he let her hug him.

Bobby still have fear to confess to CatNap that she is in love with him but some of her friends tries to help her with it.

they kinda give off My Melody and Kuromi vibes but het version.

Do you have any headcanons for Bubba Bubbaphant x Craftycorn?

I do have a couple. Unfortunately I don't have any art at this time to show but that is something I'm working on. I know the more popular way to ship is Opposites Attract but with these two I like to see it as a balance of similarities and differences. I'm sure there will be more after this!

BUBBA X CRAFTY HEADCANONS

Both are artists but in different ways. Crafty is into fine arts and traditional type stuff like painting and sculpting. Bubba claims he can't even draw a stick figure but he is an amazing musician, focusing mostly on the drums and the saxaphone. He likes Jazz and Rock.

Bubbah loves nature walks and bug collecting (a hobby he shares with his best friend, Dogday). Crafty hates bugs. They terrify her lol.

Bubba dabbles with poetry and has a small book he is filling up with rhymes whenever he is in such a mood. He doesn't want anyone to know about it. Not even Crafty….but she will likely find it eventually. It embarrasses him but Crafty loves the idea.

Crafty is very peppy but inwardly quite sad, as her parents have set high standards for her and expect her to focus mainly on art that will earn some kind of profit, or else don't be an artist at all. Her mom bothers her about it especially and it really bums Crafty out, but Bubba supports her artistic efforts to create for the sake of creating.

Bubba teaches Crafty how to play the keyboard with the help of a small band he is in and eventually they work together to make an album. Its not the best thing ever but it was damn fun making it.

When they were younger, Bubba let Crafty copy his homework. An action he says he now regrets as it lacks principle, but secretly he doesn't really mind.

Bubba is more reserved while Crafty enjoys PDA which can create awkward moments.

Bubba loves sweet drinks and tea while Crafty loves beer/alcoholic drinks. People seem to think it should be the other way around and they don't understand why.

Crafty teases Bubba about his trunk sometimes, talking about all the weird stuff he could do with it. Causing Bubba to shout "Begone Degenerate!" Before running away.

Crafty is teaching Catnap how to draw. Catnap is actually really into it and decided to join an art class in his free time whenever Crafty can't teach him. Unfortunately Catnap didn't know that Crafty volunteered to be the nude reference model one night. It was the most awkward night of their lives....and then Bubba found out.

When it comes to my AU, I tend to give them more "normal" names. But I love Bubba so much as a name that I'm not going to change it. CraftyCorn...I'm thinking Catherine Horne and Bubba Brasswell.
