We’ve received a notice that an Entei has been spotted near the Johto-Kanto border in both regions and that there is a moderately sized collection of trainers attempting to capture it.

Whilst not technically illegal to capture legendary Pokémon in the Johto and Kanto regions, we strongly advise trainers against attempting to. Legendary Pokémon are named so for a reason and typically have had negative interactions with humans. We know this to be the case of Entei, and it will likely not hold back in defending itself.

Due to the sheer power that Entei possesses, the volunteers in Johto will be instructed to attempt to educate and turn away trainers entering the forest until we have reports that the Pokémon has moved on. If anyone sights Entei or signs of it’s passing through, please let the PJI know immediately so that we can keep our information as up to date as possible.

Hey there, the PJI recently rescued some Empoleon from a fighting ring and we’re brainstorming some creative ways we might be able to assist in getting these Empoleons aggression out in healthy ways. They can’t be around other Empoleon in any circumstance anymore, but do you think entering them in a tough contest might be beneficial after some rehab?

It's possible it might, but they will likely need a fair amount of adjusting to a safe and non-abusive environment. Traumatized pokemon can be jumpy and I'd be concerned about them lashing out at the judges if they're startled. But if you manage to get them to a fairly stable position, learning how to express themselves in a competitive environment again could be really good for them.

It also depends on the pokemon. Some might take to it really well. Others might be too traumatized to be in front of crowds again. Poor things. You could try taking them to competitions as spectators once they've begun to settle. See how they take to the crowds and cheering.

Also, talk with the event co-ordinators. They'd be more than happy to help work with you, and can give you a heads up if other empoleon are going to be in the ring.
