i will be using chinese words in MYATB gifsets cause i always deeply disliked subbers translating terms from asian languages to english ones (changing hyung/phi to brother is stupid, let the audience learn new cultural stuff and figure it out), so wanted to make a few notes in case there are people in the tag who haven't watched cdramas or read chinese novels before
guniang = young lady
gongzi = young gentleman
ge = older brother, man older than you (like thai phi)
jie = older sister, woman older than you
didi = younger brother, man younger than you
meimei = younger sister, woman younger than you
laoshi = teacher
if you want to use names of the character or an actor in a less formal and more affectionate way, you can double the last syllable, like Jin Xiaobao can be called Baobao. to make it pointed that the one you are referring to is cute/small/young, you can also use prefix "Xiao", like most chinese fans call Wang Yunkai as Xiaokai
example: i have been calling Li Le either Li-di (because he is younger than me, surname + younger brother) or Lele when talking about him to people cause full name feels too distanced and formal
you can read more about how to use chinese names in your speaking correctly, some suffixes and similar stuff here and here

i think a reason unrelated to the story or gameplay that soma is such a comfort game for me is that the sound design is just really relaxing - not the monsters screeching horribly obviously - but like the passive underwater noises, the regulation of our scuba gear/breathing, the doors sliding open with their pleasant little chimes, the pressure rooms in between parts where you're in and out of underwater sections filling or emptying with water - not to mention all the little things you can just interact with throughout the game - it just makes for a very soothing experience personally despite all the scary bits 😂

In the script for the eta sigma phi society induction there's a big chunk of homer lines but they're not separated by line or even by book or text. do any of you know where they found the line "All things are ever the same"?
it looks like that's probably lucretius, not homer, unless lucretius is quoting homer--but when i google the line + homer the only result is the eta sigma phi induction and then a bunch of lucretius. it looks like the text of the induction is generally not fully directly lifted from the writers it's quoting but rather taking inspiration from them to impart life lessons--there's definitely stuff in there that doesn't look like homer and probably isn't from any writer, although i didn't go through and look up each sentence or anything.
anyway it looks like "all things are ever the same" is from de rerum natura book 3, line 945. the line in latin is "eadem sunt omnia semper." you can read the relevant lucretius translation here, and in latin here.

I think it is a valid question to ask whether it is a socialization aspect of girlhood where women are considered bad drivers or too anxious to drive.
I also acknowledge that I should learn how to drive, in case of emergencies.
But I have these obstacles in my way, agoraphobia being the biggest of them.
I think I just didn't like to be singled out lol but I have nothing personal against OP and her opinions because she is right.
It happens, women are scared of the power and independence things like a car would give them, like people are going to judge them.
But, in my case there is plenty of public transport, bicycle tracks and a lot of walkways where I live.
So a car for me to be independently going from one place to another is not a must.
Also, taxies are not super cheap but affordable so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
