Note: Happy belated Pride! Some favorite LGBTQ horror characters. And a reminder I don’t tolerate homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, etc. on my blogs. As a cis woman with PCOS, I sure as hell do not support transmisogyny.
This blog might be primarily reader inserts, but sometimes I just like to discuss miscellaneous characters. Also, reporting hateful posts here and on Twitter is just depressing.
1. Amazon Eve from American Horror Story: Freak Show
This and Coven are my favorite seasons, but it’s like Puella Magi where I can’t rewatch because Freak Show made me sad. I love Eve’s maternal attitude and zero tolerance for BS.
2. the Chemist from American Horror Story: Red Tide
I like psychedelic drug-themed horror (see Mandy and Brain Damage), but I haven’t watched much evil pharmacology so the first half of Double Feature was interesting.
3-4. Miss Spink and Miss Forcible from Coraline
The fact they’re an item completely flew over tiny Tawney’s head when she read the book. My family watches British mysteries, so I grew up with quirky old ladies and love seeing them in horror/fantasy.
5. Matthew Brown from Hannibal
Yeah, there’s Will and Hannibal’s dynamic, but what about the orderly’s crush on the former?
6. Dani Moonstar from The New Mutants
The movie did have its flaws. Dani and Rahne’s relationship wasn’t one of them. I recently started reading X-Men comics and it’s a shame they aren’t a couple on-page.
7. Herbert West from Re-Animator
Another mad scientist! This time, one with a huge crush on his roomie! The only person he’s nice to!
8. Robin Buckley from Stranger Things
I like that she and Steve remained friends. Even if her first stated crush was on a schoolmate who sings like a Muppet in labor.
9. Danny Mahealani from Teen Wolf
There’s actually a fair amount of gay/bisexual guys on the show. Stiles is implied to be bi, Jackson comes out in season six, Ethan is there, Brett dances with girls and boys, Corey/Mason is my (canon M/M) OTP… Danny was there from the beginning, though.
10. Raúl Cocolotl from Wendell & Wild
Good punk representation for a kids’ (PG-13) movie. He and Kat are both punks, yet their attitudes are different.

Whether it would be traversing throughout the nine layers of Hell itself or going on what is hoped to be a simplistic shopping trip to the local farmer’s market, they could be found directly by her side. It could be labeled as a suicide mission with a ninety-nine percent chance of not making it back alive or sitting next to each other on the couch in the laboratory office, they could still be found directly by her side. It was quite obvious that it didn't matter the location or the situation, (Y/N) could always be found directly by Moira’s side. Therefore, when Moira had left the disappointment that she called Overwatch, (Y/N) uprooted themselves and followed her into the hands of Talon without any questions or hesitations.
Yet, being a part of Talon’s inner council meant that there were some things that had to be discussed or dealt with where only Moira could attend, having to leave (Y/N) alone for the night to entertain themselves until Moira was to get back. “The less people that are aware of the situation, the less danger that you will be in, my Coinín,” Moira would respond when having been asked by (Y/N) why they couldn’t attend as well. Typically that would mean that they would have to entertain themselves within the comforts of one of the many safehouses that Talon occupied, but (Y/N) was feeling more adventurous, deciding to spend the night exploring the city. Unfortunately, the night didn’t end as (Y/N) would’ve expected, and ended up getting captured by some former Overwatch operators to be interrogated for information about Talon and their next plans of operation.
How long has it been since that night? How long has it been since (Y/N) had been snatched away from their late night stroll around the city to pass the time until Moira was to come back home? These Overwatch operators, some of them being former coworkers and former companions, refused to tell (Y/N). It didn’t help that the interrogation and the increasingly violent methods that they were using in an attempt to extract information was making it seem as if time was going by ever so slowly, but that was also a part of the methods as well. Each different person brought in to interrogate (Y/N) had various methods to use, some more dangerous and risky than the others, but they all knew that they couldn’t just outright kill (Y/N) as a final tactic.
Using pharmacological torture upon them and trying to pry information while (Y/N)’s in a drugged out haze, breaking bones varying from fingers and toes to an arm and a leg, trying to deprive them of their senses to where they could only focus on the darkness and the pain but forcing (Y/N) to stay awake to endure it all. Now they are attempting to force (Y/N) to submit and give them the information that they’re seeking through waterboarding, listening as the former member coughs out and gasps for air through the drenched cloth on their face. While there’s an expectation of that extremely cold water to attempt to suffocate them once again, that expectation never comes. There’s some slight confusion, a slight jolt from (Y/N) as there’s fingers frantically brushing across their skin, beginning to pull at the binds that hold them down to the chair and the items that were used to deprive (Y/N) of their senses.
It takes some moments for some stability to come to (Y/N) from being disoriented by the sudden rush of their senses coming back to them, grunting slightly while scrunching their eyes closed at the blinding light that surrounds them. There’s a voice, a voice that’s recognizable but between the blaring alarms, the undeniable sounds of fighting taking place within the background, it’s hard to make out what exactly is being said. “..M-Moira..?” Moia’s name slips past (Y/N)’s lips in a soft whisper while lifting their head in order to look at the person, and being confirmed that’s exactly who it was. “Don’t you worry, little Coinín. I’ll be taking you back home, making sure that you get the best treatment.” Typically being calm outwardly, it doesn’t take much for (Y/N) to know that internally Moira’s panicking, concerned about the amount of damage that’s been done, but she continues to hold her head up high and deal with the occasional enemy that crosses her path as she proceeds to carry (Y/N) to the dropship for evacuation.
“..Are you absolutely sure that you’re not in need of anything to eat or drink? Maybe even just a couple more pain killers to dull the pain some more?” Moira questions her injured partner within her arms once they make it into the dropship and settle into some seats. Despite that there’s the fabrication of giving life and taking life at Moira’s hands, their gentle as they caress (Y/N)’s cheeks, gentle brushing across their skin to access damages, Moira healing what she can of (Y/N)’s body at that moment. There’s a smile upon (Y/N)’s lips as they shake their head in response to Moira’s question, struggling to keep their eyes open due to the physical and mental exhaustion they were dealing with. “You’re doing well, you know that? Doing so well, I’m so proud of you for holding out as long as you did despite what they’ve done to you.” There’s a smile that graces Moira’s lips, a rare occurrence, before she leans down and places a gentle kiss upon (Y/N)’s forehead, running her fingers through their hair. “ Now, rest.”

hello house tumblr i am back with regularly scheduled educational programming. if there is one thing i love it is niche things related to my interests and what's more niche than academic studies related to house md? yes you heard me right. people in academia did research related to house and i am here to share the knowledge. who said academia was boring?
the majority of studies i saw were in bioethics and were studying the usefulness of house md as a teacher of ethical problems (i would know i had to write a medical ethics paper on chase killing a dictator for a class).
in one study it was shown that 5 episodes from season 1 of house were useful in teaching clinical pharmacology who knew? as well as actual lectures in medical schools being done with a house md episode as a starting point. lots of student turnaround for those seminars. now that's cool. so house is educational we got that covered.
and my personal favorite (sorry i'm a psych major) is an entire book someone wrote on house and psychology, aptly titled "humanity is overrated." sigh if only i came up with that first. lot of great chapters in that book. prime video essay material right there. highly recommend a dig through https://books.google.com/books?hl=en&lr=&id=rIDuEAAAQBAJ&oi=fnd&pg=PT9&dq=house+md+tv+show&ots=ov0bzdDBzY&sig=vVMpF9Vjsjj38GuudS0pFHVRWI0#v=onepage&q&f=false
on a less fun note it was shown that frequent watchers of house before undergoing an operation are the most anxious before surgery reporting a 10 (yeah that doesn't surprise me).
also frequent viewers of medical tv shows (like house) report that they can most likely perform basic medical procedures after watching them. that's comforting.
that concludes your regularly scheduled educational programming. have a nice day!

Excerpt’s from Gabor Maté’s ‘When the Body Says No: The Cost of Hidden Stress,’ pages 194-231.
- “The less the emotional capacity for self-regulation develops infancy and childhood, the more the adult depends on the relationships to maintain homeostasis. The greater the dependence, the greater the threat when those relationships are lost or become insecure.” pg 197
- “One learns love not by instruction, but by being loved.” pg 202
- “Future relationships will have as their templates nerve circuits laid down in our relationships with our earliest caregivers. We will understand ourselves as we have felt understood, love ourselves as we perceived being loved on the deepest unconscious levels, care for ourselves with as much compassion as, at our core, we perceived as young children.” pg 207
- “Blame becomes a meaningless concept if one understands how family history stretches back through the generations.” pg 216
- “The central issue is the unintentional transmission of stress and anxiety across the generations.” pg 217
- “As Hans Selye pointed out, the unacknowledged assumptions of the scientist will often limit and define what will be discovered. Settling for the view that illness, mental or physical, are primarily genetic allows us to avoid disturbing questions about the nature of the society in which we live. If “science” enables us to ignore poverty or man-made toxins or a frenetic and stressful social culture as contributors to disease, we can look only to simple answers: pharmacological and biological. Such an approach helps to justify and preserve prevailing social values and structures. It may also be profitable.” pg 229
- “Stress is the result of an interaction between a stressor and a processing system. That processing apparatus is the human nervous system, operating under the influence of the brain’s emotional centres. The biology of belief inculcated in that processing apparatus early in life crucially influences our stress responses throughout our lives.” pg 231

17/20- NEET-PG
The day started with rains and cuteness but quickly spiralled when my mom decided to go out and for some reason, that really affected my mood. I don’t know what has brought upon this intense attachment to my mother suddenly and this single incident caused more than one rift today.
I reconnected with a good friend, on the verge of arguing with my partner, have a couple of whack food items today and in general, I’m done with today.
On the positive, I opened microbiology notes and started revising it (just 5 pages out of 30- what an achievement) and I found some inspiration in Prajakta Koli (YouTube- MostlySane) because I want to be a famous author and have a fan following for my vibes and wholesome content and the bomb fit body. I think she has reached that stage. I too want to get there, with a surgery practice.
My four days to finish medicine subjects have gone terribly. I don’t know what I need more or less in life but I’m definitely realising the need for more introspection, reflection and meditation and more sweaty workouts, longer effective study sessions and more happiness. I miss having fun and maybe others getting to have it triggers me a little sometimes.
I don’t know. My first instinct today is to run away from every person I’m close to. I don’t know why. Maybe I feel like I’ll say something I shouldn’t and ruin things.
Tomorrow I can’t help but start surgical subjects. It’s a full day of Anat, General Surgery and one portion of Gynaecology, but I’m gonna start at 6am finish these by 3-5pm and catch up on some pharmacology, systemic revision and subject revisions. Ideally. Here’s hoping.
Trying to subdue the negativity inside me right now- I’m just going to surrender to Vishnu/Krishna and start my day tomorrow with floor stretches and Vedic chants. I just can’t deal with feeling like a failure or being annoyed or not understood right now. I’m gonna call it a day :)
Here’s some psychiatry text and my new favourite- A strong Hazelnut iced latte from Spring café. Really hoping tomorrow goes better than this.

Hii
I'm finding it difficult to study and remember pharmacology (especially from KDT, which, as you know, is the ✨standard✨ one). I've been studying from Shanbhag, which simplifies everything and makes it easy to understand, along with Lippincott (i'm in LOVE with this book...the concepts are good with amazing diagrams and it's simple to understand). And well, everyone is making me feel like this is a very bad choice, and that I'll suffer later during pg prep because I'll have to read KDT for that. What are your thoughts on this?
Hii
I understand your fear. Pharmacology, what i feel is the most volatile subject throughout mbbs. I studied pharma from Tara V Shanbag too! I would suggest you to read general pharma alone from KDT. It is funny that it never crossed my mind that I never actually read KDT entirely. I lost my KDT few months into second year and never bothered to borrow the book from the library or from my friends LOL. I read entirely from shanbag and Ninja nerd videos on youtube. I also passed pharmacology with a distinction. Once you start your clinical subjects it is best to revise pharmacology from whatever source you use now, be it Shanbag or Lippincott or your own notes.
I feel it is okay to rely on a easier source and understand better rather than using a complex book just because it is "standard", we would just end up cramming a lot of information that we don't retain.
And when it comes to PG prep they test our pharmacology knowledge with clinical interpretations mostly and there are like so many good you tube resources that make you understand pharmacological concepts in a crisp manner!
Also what nobody talks about is how like the 90% of the students are not going to remember most of pharma by the time we complete MBBS, no matter what source you study from standard or local author. It is always like starting from the basics. To help with it I would suggest you to keep your pharma knowledge oriented throughout your mbbs. Once you start your PG prep the coaching platforms will definitely back you up with the extra knowledge that are additionally needed.
In short I feel it is totally fine to ignore a standard textbook and go with Shanbag or lippincott as long as you understand the concepts better. Remember nothing can go wrong with mbbs resources as long as you are reading and gaining the needed information!

[Text: Drewski] Dude, I was just watching a show that said pararescue has a higher training dropout rate than the seals. Shit, I might have to actually be impressed by you.
{Text: McG} The pipeline's fucking brutal, man. Let me outline it for you. Hang on this is gonna take a hot minute. {Text: McG} Indoc: Lackland AFB, Tx. This was our basic, with emphasis on swimming, running, weight training, and calisthenics. Took 10 weeks. I still have nightmares over the psych training, obstacle courses, rucksack marches. Then days in class. physics, tables, metrics, medical and dive terminology, CPR, weapons qualifications, history and well. You remember "leadership training". And if you make it through all this, congrats...welcome to the suck. {Text: McG} Welcome to Fort Benning and Army Airborne School! Basic parachuting skills, static line air drops and not getting laid now for three months. You're here for a month. Ground ops. Pyramid and tower weeks, jump weeks, with 5 real jumps. At the end of this, you get your wings. {Text: McG} Now...6 weeks in gorgeous Pensacola, for combat dive course. Diving theory, infiltration/exfiltration methods, open circuit dive ops, and closed circuit dive ops. AFCDC is basically the pool party, and open water search and recovery training. And if you make the cut, it's Navy Underwater Egress training, which ...yay. The joy is overwhelming. Makes me hard. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 {Text: McG} USAF Basic Survival school-- 2.5 weeks, Fairchild AFB, Washington. Two words: Environmental conditions. As inhospitable as possible, and the breadcrumb trail, learning how to find your way back. This is where about fifteen guys dropped out. {Text: McG} Then US Army Military Free Fall Parachutist School--5 weeks split between Ft Bragg and Yuma PG. This one was cool as shit bro, and when we started Free fall HALO. Playing around in wind tunnels, aerial maneuvers, air sense, and other shit. Minimum 30 jumps (I did 36) including 2 night jumps with supp. oxygen and full kit. Instructor kept giving me and Sam shit for being able to carry twice the weight bearing and I had to explain spending all my life carrying Beth. Never got smoked that hard. On the other hand, this is when I got leave to head home for a break. I was never so glad to see my own bed. Drank my body-weight and yours, and slept for three full days. Finally got laid and grabbed a real Five-Guys. (Fuck you and your In-n-Out). {Text: McG} Shortest three weeks of my life, then back to the grind. The next six months was EMT/Paramedic training at Kirtland AFB, in Albuquerque. Yeah, fucking surprised me too that it was a real place. Trauma and evac training, emergency training. First 5 weeks was basic EMT-B training, next 17 was field surgery, pharmacology, combat trauma management, airway support, and evac. Graduation put us in the National Registry. Then there was Pararescue Recovery Specialist school. 20 weeks at Kirtland still. This was qualification for worldwide PJ unit placement. More EMT shit, field work, mountaineering, combat tactics, parachuting, helo insert/extraction, and the accompanying qualifications. At the end, we get the maroon berets and are full fledged PJs, though there's other schools which are "voluntary". {Text: McG} I FUCKED UP. Burt's Tiki Lounge. And what can I say about it? This pic sums it up. I feel the need for heavy duty antibiotics just remembering this shit. And this was BEFORE I used it.

Creating an Effective Study Schedule for AIAPGET: A Comprehensive Guide by Ayursure Academy
The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) is the gateway to post-graduate programs in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy in India. The exam is highly competitive, and having an effective study schedule is essential for success. In this article, we, at Ayursure Academy, provide you with a detailed guide on how to create a study schedule tailored for theAyurveda PG entrance exam.
Understanding AIAPGET
Before diving into your study schedule, it's essential to understand the exam structure. AIAPGET is based on the undergraduate syllabus of AYUSH systems, with questions focused on theoretical knowledge, clinical concepts, and application-based scenarios. Therefore, the right strategy and disciplined preparation can help you crack the exam.
Step 1: Know the Syllabus
The first step is to get a thorough understanding of the syllabus for the Ayurveda PG entrance exam. The subjects typically include:
Ayurveda Samhitas (Charaka, Sushruta, Ashtanga Hridaya)
Basic principles of Ayurveda (Sankhya, Nyaya, Yoga, etc.)
Clinical subjects (Kayachikitsa, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, etc.)
Pharmacology and Materia Medica
Anatomy and Physiology
Ayursure Academy recommends that students start by categorizing subjects into major and minor topics based on weightage in the exam and their own strengths and weaknesses.
Step 2: Create a Realistic Study Timeline
With AIAPGET being highly competitive, you need to be consistent and focused in your preparation. Follow these tips for an effective timeline:
Daily Targets: Break down your study material into daily targets. Dedicate specific hours to each subject. For instance, 2 hours for theory-based subjects like Samhitas and 2 hours for clinical topics like Kayachikitsa.
Weekly Goals: Every week, allocate time for revision. A structured weekly plan will prevent last-minute cramming.
Mock Tests: Keep one day per week for mock tests and revision. Solving mock papers under timed conditions will improve your speed and accuracy.
Ayursure Academy recommends starting your preparation at least 6 months before the exam for a more relaxed and thorough approach.
Step 3: Study in Phases
Foundation Phase (Months 1-2): Focus on reading and understanding concepts from your undergraduate textbooks. Begin with the basic principles of Ayurveda and major Samhitas.
Conceptualization Phase (Months 3-4): Move to clinical subjects. Apply the basic principles to real-life scenarios, as AIAPGET tests clinical application. Study the previous year’s question papers to familiarize yourself with the pattern.
Revision Phase (Months 5-6): During the last two months, prioritize revision. Memorize important shlokas, key facts, and definitions. Regular mock tests are crucial at this stage.
Step 4: Balance Between Theory and Practice
While theory is essential, the AIAPGET also focuses on clinical aspects, particularly for Ayurveda. For example:
Kayachikitsa: Focus on treatment protocols and case-based questions.
Shalya and Shalakya Tantra: Prioritize procedural knowledge and surgical approaches.
Ayursure Academy advises students to balance between the two by alternating between theoretical studies and clinical case reviews.
Step 5: Time Management Strategies
Time management is key to acing the Ayurveda PG entrance exam. Here's how you can optimize it:
Morning Hours: These are ideal for subjects that require deep concentration, such as Samhitas.
Afternoon/Evening Hours: Use these for clinical subjects or revising notes.
Short Breaks: Taking regular short breaks between study sessions improves retention and keeps you energized.
Step 6: Use the Right Resources
Having the right resources makes all the difference. Ayursure Academy provides exclusive access to:
Curated study materials for all AIAPGET subjects.
Previous years’ question papers and detailed solutions.
Expert guidance from experienced faculty in Ayurveda.
Make sure you’re using standard textbooks and reliable online resources. Ayursure Academy’s learning modules are specifically designed to help you cover the entire syllabus systematically.
Step 7: Stay Consistent and Stay Healthy
Lastly, consistency is the most critical factor in success. Stick to your schedule, and don’t let distractions derail your progress. Additionally, maintaining good physical and mental health is essential during this intensive preparation period.
Tips for Maintaining Health:
Yoga and Meditation: Incorporate yoga and meditation to manage stress.
Healthy Diet: Follow a nutritious diet to keep your mind and body active.
Adequate Sleep: Ensure you get 6-8 hours of sleep daily to avoid burnout.
Conclusion
Preparing for the Ayurveda PG entrance exam can be challenging, but with the right study schedule and determination, you can crack AIAPGET. At Ayursure Academy, we believe that a well-structured plan, consistency, and expert guidance are the keys to success. Follow this guide to create your study schedule, and stay focused on your goal.
Ayursure Academy is committed to helping you achieve your dream of securing a PG seat in Ayurveda. Happy studying and best of luck!
