Understanding Drugs and its Types
Drugs, both legal and illegal, have been used for centuries for medicinal, recreational, and cultural purposes. While some drugs are essential for medical treatment, others are harmful and can lead to addiction, health problems, and social issues. In this blog, we’ll explore a range of drugs, their effects, and the reasons behind their prohibition. Cocaine  Heroin  LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide)  marijuana  Cannabis
What Are Drugs?
Drugs are substances that affect the body or mind. They can be categorized as prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, or illegal substances. The latter often pose serious health risks and are banned or tightly regulated in many countries. Methamphetamine (Meth)  Ecstasy (MDMA)  Anabolic Steroids  PCP (Phencyclidine)  Synthetic Cannabinoids
Let’s delve into some common illegal or restricted drugs, their effects, and the dangers they pose.
Cocaine
Derived from the coca plant, cocaine is a powerful stimulant that increases energy, alertness, and confidence. However, it also causes severe health issues, including heart problems, paranoia, and addiction. The illicit nature of cocaine stems from its high potential for abuse and its harmful social and physical effects.
Heroin
Heroin, an opioid derived from morphine, is one of the most addictive substances. It induces feelings of euphoria but quickly leads to dependence. Overdose risks are high, often resulting in respiratory failure. The drug has devastating effects on individuals and communities, prompting its strict prohibition.
Methamphetamine (Meth)
Meth is a highly addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system. It increases energy and focus but also causes severe physical and mental health issues, including paranoia, hallucinations, and dental problems (“meth mouth”). Its illegal production in clandestine labs adds to public health and safety concerns.
LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide)
LSD, commonly known as acid, is a hallucinogenic drug that alters perception and mood. Although not typically addictive, it can cause psychological distress and dangerous behaviors. LSD is illegal in most countries due to its unpredictable effects and potential for misuse.
Ecstasy (MDMA)
MDMA, or Ecstasy, is a synthetic drug with stimulant and hallucinogenic properties. Popular in party scenes, it induces feelings of euphoria and emotional closeness. However, it can cause dehydration, overheating, and long-term cognitive issues. Its recreational use is widely banned.
Psilocybin Mushrooms (Magic Mushrooms)
Psilocybin, the active compound in magic mushrooms, is a natural hallucinogen. While some studies suggest potential therapeutic benefits, its recreational use is illegal in many regions. The drug alters perception and can lead to panic attacks and confusion.
Marijuana and Cannabis
Cannabis, commonly referred to as marijuana, has been at the center of legalization debates. While medical marijuana is approved in many countries for pain relief and other uses, recreational cannabis remains illegal in several places. Its overuse can lead to dependency, impaired judgment, and respiratory issues.
Synthetic Cannabinoids
Synthetic cannabinoids, often marketed as "legal highs" under names like K2 or Spice, mimic the effects of cannabis but are far more potent and unpredictable. They are associated with severe side effects, including psychosis, seizures, and organ damage. Their sale is banned in many regions.
Anabolic Steroids
Anabolic steroids, synthetic derivatives of testosterone, are sometimes misused for muscle growth and athletic performance. Abuse can lead to heart disease, liver damage, and mood disorders. Non-medical use of steroids is illegal in many countries.
PCP (Phencyclidine)
PCP, or angel dust, is a dissociative drug known for its hallucinogenic effects. It can cause violent behavior, paranoia, and detachment from reality. Its high potential for abuse and dangerous side effects make it illegal for recreational use.

The anon that mentioned when Vox died made me wonder if there were more inconsistencies…I don’t know if this is the official canon but some sources say that Angel Dust just overdosed and the drug isn’t specified but a lot of sources also say he overdosed on the drug he’s named after.
PCP, or “Angel Dust” wasn’t invented until the 50s and didn’t start to be used recreationally until around the 60s.
Angel Dust apparently died in the 1940s.
If his cause of death was just an overdose of another drug I guess that would be fine but a lot of wikis and comments seem to say he died of a PCP overdose.
This is shit I found out with two seconds of research. Does Vivziepop just? Not due any research or think critically about her characters backgrounds at all??
Source-https://www.banyantreatmentcenter.com/2021/08/23/pcp-history-pompano/
Okay, true story, this was the first thing to ever annoy me about Hazbin and make me question, deep down, Vivzie's writing ability. And I was convinced she was a genius at the time.
Phencyclidine/PCP/angel dust was discovered in 1926, but it would have been extremely hard to procure when Angel was alive; I remember people theorizing he blew a chemist or something. It's a pretty gaping plot hole.
Another problem, and the one that always annoyed me, is that PCP is actually pretty hard to overdose to the point of death. You can, it's just that you'll go crazy long before you hit that dosage. You're far more likely to tear off your clothes and die charging and screaming at a cop.
People used to draw Angel's death and it would look like a cocaine overdose. In reality, Angel probably died doing this.

my favourite character in Hazbin Hotel, Phencyclidine. Who has never been shown being in withdraw.
And is basically never mentioned to have a drug habit (also the one scene in episode four doesn’t really count, because CRACK COCAINE DOESN’T CAUSE THE AFFECTS THAT ALCOHOL DOES! FOR FUCKS SAKE CRACK ISN’T EVEN A DEPRESSANT, IT’S A STIMULANT. Also crack can cause paranoia, seizures, aggression etc. It doesn’t act like alcohol, Vivziepop just doesn’t know anything about drugs, and yes drug use isn’t just a silly joke it ruins people’s lives, but Vivziepop doesn’t care!!!)
Also PCP, or Angel Dust, or Phencyclidine, was discovered in 1926 but the actual effects weren’t discovered until the 1950s. Ten years after Angel Dust died. So Angel Dust doesn’t have a PCP addiction, but he’s called Angel Dust for some fucking reason? That’s like naming your character Meth. It’s stupid and I hate it.
Fuck this show, fuck the was it portrays drug use, fuck the was it portrays voodoo, fuck the was it portrays rape. The entire thing is the writers poorly disguised fetish with a ton of cursing and a few (vaguely) well written characters.

Illicit methaqualone is one of the most commonly used recreational drugs in South Africa. Manufactured clandestinely, often in India, it comes in tablet form, but is smoked with marijuana. This method of ingestion is known as "white pipe".[20][21] It is popular elsewhere in Africa and in India.[21]
they still got ludes in south africa. also
The South African chemical weapons program investigated all the standard CW agents such as irritant riot control agents, lethal nerve agents and anticholinergic deliriants, which have been researched by virtually all countries that have carried out CW research. The South African program differed in its aims from the CBW programmes of many countries in that a major focus of the program was to develop nonlethal agents to help suppress internal dissent.[3]: 77–109  That led to the investigation of unusual nonlethal agents, including illicit recreational drugs such as phencyclidine (PCP), MDMA, methaqualone (quaaludes) and cocaine, as well as medicinal drugs such as diazepam (valium), midazolam, ketamine, suxamethonium and tubocurarine, as potential incapacitating agents. According to the testimony given by Wouter Basson to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission,[6] analogues of the compounds were prepared and studied, and both methaqualone and MDMA (along with the deliriant BZ) were manufactured in large quantities and successfully weaponised into a fine dust or aerosol form that could be released over a crowd as a potential riot control agent. Basson was later found to have also been selling large quantities of MDMA and methaqualone as tablets on the black market, but the amount manufactured was far larger than what was sold, and the court accepted that at least some genuine weaponisation and testing of the agents had been done.

I remember talking with someone about it in 2019 or 2020 but why the hell is Anthony called Angel Dust?
And before you go and tell me the obvious, yes, I know he overdosed and went comatose. But he died in 1947. And PCP (phencyclidine - so called 'Angel Dust') was initially made in 1956 and used as anesthetic. It was used as a street drug in 1960's? 1970's? And Anthony was dead way before that.
The only reasons I see for this are:
- he overdosed something else but was very fond of PCP in Hell since it works as an NMDA receptor antagonist and it would help him escape reality he had to deal with
- Angel Dust was a "cool name" for a character being addicted to drugs that is literally living in Hell
- Vivzie just didn't take years into consideration and didn't know there would be people like me who would actually care about "some strange kind of accuracy"
- She somehow (probably) just didn't know about the year it was made, just how it works and that it was quite popular (mostly in United States).
Yes, I know most people don't give a shit. And it fits the character, don't get me wrong! I just still find this strange. Maybe because I dislike anachronistic things..?
I luv Anthony tho!!

Have you ever taken speed, LSD or angeldust? If yes, how did that go?
And then people complain again that all I ever talk about is drugs, when people keep asking me about it. Not my fault, so don't you all dare to complain again.
I might or might not have tried them. Amphetamine aka speed is very similiar to cocaine given it's a stimulant drug as well, increasing focus and making everything clearer. LSD and phencyclidin (Angeldust) are both hallucinogenic, however PCP is also an anaesthetic and painkiller, similiar to ketamin. Hallucinogens can help with the mind palace sometimes, however if it turns into a horror trip then it's hellish. Microdosing also works with LSD and doesn't lead to hallucinations but can increase mood and performance.

Why do people take ketamine crystals?
Ketamine is thought to be used by vets to sedate horses, but somehow it’s made its way into a multiple of our (much smaller) bodies. If you’re guessing about taking it, here’s what you require to know to stay safe while having a satisfactory time.
It’s a powerful anesthetic, the sort of thing they use to knock you out in hospital multiplied by A LOT. Vets use it to sedate horses. If humans take it, it works as a painkiller. It can furthermore result in amnesia.
What does ketamine look like?
The impression of ketamine varies according to the way it’s taken. Normally speaking, it’s a white powder a.k.a ketamine powder. If you ever see yourself thinking ‘what does ketamine glimpse like’ to figure out if you should take the drug, it’s likely safest to drive clear. It’s significant to know what you’re putting in your body.
Why do people take ketamine?
In large doses, ketamine crystals create consequences in humans similar to phencyclidine (PCP) such as dream-like dissociative states and hallucinations. It has a numeral of contradictory effects, comprising stimulant, sedative, anesthetic, and hallucinogenic properties. Users describe feeling like they are drunk, stoned, and tripping all at once.
Ketamine is a novel treatment alternative for chronic pain that has been gaining popularity in recent years. Also, gives rapid and sustainable improvements in pain and working for some people with chronic pain conditions.
Tumblr media
From us at the Ketamine shop, you can purchase real and authentic Ketamine crystals. It is the power of Ketamine. Get apparent and graded Ketamine powder at a fair price. Powder Ketamine is generally snorted fast by the majority of users. Ketamine users usually talk about taking a bump, which means snorting a small dose.
Also, studies suggest that ketamine crystals work by acting on specific types of receptors in the brain and spinal cord to block pain signals. Therefore, suggesting that ketamine has other effects. Modulating the release of neurotransmitters like serotonin and glutamate, which may furthermore assist to help pain symptoms.

Understanding DOT Drug Screening: A Comprehensive Guide
Introduction The Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screening program is a vital safety initiative ensuring a drug-free transportation workforce. It applies to industries like trucking, aviation, railroads, and public transit, safeguarding both employees and the public. This article provides an in-depth look at DOT drug screening, its purpose, procedures, and implications.
What is DOT Drug Screening? DOT drug screening refers to federally mandated drug tests conducted for safety-sensitive transportation employees. Governed by DOT regulations (49 CFR Part 40), these tests identify substance abuse that could impair an employee's ability to perform critical tasks safely.
Who Needs DOT Drug Screening? DOT drug tests are mandatory for employees in roles deemed safety-sensitive, including:
Commercial truck drivers (CDL holders)
Pilots and aviation crew
Railroad employees
Transit operators
Maritime workers
Drugs Tested Under DOT Regulations DOT drug screening primarily tests for five drug classes:
Marijuana
Cocaine
Amphetamines and methamphetamines
Opiates (including heroin)
Phencyclidine (PCP)
When Are DOT Drug Tests Conducted? DOT drug tests are conducted in several situations:
Pre-employment: Before starting a safety-sensitive position.
Post-accident: Following qualifying accidents involving injury, fatality, or significant vehicle damage.
Random Testing: Conducted without prior notice.
Reasonable Suspicion: Based on observable signs of impairment.
Return-to-Duty and Follow-Up: For employees who violated drug and alcohol policies.
Testing Procedures DOT drug testing typically involves urine sample collection under strict guidelines to ensure accuracy and prevent tampering. Key steps include:
Sample collection by a certified technician.
Laboratory analysis using advanced techniques.
Review by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) for confirmation of positive results.
Consequences of Non-Compliance Failing a DOT drug test or refusing to take one can lead to severe consequences, including:
Immediate removal from safety-sensitive duties.
Mandatory substance abuse counseling and rehabilitation programs.
Potential job loss or career restrictions.
Why DOT Drug Screening Matters DOT drug screening plays a crucial role in:
Reducing accidents caused by impaired judgment.
Enhancing public confidence in transportation safety.
Promoting a culture of accountability and professionalism.
Conclusion DOT drug screening is more than a regulatory requirement—it's a commitment to safety and responsibility in the transportation industry. Understanding its significance and adhering to its protocols ensures a safer environment for everyone involved.

How Drugs Induce Profound Changes In Perception?
Drug addiction is a condition, which can cause a lot of difficulty to the person consuming it as well as others around them. We are one of the leading providers of Drugs addiction treatment in Mumbai, as we have access to all the latest tools and technology. We value the trust of the clients, that is the reason why we have become famous all around. Today, in this blog, we are going to shed some light on how drugs induce these profound changes in perception.
Tumblr media
1. Neurotransmitter Disruption
Many drugs that causes hallucinations affect the brain's neurotransmitter systems, which are responsible for communication between neurons.
Serotonin: Hallucinogenic drugs like LSD, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), and MDMA (ecstasy) primarily affect serotonin receptors. They mimic serotonin or increase its release, leading to altered mood, perception, and cognition.
Dopamine: Drugs like cocaine and amphetamines increase dopamine levels, which can lead to heightened sensory perception and hallucinations.
Glutamate: NMDA receptor antagonists like PCP (phencyclidine) and ketamine affect the glutamate system, disrupting normal brain function and leading to dissociative states and hallucinations.
2. Altered Sensory Processing
Drugs can interfere with how sensory information is processed in the brain, leading to hallucinations.
Thalamus and Cortex Interaction: The thalamus acts as a relay center for sensory information. Hallucinogens can disrupt the normal flow of information between the thalamus and the cortex, causing distorted sensory perceptions.
Visual Cortex: Drugs affecting the visual cortex can lead to vivid visual hallucinations, such as seeing patterns, colors, or shapes that aren't there.
3. Disrupted Brain Connectivity
Hallucinogenic drugs can alter the connectivity between different regions of the brain, leading to unusual sensory experiences.
Default Mode Network (DMN): The DMN is involved in self-referential thoughts and daydreaming. Drugs like LSD and psilocybin reduce the activity of the DMN, leading to a breakdown of the sense of self and more vivid hallucinations.
Hyperconnectivity: Increased connectivity between different brain regions can result in synesthesia, where stimulation of one sensory pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in another pathway (e.g., seeing sounds or hearing colors).
