The anon that mentioned when Vox died made me wonder if there were more inconsistencies…I don’t know if this is the official canon but some sources say that Angel Dust just overdosed and the drug isn’t specified but a lot of sources also say he overdosed on the drug he’s named after.
PCP, or “Angel Dust” wasn’t invented until the 50s and didn’t start to be used recreationally until around the 60s.
Angel Dust apparently died in the 1940s.
If his cause of death was just an overdose of another drug I guess that would be fine but a lot of wikis and comments seem to say he died of a PCP overdose.
This is shit I found out with two seconds of research. Does Vivziepop just? Not due any research or think critically about her characters backgrounds at all??
Source-https://www.banyantreatmentcenter.com/2021/08/23/pcp-history-pompano/
Okay, true story, this was the first thing to ever annoy me about Hazbin and make me question, deep down, Vivzie's writing ability. And I was convinced she was a genius at the time.
Phencyclidine/PCP/angel dust was discovered in 1926, but it would have been extremely hard to procure when Angel was alive; I remember people theorizing he blew a chemist or something. It's a pretty gaping plot hole.
Another problem, and the one that always annoyed me, is that PCP is actually pretty hard to overdose to the point of death. You can, it's just that you'll go crazy long before you hit that dosage. You're far more likely to tear off your clothes and die charging and screaming at a cop.
People used to draw Angel's death and it would look like a cocaine overdose. In reality, Angel probably died doing this.

my favourite character in Hazbin Hotel, Phencyclidine. Who has never been shown being in withdraw.
And is basically never mentioned to have a drug habit (also the one scene in episode four doesn’t really count, because CRACK COCAINE DOESN’T CAUSE THE AFFECTS THAT ALCOHOL DOES! FOR FUCKS SAKE CRACK ISN’T EVEN A DEPRESSANT, IT’S A STIMULANT. Also crack can cause paranoia, seizures, aggression etc. It doesn’t act like alcohol, Vivziepop just doesn’t know anything about drugs, and yes drug use isn’t just a silly joke it ruins people’s lives, but Vivziepop doesn’t care!!!)
Also PCP, or Angel Dust, or Phencyclidine, was discovered in 1926 but the actual effects weren’t discovered until the 1950s. Ten years after Angel Dust died. So Angel Dust doesn’t have a PCP addiction, but he’s called Angel Dust for some fucking reason? That’s like naming your character Meth. It’s stupid and I hate it.
Fuck this show, fuck the was it portrays drug use, fuck the was it portrays voodoo, fuck the was it portrays rape. The entire thing is the writers poorly disguised fetish with a ton of cursing and a few (vaguely) well written characters.
#tw drugs#hazbin hotel critical#vivziepop critical#vaguely a redesign#But I’m not tagging that#For context#But angel dust the character is addicted to crack#Also hi I know to much about drugs

Illicit methaqualone is one of the most commonly used recreational drugs in South Africa. Manufactured clandestinely, often in India, it comes in tablet form, but is smoked with marijuana. This method of ingestion is known as "white pipe".[20][21] It is popular elsewhere in Africa and in India.[21]
they still got ludes in south africa. also
The South African chemical weapons program investigated all the standard CW agents such as irritant riot control agents, lethal nerve agents and anticholinergic deliriants, which have been researched by virtually all countries that have carried out CW research. The South African program differed in its aims from the CBW programmes of many countries in that a major focus of the program was to develop nonlethal agents to help suppress internal dissent.[3]: 77–109 That led to the investigation of unusual nonlethal agents, including illicit recreational drugs such as phencyclidine (PCP), MDMA, methaqualone (quaaludes) and cocaine, as well as medicinal drugs such as diazepam (valium), midazolam, ketamine, suxamethonium and tubocurarine, as potential incapacitating agents. According to the testimony given by Wouter Basson to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission,[6] analogues of the compounds were prepared and studied, and both methaqualone and MDMA (along with the deliriant BZ) were manufactured in large quantities and successfully weaponised into a fine dust or aerosol form that could be released over a crowd as a potential riot control agent. Basson was later found to have also been selling large quantities of MDMA and methaqualone as tablets on the black market, but the amount manufactured was far larger than what was sold, and the court accepted that at least some genuine weaponisation and testing of the agents had been done.

I remember talking with someone about it in 2019 or 2020 but why the hell is Anthony called Angel Dust?
And before you go and tell me the obvious, yes, I know he overdosed and went comatose. But he died in 1947. And PCP (phencyclidine - so called 'Angel Dust') was initially made in 1956 and used as anesthetic. It was used as a street drug in 1960's? 1970's? And Anthony was dead way before that.
The only reasons I see for this are:
- he overdosed something else but was very fond of PCP in Hell since it works as an NMDA receptor antagonist and it would help him escape reality he had to deal with
- Angel Dust was a "cool name" for a character being addicted to drugs that is literally living in Hell
- Vivzie just didn't take years into consideration and didn't know there would be people like me who would actually care about "some strange kind of accuracy"
- She somehow (probably) just didn't know about the year it was made, just how it works and that it was quite popular (mostly in United States).
Yes, I know most people don't give a shit. And it fits the character, don't get me wrong! I just still find this strange. Maybe because I dislike anachronistic things..?
I luv Anthony tho!!

Introduction
Drug testing plays a crucial role in various aspects of life, from legal matters to sports competitions. Whether for child custody disputes, athlete screenings, or workplace compliance, drug tests provide clear and reliable results. In this guide, we explore different types of drug tests and their significance in legal and athletic contexts.
Drug Testing for Custody Cases
Drug Testing for Custody Cases to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Family courts may order drug tests when one parent raises concerns about substance abuse affecting parenting capabilities. The types of drug tests used in custody cases include:
Urine drug tests: The most common and cost-effective option.
Hair follicle tests: Detects drug use up to 90 days prior.
Saliva tests: Identifies recent drug use within hours to a few days.
Blood tests: Provides the most accurate and immediate results.
Courts typically require regular testing as part of custody agreements to ensure continued sobriety. Learn more about legal drug testing at Drug Testers.
Drug Testing for Athletes
Drug Testing for Athletes, both professional and amateur, must undergo drug testing to ensure fair play and adherence to anti-doping regulations. Sports organizations, including the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), have strict policies on banned substances. Common drugs tested include:
Performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs): Steroids, stimulants, and human growth hormones.
Recreational drugs: Marijuana, cocaine, and other narcotics.
Prescription drugs: If misused or taken without a medical prescription.
Athletes may be subject to random testing or scheduled screenings before competitions. Failing a drug test can lead to disqualification, suspension, or lifetime bans. Check out professional drug testing services at Drug Testers.
5-Panel Drug Test
A 5-panel drug test is one of the most commonly used screenings, especially in workplaces and legal cases. It detects:

Understanding DOT Consortium, Drug Testing, and Consulting Services
The Department of Transportation (DOT) has strict regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing to ensure the safety of transportation employees and the general public. Organizations and employers subject to DOT regulations must comply with drug and alcohol testing programs, often through DOT consortiums and consulting services. Here’s a breakdown of key components related to DOT drug testing and consulting services.
What is a DOT Consortium?
A DOT consortium is a group of employers who join together to conduct drug and alcohol testing as required by DOT regulations. Consortiums help small and medium-sized businesses comply with DOT drug testing requirements without managing individual testing programs.
Benefits of a DOT Consortium:
Compliance with DOT regulations
Cost-effective drug testing solutions
Management of random testing selections
Simplified administration of testing programs
Reporting and record-keeping assistance
DOT Drug Testing
DOT drug testing is a mandatory requirement for employees in safety-sensitive positions, such as commercial drivers, airline workers, and railway employees. DOT testing follows strict protocols outlined in 49 CFR Part 40, ensuring standardized procedures and reliable results.
Commonly Tested Substances:
Marijuana
Cocaine
Opiates (heroin, morphine, codeine)
Amphetamines and methamphetamines
Phencyclidine (PCP)
When is DOT Drug Testing Required?
Pre-employment Testing: Before hiring a safety-sensitive employee.
Random Testing: Conducted periodically for active employees.
Post-Accident Testing: Required after serious accidents.
Reasonable Suspicion Testing: If an employer suspects drug or alcohol use.
Return-to-Duty Testing: After a violation of drug and alcohol policies.
Follow-up Testing: Conducted as part of an employee’s return-to-duty process.
DOT Consulting Services
DOT consulting services help employers navigate compliance requirements, manage testing programs, and maintain up-to-date policies. Consulting services may include:
Policy development and implementation
Employee training on DOT drug and alcohol regulations
Compliance audits and program assessments
Assistance with DOT compliance reviews and investigations
DOT Consortium Programs
DOT consortium programs offer a structured approach to managing drug and alcohol testing for multiple employers. These programs ensure compliance with DOT regulations by providing:
Access to a pool of qualified employees for random testing
Coordination of laboratory testing and result reporting
Support with Medical Review Officer (MRO) processes
Guidance on DOT audit preparation
Medical Review Officer (MRO) for Drug Testing
A Medical Review Officer (MRO) is a licensed physician responsible for reviewing and verifying drug test results. The MRO ensures that test results are interpreted accurately and that any positive results are legitimate, taking into account medical prescriptions and potential errors in testing.
Roles of an MRO:
Reviewing and verifying lab results
Interviewing employees regarding positive test results
Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations
Providing expert testimony in disputes related to drug testing
Conclusion
DOT drug testing and compliance programs are essential for maintaining safety in transportation industries. Whether through a DOT consortium, consulting services, or the guidance of a Medical Review Officer, employers can ensure adherence to regulations while maintaining a drug-free workplace. By leveraging these resources, businesses can simplify compliance, reduce liability, and enhance workplace safety.

In 2026 it will have been 100 years since phencyclidine (PCP) was discovered. Think DXM is 1948? I know ketamine is 1962, and one of my favorite facts in the world that I don’t think means much to anyone else is that afaik, the first documented incident of recreational DXM use happened in 1962.

Comprehensive Guide to Drug Testing: What You Need to Know
Drug testing plays a crucial role in various fields, from employment and athletics to legal and healthcare settings. Understanding different types of drug tests and their applications can help individuals and employers navigate testing procedures effectively. Below, we explore key aspects of drug testing and its importance across multiple sectors.
Drug Testing for Custody Cases
In custody disputes, courts may require drug testing to determine parental fitness. A positive drug test can significantly impact custody decisions, as courts prioritize the child's welfare. Common tests include urine, hair follicle, and blood tests, ensuring accurate detection of substance use.
Drug Testing for Athletes
Drug Testing for Athletes are subject to stringent drug testing to ensure fair competition. Organizations like the NCAA, WADA, and professional sports leagues conduct routine screenings for performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) and recreational substances. Tests typically involve urine and blood samples to detect prohibited substances.
5-Panel Drug Test
A 5-panel drug test is one of the most common screening methods, detecting:
Marijuana (THC)
Cocaine
Opiates (heroin, morphine, codeine)
Amphetamines (methamphetamine, Adderall)
Phencyclidine (PCP)
Employers and legal agencies often use this test due to its efficiency and reliability.
10-Panel Drug Test
A 10-panel drug test expands on the 5-panel test by including:
Benzodiazepines
Barbiturates
Methadone
Propoxyphene
Methaqualone (Quaaludes)
This comprehensive screening is preferred in safety-sensitive industries such as healthcare and law enforcement.
Drug Testing for Legal Purposes
Drug tests are frequently required in legal cases, including probation compliance, DUI offenses, and workplace disputes. Courts rely on urine, hair, and blood testing to ensure individuals adhere to legal requirements and remain substance-free.
Drug Testing for Healthcare Workers
Healthcare professionals must undergo regular drug testing to maintain patient safety. Hospitals and clinics conduct pre-employment and random drug screenings to prevent impairment on the job. A positive result can lead to job termination or professional license suspension.
Drug Testing for Construction Jobs
The construction industry enforces strict drug testing policies to minimize workplace accidents. Employees undergo pre-employment, post-accident, and random drug tests to ensure a drug-free environment, enhancing overall safety and productivity on-site.
How to Pass a Drug Test
Passing a drug test depends on several factors, including the type of test and the frequency of drug use. Key strategies include:
Abstaining from drug use well before testing
Staying hydrated to aid detoxification
Using detox products (with caution, as some are unreliable)
Practicing good personal hygiene for hair follicle tests
It's crucial to follow ethical guidelines and avoid tampering with samples, as this can lead to test failure and further consequences.
Drug Testing for Government Jobs
Government positions often require rigorous drug screening processes. Agencies conduct pre-employment and random drug tests to ensure employees adhere to federal regulations. Failure to pass can result in disqualification or termination, depending on the agency’s policies.
Drug Testing for Truck Drivers
The Department of Transportation (DOT) mandates drug testing for commercial truck drivers to ensure road safety. Drivers must pass pre-employment, post-accident, random, and reasonable suspicion drug tests to comply with DOT regulations and maintain their commercial driver's license (CDL).
