I play him in a game with my brothers where we low key act like a travelling circus of bullshit. He’s a cowboy (artificer/ fighter) who wishes this found family would un-find him. The Plasmoid sorcerer keeps calling him their dad.

Shout out to when we played through the lost mines and Kepler tried to shoot a goblin, I rolled a nat 20 and it just blew up into a mist of blood.

had a sudden urge to draw my girl and thought making a pc sheet for the forgotten au. very straightforward tbh, she was surviving just fine in robin's faction for a good while since the start of the apocalypse, but then she got pregnant from an assault :(( (not by any named NPCs) so now she has to worry over some little ones.

whats worse is that there had been some pregnant members in robin's faction that had been attacked lately during the night by some unnoticeable people (the cannibals have taken a liking to the taste of pregnant women). it's caused a lot of stress for her and so she decided to leave and join whitney's group just long enough to give birth to the little ones. (did not expect to fall for the asshole leader at all nope -)

her plan afterwards was initially to go back to robin's faction and raise the children there, but she wondered if this was actually the best idea. after speaking with the scouts in whitney's faction, it was actually discovered that the forest was quite in tact and seems to be untouched/unnoticed by the attacks (she has no way to verify this information), and so decided that afterwards, she'll make her way to the forest. hehe, not quite sure if she decides to go through with it or not, perhaps a bad enough fight with whitney might cause her to run off with the kids 👀

I would expect nothing less to be honest with you. you know that one scene in math where one kid looks at you in math and Whitney goes nuts??? I made it worse (this is gonna veer off into violence hope that's cool. also gonna trigger tagging this for blood/yan antics/gn pc/Whitney shenanigans.)

Whitney is always a menace. He has just been getting steadily worse. Usually, he's a big fan of whoring you out when he can for cash or approval from his less-than-stellar friends, but even that's come to a rather strange halt. He's more interested in spending time with you alone now. He even started to ditch school taking you with him. 

You’re actually starting to worry about him. He's barely the same guy you met at the start of the year. He's still an asshole sure. But he is /different/. More people are starting to avoid you. And they whisper Whitney's name when you walk by, even when you're alone. People don't dare touch you or even talk to you anymore. Even some of the teachers have started ignoring you. You can't shake the feeling that this is all by design somehow. 

It all comes to a head in the middle of math, however. River gets called away to attend to something, but you're not sure what, You weren't listening as you lean into Whitney's shoulder. He plays with your hair gently and zones out. He's not in the mood for chaos today. He likes the feeling of you relaxed against him.

When you look around the room just for a brief moment you tense. A boy is staring at the two of you. This seems to jolt Whitney back from his daydream and he immediately spots the boy. His face contorts into a scowl as his grip on your hair tightens. 

“Why are you staring at them?” *his voice is loud though he doesn't yell. His gaze is locked on the boy and the class goes silent as they look over at Whitney. Then their poor classmate as Whitney waits for an answer. 

Everyone knows there's no correct response. He's doomed. He's been caught /looking/ at something that's Whitney’s.

The boy stutters a bit. But no comprehensible words come out. Whitney pushes you back into your own seat and nods to one of his friends before he charges the poor student. It’s not long before the boy starts to cry out for help. At first, people are laughing or cheering. It’s fun when it’s not happening to them, but soon The screams and cracks of Whitney's fist against the boy only get worse as time goes on. Whitney's friend guards the door making sure no one leaves. The cheers die out the class watches as Whitney goes far beyond a regular beating. 

You can see it, Whitney is still enraged. He's biting down on his own lip so hard that its started to bleed. His fist is dusted with bruises and his victim's blood. His forehead is covered in sweat as he finally pulls back. The classroom is still silent apart from the haggard breathing of the boy. whitney straightens out his shirt and looks down at the boy before spitting on him before returning to you. He pulls you up by the arm dragging you out of the classroom. No one tries to stop him as he leaves. 

You don’t know what to say to him as you're pulled to the front gates of the school. Should you say anything? Should you have stopped him? Could you have stopped him? Whitney's grip tightens on your wrist as he takes you down into the alleys near the school. He shoves you up against the wall before leaning down and kissing you deeply. 

You can taste the blood in his mouth he seems to want you too as he holds you still against the alley wall. When he pulls back your panting, Whitney finally smirks. It's that cocky playful look that you haven't seen in weeks. He seems to have finally relaxed a bit as he brushes his hair out of his face with one hand the other still holding you still. 

“We should probably skip the rest of the day. I doubt anyone is going to rat on me, but I don't feel like answering any questions right now.” Whitney says before he rubs his bloody knuckles off on his shirt, It wasn't clean before but it looks worse smeared with blood. He tilts your head up slightly grinning “But it's worth it” he promises. “No one is going to ever look at you again.”

Forever Winter: Not Just a Taylor Swift song

So there's this game that's going to be coming out in 2025 (or possibly the year after that...) called Forever Winter. Here's two trailers for it:

Any game that depicts warfare not as a power fantasy but as a living nightmare moves society towards a more peaceful future.

The general premise of Forever Winter is that you play as scavengers during an armed conflict in the future. You need to infiltrate battlefields, locate and collect resources, and then extract with the resources. The stuff you bring back helps refugee communities survive and gets your scavenger better equipment. You can arm your scavengers with a variety of firearms, as well as biomechanical body augmentations. But you'll never be strong enough to challenge the more powerful militaries fighting each other, so you'll always have to sneak around them. When your scavenger dies, you get a new one and send them out into the warzone to continue working.

From what I can see, the enemy units will be: Zombie hordes, infantry squads, helicopters, tanks, mechs, big mechs, even bigger mechs, and god dang land-ships. It also looks like there's going to be flying cows...

why is there a cow suspended from a balloon?

I don't know.

I'm imagining that there are tubes running from the cows stomachs to the balloon. As the cow digests food, the balloon inflates and the cow becomes airborne. As the cow begins to starve, the balloon deflates and the cow descends to the ground again. If the cow is following seedlings carried by the wind then this method of locomotion would make sense. It would protect the cow from ground based threats like the zombies or land mines.

Hi! First of all kind greetings :-) I've been trying to learn about Jewish history, culture and religion for more than four years and been pretty sure I want to convert since at least three years. I've attended a service at a local (non-orthodox) Synagoge a few years ago but have not started conversion process or contacted a rabbi, at first because finding an Orthodox congregation close to me was a challenge. There is no contact info of any Rabbi online for security reasons, and I've yet to talk to any Rabbi in my city - even my last visit to the local shul was only communicated with a Gabbai. I've also studied Hebrew for quite a while now. My partner is Jewish Israeli and I've attended most holidays a few times over the last few years and also taken part (I was always invited). First of all I'm kind of scared to make the jump again and contact the congregation I've found I think would work for me because the last shul I visited rejected me three times before even attending a service as a visitor, no mention of giyur. Which each time was incredibly emotional for me. Also the security made me cry because they were so mean to me lol. I'm scared the orthodox shul would completely reject me, esp. because I know they (in my country) usually keep to themselves even more and are more wary of outsiders. I also feel guilty to "demand" to enter their space at this hard time, though I've wanted to do it long before this war. Do you (or your followers) have any tips on how to first approach the congregation at this difficult time? That congregation and their members have faced attacks several times since the war. The only way to contact anyone at that congregation is through a generic info@xxx email. I don't know why I'm so ashamed to contact them. I feel like I'm in such a weird limbo since a few years and I just want to break out of it and start the process. Should I be upfront with my intentions from the beginning or first make a more generic request? Sorry for the long ask. Any thoughts or tips are welcome 🙏🩷🌸

I want to start this by saying I'm really sorry - I can only imagine how stressful this all is. I'm also really proud of you! I can only hope that you are fulfilled when you engage with judaism <3

When I contacted my conservative shul, I emailed them and was upfront - I can't remember what I said, but I was completely open about wanting to attend services, that I had never been to shul, and that I wanted to be part of the community (I didn't outright mention conversion though). They ended up calling me directly because they didn't see the emails at first, as well. When I emailed my rabbi, I was also rather frank and upfront - I detailed how exactly I engaged with my community, what extracurricular I do (hebrew class, ITJ, and others). I would honestly consider letting them know that you've extensively engaged with the community. I think it can give them a better idea about your intentions in the sense that it's obvious that you've already done so much. It (probably) won't hasten the official conversion process, but what it will do is help you to find your footing quicker, I think.

I don't know your situation, of course, so please engage with this insofar as using this as inspiration. I would absolutely see about getting as many people involved as possible as a support system - one of the hardest things to learn (at least I think) is to not think of this as entitlement, but moreso as connection. We need each other. We can't (well, shouldn't) study Torah alone, we can't build community alone, and we can't live a full life alone. I think we (as those who've converted/are converting) get caught in our thoughts and worries, and I just want to emphasize that you have done nothing wrong by wanting to be jewish, and, indeed, while there is a process to converting, there are people who want (and maybe personally feel they need) to help - you'd truly be surprised! It's obvious that you absolutely want to be sensitive and respectful - I say use that energy as affirmation, rather than holding yourself back by it. What I mean by that is have confidence that you are doing your best - you might stumble, but with the way you're talking, I can tell where your heart is. I think people will also recognize that, and people are going to be more willing to help when they can tell that you've been trying so hard. That's been a lesson that I needed to learn, and it's one that I wanted to share with you.

Y'all have been asking some hard-hitting questions, and I want to thank you for entrusting me to type all of this out. I know how vulnerable it feels, and it fills me with warmth to know that the long-standing tradition of building jewish community is one we can participate in together. You are not an island - I want us to join together. I know this answer is not sufficient on its own, but I hope that maybe at the least, you might feel seen and cared for. I hope those who have more similar experiences could perhaps also speak to it. I wish you the best of luck, and please feel free to come back. There's no shame here, and I hope you can feel welcomed in this space
