Minneapolis central Library has some awesome OZ items! Sheet music from the 1903 MUSICAL! and a Broadway book about classic posters! I love the musicals songs even if they're odd and dated. Scarecrows song is great.

In honor of our very first sneak peek of the movie Wicked, my nostalgia kicked into high gear and I'm honoring one of my earliest fandom crazes with a silly little comic I'm calling "Fiyero Doesn't Get Enough Recognition For All The Shit He's Been Through."

"yeah but why couldn't they tell Glinda that they are alive" BECAUSE THE NARRATIVE WON'T LET THE CHARACTERS HAVE NO CONSEQUENCES!!!!!THATS THE TRAGEDY OF WICKED!!! THAT'S THE BITTERSWEET ENDING!!! glinda HAS to face the consequences of her actions and has to pay a price if she wants to start being actually good! there's a price to pay for her promotion of the propaganda towards Elphaba and how she is partly to blame for Neesa's death. Glinda HAS TO FACE CONSEQUENCES FOR HER ACTIONS TO BE REDEEMED AND TO BE ACTUALLY GOOD. also everyone remembers a little song called " For Good"? Where Glinda and Elphaba talk about how because they knew each other they changed for good and from now on a part of themselves will be from the other? Glinda took accountability and responsibility, like Elphaba would have wanted. Elphaba thought about her personal safety and happy ending FIRST like Glinda would have done. They switched places bc of the impact they have in each others life. Yes i wish they got their happy ending together but that's what makes wicked so good!!! That these women loved each other fiercely even with all the objects in the world.

Haven’t seen the new Wicked movie yet, but I am forever impressed by the fact that someone saw the “Wizard of Oz” and was like:

“Hm. Yes. I see. Okay. The wicked witch and that scarecrow? They’re in love for sure.”

“The witch who sets him on fire?”

“It’s a complicated situation.”

You’re telling me Glinda and Elphaba see this little girl (Dorothy), who makes friends with their Husband (Fiyero) and their other friends (Boq/The Tin Woodsman and The Lion Elphie SAVED) and their first instinct is NOT to adopt her and teach her Witchcraft?

Like the shoe situation could have been handled so so differently and then Glinda and Elphaba could have hid Dorothy from the Wizard and taught her to be a new Witch to help them topple his empire for GOOD.

Sidenote: My headcanon is that Lion has no idea who "Fiyero" is but he couldn't resist jumping in when he saw Tin Man antagonizing Scarecrow.
