So it turns out there's a big craft guild organization thing only a few hours from where I live (I saw an ad for their craft fair), and I got like half my holiday shopping done on their website, and the box arrived today! The thing I was most excited to see in person is fragile, though, and it's really well wrapped in bubble wrap and I don't want it to break when I mail it to the friend it's for, so I am not unwrapping it, but oh man the temptation is there lol I also got myself a little metal bug made of a bottle cap and some wire. It lives on my little corkboard where I put postcards and thank you cards now
#the person behind the yarn#I have gotten a little sewing done today during my lunch break#but not much! not much#these unprecedented times sure are not good for my stress levels lol#but the indoor wasp is outdoor wasp again#and I managed to successfully request prescription refills from two of my doctors this week#(for different medications) so that was good! I'm allergic to an inactive ingredient used by most pharmacies in one med#so I have to get just that one medication from a different pharmacy chain and it throws doctors for a loop every time#other good things: I had the answers ready for a question my boss unexpectedly asked during a meeting today#when my dad last went shopping he got more kleenex and the boxes have flamingoes on them so that's cool!#uhhh my dad is volunteering more which means I get to help out more with some prep things for volunteering#which is great I miss volunteering but I can't do what I used to anymore#for the record I did make this post almost entirely to convince myself not to unwrap the super cool thing for my friend#the other small percentage is because I really like the metal bug#I want to make some metal bugs#I don't think I have any of whatever the artist used for filling the bottle cap but I have hot glue that'll probably work#...I think I'm going to make some metal bugs

On Friday I will work my last day at my male-dominated job where although I am the manager I am constantly belittled and not taken seriously by people both above and below me. And on Monday I will start my new job where the administration is all female and most of my coworkers are women and I have never been more concretely sure that something will make my daily life better
#and I’ll be working on a farm! growing crops! learning about sustainable agriculture!#as opposed to guiding outdoor trips once in a blue moon and doing office work 80% of the time#and obviously any job will have its hardships but man!! this feels like a level up#also like I do love my coworkers and many are my friends. it just also has become obvious that they are deeply misogynistic#with no intent to change and none of my complaining or explaining has changed that so!#hasta la vista#my boss being so sad to see me go like… bro you have not enforced respect for my position#working with all guys is like working with little kids

people often wonder why we adopted 6 entire cats but the answer is we did not adopt the cats. the cats adopted us the cats decided they live here now
#melly followed my parents home#4 month old leo yelled at my mom while she was walking the dogs#the poopies got dumped in our outdoor garage and claudio (the bravest) scouted out the humans for his brothers#(we gave one brother to a friend)#moishe literally just walked up to our porch one Saturday night and was like. i live here now#the only cat we technically adopted is Worm bc my old boss found her & her littermates outside her apartments#and brought them all to work (vet clinic) to be adopted out#but somehow it still feels like she saw me and decided i was mom now#txt

I have an audio recording of a one shot I played on Halloween (like 2 yrs ago i think) with kids in a program I was running. (I use to work with kids but I don’t anymore)
I was re-listening to it the other day cause it's 2 hrs long and i was like "what is this a recording of" and there are some hilarious jokes that are sometimes and sometimes not intentional.
I might make a list of them on a day that i would sit down and listen to two hours. I have to captions it anyways lol
The one that made me write this post was
“You don’t need to raise your hand, my dear. This is a normal conversation”
I like, sassed them into roleplaying?
It worked btw
They got so into character and immersed that they panick when they made an NPC cry and were amazed that we actually ran out of time. (They parents arrive just as things started really going lol)
