#Our Final Wish//Illumina and Firebrand

Illumina was trying to fix his attire when he heated the cry. His heart shattered hearing such a sound as that. He hated seeing other people cry….

He followed where the sound came from.

"I'm glad..." -> Firebrand was going to say more, but the small blue and white sheep demon came back, her stubby little legs carrying her the fastest they could. "H-Here, sir! This'll help you sleep...!" -> She smiles, her voice coming out soft and squeaky as she placed down a glass of some sort of bluish-purple liquid that had little white swirls and stuff in it. It kind of looked like those fancy latte art drinks.

Dom walks up to the temple and places both his hands on the door. He was in a black hood with a mask one to conceal his identity for on his way here.

“Grandfather?”

-> The king's temple was quiet, unusually quiet. Normally there'd be some kind of noise or something! Even the wandering will o wisps that inhabited Firebrand's domain seemed uneasy...

"Illumina! Are you ready to head out?" -> Ah yes... Brandy was here to take Illumina off on that "little adventure" for their collective birthday today! And it seems like someone else was here too... - @peaceful-inpherno [FIREBRAND ....And DARKHEART]

Illumina was dressed differently this time. If he was going out in public he didn’t want to be seen in the state he was yesterday. He was dressed in new robes along with a hood that went over his head.

It was an old outfit. The one he wore when all the swords were announced as deities. Something simple but still, it was Illumina’s style.

“Yes”

-> The king had remained in the same spot while cradling his sleeping brother, gently stroking the deity of light's hair as he waited for him to wake up. - @peaceful-inpherno

Illumina groans as he slowly opens his eyes, he was dazed with tiredness and doesn't notice whose arms he is in. His wing flaps a bit as he finds the warmth of Firebrand comforting and snuggles into him more.

-> The king touched down within his brother's temple, carrying him over to one of the many pools and slowly setting him down within the water. "There you go, Illumina... I know how much you like to soak in the water." - @peaceful-inpherno

Illumina whines and grabs onto Firebrand's sleeve. Sure, he did like soaking in water, but the sudden change in temperature from Firebrand's hot aura to the cold waters of his temple made him jump.

-> Firebrand watched as his mother melted back within the floor before looking down at Illumina, keeping his brother close as he turned to leave. "Don't worry, brother. I'll make everything better. This I promise to you."

"Mother?"

It's unusual to see The Spawn there before someone else. It usually appears when others do, but it was already there by the time Firebrand got there. It was sitting down on the glass floor at the Edge of Inpherno.

It's giant tail swayed against it in a repeated motion while the rings around it rotated slowly. It was waiting...

Life isn't fair...is it?

As the evening went smoothly following all of this. The others had a clear warning from Firebrand's great yelling. Oddly, Illumina felt confident enough to approach the others. The conversation with Ghostwalker was uneasy. Getting to meet his nephews was interesting, and Windforce was a great talk. Together, they comprised. Clearly since Firebrand pushed her but its still a way to bond nonetheless.

As Illumina turned to grab a drink from the table, a familiar but terrified face materialized….Darkheart;

“Lumi! So good to see you once more, beloved brother!

"...Darkheart..,"

"We just got the most fantastic idea! We reasoned we ought to make up! Put everything behind us!”

The smile of Darkheart grew to be quite terrifying. Illumina found himself shocked. His fluffed feathers in what he could only describe as utter delight! Oh he has long yearned for this!

"Really?"

His feathered tail wags and his eyes go bright. Though his body language suggested enthusiasm, Illumina lacked a smile.

"Even our dear friend Venomshank wants too! He is waiting in the courtyard should you like to join us. Little intoxicated, he still has right thinking!"

Though to the God of Purpose it was true, Darkheart seemed rather happy and...sweet. It was practically unsettling. Luminina...He had no idea he was succumbing to the biggest scheme Darkheart had ever developed.

"Yes! Wouldst love that more than anything!”

Two hurried went to the courtyard outside. Leaving Windforce and Firebrand to mingle among themselves. Not one other person observed except Ghostwalker. Still not interested, he chose to leave the dinner early. Darkheart was followed mindlessly by Illumina. The courtyard was dark; the path lights barely illuminated it. Illumina also liked the insects and flowers overtaking the space. It was always his favorite place in the main temple…

Once Illumina looked up Darkheart was gone. A few times he peered about calling Darkheart's name, then heard a snarl. Illumina sprang and quickly turned to face the sound. Venomshank on all fours…feral without his mask. Oh dear; he was beginning to lose it. He was reminded of his experience 200 years ago. Venomshank was ruthless when feral...No; it was not his fault. Still, it was terrifying nonetheless.

"Oh dear brother, did you really think we would let you return this way?"

Darkheart's voice resounded across Illumina as though from a chasm. He stayed fixed on the coming wild Venomshank. The wild deity lunged and golden blood splashed against the pavement…

"Life isn’t fair, is it?”

The deity was at the front doors of the main temple. His anxiety was leaking through his body. He was shaking...he felt like he was going to melt in front of everyone- no. He can't let that happen.

He knew he couldn't...he opened the doors after taking a deep breath. The light blinded him for a second and once he adjusted...all eyes were on him...

Was that a glass shattering?

With that the night progressed...although...the feeling of there being something wrong...was lingering

Firebrand shouts to make sure everyone around them hear it. Illumina now seemed uncomfortable…he hid himself behind his wing in shame. Big brothers are embarrassing sometimes.

Kind of glad Sword isn't involved with you guys anymore... -> Goes back over to Illumina and gently grabs his sleeve Hey Illumina... I'm starting to think it might not be safe here... Venomshank kinda... Wondered off and Darkheart thinks he might be going feral...? - @simply-windy

“He’s joking dear! Don’t worry about it! Venomshank is very careful with his emotions during times like these.”

Firebrand butts in. He had a giant too they smile painted on his lips. He was so excited he could burst. Illumina seemed to shrug and didn’t look worried. Even if it did happen Illumina has been practicing his sword fighting again. He can defend himself again.

“I’m sureeth we are fineth. Firebrand thinkest so.”

I really think you guys should be adults and y'know... ACTUALLY talk about what happened

I get what happened was awful and I'm not trying to say it wasn't!!! Believe me, I would be pissed off too. But it's been 200 years, Darkheart. Just TALK about it.

Darkheart throws the fish one on the table and goes where Venomshank did. The others seem to glance in your direction from Darkheart yelling before going back to what they were doing…more silently…

Didn't plan to... So, Darkheart, I can only imagine you're not too pleased that Lumi's here? Really only seems like Firebrand is happy!

He motions over to Illumina, happily talking to Firebrand.

“He even looks like he doesn’t care about what happened. Who shows up looking like that after what they did?!”

He tears into the fish more. It seems like Darkheart is just making excuses to hate Illumina… It was 200 years ago…

“He’s probably in a c'rn'r reading a booketh of some kind. Thee knoweth how he is..too shy.”

Ghostwalker was indeed in a corner, on a chair…reading a book. His tail was curled with anxiety and he seemed to have trouble focusing on the book.

I mean... You two can leave if you want to. Nothing, at least to my knowledge so do correct me if I'm wrong here, is keeping you two here... If you're genuinely uncomfortable in Lumi's presence then I doubt anyone's going to judge you guys if you up and left. - @simply-windy

Venomshank walked away, setting the glass on a table on his way out. He went out to the courtyard. He seemed upset in a way. Darkheart grumbles and sits down on a table, finishing up his fish.

"I wouldn't follow him. Might be going feral"

His face is stuffed full of fish.

Darkheart ripped out more flesh from the fish. The scales falling to the floor….those teeth must be extremely sharp…Venomshank seemed more calm than the other. He was holding a glass he couldn’t drink due to his mask.
