It was too much without Kiyoshi who plays the same position as him and who was, at the time, the strongest center in highschool.

With Kiyoshi, Seirin would have had a high chance at winning because, as Riko said in the same chapter, Shutoku's outside game was nothing special while it was a strong point of Seirin.

↘ The day promised to be calm and the weather was so warm, so pretty.

↘ While having a nice chat with a tall basketball player, you heard whispers on your right. The two women sitting next to you nervously looked at your person and talked about your outfit – tight pants with flared legs that perfectly emphasized your bottom and a blouse with a visible neckline. You loved classic combinations with a hint of extravagance and you always felt great in your body. Plus, it was a date with Junpei – of course you wanted to look sexy and feminine.

↘ You were about to say something as your back straightened and the chest was pushed forward, but your boyfriend was much faster.

↘ “It’s rude to talk about other people, especially in a restaurant. Why don’t you take care of your clothes instead of my girlfriend?” He asked with a disgusted smile, and the two women quickly hid behind the menu card. You giggled, taking your boyfriend’s hand and thanking him.

↘ It was a summer time, so you had to go to the beach in the company of your closest friends and their significant other. You spent most of your time on the blanket and sunbathing your body, occasionally chatting with the girlfriends of the rest of your boyfriend’s teammates... but still mostly focused on the sun, drinking water, and your boy who having a great time in the sea.

↘ “Y/N, let’s go to the water for a while.” Nakamura’s partner proposed with a big smile, and you just nodded slightly, adjusting the straw hat on your head and also the strings of your red swimsuit. In the meantime, you heard the screams of a woman who telling someone to not look at you.

↘ You looked towards the young woman and the man (probably her boyfriend or husband), then raised an eyebrow. The blonde stranger started telling him to stop staring and you’re not that pretty at all. You... just giggled.

↘ “... Why don’t you start working on your confidence instead of insulting me?” You just said, putting your hand on your hip, and the young woman’s cheeks took on the color of a ripe tomato. “With this attitude, I do not wish you a long relationship. I’m so sorry for you, man.” You said and then you and your friend walked towards the pleasant, warm water.

↘ You and Shoichi were invited to his childhood friend’s wedding. You liked the groom and the bride very much, but you felt the eyes of the maid of honour on you, who was looking enviously at your beautiful mid-thigh dress. The bottle green perfectly matched the colors of the room, your hairstyle and make-up, which is why you certainly caught the eyes of many people. In addition, the dress had an exposed back, slight creases on the thighs and silver elements that harmonized with the jewelry you had on your ears, neck and hands that evening. You looked divine.

↘ The bride’s witness, however, had a different opinion on this. From a distance, you could hear her gruff comments about you wanting to take your eyes off Yuri and her white, beautiful dress. Somewhere between the first and second toast, you also managed to hear that you look fat in your outfit and your shoes don’t match to the rest of your accessories. You just smiled at those words.

↘ “... Should I talk to her?” Your boyfriend asked calmly and you just shook your head.

↘ “Don’t worry, honey. I will do it.”

↘ He loves your style very very much and really doesn’t understand how another person (usually a woman) can talk to a strange girl like that.

↘ On that day you were on a trip to the mountains to celebrate your fourth anniversary of your relationship and your first anniversary as a engaged couple. The weather was beautiful and the views was so amazing. You still had less than an hour to drive to your accommodation, but you had to pee and Shuuzou decided to refuel his car. After using the toilet at the gas station, you decided to buy yourself and your boyfriend a small, warm snack. You ordered one hot dog with ketchup and mayo for your partner and a small grilled sandwich with your favorite toppings.

↘ It was hot that day, so shorts and a tank top were the perfect choice. And you could start to tan a little. Unfortunately, after paying for the meal and fuel, and after receiving the food, you heard a very unpleasant comment from one of the gas station customers; his disgusting comment about you looking like a pornstar with a dick in your hand made you immediately wanted to vomit. But your face showed anger and disappointment.

↘ “It’s sad that you have so little self-confidence and manhood that you have to insult others for their appearance. But go on. Maybe someday it will make you feel better.” You replied casually as you left the small building. Luckily, your boyfriend quickly cheered you up with a quick but tender kiss.

↘ Summer and warm evenings were the perfect time to go out to the club and party with trusted people. Together with Taisuke, his friends, as well as Takao and Miyaji partners, you chose a club where you could dance, use karaoke equipment, drink something and play bowling. You were in the middle of a little fight between you with your boyfriend and a blonde basketball player with his girlfriend (your bestie).

↘ For today’s outing, you decided to wear leather pants that perfectly emphasized your legs and butt, as well as a white, lace top with gold elements. On your feet you had the most ordinary sneakers and a black bandana on your head. Your outfit was described by Taisuke as ‘very sexy and I want to kiss you now’.

↘ You had a great time while playing and drinking drinks (alcohol or not). Halfway through your game, all the boys went to get more snacks and use the restroom. So you stayed with Junko and Sachiko and engaged in a pleasant conversation about plans for the next weeks of holidays. About the time your boyfriend and his friends left three of you, a group of four men entered the bowling alley. Seeing you and your friends, they immediately started throwing obscene comments at you all.

↘ “... Leather turn me on a lot. You must have worn that outfit to the club on purpose, huh?” The tall, black-haired teenager laughed out loud, and you frowned. You hated pushy men... or rather pushy and stupid boys. However, before you responded to the idiotic comment, your boyfriend and the other four returned to their place, immediately showing their dominance and superiority. The Shuutoku team was definitely more massive and taller than the four strangers, so they instantly fell silent.

↘ You were glad that you could count on the support of your boyfriend and friends.

My hawk eye spotted another poll to write propaganda for!

SHIN-CHAN??? Pfft- BWAHHAHHAAA! I didn't expect to see YOU again! Well, let's see what we can do (pun intended).

Midorima Shintarou (nicknamed Shin-chan by yours truly) is a first-year basketball player for Shutoku High School. His player position is a shooting guard, meaning his role on the team is to score points, and he does that really well after hours and hours and hours and HOURS of practice. Really! His dedication to the ball is like no other. His accuracy rate calculated by fans (as well as his friends Momoi and Riko) is almost 80% across what we were able to see from the games that were shown (take a look at the FG% column!). His 3-pointers are pretty scary in the court!

Like Aomine pointed out, Shin-chan can come off as cold and arrogant to people who first meet him. I mean, it makes sense. I lost my first game against him in the past because his team was too good, and he knew it. When I met him at Shutoku, though, his insistence on practicing after usual hours changed my opinion on him; that is, he had the hours of effort to back up his pride. Well, that doesn't mean we can't knock him down a peg or two, though. Miyaji-senpai and Otsubo-senpai, long-term players on the team, made sure that he stays with the rest of the team. After all, basketball is a team sport, and Shin-chan learned pretty quickly that teams win, not individuals. Pretty proud of his journey. But I digress! Look at how nicely we fit together as a team!

Hi! I wanna ask if you could please what would aomine and shin-chan’s team or like GOM react if Aomine and midorima is all mean and cold to them but he’s suddenly a bit softer on the reader, who is like the softest person ever~ I mean only if you want to of course hahahaha

Aomine: When they first see him with you, they all think their eyes stopped working properly. First of all, his s/o is such a cute person and Aomine himself is so soft for them? Impossible.

Momoi was the one who knew about your relationship earlier and shows off you two proudly while the others stare in disbelief.

Wakamatsu can’t believe what he’s seeing and is the person who spoils their hiding spot, exclaiming his shock and making Aomine annoyed when he realizes the whole team saw him being soft for you.

Imayoshi then decides to tease him and tries to persuade you to regularly visit their practices if it means Aomine would show up and act like this more often.

Sakurai watches the whole scene silently from the back, wondering how come someone so adorable like you managed to get into a relationship with the scary ace. It instantly makes him respect you.

Midorima: It was Takao’s idea to spy on you two and seeing his friend being so much different towards you, he barely manages to hold in laughter. He also starts recording your conversation after a while, receiving a smack from Miyaji.

Otsubo and Kimura listen to Midorima closely even though they were initially against spying on you. But hearing how the ace talked to you, an adorable person who apparently was his s/o, they couldn’t believe their ears.

They all held their breath noticing a small smile form on Midorima’s face when suddenly Takao burst out laughing and made you two look in the hiding group’s direction.

Miyaji was the one to approach and apologize to you, then turning to Midorima and not so calmly asking him to act like this towards them too. How you managed to break his cold façade was a mystery to all of them.

Puppy Love! Part 1: Rakuzan, Shutoku, and Kaijo

Rakuzan

Mibuchi shivers, wrapping his arms around his body. “…I feel like someone’s watching us.” he states, before eyeing Mayuzumi suspiciously.

“I’m not. You’re not my type.” Mayuzumi’s deadpan answer earns a snort from Nebuya.

“You afraid of ghosts or something, Reo?” Nebuya teases, laughing when the black haired basketball player humphs angrily, hands on his hips.

“I’m not scared of ghosts!”

“Reo-nee, ghosts are scary though!” Hayama shivers. “What if it’s a vengeful ghost that died in this gym or something years ago?!”

“They say if it knows your name, it’ll kill you.”

“Chi-chan??? Where’d you hear that?!” Mibuchi yelps, hands pressed to his chest. “No one say my name out loud!!”

“Mibuchi Reo.” Mayuzumi snaps, ignoring Mibuchi’s pained cry. “I read it in one of my light novels.”

“Arf.”

“WAHHH!!!” Mibuchi screams, and Hayama manages to leap out of the way at the last minute before Mibuchi completely crashes into the shorter male.

“Reo-nee, what on earth…” Hayama laughs, before noticing the new arrival at the entrance of the gym. “Is that…a dog?”

“Arf.” The dog replies with a bark. It was hard to explain, but the dog appeared to be calmly appraising the scene, sitting back on its haunches.

“Woah, look at its eyes!” Nebuya raced forward, peering down at the dog. “It’s got a red eye and a yellow one!”

The others all observed the dog, finally noticing the mismatched, heterochromatic orbs.

“…It reminds me of Akashi.” Mayuzumi finally murmurs.

“Woah, he really does!!” Hayama agreed. There was something rather majestic in the way that the white german shepard carried itself.

“Comparing me to a dog now, are you?”

“Eek…” The members all froze as they heard their captain approaching them from behind. “But it’s cute, Sei-chan!”

“I recall leaving you all to your training.” Akashi’s eyes flash briefly as he meets Mibuchi’s gaze. “I expected Eikichi, Reo, and Hayama to be up to these ridiculous things…but you as well, Chihiro?”

“…”

“Hm. Get back to training, unless you’d like to stay for an extra set.”

The threat is powerful enough for the members to quickly return to their practice, while Akashi remains, looking over his team.

“You there.” Akashi’s eyes flicker downwards, meeting the heterochromatic eyes of the dog sitting in front of him. “I expect you to behave as well, if you wish to stay.”

“…Arf.”

Shutoku

“Shin-chan, over here!!”

“Woah, good hit Shin-chan!”

Midorima could feel his frustration growing as he shot the basketball in his hand, tsking at it glanced off the side of the rim before making it through the basket. “Must you guys continue calling it by that ridiculous name?”

“He likes it though!” Takao replied, holding up the dark haired puppy in his hands. “His eyes are sooooo cute!!”  

It was by chance that the Shutoku members had discovered the dark haired puppy lingering outside the gym. It was even more interesting when they watched the puppy blink, eyes as green as Midorima’s hair. And thus…

“We’ll call you Shin-chan!!!” Takao had declared, and the other Shutoku members only found the situation amusing. Well, everyone but the puppy’s name sake, of course.

“Everyone seems a bit more excited.” Otsubo comments, watching his team clamoring for the puppy’s attention. “It’s a morale booster. So, please put up with it.”

“Huh? Where ya going Shin-chan?” Takao questioned as the puppy wiggled out of his hold, jumping onto the ground.

“Arrrrf.”

“What.” Midorima glared, staring down the puppy that had walked up to him, sitting at his feet.

“Arrf. Arrf.” The puppy seemed to chastise him, causing Midorima to bristle with annoyance. “I refuse to acknowledge you.” Midorima harrumph, pushing up his glasses with his left hand.

“Arrrf!”

“Woah, look at that thing jump!” Miyaji’s voice was incredulous as the puppy managed to jump up, smacking his paw against Midorima’s left hand.

Midorima stared down at the puppy who was meeting his gaze with it’s large, emerald-green eyes.

Turning back to the basket, Midorima threw the ball, this time making a perfect swish as it fell through the net.

“Arf.” The puppy seemed to be proud of itself, and Midorima swore it was smirking

“It wasn’t because of you.”

“Aww, look at the two Shin-chans getting along!!”

Kaijo

“You’re so cute!!” Kise squealed, holding the golden-fur puppy in his arms.

“Arf arf!!” The puppy wagged its tail excitedly, golden orbs sparkling in delight as he licked Kise’s face.

Kise felt his heart swell at the ball of fluff that had appeared in their gym, barking and tail wagging as it enthusiastically ran around the gym with the team as they warmed up for practice.

Letting the puppy down, Kise watched as he started bumping the basketballs with its paws, swatting and pushing the ball along the floor.

“What an adorable puppy. Girls like puppies, don’t they?” Moriyama’s eyes glimmered in interested as he leaned down towards the excitable puppy. “You and I shall go and meet some girls!!”

“Don’t be teaching the puppy weird things, baka!” Kobori snarled, pushing the back of Moriyama’s head.

“Arf arf!”

“But it wants to go, don’t you?” Moriyama cooed as the puppy continued barking, it’s little body trembling in excitement.

“God, this thing’s even more hyper than you, Hayakawa!”

“I won’t lose!!”

“Don’t pick a fight with a puppy, damnit!” Kobori sighed, watching Hayakawa staring down at the puppy with angry eyes.

Completely ignorant of the death glare he was receiving, the puppy only continued bouncing around, tilting its head cutely as it looked up at the members surrounding it.

“So cute so cute so cute!!” Kise continued squealing, before looking for his phone. “I need pictures!!”

“What is the big deal here?!” Kise yelped as Kasamatsu kicked him in the back of his legs. “Get back to practice!”

“Puppy-chan, don’t go to the scary mean person!” Moriyama cried out as the puppy suddenly took off in Kasamatsu’s directly, immediately pawing at the captain’s shorts.

“Why is there a dog here…” Kasamatsu grumbled, picking up the puppy by its scruff as he held it in front of his face. Suddenly, the puppy stuck out its tongue, licking the captain’s nose again and again.

“Oh no!” Kise yelled, scared that Kasamatsu was going to hurt the puppy. Instead…

“Tickles…” Kasamatsu pulled away from the puppy, setting him on the floor gently. “Hm. Guess you’re not too bad.”

“Yip!” Running circles around Kasamatsu’s feet, the puppy barked happily.

“..No fair, why can’t you treat me like that?!?” Kise whined, narrowly dodging another one of Kasamatsu’s famous kicks.

“Because you’re an annoying dumbass!”

MIDORIMA!!! as expected he's once again getting washed by his opponent! BUT! hope is not lost yet!! im gonna need your support again to make our favorite shooting guard turn this around!!

so what makes midorima so interesting? well in my last propaganda, i briefly mentioned him and his team, Shutoku! in case you forgot, there was a little scene of his teammates teasing him because he suggested to pass!

now wait, why is midorima saying he'll pass a funny thing? arent you supposed to pass in basketball? you'd be right! however, this is midorima we're talking about. one of the most prideful members of the "Generation of Miracles" (a group of basketball prodigies who greatly surpassed everyone around them). midorima does not pass. he only shoots and scores. (missing isnt even something you consider when dealing with midorima!)

in this scene, he's requesting to his coach (and team) that he wants everyone to pass him the ball for the second quarter, so that he may widen the gap between their team (Shutoku) and the opposing team (Seirin)! he wants to ensure his team's victory!

he's selfish, and the rest of the team knows this! though, with midorima's godly shooting abilities, they cant exactly keep him OFF the team, itd be a huge disadvantage! so how does his teammates cope with midorima's attitude? easy! they (except for Takao) are all upperclassmen! they have authority over him!! so they constantly tease and remind midorima that he cant get away with EVERY selfish request he makes! the scene below is his teammate's reaction to his request in the scene above!

but what makes midorima interesting is that as greedy as he is with the ball, he's not exactly a bad guy! he never gloats, never boasts or brags about his abilities. and everything his upperclassmen do to him he has absolutely NO qualms about! he takes it all like a champ!!

because deep down, he really IS a nice guy!! he knows his teammates are good. he has ALOT of respect for them! (and lets not even get started about Takao, his PARTNER!) and besides his team still cares about midorima, because they ARE willing to humor alot of his requests involving lucky items and many other silly things!

so yeah, midorima is a bit of a picky guy, but he's reliable. his team is reliable, and they all know it! so behind that serious exterior is a guy who can recognize and appreciate the people around him!
