This took me aboutttt five or six hours counting how long I worked on it last night and how long I worked on it today. SUPER proud of how this came out, it might be one of my most favorite pieces.

Used my sketch book, pack of crayola coloring pencils and a regular automatic led pencil ^^ ✨✨✨✨✨

ben pretty much immediately wanting to kill kevin after he absorbed the omnitrix in ultimate alien pisses me off. it kinda undermines all the progress they made over ua and alien force. i get the whole world is at stake but the whole world was at stake when he saved the guardian of the last piece of the infinity map even though he died/faded afterwards anyways. idk you can say this is him trying not to make the same mistake but this time its his friend, teammate, and his cousin's boyfriend so idk about that. weird decision.

I think the retcon and erasure of Osmosians as a species was a radical detriment to Ben10 as a whole. For one, Kevin's only interaction with his people prior to their erasure was a deranged mad man and Project Osmos turns the Plumbers Kids not into the result of loving and happy relationships, but weapons for war.

The term "Hatchling" implies that Osmosians mature and develop new features as the live the century spanning lives. Which could explain the nodules of Aggregor's head.

But keeping the premise could have led to a mini-arc involving Kevin finding Prof Paradox and asking to see his people to fully understand his power and how to control it. Imagine what Osmos must look like and how they'd maintain a planet with a population capable of absorbing the nature of elements to roar power from things like fire or lightning.

The fact Aggregor once called Kevin “hatchling” is something I think about sometimes

Fun Fact: The first the fandom heard of the term 'Osmosian' was in McDuffie's Q&A thread on his forum. Someone asked for Kevin's favorite music genre and got the response 'Osmosian Rock', which of course got all our attention and lead to asking if an 'Osmosian' is what Kevin was, which was then confirmed to be the case.

A lot of us there promptly lost our shit a little bit- excepting me, who lost their shit a lot and never stopped.

Theories about Professor Paradox

I know it's more likely due to UAF using similar facial models for the characters like Ben, Gwen and Natalie, but Paradox does look a lot like Devin, Kevin, Devlin and Aggregor. Strangely enough, Phil also looked like Kevin and Devin in his youth. I have seen the theory that Phil was Kevin's real father.

Paradox being related to Kevin may explain some things. It may explain why the celestialsapians forbid him from coming near them. Aggregor nearly absorbed one of their babies and Kevin considered doing it as well. If Paradox is an Osmosian too (if you prefer them being aliens) it would explain why they don't like him. He also acts a bit like a father to Kevin, fixing his car in his debut episode and warning him about mutating again. He seems too old to be Kevin's father but he could be his great grandfather.

My other theory on Paradox is a bit sadder. Paradox was a scientist working for the US government during the cold war. The characters ethnic or religious backgrounds are never specified but Levin is a Jewish name. Going with the idea of Paradox being related to Kevin, my theory is that Paradox, like Einstein and many other Jewish scientists, escaped Nazi Germany in the 1930s and was offered a professorship in the US. After the war, the government recruited him to work on creating a time portal leading him to where he was in his debut episode. Paradox would, in a way, get his dues by helping Ben and co save the universe from the highbreed attempting a similar genocide. His disgust towards guns, shown when he takes Rozum's pistol, may come from having escaped war, fought in a war and possibly knowing scientists who built nuclear weapons that killed hundreds such as the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This is the start of me posting my Ben 10 swap au. First up is Ben.

In my swap, au Ben is the osmosian who Gwen and Kevin meet in the arcade. He is still related to Gwen but Gwen doesn't remember him. Ben like Kevin ran away from home and absorbs the watch energy causing him to go crazy. Ben goes on to try and kill Gwen like Kevin did but he is smarter about his attacks on her.

In the episode "Framed" Ben doesn't mutate like Kevin did because Gwen attacks him and blinds him in one eye. Kevin stopped Gwen from hurting Ben further and offered him his hand. Ben not wanting the help of anyone associated with Gwen or his Grandpa leaves.

Ben turns up again in the episode "Grudge match" and get stuck with Gwen. The two despite hating each other find they work well together and it is there that Gwen realizes who Ben really is. Gwen proceeds to try and help Ben but Ben doesn't want her help. Against Gwen's wishes Ben sends her back to earth to be free of her pressence and takes control of the ship.

Ben doesn't turn up again until his teen years where he is trading illegal alien tech and various things. Gwen tries to recruit Ben to help her in her mission to find Grandpa Max. Ben declines preferring to stay an enemy then help the person he hated so much. Ben become a source of many problems in Bellwood but Gwen never gave up on trying to turn her cousin good and bring him back to his family.

Ben isn't easily turned by his cousin but it become different when he meets Julie. Ben proceeds to hold a secret relationship with Julie, who keeps quiet about his coming and going and even hides him from Gwen.

Ben continues on his path until Omniverse where he is captured threatened to be good and assist Gwen unless he wanted Julie to pay sireous concecouncis for assisting a criminal of Ben's level. Ben agreed, only to spare Julie any kind of pain. Ben attend Plumber boot camp and is forced to sit down with his entire family.

A bit ago @floralflowerpower and I were chatting about the omnitrix and at some point recently I realized that Osmosians are a lot like the omnitrix. They can scan genetic code with a touch like the prototype originally did in classic and Alien force, and they then rewrite their own genes to match. They can absorb energy and either transform the air or just their whole outer body and clothes into any material they can get enough of to touch.

I wonder if Azmuth based the trix on Osmosians?
