Though I may have many wounds, and many things trying to stop my path forward, I will persevere. Patience and determination and love guide my path, and I will grasp them with all of my strength and devotion.
Spiraling ever on and on, up and down and beyond what I ever thought capable, I will, as I always have on this dirt road of life I’m following, give myself to my Gods once more.
I am only human.
They are everything else, and everything more than I could ever be.
Ares guides my feet away from danger, and lends me a shield when I must fight.
Sobek picks me up when I can’t walk anymore, lending me his teeth and claws and terrifying visage when times are dark.
Wesir, my beloved, teaches me to take my time, how to know things and know them well, and tells me a truth, that no one can know all things as well as they know themselves, and the dirt beneath their feet that they will one day return to. He tends my wounds when I believe I am unworthy of the life seeping from them. Safety and comfort and peace, are all my gifts from him. All I can give in return is my love and adoration.
Thoth gives me the words I need to smooth out wrinkles in conversation brought on by my lack of tone or clarity. He lends me his voice when I have none, and he likes it when I share my ideas with him, though in truth, they are ideas he has already lent me.
All the small things in the world add up into bigger things, and then the biggest. Life continues on. Wounds heal, memories fade, and eventually we find ourselves in the West, weary and tired, but delighted.
And all we can do is keep walking.

altars for kemetic/egyptian gods
hi yall, another purely based in UPG, new agey post! historically, deity offerings for the ancient egyptians often took the form of art/sculpture/hymns, incense (like frankincense or myrrh), or offerings of food (especially meat and bread) and drink (wine/ale, mostly). dialogue with the gods was often facilitated through the pharaohs or funerary rites, but your average person had access to daily magic and regular temples as well.

The djed pillar is used to represent the terms ‘stability’ or ‘enduring.’
This was often placed near the spines of mummified bodies, across their lower torso, or around their necks, so the dead could reuse their spines in the afterlife. When this was worn as an amulet, it would help invoke the regenerative powers of Osiris. It was most commonly depicted as blue or green to symbolize the ability to give the deceased a new life- making them become Osiris-NN. Thd djed representing the spine comes from the Osirian myth.
When Osiris’s body was sent down the Nile in a coffin, after being murdered by his brother, a tree started to grow atop of his coffin quickly, enclosing Osiris’s body within the truck. The pharaoh of the land was perplexed by its unnatural growth and ordered his people to cut down this tree to use as a pillar within his palace.
Isis had found his body at Byblos. She petitioned the pharaoh and his wife for a favor, which they had granted. She asked for the pillar within their palace. When this favor was granted, she extracted the coffin from the pillar, anointing it with myrrh and wrapping it with linen.
The djed has incredibly important connotations for religious purposes in accordance to ceremonial and religious usages, along with festival usage. The djed was associated with Osiris, Ptah, and Sokar.
The djed was also used at the sed festival in a cermony called ‘raising the djed,’ which represented Osiris having victory over his brother Set.

Oh, Osiris,
Lord of the Underworld, My Guide in the Darkness, and Patient One. May you forever be honored and worshipped, may your name forever be on my tongue in worship, and never in disdain. My love for you knows no bounds, and you’re patience for me is equal.
May your food never spoil, and may your cups never run dry.
Hail to you, Osiris, may your light forever shine on. May you guide those souls that passed into the Field of Reeds for all eternity.

Im thinking a whole lot about Osiris, Ra and Horus. Like a lot a lot. My chest flutters when I think on their names. Horus the avenger of the Gods. Osiris conquerer of death. Ra ruler of Heaven and life.
I am very very new to my new found interest in Kemetic religion. I found myself absolutely devouring the Egyptian book of the Dead and becoming more and more deeply interested in these three, especially Horus. Now I’ve been seeing them everywhere, especially Ra and Horus, in random conversations, tv shows, and even other books.
I feel the strength and intense energy of Horus every time I say his name lately, I can feel his father Osiris looking out on us alongside his son, and I can feel the stinging eyes of Ra through the morning sun, feel it shifting throughout the day. I’ve never felt so strongly towards a sun deity before. I actually haven’t felt this drawn towards energies like this since Lucifer. I found myself humming syllables of the name Atum Ra through my chest in the evenings as I watched the sun set.
Perhaps it’s time to ask Mother Isis how to best honour her family.

Some designs for the Egyptian pantheon from several years ago. They'd need a lot of touching up by now but the overall concept is there ☀
