Origins SMP habits/mannerisms headcanons

I didn't forget lol

Phil first!

It's been established that Phil can't see glass, but I have no doubt in my mind that he'll stick his sword out in front of him when he walks through doors to make sure there's nothing there

That being said, he treats windows and doors like they're the same thing

"I'll be right back, I've gotta get something."

"Okay, see you- Phil! Stop climbing out the windows, you're leaving scuff marks!"

He also perches on rooftops, just for the intimidation factor

It’s rare, but he does ruffle his feathers when he’s mad

he is aware of this and makes a constant effort to not do that

he tries to open his wings instead since that’s more intimidating, but instincts are hard to correct

he gets embarrassed every time since Fluffy Bird Man isn’t very threatening

and yes, if he’s feeling protective for some reason, said person or thing will be carried back to the Pube until Phil says it’s okay to leave

Moving on to Tommy

he does that thing baby chicks or ducklings do where they follow the every move of their mother, but like... With everyone

He doesn't even know that he does it until someone mentions it and he gets defensive

He does have a ranking of preferences in terms of who he follows, Phil being first, then Wilbur, Tubbo, Ranboo (he'll deny this though), Techno (if he's there), Sneeg, Niki (he lingers around the border of the lake), and Charlie. If they're not on the list, he doesn't follow them unless they're the only person he's seen in a while

He also does that thing when he's really happy or mad and his feathers puff up

It's hilarious

He's a fluffy boy

He is also unaware of this and Phil made everyone swear to not say a word out of fear that he'd stop

Wilbur's next!

I have no doubt in my mind that he runs into walls way too much

He also finds it hilarious to phase through people and give them chills, but that's just a fun thing he does normally

He floats ever so slightly off the ground and will subconsciously float higher to meet people's eyes

He didn't do this at first, but he moves his body when he's with someone to mimic breathing and he'll blink despite not needing to

Note: he does breathe, just really really slowly, so it's barely noticeable

Man is dead, and his lack of needing to blink or breathe freaks people out, so he started faking it when he met the others

Now it's so much of a habit that he couldn't stop if he tried

He also whistles a lot, but it sounds really echo-y and haunting so it freaks people out

Wilbur takes full advantage of this once he realizes how it gives everyone chills

He does do this occasionally without realizing though, since he likes to float around and think up tunes when everyone is out doing their own thing

Now Tubbo!

He fidgets all the time

and I mean like he’ll move certain ways depending on what he’s saying

in short: he does bee dances

this is another thing that Phil made everyone swear not to say anything in case Tubbo felt weird about it and made an effort to stop

in truth, Ranboo asked about it several times in a snide way and Tubbo just does it more out of spite

Nobody looks him in the eyes when they’re talking either because he moves around so much

not that they mind, especially Ranboo (the less eye contact, the better)

He also likes to “sit” on walls

he sticks to them or flies so that it looks like he’s sitting sideways

he started doing this just to mess with people but now he does it without thinking

Taps his fingers on things all the time, and sometimes he’ll get so into it that he makes up songs to go with the rhythm

Everyone in the pube was thoroughly distracted several times by an impromptu jam session

Ranboo now!

He doesn’t fidget, but if he’s feeling passionate about something or his adrenaline is up, then his eyes, hands, and tail start to quiver

He hates it since every time he’s doing something while nervous or mad, he always drops things

This means that Ranboo paces when he’s upset to hide the fact that he can’t actually do anything requiring coordination until he’s calmed down

He turns his chin up when someone tries to meet his eyes too

He purrs and you can’t convince me otherwise

The only people who know he does this are Phil, Tubbo (who subtly teases him about it in conversation. All the time.), and Tommy

He’s not used to ducking through doorways either so he used to run into them a lot

That is until he got used to it and now he teleports from room to room if he’s indoors

this is a habit too and he’ll do it even if the doorway is tall enough

he doesn’t duck under things either, he just teleports

“I will NOT duck under a doorway, because I am obviously above it and you will not say otherwise!”

Unlike his dsmp counterpart, he has perfect posture and nobody has ever seen him slouch

that being said, he’s come dangerously close every time he pouts

yes, he pouts and nobody can take him seriously for it

Niki!

Contrary to popular belief, she can actually move around on land, just with great difficulty

her arms are quite strong because of it

also contrary to popular belief, fish fear her

due to this, she’s made it a habit to swim quietly so that she can catch fish to eat

Though once this became a habit, everyone had gotten scared by her at least once while near her home

She also forgets about gravity when she’s on land and will sometimes let go of an object, expecting it to float for a second while she does something, only for it to clatter to the ground

When it’s daytime, she also floats around the surface since it’s warmer

She also chases moving things, but she’s relatively used to ignoring that urge

occasionally though, people will witness it

Ranboo can’t talk to Niki normally, but he does dangle shiny things like into the water to mess with her and make her chase it

She forgives him, but she likes to give him a scare every time by seeing how close she can splash water towards him before he flinches away

(spoiler alert, not very close)

Jack’s turn!

He straight up can’t feel temperature changes, so he’ll just eat something that’s still sizzling or frozen solid and he’s just like

“Hm, texture’s a little weird.”

Cold doesn’t actually bother him, since he’s basically a walking fireplace, he just has issues with being in snow and water since... well... he’s basically a walking fireplace

That being said, he hates being somewhere too cold for too long since he CAN feel that if it’s for long enough

So he sunbathes like a madman

I’m talking in the middle of the desert while the sun is directly above him

He also huffs sometimes and smokes up the Pube

Ever wonder one of the reasons it has no real walls? That’s one of them

Nobody likes to be indoors with him because he always makes it smoky

He barely notices though

He only notices that he huffs since it’s easier for him to breathe warm air than cool, so he has a little bit of trouble breathing in the overworld (especially the end) but he’s determined to get used to the overworld with the others

Up next is Slimesicicle! Or Charlie! Whatever you want to call him!

He, like Wilbur, doesn’t breathe normally, and he’s essentially absorbing what he needs to live from his “skin”

What this means is that he takes a different approach to making himself seem less unnerving

Unlike Wilbur, he does this by making himself appear much less human

He’s just a goopy boy, and thus, he enjoys emphasizing his lack of a vertebrae

Strange poses that really shouldn’t be normal or comfortable, fitting into small spaces, laying down so that the grass is just... in him... he just doesn’t regard the need for appearing like the others

This also means that he’s not very good at retaining his shape

Drains, certain trapdoors, and just generally floors that aren’t solid have been banned from the server because of his tendency to just... fall right through it. There’s another reason why these things are banned, but we’ll get to that.

Next, Sneeg!

He’s the other reason why drains, certain trapdoors, and not solid floors are banned

He doesn’t really trip over things, so he doesn’t look where he’s stepping most of the time

He falls into so many nooks and crannies that he’s just gotten that good at climbing

He’s also very noise-sensitive, similar to another member that I’ll mention later

He also makes it a point to be as high in the air as possible. For several reasons. I’ll leave figuring those reasons out to you

He fidgets like Tubbo, but it’s less of a dance and more of “I have so much energy contained in this tiny body that you cannot possibly comprehend how quickly my brain is shouting thoughts at me. My hands are vibrating and the world move quicker than you can blink.”

It gets so much worse when he eats sugar, but it doesn’t actually bother him

He can’t sit still for the life of him though

He has to be doing something

all the time

Okie, now for Scott!

You may have noticed that he hasn’t really been mentioned much

See, he’s not too used to being in crowds

but he is not even close to being noise-sensitive

In fact, he finds the loudness of being in an atmosphere absolutely fascinating

He surrounds himself with sounds

Explosions are his favorite, but he’s been scolded enough that he knows when and when not to use that ability of his

He also gets enamored by the weirdest things

He’s so easily distracted too, but he just finds everything too fascinating

it’s because of this that he likes to carry things around that he thinks look cool

He also has no sense of property damage or preservation

He likes to watch things crumble and you can tell where he’s been because there’ll be random crushed or cracked rocks, torn apart flowers, and trees with their bark scraped into

In an effort to protect their builds, they’ve gotten Scott bits of redstone that he can crush in his hands

He likes the way it looks like stardust

Almost done! Fundy!

He likes keeping branches to chew on, just for the sake of having something there, especially if he’s not already carrying something in his mouth

Yes, he hoards

Yes, he is aware of the issues with that

Yes, he still makes a conscious effort to take as many things as he can

He also loves small spaces and if people will let him, he’ll curl up near them

He’s noise-sensitive, so he carries around bits of cotton to plug his ears if he needs to

He also stays low to the ground most of the time, just because of how much easier it is to be hidden among the grass, but he does this no matter what the terrain is like because he’s so accustomed to it

He’s also super drowsy during the day, but he tries his best to sleep at night

He normally doesn’t succeed though and just takes a lot of naps during the day, only to go absolutely Feral as soon as it’s dark outside

He has no heat tolerance either, it makes him sleepy

Okay. That’s it. Woo! that took forever lol. I’m not going to write any for Schlatt or Techno since I don’t know if they’re joining or keeping their origins if they are, but I’ll update this if anything new comes out of it!
