I BEAT my weight loss goal!!!!! I'm really excited about this but I post about it a lot so read more break

I was a fit (for my size) 240 lbs back in my 20s when I worked at blockbuster around 2005. I didn't keep track much back then but I had almost no belly fat and it was the lowest weight I've been in my adult life. Since then I gained and lost with a weight ranging mostly above 260 lbs and as high as 285. During the pandemic quarantine, I got a fitbit and got really vigilant about walking on the treadmill. I lost around 30 lbs in about 9 months (which quickly rebounded and became more like 20-25ish.

The lowest weight I got to with exercise was 255.5 on 8-31-2020. This was me vigorously (HR 150-180) exercising like 5 times a week for 40-60 minutes at a time. I wrote down every weight loss milestone and date that I hit back then, and I've been checking back to the list whenever my weight drops below one of them. My goal was my original pandemic low of 255.5 and I was 254.8 today!! I am extremely glad about this and how well my chosen diet worked for me:

Cut all snacks but meals can be as big as I want - CUT SUGARY DRINKS (except homemade coffee) - no dessert unless it's fruit or greek yogurt - and if I have fast food I only have like one non-terrible entree and maybe like 1 other small thing if I'm particularly hungry. An example of this would be a beef combo burrito and 1 taco from taco bell, or a chicken sandwich from JITB. I'm curious to see how far down my weight will go while maintaining this diet, and also if it will go down much more with additional exercise (during the entire time I lost weight (about 2 months) I have only deliberately exercised 3 times although I've been somewhat active otherwise.

Just as a side note, I don't mind being fat for the most part. I feel like it suits my body type and face better, but this is 100% a health concern for me. I want to breathe easier, be in better aerobic shape so that I don't get winded so easily, be more mobile, and take pressure off my joints as much as possible.

The following are my weight goals and when I hit them this year. I was using this post and updating every time I hit one. My new goal is my low weight from my 20's: 240 lbs!!!

PARIS, June 20 (Reuters) - The headquarters of the Paris 2024 Olympics organising committee and those of its infrastructure partner were searched by police on Tuesday as part of investigations into alleged embezzlement of public funds and favouritism, prosecutors said.

The national financial prosecutor's office (PNF) said the Paris 2024 headquarters were raided amid a preliminary investigation launched in 2017 into contracts made by the Summer Games' organising committee.

The headquarters of SOLIDEO, the public body responsible for delivering Olympic and Paralympic infrastructure, were also being searched amid a preliminary investigation dating back to 2022, following an audit by the French Anti-Corruption Agency, the PNF added.

"Paris 2024 is cooperating actively with investigators to facilitate their enquiries and provide answers to all the questions raised as quickly as possible," a Paris 2024 spokesperson said after the search ended at around 1730 local time (1530GMT), according to a Reuters witness.

"To ensure the transparency and propriety of the several hundred contracts it has awarded, Paris 2024 has adopted stringent procedures, and has set up an ethics committee together with an audit committee to supervise its activities.

"The audit conducted by the French Anti-Corruption Agency and five audits by the Cour des Comptes (Court of Auditors), in addition to the continued monitoring of our governance structures, have not raised the slightest wrongdoing.

"Throughout these audits and ongoing monitoring, Paris 2024 has demonstrated the effectiveness of the stringent procedures that it has continued to implement in collaboration with auditing and regulatory bodies."

The Paris 2024 Olympics, which organising committee president Tony Estanguet has vowed will be "beyond reproach", will be held from July 26-Aug. 11 with the Paralympic Games taking place from Aug. 28-Sept. 6.

The searches coincided with the start of a two-day International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board on Tuesday to discuss a number of issues, including the progress of the Paris 2024 Games preparations.

"We are aware that there has been a search by police of the Paris 2024 headquarters today," an IOC spokesperson said. "We have been informed by Paris 2024 that they are cooperating fully with the authorities in this matter."

SOARING BUDGET

The total budget for the Games has soared to 8.8 billion euros ($9.62 billion) from an initial assessment of 6.6 billion in 2017.

The infrastructure alone is expected to cost 4 billion euros from an original estimate of 3.2 billion. The cost is limited as most of the events will be held in existing facilities.

The main construction sites are the Olympic village and the swimming pool in Saint Denis, just north of Paris.

The cost of security, which according to the Cour des Comptes, France's supreme audit institution, will reach at least 400 million euros, has not been included in the overall budget.

It is not the first time Olympics organisers have been the subject of an investigation.

Japanese prosecutors earlier this year indicted six companies including advertising giant Dentsu Group and seven individuals over suspected rigging of bids worth $320 million for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.

The indictments followed months of investigations into alleged corruption in the planning and sponsorship of the Tokyo Games, held in 2021 after a COVID-19 postponement.

Dentsu has offered its "sincere apologies" and said it had set up a committee of outside experts to review the case.

Notes for "See You After"

Chapter 45: July 27-Aug 6: Hero News Network, Shouto's Texts

The texts in this chapter were a last minute addition that more than doubled the chapter's wordcount. Some of it was supposed to be in a later chapter but I moved things around because I didn't want another chapter with only news articles so close to the previous one.

Of course, I do have notes on the articles again if anyone is interested. Or, if you're just here for additional context about Touya, skip to the very end of this post.

Article 1: UA to hold official graduation ceremony at newly-restored campus location

BNHA 359: Place of Learning

Tamaki's comment about wanting a graduation ceremony might seem like a small thing, but I really liked this small detail in the manga, which showed that even though they're fighting a war, they're still kids. Graduation is a huge milestone, one that they've been working toward for their whole lives, and it's sad that they had that taken away from them. (Honestly reminded me of the kids I worked with in 2020/2021 who didn't get their graduation or the other typical senior year experiences)

I like the idea of them getting to have that celebration after the fact, which would also be a sign that the world is starting to move forward again.

Article 2: Okuto Island Aquarium receives green light for rebuilding

BNHA 345: Division & 347: Inflation

The amount of rebuilding that would need to take place after the war is kind of hard to imagine, but I like to think that once the essential repairs are mostly completed, people would see the value in rebuilding a place that's not essential, but that brings people joy.

I like the idea that the civilians would step up to help as well instead of putting all of the responsibility on the heroes, as they've done in the past.

(plus, Shouto and Katsuki need somewhere to go for their penguin date when Shouto gets home)

Article 3: Is there a future for quirkless heroes?

(warning: spoilers up to manga ch. 416 below)

This article was longer than I intended, but there were a bunch of things that I decided I needed to include after recent chapters, especially Izuku ending up quirkless.

I've liked this theory for a while because it makes sense thematically, and now that the manga is actually going for it (unless HK pulls some bs out of nowhere), I decided to add it since it works really well with the upcoming section. I don't feel like writing a whole meta on this right now but here's some relevant canon scenes:

BNHA 1: Izuku Midoriya: Origin, 412: History's Maddest Hero

It would be interesting to see how the public reacts to the idea of quirkless heroes after the war, and I like the idea of Izuku continuing to be a hero with support gear and a shifting emphasis on teamwork rather than individuals with all-powerful abilities,

BNHA 386: I am here

However, I think there would definitely be concerns about making something like All Might's mech suit a go-to solution for a large number of heroes.

I think it would be interesting to see society grapple with the balance between providing support items to allow more people to become heroes, while also shifting away from the current hero system toward seeing the value of everyday acts of heroism from ordinary civilians that the story has been trying to point out in the background during the current arc.

I also think it would be interesting to see how the world continues to react to the heroes who lost their quirks. We've already seen that Ragdoll was still able to help even after she lost her quirk, and now that Hawks has lost his as well, he'll need to figure out how he's going to move forward (I guess he is actually making an appearance in this fic after all)

410: Farewell, All For One, 416: Wrench it open, Midoriya Izuku

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I like that quirks can't be returned so easily and that rewind can't be used to fix everything. But I'd imagine that some people wouldn't accept that so easily and would try to find a way to return everything to the status quo. And we already know the HPSC isn't above using children with useful quirks for the "greater good".

Article 4: Debate over Villains' Fate Continues

I'm not going to say much about this one other than that the fate of the villains an ongoing uncertainty in at this point in the narrative. Even though Shouto, Izuku and Ochako "saved" them, I can't imagine that the rest of society would be as ready to forgive. (for the purposes of this fic I'm assuming they all live, obviously)

This was a nice chance to add some commentary/context on the articles and what's happening in the world, and to show the kids supporting each other.

The first set of texts on 7/27 are a couple of days after the Todofam scene in Ch. 39, which is why Shouto wasn’t being super active in the group chat the previous week, as Izuku pointed out in their text conversation. Also, he didn’t answer the first group chat because he was at his therapy appointment (referenced in the text thread with Katsuki in Ch. 41)

The second set of texts (about game night) are after Shouto’s unsent letter in Ch. 44, so he’s doing a little better at that point.

I really enjoyed writing Shouto's second conversation with Izuku in particular. (Izuku’s nervous rambling was fun to write.)

Also, the official reasoning for having him on quirk suppressants is mostly an excuse to give everyone peace of mind, knowing that he can't use his quirk. Way back in in Chapter 9, the article about quirk suppressants says that they're only approved for medical use and forcing prisoners to take a relatively new drug against their will would be questionable from an ethics standpoint, but I'm sure the prisons would find ways around that in the case of villains with certain quirks.

For the second week in a row, “Nightline” was up on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+1% - 667,000 vs. 658,000).
