Summary: A slice of life story. Lena is trying to balance her life at L-Corp with home life with Kara and her twins. However, things don't always go so smoothly.

Lena sat in the backseat of her town car viewing the results of her latest project at L-Corp. Her latest project was trying to use a 3-D printer to create organic limbs and organs. They were able to successfully create an organic leg today, but it exploded after 5 minutes. She knew there was damage to the lab, but was not sure the entire extent of it. Her lab assistants were all running around like chickens with their heads cut off. It was why she was in her town car being driven to L-Corp at 6:30 am in the morning. She didn’t know what made her upset more. The fact that the experiment failed and caused possible major damage, or the fact that she couldn’t take her 6 year old twin girls Liza and Alexa to school this morning. She had promised them the last several days to take them to school in the morning, but something always seems to come up at work. She walked into the living room dreading to tell them she was failing again to keep her word for a third day in a row. They were glued to the tv eating their cereal watching Kara as Supergirl fighting the Pied Piper. He was controlling the rats to attack the citizens of downtown National City. Lena shuddered. She hated rats. 

“Look at Jeju go!” squealed Alexa.

“Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a pet rat?” asked Liza.

“I don’t know if Mommy would let us keep him.”

“Why not?”

“She hates rats. Remember when we tried to convince her to let us babysit Fernando the Ferret?”

“Yeah, she screamed when we brought it home. She wouldn’t get off the table until JeJu flew it away.”

“I bet Jeju would let us have a pet?”

“I don’t know. Auntie Alex says that Jeju is too whipped to not do what Mommy says.”

“What does that mean?”

Liza shrugged her shoulders and went back to watching the tv. Lena approached the girls and cleared her throat to get their attention. 

“Hey, girls. Mommy has to leave early today. Jeju is going to have to take you to school.” 

Liza just kept eating her cereal. Alexa came up to Lena and gave her a hug. 

She said, “It’s okay mommy. We know you have important things to do today.” 

Alexa then ran over to Liza jumping up and down. 

“Do you know what this means?” squealed Alexa

Liza's eyes popped open after she thought about it a moment and then started jumping up and down with Alexa. 

“Jeju will fly us to school.” squealed Liza

They then started to run around the room pretending like they could fly. Afterwards, Lena ran to her car in tears. She isn’t sure what hurt her more: the fact that the girls were not phased by her unkept promises or the fact that Kara was the preferred parent. Kara is always the fun parent while Lena is viewed as a Debbie downer by the girls. Before she had the girls, she never saw herself as a parent. She didn’t really have good examples growing up. Her dad ignored her for the most part and her step mother Lillian hated her. Granted Lillian and her relationship is on the road to repair, but it took a lot of work. Then, there was Lex. She shudders when she thinks of him. He would torture her constantly growing up and well into adulthood. 

She had no thoughts on continuing the Luthor line until she met Kara. She broke down her walls and taught her not only how to love, but that she deserved to be loved by others. When they first got married, she was hesitant about having children. However, when she would stare at Kara, she knew that there was no one else that she would ever want to jump into the unknown with. The road to having the girls was filled with struggles. They first went the adoption route. While Kryptonians have both sex organs, their DNA is not compatible with humans. They went to 20 adoption agencies in the US and overseas, and their application was automatically denied. The Luthor name was toxic to them especially after all the evil things that Lex did. Lena had suggested just having Kara adopt the child, and then they could raise the baby together. However, Kara vehemently refused. She wanted both of them to be parents in every way possible. Lena decided to take things into her own hands. She experimented on herself with Kara’s DNA to see if she could combine it with hers so her body could carry a Kyptonian child. She nearly died in the process (which Kara was pissed about especially since she didn’t know about the experiments), but she changed her DNA enough that it could accept Kara’s sperm. They had their twins on the first try. When she first gave birth to them, she held them in her arms and promised them that she would always be with them unlike her family. She never wanted them to feel unwanted or unloved like she did as a child. She feels now like she has broken that promise on so many levels.

Re Supercorp Amnesia AU Anon’s Question: Yes. They would get their memories back. But slowly and in fragments. I’m never going to be able to fully write this myself. So I’ll just share how I pictured the main ending would go (if anyone wants to write this, its totally up for grabs). Lena would eventually suit up as her own take on Supergirl. Though, by using Kryptonian tech, not understanding why the Yellow Sun doesn’t give her powers like it should. This makes her rookie-hero status worse at times as she struggles even more early on than Kara did in S1. One of Lena’s early mistakes is accidentally causing a delivery of medicine to the Luthor Children’s Hospital to be too late and the only reason the patient in need survives is thanks to Kara’s quick thinking. So Kara Luthor is pretty anti-supergirl from the start, but Lena would assume the identity of “Lena Danvers” after her new friend at the DEO and get a job at CatCo. So history would repeat itself in a way with Lena Danvers meeting Kara Luthor during an interview. The two would then become best friends with Lena choosing not to tell Kara about her secret identity. During all of this they each get little flashes of their real lives. It would all come to a boiling point when Kara’s memory flashes lead her to uncover a top secret project underneath L-Corp. Here she fully remembers everything, including how all this happened. Lena tried to experiment with a version of the Book of Destiny that Clark had on digital files at the fortress in an attempt to see what her life would’ve been like if Kara had told her the truth in every previous situation (similar to Kara in S5’s It’s A Super Life). But the DEO was alerted and attacked Lena’s secret lab (this being right after the Myriad incident), with Kara trying to intervene. The battle messed up the experiment and created this new reality. But now the experiment is growing unstable and could destroy their reality/new reality. Kara goes to see Lena to try and convince her about all of it, but sees how genuinely happy she is and can’t go through with it (now realizing firsthand how messed up it is being a Luthor). But tears in reality begin to open portals to the different time points in the OG reality, unleashing a ruthless Reign from S3. Lena’s too inexperienced as Supergirl to beat her and is killed. A heartbroken and grieving Kara then goes back to the experiment and decides that the issue was during the fight, everyone’s anger got the better of them and is causing the unstable reaction. And to fix it, she needs to do an act of selflessness. So Kara starts a new experiment/entry into the digital Book of Destiny as reality once again is changed. We’re brought back to the last half of 5x01, only it’s Lena Danvers accepting the Pulitzer Prize for her article on Lex Luthor and Kara Luthor presenting the award to her. But right before they go on stage, Lena reveals to Kara she is Supergirl and tearfully apologizes for keeping this from her. Kara sincerely accepts her apology and promises nothing will ever change their friendship. Kara returns to her penthouse where she speaks with her AI, revealing that Kara’s selfless act was fully giving Lena the life she’d lived in seasons 1-5, while Kara lived hers (with Lena even being a blonde-haired real Kryptonian/Supergirl and being raised on earth by the Danvers, while the now brunette Kara lived Lena’s human life and raised by the Luthors), the only difference being that Kara wrote that she and Lena would continue to be friends (even post-identity reveal) and the digital Book of Destiny would then be erased. Kara didn’t even expect to remember her old life at this point, but is shocked she now remembers both her new and original lives (and all the emotions that accompanied each of them) perfectly. With the ending hinting that the Monitor is watching and the fall out would involve how these events would effect the upcoming Crisis.

They were overwhelmed, tired, and beaten. They had fought so hard, yet more of them came. They were indestructible unless you hit the weak spot under its chin, a narrow opening. It wreaked of death, shot lasers from its eyes, and had kryptonite knives for hands. All the teams had been called in to help, but it didn’t do any good. They were still losing. Almost everyone who was still alive was there fighting to their last breath.

The Juniors, as Sara had dubbed them, were all suited up to help their parents fight the best way they knew how. They had a half-baked plan and an inter-dimensional portal that would take them back before this happened. A time and place when they would have time to figure out how to beat these monsters and their leaders. The only problem was simultaneously talking to their parents and avoiding blasting themselves out of the time stream. They'd heard plenty of Barry's stories about messing up the timeline throughout their lives. They had to be better.

Fairy Tales-Chapter 3

Summary: Lena finally has the work and home life balance that she wants and is excited to get to spend the next two weeks that she has off with the girls while Kara is away. She believes that it will be smooth sailing, but things are not as they seem.

After leaving the house, Lena got the girls breakfast and dropped them off at school. She didn’t need to head back to her house since the security company already had keys to get in. She didn’t want to go back anyway. She decided to go back to Noonan’s to work on her computer. Work while strenuous, always took her mind off of everything. She went over different project budgets until she got a phone call. She looked down and groan when she realized it was the school calling. Thinking that she was late picking up the girls again, she frowned when she saw that there was several hours left in the school day. 

“Hello”

“Hello Mrs. Luthor. This is Ms. Linefield.”

“I hope that the girls are doing ok in class.”

“I was wondering if you would be able to come in soon.”

“I am not far away, but with rush hour traffic, it will take me about 45 minutes to get there. Is everything ok with the girls?” asked Lena worriedly. 

“Nothing too serious in the scheme of things. I don’t know if you knew that Alexa and Sam were hanging out more recently.”

“Yes, she talks constantly about him” muttered Lena. 

“Well, he decided that he didn’t want to be friends with her anymore.”

“Was there something that prompted this?”

“I came towards the tail end of everything. From what the other students said, Alexa’s hand became stuck to a tree. Sam called her a freak and said that he wouldn’t hang out with her and no one else should either.”

“I can’t believe that little…” Lena muttered. 

“I did put Sam in time out for that remark and outburst. We don’t tolerate that type of behavior in our classroom. 

“The brat deserves more” Lena thought. 

She shook her head to try to stay focus on the call instead of plotting revenge. 

“Is Alexa alright?” asked Lena worriedly.

“I think she will ultimately be fine. However, she has been crying non stop since.”

“I will be there as soon as possible.”

Lena quickly left the the restaurant and headed towards the school. She broke every speed law to get there. She admired herself for getting there in 15 minutes. When she arrived in the building, she looked over at the playground and saw Liza and all the other kids in her class except for Alexa. She decided to go directly to Ms. Linefield’s room. When she got there, a piece of her heart broke. She saw Alexa curled up in a ball in the room’s reading corner with tears streaming down her face. Before she could run out to her, Ms. Linefield approached Lena first with soft smile. 

“Thank you for coming Ms. Luthor.”

“It is not a problem. How long has she been like this?”

“For the last 45 minutes. Liza and her other classmates tried to comfort her and get her to go outside for recess but she refused. I did have Sam apologize to her, but he said the apology sarcastically which caused her to cry harder. I ended up sending Sam to the principal’s office.”

“I’ll take it from here. I think it would be best if I just sign her out for the rest of the day. I will come back to pick up Liza when school ends.”

“I think that would be wise. I’ll go and let the secretary and principal know that you are signing her out for the day.”

“Thank you.”

Lena turned her attention back to her daughter. She quickly went and sat next to Alexa.

Lena patted her softly on the head and said, “Do you want to talk about it?”

Alexa shook her head.

Lena gave a soft smile and said, “You don’t have to talk. But I would like you to come with me. Would you mind helping mommy with a special errand.”

Alexa stayed silent. 

Lena kept going and said, “It is a very important errand. I haven’t had lunch yet today, but I don’t know where to go.”

Alexa kept sobbing and ignoring her. 

Lena determined kept going and asked, “If you could have any meal right now, what would it be?”

Alexa was silent for a moment before whimpering, “Big Belly Burgers.”

Lena smiled and said, “Then that is where we should get lunch from today.”
