I don't think I've ever spoken of this and I'm bored but don't know what to do to keep myself busy so I'm just gonna talk to myself.
Werewolf transformations!
(Which by the by, my werewolves are quad not bipedal. I don't like or care for the bipedal forms. Think of them as massive four legged canine things that resemble wolves but when you look at them they don't look right and looking at them and making eye contact with them sets off every alarm at the same time.)
In Oracle werewolves are cursed beings that have to hunt down humans and consume them, specifically their hearts, to keep their life essence intact. They'll consume flesh, bone, bone marrow and even blood but what they're really after is the heart, everything else is just some type of bonus.
Werewolf transformations are brutal and extremely painful. So painful that some werewolves black out during the transformation and regain consciousness as soon as it's over. They'll remain in pain for a few minutes and even while in pain they'll take off in search of prey.
The body is essentially destroying and repairing itself in the span of a few seconds, bones are breaking, skin is stretching beyond the limit and being torn off, fur is growing, fangs are forming (a far more intense form of teething) and on top of that the werewolf is bleeding. At the same time that all of that is happening bones are stretching and mending, skin is repairing itself, the heart and circulatory system is working overtime to replace the lost blood. Blood pressure is fluctuating at abnormal speeds and the werewolf's internal temperature can reach about 118 to 120 degrees due to the events and the rapid healing the body is going through in a matter of seconds which also means the body is also working on making sure the brain doesn't boil itself.
Transformations start as soon as the full moon starts rising and it lasts about 4 minutes. They turn back into their "human" form as soon as the sun starts rising and it's the same damn thing for the exact duration.
There is somewhat of a difference between a bitten werewolf and a werewolf that was born a werewolf.
Once a human has been bitten they're cursed to become a werewolf, the breed depends on the breed of the werewolf that bit the person (ie if a Howling Ghost bit a human then that human will become a Howling Ghost).
It's not a fun time though. You'll feel incredibly weak, you'll have a fever, body aches, you'll dehydrate, won't be able to keep anything you eat down and you'll mostly be bed ridden. On top of feeling all of that you'll get to experience your very first transformation while still feeling all of what comes with a transformation. You'll spend the first year in extreme agony as your body acclimates to the transformation and even after that year it'll be torment, it's just gonna be about 5% less intense.
Basically you'll feel like you wanna die if you don't pass out during the transformation.
Born werewolves's bodies are already acclimated to the transformation so they have that 5% from day one but it's just as agonizing.
All werewolves cry out in pain, some scream, some yell, most cry. It's agonizing and so much worse when you realize that not only can you see your skin stretch to the point of breaking or seeing your bones break under the skin, you'll actually hear it all.
In a more "biological" sense the werewolf's curse is actually a mutated form of rabies that only affect humans and is found in the saliva of the werewolf. There's a reason that I put the " " on the word biological, while yeah, it's actually a form of a disease it's far too steeped in the arcane to just dismiss it completely scientifically. There's a sort of ritual about it. Werewolves can only infect humans during full moons because that's when the bacteria activates and it's through a bite, a bite strong enough to break skin therefore causing the werewolf's saliva to mix with the human's blood infecting them and creating yet another werewolf.
And no, there is no cure. Once bitten there's no way to reverse it. No, it won't turn you into some sort of sex machine where everyone will be far too enamored and horny for you that they throw themselves at you. No, you won't suddenly turn hot. No, you won't lose that extra weight, your skin won't clear, your bald spot won't go away. No, you won't turn younger. Yes, life threatening diseases will go away. The body will try and repair itself though limbs lost before being bitten will not just magically grow back. You will get physically stronger and your senses will be 1,000 times better than they were before.
While a transformed werewolf is a powerhouse transforming as a way to defend themselves is downright stupid for all the reasons I mentioned above so they come equipped with ways to defend themselves in the form of physical strength, speed, boosted senses, they can grow out their teeth into their canine form, their claws too and yes, it hurts but not to the point of transforming. Come on, the teeth are basically growing and the nails are being pushed out of the fingers as the claws elongate, it's gonna hurt some. On top of that werewolves can manipulate their eyes to shine/glow which really helps to deter any would-be attacker and to add to that they very much can emit snarls and growls as well as howls that sound like a distorted version of a wolf's.

Being the leader of my clan is really important to me.
But it’s kind of… insane that it happened when it did?
Like, I was in my teens when I was first made the clan leader.
Sure, I was a prodigy in witchcraft, but I wasn’t really prepared for such a big position!
The first… year (?) of being clan leader was rough, and I made a lot of mistakes with barely any actually decent guidance (the elders always said to “eat them” in response whenever I asked them for help with a problem).
And the only decent guidance I did have was from the Clan Oracle, who was always super vague! So her help was only ended up being useful in the moment.
Hell, I almost ruined our relations with the werewolf pack in that first year!
Thankfully, I learn things decently fast, so my second year as clan leader was much better.
I fixed things with the werewolves, for the most part! Me and their pack leader still didn’t get along at all, so it had been pretty strenuous since then. (Their new pack leader gives me hope for us improving things, though! She’s really great!)
Also began building relations with the local town, because apparently no prior clan leaders had thought that’d be beneficial!
I even began working on ways to make the valley safer for everyone!
…I’m really proud of how far I’ve come as a leader, and even more proud of how we’ve all changed over these past few years.
Especially how my clan’s changed.
We used to be one of the weakest groups in the valley,— none of us could even control our inner beasts! —but now? We’re like… actually important now. We’re even just as powerful as the werewolves!
It’s just… wonderful to see how far we’ve come.

sir adventure set forth into the wild woods with nothing but his trusty sword, the feather in his helmet, and a thirst for excitement. however, as he would soon find, out in the wider world of the wild woods, his options were as plentiful as the tall pine trees, and he was beginning to feel a bit overwhlemed.
that's when he remembered the oracle. he had been raised on stories of the strange folk beyond littleplace, of wizards and werewolves and other weirdos. one such figure was that of the oracle—a wise woman who could use her powers to bring hidden truths to light or even see the future. adventure wasn't interested in knowing his future (that seemed to him a rather hasty thing to pursue—he'd only just started through the now, after all), but he figured if anyone could set him on the best and most adventurous path, it would be the oracle. luckily, she didn't live very far away, and if sir adventure remembered the tale correctly, he could reach her forest cottage within a day's time.
after a whole lot of walking, however, sir adventure came to a fork in the road. the path split in two: to the left, it continued on as it had, well-trodden and hard-packed, in the direction of the wildflower glades where the oracle resided; to the right, it branched off into a smaller patchy path winding through stones and roots off into the trees. the sign at the fork that pointed down the righthand path was badly scratched and scrungled, but looked to adventure like it might have read "beeberg."
he stood and pondered a minute. he had set to seeing the oracle, but he did like bees quite a lot. he liked honey even more, and he was realising that not bringing any food with him could have perhaps been a tiny oversight. he wasn't sure if the oracle would have good snacks at her forest cottage, or even what food oracles ate. he couldn't recall if it was her or the whistling witch of the wild woods who liked to eat ground up people meat between two slices of bread (a creation older legends had dubbed a "manwich," but was now more often called a "personwich" to be more respectful to those being eaten), which sounded to adventure nowhere near as appetising as a big glob of honey.
huh? who is this? what's going on? | part 2 ->

My friend is trying to make Sun and Moon from security breach as a dnd character but it is definitely not the right system. is there a game that would work better with animatronics and stuff like that?
THEME: Dual Personalities
Hello friend, so I have a few routes that I’ve gone with this prompt. Finding a FNAF game is a bit of a tall order, but I think the most important of Sun and Moon’s dynamic is the switch in personality - with Moon being an inverted, terrifying version of Sun’s personality. There are two common tropes that exist in fiction that have that same dynamic - werewolves and the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I took those as leads, but tried to find games where the setting might be flexible - or hackable. I’d also love to hear what other kinds of games other folks suggest!
Eat God by @prokopetz.
Eat God is a game where you take on the role of a small gremlin-like creature. Though you're just as much a person as anybody else, the setting's dominant human culture tends to regard your kind as clever vermin, which means you don't get a lot of respect – but it also means you usually aren't seen as a threat, which may occasionally work to your advantage.
Unfortunately for the people in charge, you're not just any clever vermin: you and your companions are God-eaters, wandering practitioners of an esoteric discipline – part existential philosophy, part martial art – which affords you a limited capacity to bend the laws of reality to your will. As its name suggests, the God-eater's creed also has serious objections to authority in all its forms.
Eat God is still in playtest, but there’s one character option in particular you might be interested in - Polycephalous. This gives your character a second face - and this might be a second personality, a second head, etc. It allows your character to attempt certain things that might usually require two people. Combine this with something like Fast Feet (that help you scuttle very quickly) Languorous Lure (which gives you glowing eyes) and you’re well on the way to having a double-personality.
A Modern Prometheus, by Mitchell Salmon.
A Modern Prometheus is a gothic horror roleplaying game for 2 players based on the Mobile Frame Zero: Firebrands framework by D. Vincent Baker and Meguey Baker (Lumpley Games).
Players take on the role of a scientist dabbling with dark forces at the edge of the natural sciences, and the creation that they bring to life as a consequence. Together, you and your partner will discover through play who is human, and who is monstrous.
This is a game where the relationship between the “Sun” character and the “Moon” character is the whole point of the game. The creation of the monstrous is explored through play, and the highlighted themes are vengeance, humanity, and rage. The game itself uses mini-games that you can order in whatever way you like - create a story of horror together one step at a time.
The Monster Within, by Felipemuky.
The Monster Within is a duo RPG where players play a human dealing with their monster within. They must fight for control of their body or cooperate to survive.
One player will be the Human, a person tormented with a monster living in their body, an the other is the Monster, a creature eager to take control of the body to satiate its appetites.
This game brings rules to emphasizes the conflict between the two parts and the tension of losing the control in difficult times.
This is a game for one game-master and two players, or two players using an oracle to facilitate GM-less play. It’s a one-page zine game, with some simple rules to and a few basic traits to determine for both the Human and the Monster. The players can fight each-other or work together to confront challenges, with the default state being that the human is in control, and the monster is trying to take control of the body. There’s no rules as to what the monster looks like, so if you were to pick this up, you could attach some Moon-like attributes to the monster character, and perhaps change something about the setting to make it make more sense for the kind of characters you want to play.
Cypher System (and Expanded Worlds) , by Monte Cook Games.
The Cypher System is the critically acclaimed game engine that powers any campaign in any genre. You may have heard of it as the system that drives the award-winning Numenera roleplaying game. Lauded for its elegance, ease of use, flexibility, and narrative focus, the Cypher System unleashes the creativity of GMs and players with intuitive character creation, fast-paced gameplay, and a uniquely GM-friendly design.
Cypher System characters are built from the concept up. A descriptive sentence provides not just an easily-understood overview of the character, but also the mechanical basis for skills, abilities, and stats. And the Cypher System gives players amazing narrative engagement, rewarding player-driven subplots and giving players resources to bear on the tasks and situations they most want to succeed at.
The base rulebook for the Cypher System has a character option (dubbed a focus) called Howls at the Moon which is typically a were-creature concept, but I think it could be used to create a threatening-yet-powerful alter-ego that has nefarious motives. There’s also an option in the Expanded Worlds supplement, called Changes Shape, which changes your physical form, without taking away your ability to think for yourself. Even if neither of these foci aren’t exactly what you are looking for, the Cypher system gives you tools to help you create your own custom focus that replicates the dual personality that Sun and Moon embody.
Apocalypse Keys, by Sword Queen Games.
The Doomsday Clock is ticking down and emotions run high as you and your team of DIVISION agents struggle to find the Keys before the villainous Harbingers unlock the Doors of Power and bring about the apocalypse.
As an Omen class monster, you are the only thing capable of holding back the apocalypse. Combat occult threats and investigate supernatural phenomena alongside your team of supernatural agents working for the shadowy DIVISION. But in a world that shuns monsters like you, only your deepest, most heartfelt bonds can grant you the power to stop those who seek to unlock Doom’s Door.
There’s a couple of different ways I think you could replicate Sun and Moon in Apocalypse Keys. One way could be to embody the Hungry, a character who houses a hunger for blood, souls, or something more. You could personify that hunger as an alternate personality, that surfaces every time your character has to feed. I’ve also seen something similar done with the Surge and the Fallen playbooks - with the Surge, the player could create an alternate personality that arises when they use their power, or use the Ruin move My Dark Patron to give their alternate personality more power over your character. With the Fallen, another playbook, the alternate personality was a fallen god, housed in a human shell. I think there’s a lot of untapped possibility in this game, as all of the characters are wrestling with a monstrosity that has great capacity for harm, but also empowers them to solve problems that threaten the world they all live in.

Let's talk about werewolves from my universe! And about Morgan, of course 😳
Magic in my universe can be different. With practice you can achieve any result. For example, the oracles invented a spell that allows you to see a scenario in the future. To do this, they draw eyes on their skin. The more eyes are drawn, the more options the wizard sees. The more a wizard practices a particular spell, the easier it becomes for him.
The magic of werewolves works quite natively, because they practiced turning into different creatures for many generations in a row. In fact, any wizard can try to turn into a wolf, bear or dog, but for him it will be very, very difficult.
Like all magicians, werewolves have a set of rules. For example, you cannot transform into creatures that do not exist in nature (dragons, phoenixes, wyverns), you cannot transform into small or large versions of creatures (giant cats, tiny bears, huge rats), and also, the ruler of werewolves should not transform, this is necessary for in order to prove to other wizards that despite the transformation into different creatures, werewolves did not lose their humanity.
Werewolves' eyes are usually yellow, brown, or green. Their eyes glow softly in the dark, it’s almost invisible unless you look closely.
Morgan has yellow eyes and dark gray hair. He is tall and quite strong. I wouldn't say he's a genius or smart, but Morgan works and studies hard to be an example for everyone. He is sympathetic, kind, always ready to help others. Morgan tries to smile to cheer up those around him, but can be frighteningly serious.
Morgan has a best friend, Akki. They have been friends since childhood. They have one brain cell between them. Akki turns into a huge wolfhound with golden fur.
Morgan likes one girl. Her name is Chocolate. She and Morgan travel a lot, so they rarely see each other. But they often send letters to each other. In case you were wondering, Morgan has very beautiful handwriting :D
I am ready to talk about Morgan forever because he is one of my favorite characters. He is kind, sweet, and always ready to help others. Plus, he's quite handsome. I really love this character

Heyyyy Opie!
Ok so I was rewatching the originals the other day and the werewolves reminded me of LYKAIA.
And I just had to ask : is there like a hierarchy within different packs..so like if they come from one bloodline or another (and don’t beat my ass if you’ve already answered this somewhere lol)
And do they come with different abilities depending on the pack there in….. I’m just curious.
Other than that . I’m a sucker for supernatural shit and you are doing amazing at the world building and I just love it all so much!!! Also, Imogen is MOTHER.
MWAH 💋
Heyyyy friend! Thank you!!! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
So the hierarchy in Lykaia is mostly just based on strength, their ability to lead, and willingness to lead. In the world of Lykaia- no one’s really dying to be alpha lol. It comes with too many responsibilities and expectations, so unless you’re on a power trip you’re just trying to vibe lol. There’s a hierarchy with the different packs too. That’s based on numbers, strength, and with the Cali packs- connections. In the states, Kristopher’s pack is at the very top. He works alongside Aconitum, but Kris’ main business is politics. The only reason there are safe havens in the US is because of him. His efforts and desire for a cure for lycanism are funded by that. Everyone looks to him to lead. Even other alphas. He has a lot of pull, so that’s why they expect a lot from Rory.
As far as abilities, all lycans regardless of rank, can self heal. They can also help others heal if they have a wound. Nothing too crazy though. If it’s a deep cut then they can help. Or a bullet would as long as the bullet exits, but they’ve gotta be quick with that. Depends on what gets hit by it too. They can shift into their wolf forms, but only alphas and betas can shift to the humanoid beastly form. They’ve all got an increase in strength and a longer lifespan. Although some packs live longer and are stronger than others depending on who’s in the pack. I think Rory might’ve said it before, but the more connected they are as a unit, the stronger they are. The more bonded you are with your pack, the better the pack functions and feels. Each pack has a differently ability depending on the people in it, so like Freddie’s pack (he’s the basketball player.. I think LMAO) they’re more athetically inclined. So he really only accepts in other athletes. Mera’s pack rules over mental prowess. She only allows in highly intelligent people. (And only black women but that’s just Mera having her preference lol. She does feel like sisterhood comes easier with those that look like you.) Her pack is HUGE. Pushing around 30 members. As far as our main pack, we don’t know what their’s is yet. But since they’re the only pack with an oracle and active priestess, it’s bound to be something unorthodox.
#text post#asks#Lykaia#it’s the lore#I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this before???#I gotta go back and rewatch the series lol

As of this year 2024 (actually canon due to a story) the Crossed Breed was renamed to Moonborne.
So like I said on my previous post I wanted to info dump about my good boi in his not so good boi form.
BUT before that I do wanna apologize about sounding like a self-entitled asshole but I say this because I'm hyper protective of my stuff. I've been working with this for 21 years so to say I'm protective is an understatement.
So...
The info is in regards to the werewolves in MY setting. While I took a fuck ton of inspo from different folklore I kinda threw a wrench into the engine and put my own twist in it.
This species like every other species and/or breed as well as EVERYTHING in Oracle Corp is closed. Meaning the only people that can insert a character or what have you into Oracle Corp if they so choose are long term mutuals of this site and this site alone.
General info on my werewolves can be found over here. I should update this site more, the forum is priceless for world building info...
So with that bit outta the way...
Werewolves have a pretty bad rep but at the same time they are savage balls of uncontrollable rage that need to rip anything that moves into pieces so it's kinda well earned. But none of the five breeds have a worse rep than the Crossed Breed. Why? Rumors, misinformation and a lot of disinformation.
There was a lot of info about the Crossed Breed before the first Crossed Breed was ever even born. And yes, all that info was 100% wrong.
Why? Cuz whether they're werewolves or human people like to act as if they know everything and take everything they hear at face value. But in all seriousness for the longest time werewolves had been at each other's throats since their conception and at the beginning the four different breeds hated each other but the Howling Ghosts and Outsiders took it to a whole new level after the HGs drove out the Outsiders from their homes. Since then those two breeds have been out for blood with one another.
With time all four breeds mellowed out and began to heal as a community and extended their pack mentality beyond that of their breeds. Howling Ghosts mingled with Mist Walkers, Silver Sights lived with Howling Ghosts, Outsiders roamed with Mist Walkers, in short they all banded together as one big species instead of one big breed...except for Howling Ghosts and Outsiders! Those two breeds refused to get along.
But not everyone shared that same mentality and occasionally you'd find HG and Outsider couples meeting in secret or running away together. This obviously didn't sit well with a lot of the elders so couples were hunted down and killed.
Now, it's possible for werewolves of a different breed to have pups lol baby werewolves but this is super hard and takes a lot of trying which leads to a lot of financial strain and heartbreak. However, those lucky few who do have a pup will find that the breed the baby comes out as will be the breed of the person who birthed it. This is set in stone, it's been tested over and over again and the results are always and will always be the same.
Howling Ghosts and Outsiders though have an even lesser chance to produce a pup. Hate for each other has been so strong it probably wormed itself into their DNA or something. Who knows, I don't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
An Outsider elder spread the rumor that a child of an Outsider and a Howling Ghost would be a monster with an insatiable need to kill. It wouldn't be able to reason and the "human" part of it would be crazed and if given the chance to grow and become strong it would just kill everything in its path both human and non-human but especially fellow werewolves. Where was the evidence to back this up? Nowhere. Remember, Outsiders did NOT want to ally themselves with Howling Ghosts even if HGs tried to let bygones by bygones. The Outsiders said no. So this rumor spread far and wide. Thing is back in ye olden days werewolf packs were like clans and each had elders which were respected. Packs had no leaders or "alphas" however the oldest members of these packs were sought after for wisdom and guidance. Just because you're old doesn't mean ya can't be a bigoted piece of shi--anyway, the rumor that elder spread caused massive histeria among the werewolf population and set back centuries of community healing and once again each breed stuck with their own. Even though the rumor was centered around only Howling Ghosts and Outsiders nobody wanted to risk it.
So now we skip all the way forward to the 1700s in the colonies, more specifically, Norfolk, Virginia where a half Russian man and a Scottish woman fell in love and met in secret and then married in secret and then actually got pregnant in secret. Remember, at this time it was kinda taboo for two different breed of werewolf to mix because "the dreaded curse".
But this Howling Ghost and Outsider pretty much did the impossible and had a child. Now, all evidence would've pointed to the baby being its mother's same breed so they expected an Outsider. Nope. That baby turned out to be the first Crossed Breed and now instead of four breeds of werewolf we now have five. Which brings us to Angelus.
You know how astrology "governs" a person's entire personality? Born--and I do wanna emphasize this--BORN werewolves also have something similar. Howling Ghosts tend to be assertive, strong and natural leaders. Outsiders are snobbish, traditional and stubborn. Mist Walkers are patient, adventurous and chill. Silver Sights are active, curious and competitive.
Okay but what about the Crossed Breed? Who knows? No, really, who knows? You can't make a basis for an entire breed off the strength of just one individual. Angelus is not only the first Crossed Breed but the only Crossed Breed and given the fact that a decade of brutal child abuse that he sustained altered his entire personality and mental and emotional state it would be unfair and incorrect to base what a Crossed Breed is like just off of him.
Now, Angelus gets a very bad rep. Not only is he a werewolf and like I said at the start werewolves are savage balls of rage that need to rip and tear everything to pieces but he is the living embodiment of a "curse". Centuries of rumors and disinformation did him no favors. Right off the bat Angelus is automatically feared by other werewolves that don't know him. Most werewolves still believe all the false rumors, the fact that out of all the other breeds Angelus is three times stronger, faster, more agile, with three times the endurance and a bite force that would make a Nile crocodile's jaw look limp in comparison, on paper he's actually at the very tippy top of the food chain. Among all other werewolves he's the draft horse of the werewolf world being much larger than a creature that's already large as fuck and his bark, snarls and howls sound vastly different than other werewolves so hearing him would make an atheist start praying. Aside from that Angelus has shown a higher degree of aggression and a tendency to be territorial with not just his things and living space but with people as well, we'll get to that. As far as most werewolves are concerned Angelus is the super apex predator. It does not help at all that if Angelus bites a human they don't turn into a werewolf, no, they die a horrific and agonizing death. If his saliva somehow gets into a human's blood it's game over. That's why he's extra careful around humans.
Knowing this a lot of werewolves feel a lot of different ways about him. Some actually celebrate his existence and believe he's the next evolutionary step for the werewolf, others don't care at all and are just fine with him as he is, after all, all five breeds differ from one another, then there's those who absolutely hate the fact that he even exists, this is due to fear and again misinformation believing the "curse" to be real and that's it's only a matter of time before he snaps and turns violent or just outright envy. Most of the hate comes from Outsiders. Remember that I said certain born werewolves have certain traits? Outsiders are often seen as the weakest of all the breeds and throughout the eons they've developed a kind of superiority complex to balance things out and they just come off as bourgeois assholes.
So with all of that Angelus tends to not parade around the fact that he's a Crossed Breed. Not only to avoid being jumped and attacked but to avoid making people uncomfortable. Not to mention that during that decade where he was being abused he was conditioned to believe he was a freak, a monster, that CBs are not natural and a threat. So being proud of being the first and only CB is a luxury that Angelus cannot afford mostly for his own safety and years of conditioning.
Now let's touch up on Angelus as a werewolf. During full moons all werewolves undergo an invasive transformation or shift, whatever you wanna call it, that turns them into hulking and beastial wolves. At first glance they look like your average wolf but upon closer inspection these things are just MAAAAAAASSIVE with muscle upon muscle, huge claws, large sharp teeth, unkempt fur that's just always puffed out, paws that easily cover a human's whole head and glowing eyes. And by glowing I mean everything glows, the sclera, the iris and the pupil. What color obviously depends on the breed. Add to that that they all constantly salivate which kinda makes them look like they're rabid. They actually are, it's just a far more aggressive and controlled form of it.
Werewolves are usually lone hunters as each full moon they must consume one human heart to sustain their regenerative and immune systems so no werewolf wants competition. However, if they know there's a group of humans then they will hunt as a pack. Once a single heart has been consumed it doesn't mean it'll just shift back into human form and carry on with the rest of the night. They will continue to hunt and often times pair up with other werewolves that have eaten a human heart as the more there are the more successful their kill rates will be. The hearts will remain intact often times they'll just eat the flesh of their victims and lap up the blood. There is literally no point in eating more than one heart so they leave the rest intact in case another werewolf that needs it can come by and eat.
But families of werewolves will hunt in packs and take down prey taking turns in eating the hearts. This has also been observed with groups of friends though their friendship needs to be solid. It's a trust thing, a bond that those in the same pack experience.
Other species have been known to team up with werewolves, most commonly are vampires as they both consume two different things and both need to gtfo to safety before sunrise.
At the end of the night the werewolf shifts back into human form often times groggy from gorging themself on flesh, blood and sometimes bits of bone and cartilage. A werewolf not eating food the day after a full moon is pretty common unless all they were able to do was eat the heart and one person.
Angelus usually teams up with fellow werewolves Trevor, Mahmud, Mason and Madison during full moons after spending the day scouting for potential prey. Think of the most vile groups of people you can think of, that's who they target. There's the blood farms but they prefer to leave that for citizens.
A werewolf in wolf form is uncontrollable. They only have the hunt in mind and that is all that drives them. They get serious tunnel vision during full moons. There is no amount of "power of friendship" or "love conquers all" that will stop a werewolf from killing your human ass. They shift, they hunt, they eat and shift back as the sun starts to rise. End of story.
Unless they're wearing Moonbane.
These are enchanted pieces of meteorites that are shaped into jewelry or accessories for werewolves to wear so they can "suppress the beast". It can be a necklace, a ring, a pair of earrings, a piercing of some kind--as long as it is on the werewolf's body than it'll work.
Trevor, for example, has...gods I think they're called grillz(s?)...I'm so sorry...on his upper and lower fangs which is how he wears his Moonbane. Mason has a charm in the shape of a rabbit's foot and in the back he has his parents' and siblings names etched into it that he wears on a necklace. That charm is Mason's Moonbane. Angelus's Moonbane is the lip piercing he has. You get the idea.
Now obviously it's encouraged to have more than one backup because let's face it you could easily lose those items.
Moonbane is the answer to all werewolves' prayers. While wearing Moonbane werewolves are not forced to shift during full moons giving them the freedom to choose when and where and for how long they remain in their wolf shift. It even lessens the brutality of the shift as shifting is violent and extremely painful. Flesh is stretching, bones are stretching and snapping, muscles are tearing, tendons are under immense pressure. They can actually hear the snapping and tearing as it happens in real time. In short it ain't pleasant, it's actually pretty terrible and some people black out from the pain till it's over.
This also allows the werewolf to see a little bit of reason. Their temperament goes from 100 to about 20 give or take. Now, it's never a good idea to hang around a werewolf while they're in their shifted form even if they're under the effects of the Moonbane. It's about as safe as being around a wolf at a zoo. They're used to people and won't just randomly attack but they're still wild animals. Werewolves won't attack loved ones, friends, spouses or their non-werewolf children as they can now distinguish them from prey. This is where scent comes in. Scent is uber important to the werewolf as even in human form they can take in scents of loved one, friends and family and so on. Whether in human form or wolf form they heavily rely on scent to distinguish who is in their pack and who isn't. Still, you may wanna gtfo. Just in case.
And you guessed it, there's a but for Angelus. Remember like 20k paragraphs back I mentioned that Angelus was prone to being more aggressive, more territorial with his things, living space, and people? Even under the effects of Moonbane that man's temperament stays at 100, so what does that mean? He can be reasoned with and he'll understand what you're trying to say to him but you better make damn sure you move slowly and keep an even and low tone. Absolutely no sudden moves. And for the love of god do not display any signs of hostility either towards him or a loved one because he will NOT hesitate. However, if it's someone whose scent he knows like for example Jelani, Loke, Trevor, Ginger or the others who he's close to they're fine. They don't really have anything to worry about. New people shouldn't approach him in wolf form until he's comfortable with them and he'll be the first to say it. Upon meeting new people he first gets their scent which carries a lot of information. He actually prefers to get someone's scent before their name. Not being able to get a scent is a huge red flag for him and he instantly sees that person or thing as untrustworthy.
Ya know how your pet dog barks when someone's close to your house? If someone that's unknown is close to or in his apartment he's usually right behind Jelani studying and getting a scent to determine if this is a friend or foe. No, he's not gonna bark and sniff someone's ass. As he listens to you talk or even doing some of the talking himself he's getting a scent which with his nose is very easy as long as he's a few feet nearby. Angelus isn't the only werewolf to do this as all werewolves do this. He's just less relaxed than the rest about it. Whatever living space he deems as his is fiercely protected, items that he deems important as well. For example his drawing tablet. He has the means to go out and buy a truckload of the top of the line ones if he wanted to but a stranger going near his will kinda wire his brain to keep an eye on it. With Jelani it's like ten times worse. That's his spouse and his source of safety since he first met them. He is aggressively overprotective of them and strangers going anywhere near them is like 100 emergency sirens all going off at once. He checks the person or thing's scent, keeps an eye on body language, tone of voice, movement, eye movement and placement, space between them and Jelani and so on. If he reads the situation as safe he relaxes but is always at the ready to drop anyone that so much as looks at Jelani the wrong way. Basically Jelani married a hyper vigilant Doberman. He's also the same way with Trevor and Loke who he sees as kind of like the older brothers he never had. Ginger as well who's not only like a sister to him but his bff and by extension her wife, Abigail. In short anyone he loves. This behavior isn't just displayed in human form, in wolf form he does the same thing except it's far more intimidating in wolf form than in human form.
But how do we separate what behavior is because of the species and breed Angelus is and his own personality? It's a mix of both. **This info isn't lore this is from me. Crossed Breeds are more animalistic which is why Angelus tends to act that way when he doesn't feel safe or is uncomfy. It's just how Crossed Breeds are. If there was another one they'd also share this trait with Angelus.**
Will there ever be another Crossed Breed? Idk. It's not in my plans to have another one show up but it could happen.

The Grey and the Dark Legacy Challenge
A six generation legacy challenge dedicated to morally grey and villainous sims.
Required packs: Get to Work, Island Living, Journey to Batuu, Strangerville, Werewolves, Vampires, Paranormal
Getting started: Aging can be set to whatever you prefer, including being turned off entirely. Gen 1 can be created alone, or with a spouse, sibling, parents, etc., and can be of any age. The listed aspiration does not have to be picked as the sim's first one; they just need to work on (and ideally complete) it at some point in their lives. This challenge is meant to be flexible and guide storytelling, not to be intentionally difficult, so feel free to make changes to the rules where you need to.
Currently play-testing. As I do, I may make some changes.
Generation 1: For Peace
The more you’ve learned about the world, the better you understand just how vulnerable the planet of Earth really is. You’re devoted to protecting the human race from the wilds of space, to ensure peace and security. Some might not agree with your methods, but you know that the ends justify the means.
Career: Military (Covert Operator Branch)
Aspiration: Enforcer of Order
Traits: Gloomy, Paranoid, Neat
Goals:
Max career and aspiration
Defeat the Mother Plant
Generation 2: For Chaos
As a child, you suffocated under the strict discipline of your parent. You want to be free of their self-righteous hypocrisy and embrace your flaws to the greatest extreme.
Career: Criminal (Boss)
Aspiration: Public Enemy
Traits: Evil, Hot-Headed, Slob
Goals:
Max the career and aspiration
Contract werebies and become a werewolf
Turn 5 Sims into werewolves
Have at least one non-werewolf child (this must be your heir).
Generation 3: For the Unnatural
You grew up in a household that was brutal, crude, and utterly boring. The only interesting people were the faceless whispers you heard in the trees, and the songs of sirens who drowned their lovers in the sea. You’re a romantic who yearns to fall deeper into the nether realm, and your favorite love story has always been a tragic one.
Career: Freelancer (Paranormal Investigator)
Aspiration: Villainous Valentine
Traits: Romantic, Loves Outdoors, Child of the Ocean
Goals:
Become a mermaid
Max aspiration
Max the charisma skill
Max the medium skill
Perform the Siren’s Call on at least one sim
Generation 4: For the Unknown
You never quite had the talent to invoke the nether realm the way your parent did. You found your solace in technology and science, but there’s a part of you that will always be drawn back to the supernatural.
Career: Criminal (Oracle)
Aspiration: Chief of Mischief
Traits: Mean, Creative, Geek
Goals:
Max career & aspiration
Max the logic skill
Have an observatory and complete the space prints collection.
Be abducted by aliens.
Generation 5: For Opportunity
You grew up with your parent’s fascination for the stars, but when you finally make your way into the larger galaxy, you find things aren’t really much different than they are on Earth. Money and greed still make the worlds go round, and though you’re disillusioned, you find yourself adapting quite well to this new truth.
Career: Astronaut (Interstellar Smuggler)
Aspiration: Galactic Privateer
Traits: Kleptomaniac, Self-Assured, Outgoing
Goals:
Max career & aspiration
Use the Listening Device to blackmail other sims
Have at least one child that is not an occult (this must be your heir)
Generation 6: For Eternity
As a member of the ever-changing galactic underworld, you watched your parent so often barely escape with their life, and the fragile nature of mortality became something you despise. You may have been raised with all the “right” connections, but you have greater ambitions than to just stay in the game. You want to build something that lasts, to be something that lasts for centuries.
Career: Secret Agent (Villain)
Aspiration: Mansion Baron
Traits: Materialistic, Loner, Ambitious
Goals:
Max career & aspiration
Become a vampire
Reach the rank of Grand Master Vampire

Saw you mention World of Darkness and that's been my main hyperfixation for like a year (and finally getting my roommates into it gonna try to start a chronicle on Halloween with em) so I gotta ask which splat is your favorite?
See I can't just give my favorite overall. Each game has a favorite in it, don't make me choose from between them xD For Vampire the Masquerade: The Salubri, with Gangrel and Banu Haqim nipping at their heels. I love my three eyed healers and they're so much fun even if they're all horribly traumatized at this point. For Werewolf the Apocalypse: Has to be the Black Furies. Amazonian werewolves who are ready to throw down for a good cause? Hell yeah. Though if we're counting all weres, then def the Gurahl (Werebears). For Orpheus: Haunters. I can turn myself into electricity and haunt your shit? Yes please. For Mummy the Resurrection: Khri-habi. If its not clear yet, I do tend to play healer type characters, and they can be very fun in Mummy. For Hunter the Reckoning: The Entrepreneurial. Look, I love Shadowrun, and this lets me kinda do what Riggers do in that game but to hunt down monsters. For Wraith the Oblivion: No. You can't make me play it again. Its so fucking heart breaking and sad. Do not play this game unless you are ready to feel absolutely emotionally vulnerable with your playgroup. You will cry playing it. Don't play it. That being said, the Oracles. For Changeling the Dreaming: Fuck the Sidhe, viva la Trolls! A lot like the Black Furies, big tough fae ready to throw down for a good cause and fuck shit up. For Demon the Fallen: Scourges. Again, healers. You put me in a game and give me a way to be a healer, I'm going to fucking do it every time xD And then for my favorite system in WoD, Mage the Ascension: The Virtual Adepts. Mostly cause they have the focus on Correspondence, but also because their magic works with like...viewing the universe as a program they just need to learn the language for and edit/hack to get things to happen.

ttrpg directory 2024
it's been a hot minute since i made a round-up of my blorbos, so have an updated roster below the cut!
pathfinder (2e)
electra godstongue (elf aasimar oracle of flames): her four-year-long campaign finally wrapped up, so my baby girl has gone into...retirement? LOL, no. she's got a backlog of resurrection rituals she promised, plus she needs to pester the gods until they help her undo yet more of aroden's bullshit. plus she and the gang might get back together to go beat up an immortal dryad living in absalom for stealing the sun from the darklands. might fuck around and attain godhood while she's at it? i mean, the starstone would be right there.
god, having a level 20 character is nutty. you can just say things like that! and be serious!
two-feet "tufi" stalks in dappled leaves (elf animal instinct barbarian): a PC for a homebrew campaign. she is also, somehow, part of a traveling circus, which is only slightly more bonkers than her previous occupation, which was "feral child living with a pack of mountain lions." she doesn't believe in shoes or weapons—that's what her teeth are for. she's currently on her way to rescue a dragon from...a cult or something. she stopped paying attention halfway through the mission briefing.
nordylva "nori" rook (elf commander): not related to that new veilguard game. nori is a veteran of lastwall, and my PC for a kingmaker campaign! she escaped lastwall with her unit and several civilians when tar-baphon returned, only to be caught and mauled by a pack of werewolves in the virlych region of ustalav. her tragic backstory is fully narrated here. currently she's mapping a region of the Stolen Lands under a charter from brevoy, accompanied by a party of monster hunters...none of whom know that she's a werewolf. with the full moon fast approaching.
fuck.
pathfinder society organized play
álmos szarka (half-elf thaumaturge): still menacing the inner seas and beyond with their charm (and charms!) álmos is a native of irrisen, the winter-locked kingdom ruled by the winter witches under the guidance of baba yaga. as such, they have an inherent dislike for magic, and spent their formative years learning every folk trick and old wives' tale that could ward off foul hexes, supernatural creatures, and worse. having finally fled irrisen as an adult, they put their knowledge to use dealing with haunts, curses, and all sorts of dangerous beasties for the pathfinder society. in the aftermath of the godsrain, álmos has been busy putting their illusion and smuggling skills to work helping 'rain-blessed' refugees flee rahadoum, while gathering intel on an extremist faction of the pure legion that seeks to take the matter of these unwilling divine magic-users into their own hands.
ivorna fen (elf twisting tree magus): miss ivy is also a pathfinder, though she found her way into their school of spells after being expelled from the chiroglyphica, a middling magic academy in taldor. she doesn't approach magic in a traditional sense, instead treating it as a complement to her martial skills. she goes on dungeon-delves quite often for the society, since she's well-equipped to find her way around magical traps and hazards; when she's not waist-deep in cobwebs she's probably putting out fires (metaphorical and literal) at the dacilane academy for pathfinders' children.
zafsah "the harrower" reiland (fetchling ranger): an expat from nidal who took up a post guarding the nirmathas border from undead incursions before being recruited by the pathfinders. zafsah prefers the company of nature to people, and never travels anywhere without her trusty terror bird, hades. recently she and hades have been helping track, study, and calm the wildlife on the island of kayajima in minkai, where she was stationed for a mission when gorum died and the godsrain fell. the red rain drove some of the fauna into a dangerous frenzy, and she and hades have already rescued a pair of griffins, a tiger, and a family of ducks (which immediately imprinted on hades).
eike blacksun (human warpriest of sarenrae): the daughter of a minor chelaxian noble house, eike was originally sworn into service of the temple of asmodeus as a champion. however, her faith was badly shaken when her young cousin was executed by the state, supposedly on charges of sedition—which rang a little hollow since he was all of eleven years old. she abandoned her oath to asmodeus and joined an underground cell of sarenrae worshippers, who taught her the doctrine of redemption and healing. she joined the pathfinders to help bring freedom to the chelish people. lately she's been working covert missions in egorian and westcrown, battling devils to thin the forces of the crown.
maris may (merfolk hydrokineticist): 'maris' is technically a pseudonym, but since her birth name is impossible to pronounce above water, it's the one she uses most commonly. maris is from one of the rare trench kingdoms of merfolk at the bottom of the arcadian ocean; she was forced to abandon her home when it was overrun by algollthus, and since the shallow-water merfolk communities were as alien to her as the surface world, she figured in for a whisker, in for a whalefall, and emigrated to absalom. the pathfinder society allows her to travel and experience the wonders of the surface while making accommodations for her needs—not a need for access to water, which she can make herself, but her blindness, which was common in her home where the light didn't reach but isn't accounted for in most above-water communities.
karina harker (human dhampir avenger rogue): karina is the youngest daughter of a pair of accomplished scholars from ustalav, both of whom moonlighted as vampire-slayers in their younger years. family lore says that her mother mina was bitten by a vampire long before karina or her siblings were born; mina survived, and neither her eldest son quincey nor her daughter lucy showed signs of vampiric influence, but a necrotic influenza swept through lepidstadt while karina was in the womb, and she was born with red eyes and fangs. her parents taught her and her siblings the basics of slaying undead, but once she reached her majority karina went into service of a militant sect of church-sanctioned hunters, worshippers of arazni and vicious undead-slayers. she joined the pathfinders as part of a partnership program between them and the knights of lastwall, and hopes to recruit more pathfinder agents to fight back the tide of undeath sweeping across lake encarthan.
starfinder (1e)
star mistress britta makee: somehow STILL has not died. she did recently get sucked through a wormhole, though, which was deeply unpleasant. currently she's battling her way through the graveyard of the gods to destroy some sort of fucked-up moon that's fueling a legion of unkillable murderous robots, because of course it is.
starfinder (2e playtest)
yenva togzu (fetchling shadow mystic): yenva is a native of the netherworld, and was raised by a cult of zon-kuthon in the shadow version of skydock. after zon-kuthon's divine reunion with his sister shelyn, yenva took up worship of their new deity with characteristic zeal, and departed the netherworld to help spread the good news of zon-shelyn's worship throughout the universe. they're rarely seen without their painglaive at hand, though in quiet moments they're known to sit down and sketch out tattoo designs.
syzygy (lashunta borai witchwarper): "sizzy," as her companions usually call her, doesn't remember when she died. it must have been at some point during the millenia-long blank space in history known only as "the Gap," although she finds her death less interesting than the fact that she woke up at some point after, secured in a pod in cold storage on a remote space station. somewhere, somehow, a tear formed in the fabric of spacetime, and syzygy fell through: no longer dead, not really alive, and full of weird reality-warping magic. these days she's mostly taking cargo transport jobs, although a couple of them have gone weird, but she has proven adept at dealing with ships suddenly overrun with ghosts!
greeroy jenkins (skittermander soldier bombardier): he has six arms, two grenade launchers, and enough adrenaline to kill a void troll. best move out of the way.
#journal#cyan's ttrpg adventures#BEHOLD: blorbos. blorbae?#you will notice an explosion of society characters. that is because i have started GMing for society#and i need somewhere to put all those chronicle sheets
