He became a professor at Hogwarts while acting as a spy for Dumbledore. He was killed by Voldemort during the battle of Hogwarts

Cannon

* His father was abusive and his mother was neglectful

* He began to identify with his mother's family and created a secret nickname from his mother's maiden name, calling himself the "Half-Blood Prince"

* His unhappy relationship with his father may have been the origin of his disdain for Muggles

* Lily Evans and her family lived in the same town, close to Spinner's End. After watching her for some time, Severus noticed her evident magical abilities and began making friendly overtures. The two bonded quickly and it appears that he was very interested in Lily right from the beginning, though she only regarded him as a good friend. During this time he also developed a contempt towards her older sister, Petunia. This was most likely because she made disparaging comments about his clothes and residence but may also be because she was a Muggle

* Had a rivalry with The Marauders

* At the age of eleven, he knew more curses and hexes than most of the seventh year students, according to Sirius Black. He was credited with creating a good number of popular spells like Levicorpus, Liberacorpus, Muffliato, and curses like Langlock, the Toenail Growth Hex, and his signature curse that he invented himself, Sectumsempra

* Hung out with Mulciber, Wilkes, Avery and Evan Rosier at one point

* Severus also had contact with Lucius Malfoy, who was a prefect during his first year and greeted him kindly when he was Sorted into the Slytherin House. Most likely the two had good rapport at Hogwarts (which could also be a reason why Narcissa Malfoy trusted Severus to take care of Draco Malfoy and why he seemed to favour Draco during his later teaching years even when Draco refused it in the task to kill Dumbledore)

* Stopped being friends with Lily Evans after he called her a mudblood

* Severus noticed that Remus Lupin  kept disappearing during the full moon and once followed him past the Whomping Willow (after being tipped off on how to do so by Sirius Black) to confirm his suspicions. This act could have cost Severus his life, as had it not been for James Potter  going after him to stop him when he learned of Sirius' 'prank', he might have found himself all on his own and caught off guard by a fully-fledged werewolf. As it was, however, James did reach Severus in time and managed to save him just before he got to the Shrieking Shack while Remus was in his wolf-form. Albus Dumbledore swore Severus to secrecy, but the true nature of Remus was clear to Severus

* Severus was a talented wizard even in his childhood. It was apparent through the notes and scribbles in his potions textbook that he made time during classes to invent curses, charms, and clever potion innovations, while simultaneously learning the required textbook lessons.

* Became a death eater for the first war

* His actions as a Death Eater are largely unknown, though he quickly became an important Death Eater in Voldemort's inner circle. He was the spy responsible for informing Voldemort about the prophecy foretelling his downfall. In early 1980, Snape eavesdropped on an interview for Divination Professor Sybill Trelawney and Albus Dumbledore at the Hog's Head Inn.

* When Snape realised that his actions had put Lily in danger he asked Voldemort to spare her to which he agreed to (idk why considering Lily is a muggleborn but I guess Voldemort is a good wingman) But Snape didn't really trust that so he went to Dumbledore to ask him to save Lily and even James and Harry if he must

* He then changed sides and became a spy for Dumbledore

* Distrusted for his past as a Death Eater by those on Albus Dumbledore's side, and hated by other Death Eaters for living as Dumbledore's stooge for ten years, Snape continued living on to complete Dumbledore's plan to protect Harry and defeat Voldemort

* Became potions master and the head of Slytherin House

* He initially applied for the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, but was rejected multiple times.

* Following Voldemort's fall, Snape never attempted to find his old master, having switched sides ever since the Dark Lord had targeted Lily and this allowed him to avoid time in Azkaban as Dumbledore staunchly defended him

* During the 1993-1994 school year, Snape demonstrated his expertise with potions by brewing the complex Wolfsbane Potion for Remus Lupin. Throughout this year, Snape suspected that Lupin may be helping Sirius Black, an escapee from Azkaban, enter Hogwarts castle

* Near the end of the school year, Snape ambushed Black as he entered the school again and attempted to apprehend him, believing him to have been the one who had betrayed Lily to Voldemort. Snape appeared from under the Invisibility cloak that Harry had left near the Whomping Willow, tied Remus up, and while engaged in a vociferous argument with Harry and Hermione, he attempted to arrange to send Sirius and Remus to Azkaban Prison

* On the last day of school, he revealed to his students that Lupin was a werewolf, forcing Lupin to resign his post.

* Snape was finally told the truth about Sirius's innocence and was forced by Dumbledore to shake hands

* He was subsequently sent on a secret mission by Dumbledore to rejoin the Death Eaters and spy on the Dark Lord as a double agent

* Snape was almost immediately forgiven by the reborn Voldemort, because he could provide him with thirteen years of information on Dumbledore and the Order of the Phoenix.

* He joined the second Order of the Phoenix during the second wizarding war

* In July 1996 Dumbledore had been afflicted by a powerful curse cast on Marvolo Gaunt's ring, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes, prior to the start of Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts. Although Snape's knowledge of the Dark Arts enabled him to slow the spread of the curse, the curse would have ultimately killed Dumbledore within a year. Dumbledore, aware that Voldemort had ordered Draco to kill him, asked Snape to kill him instead as a way of sparing the boy's soul and of preventing his own otherwise slow, painful death

* Narcissa swore Snape to an Unbreakable Vow, on pain of death should he break it, that he would protect Draco, help him complete Voldemort's task, and finish the task himself if Draco failed

* During the 1996-1997 school year Snape became the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. For that year he taught his classes with much more passion and became less biassed towards his students, letting Hermione Granger ask her questions and giving Crabbe and Goyle detention for dissatisfying progress in their repeated fifth year

* Kill Dumbledore in mid 1997 on the top of the Astronomy Tower

* Shortly after the battle of the seven Potters in July 1997, Severus visited 12 Grimmauld Place where, in Sirius Black's bedroom, he found Lily Potter's letter. Snape had cut off the letter and took the page, which contained Lily's signature and love. He also cut off the picture of the Potter family and took the page, which contained Lily, for himself.

* During the 1997-1998 school year, Snape was named Headmaster of Hogwarts, while Death Eaters Alecto and Amycus Carrow were appointed Deputy Heads. Snape used his position as Headmaster to discreetly protect the students and to contain the Carrows. It is later understood that, during his time as Headmaster, Snape consulted with the portraits of the previous Headmasters, and continued to receive instructions from Dumbledore's portrait

* Upon being informed by the portrait of Phineas Nigellus Black of Harry Potter's whereabouts, Dumbledore's portrait instructed Snape to give Harry the sword of Gryffindor without the latter knowing it

* During the Battle of Hogwarts on the 2nd May 1998 Snape was summoned by Voldemort to the Shrieking Shack. Voldemort explained that he believed that Snape was the master of the Elder Wand from killing Dumbledore and that Snape must die so that the Elder Wand can be his. Snape tried to explain the situation but Voldemort ordered Nagini to kill Snape by biting into his neck, injecting him with her extremely poisonous venom, before he could finish speaking

* Snape's portrait was not automatically put into the Headmaster's office since he had essentially abandoned his post during the Battle of Hogwarts. However, Harry, in one of his acts of showing reconciliation towards Snape, made sure that his portrait was placed there

He also stayed in touch with Charity and Aurora during this time and would often meet with them while they all worked at Hogwarts

The Mandalorians may be the best warriors in the galaxy and feared by many but the love affection and devotion for one’s partner is high and shown in public and at home, if any outsider has a problem with their open love they usually would receive a punch to the jaw or worse.

On the Great War

About the Decepticons and Autobots in my AU. They are both morally grey. Both sides did awful things during the war. The start of the war was a rebellion on the Deception side. The planet was already somewhat divided considering their history and the Destrons and the Protectobots. 

750 million stellar cycles ago:

“A faction of Protectobots called Autobots comes to prominence on an agenda of expanding Cybertronian influence to neighboring planets.The Age of Expansion begins.”

300 million stellar cycles ago: 

“The Age of Expansion ends after several border skirmishes with the Quintesson Pan-Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere. The Destrons feel that they shouldered a disproportionate share of the burden of defending the Autobot Commonwealth while not reaping equal benefits.”

While peaceful the divide started growing further manipulated by the senate for the sake of power. War and flight frames started being treated worse and discriminated agains, to be used by the government , while civilian frames started being fed propaganda about how the others were dangerous and volatile, so that they wouldn’t want to stand up for war frames and sympathize with them. The rift between the two continued growing for years, as new factions- the Autobots and the Decepticons arose. The tipping point of the conflict was the passing of the Decepticon Registration Act. That’s when the riots begin.  The Decepticons are originally led by Megazarack with Megatron as one of his generals. The response to the rebellion by the government is as harsh if not more. This culminates with the assassination of the senate. From then on it’s full on civil war that spams over the next 10 million years. The first 2/3 mil years it is fought mostly on Cybertron and the moons. Around this time is also when Megatron becomes leader of the ‘cons. Afterwards the war starts expanding throughout Cybertronian Commonwealth and beyond. This is when Stormrunner, Thunderhead, Jumpstart and the triplets finally flee(my OCs). While Autobot propaganda might have you believe that the Decepticons lost the war, the truth is that even though the Autobots had access to technology that the Cons did not such as the trans warp and Project Omega, both factions were pretty equal in regards to firepower. In fact the Autobots were desperate enough to decide to throw the AllSpark to Primus-knows-where through a space bridge. With the relics whereabouts a mystery Megatron realises that if the war continues they might end up destroying Cybertron with no way to restore it. The Battle of Iacon is a last ditch effort from Megatron to take Cybertron but with the weakened state of the deception fleet it is unsuccessful. They can continue fighting but it would be devastating. For the sake of their home planet the Tyrest Records are signed and the Decepticons accept exile in exchange for amnesty. However due to the prewar propaganda what Autobots consider “deceptions” is actually all war and flight frames who are not explicitly Autobots. This includes all Neutrals such as Stormrunner and co. 

The sad truth is that the Cybertronian people fell victims to a greedy corrupt government that saw to manipulate them, divide them and ultimately turn them against each other. The war just helped to further cement this divide. And while the majority of said corrupt government ended up dying in the war, there are a few who survived and managed to weasel their way into Autobot high command.

Something that’s very ironic is the two factions stance on alien species. Before and during the beginning of the war Decepticon opinions on non- Cybertronians and especially organics, was at best indifference and disregard and at worst outright hatred, while Autobot philosophy was to defend them. That was another tool that was  used to manipulate the masses- the deceptions were told that the lack of recourses was because of aliens not allowing them to expand the commonwealth, while civilians were told that the violent and bloodthirsty war frames wanted to wage war on innocent aliens just to satisfy their bloodlust. 

After the war however, in their exile the Decepticons found themselves strongly relaying on other species to rebuild and ended up forming alliances and positive relationships with them. The Autobots on the other hand took an isolationist approach and as time passed they became more xenophobic towards non Cybertronians.

I have like,,, zero idea how to properly start this au introduction off so here’s some artwork of it

Basically it’s a crossbreed between a pirate au and a Luca au, Sunny, Foxy, and later Chica, are all apart of the same crew. With Foxy as the captain, Sunny as the mapmaker and janitor, and Chica on lookout and storage.

After a series of unfortunate events, Sunny is cursed to turn into a sea monster when they get water on them or during full moons. (Essentially just a werewolf but replaced with a fish. Werefish /hj) This curse gets increasingly worse over-time so that more things trigger the transformation, looking less ‘human’ after turning back, and their mind beginning to be less conscious and switching up to act on animal instinct (see pic 6).

On their first night of this happening, they meet Moon, who’s currently having the exact opposite problem of gaining humanity and intelligence piece by piece. Aside from that he’s essentially just got a Luca situation going on and an immediate crush on Sunny. So they agree to teach each other how to operate under and above water while Sunny tries to find a way to un-curse themself.

Sunny, of course, hides all of this from Foxy out of fear that he’d hurt or abandon them. Thinking they can solve all this themself.

This totally won’t cause any problems later.

i am confused by some self described maoists opposing gun regulations and saying the proletariat must be armed, and i remember you once said most of this comes from misinterpreting one thing marx said about an already-armed proletariat, could you expand on that?

because my thinking is, 1) people are materially, demonstratively safer in places with less guns and less excuses for cops to shoot them and 2) ... it's not like places like the US seem any closer to a revolution unless I'm missing something, right? All of this to me sounds exactly like when some extremely online "communists" oppose a labour reform that will make material improvements for the working class because they perceive worse conditions as more conductive to a revolution, which is something that, if nothing else, is horrible optics for any communist to say since it sounds like they _want_ things to get worse, which rightfully would make any working person want to punch them

SRA and similar types drastically take the quote “Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary” out of context in a very silly way, interpreting it as 'basically the 2nd amendment', as marx just saying that the working class should all own their own gun as individuals--when in fact marx said this in a very specific context, discussing an organized working class in the midst of a popular democratic revolution against feudalism (such as the february revolution in russia or the xinhai revolution in china) in which the proletariat and bourgeoisie were united against aristocratic and royalist elements, and the need of organized proletarian militias to maintain their weapons even after the success of such a revolution to guard against betrayal by the bourgeoisie of the sort marx wrote of extensively in the case of the french revolutions. here's the quote in its full context:

During and after the struggle the workers must at every opportunity put forward their own demands against those of the bourgeois democrats. They must demand guarantees for the workers as soon as the democratic bourgeoisie sets about taking over the government. it's a total and deeply unserious misinterpretation of what marx actually said, and imo it is indicative less of anything specific to maoism but of the usamerican individualist mindset, who cannot conceive of 'the proletariat' as conceiving of anything other than scattered individuals making personal purchasing and lifestyle decisions. to paraphrase the least annoying mcelroy brother, if you buy a glock you're not arming the proletariat, you're arming the justin. you and your SRA buddies owning guns is not an 'armed proletariat', it's an 'armed just some guys'.

& of course these people will make much hay about the black panthers' use of firearms while once again completely failing to understand what the black panthers actually were (an organization founded on marxist principles) and what they used those guns for (to patrol, in groups, around their neighbourhoods to prevent police from acting with impunity). not for personal 'self defence' but for organized, community self-defense. which kind of gets to the heart of it, a gun is not actually useful for 'self-defense', owning a gun doesn't make you safer, but because of this individualism the specter of the random street hate crime which you can epically john wick your way out of plays an oversized role in the political imagination of these people who, again, cannot envision what self-defense looks like on a community or class basis.

another argument that will be made is that "well, personal gun ownership isn't revolutionary action now, but if there's a revolution how do you expect the revolutionary party to become armed if not through preexisting individual gun ownership?" needless to say i think this is very silly. no revolutionary or guerilla movement in history has ever relied upon the personal gun ownership of its members, because that's a fucking stupid way to operate a serious fighting force.

now that doesn't mean i actually think that gun control legislation in the usa is prima facie a good idea -- i think if the last few years have hammered any point home it's that the cops don't need excuses to shoot people, and that any theoretical program of firearm confiscation would be accompanied by disproportional leniency for right-wing white gun owners and disproportional violence and brutality against latino and black gun owners. i don't think guns are ontologically evil, i think if you want to own a gun that's whatever--but i do think that SRA types are for the most part wilfully deluding themselves that their particular type of consumerism and hobbyism is serious revolutionary activism in much the same way that people who make a big deal out of buying from their local small business queer owned coffee shop are.

Work continues throughout Arx to deal with Collective holdouts and suicide bombers. Even after they were repelled and denied resources, they have fallen back on increasingly desperate attacks to overcome us. It’s only good fortune that the Collective placed little value in guerilla tactics that we continue to win out against them. Given their clear advantages on several fronts, the men and women of the Iron Legion under my command have been tasked with recovering anything of value for R&D.

One particular item uncovered recently is being dispatched today. It was mounted to the forearm of a combat cyborg, replacing the flesh and blood entirely. Such implant weapons are not uncommon within the ranks of the Technocrats, but this particular creation appeared to be a form of prototype upgrade, intended for both melee and medium range engagements.

The first point of note is that the forearm stores an immensely powerful generator for its size, capable of recharging multiple battle rifles. This would be enough to keep a cannon in full operation, but it exists purely to serve the weapon arm. This is a departure from typical Collective designs, as they otherwise favour utilising a single central power core to keep their systems active.

From the wrist upward, the arm retains three distinct weapons and one shield. The latter serves a purpose akin to molecular shielding. It is capable of not just reflecting but absorbing incoming fire, and uses this to recharge its core. When projected, this extends into a circular energy shield, measured in thirty inches in all directions from its middle. Its effectiveness against lightsabers is limited, as proven in the skirmish where we acquired this item, but it appears able to briefly resist them. We can assume that influence from Mandalorian gauntlet weapons was a key inspiration in this design, likely born of their effectiveness in fighting the Jedi Order.

The design itself is by no means wholly reliant upon the shield. Fitted with durasteel alloys, it can withstand multiple hits from standard blaster rifles, and these are linked by an energy-resistant fabric which nullifies the impact of low yield weapons.

The first of the weapons is the hand itself. The enlarged fingertips serve as a focus to wiring connections and a series of cables, which allows it to snap closed with immense force. This is akin to a crushgaunt in design, but with a far greater emphasis on delivering force at its points. This allows the wielder to inflict far more damage from sheer strength, while the enlarged surface area means it can inflict harm across a broader section of an opponent’s body. This makes wielders of this bionic upgrade especially dangerous when performing grappling moves, as they can completely destroy shoulder joints. I would not be surprised if they can be utilised to completely dismember an enemy.

The more notable weapon, mounted into an emplacement on the back of the hand, is a kyber crystal enhanced beam weapon categorised as a “laseron destroyer”. While incapable of firing the beam in singular extended blasts as might be expected, it makes up for this through repeated bursts of fire and rapid recharge rates. This has proven to be highly effective against infantry and light vehicles, even those protected by energy resistant armour.

Finally, the large weapon mount on the palm is a four-point Composite-beam laser, serving as a heavy weapon. The damage it inflicts is comparable with a direct strike from a man-portable cannon such as an E-Web repeating blaster. The details behind this design are still being examined, but it poses a clear threat against heavily armoured targets. Furthermore, the beam can be fired for up to sixteen seconds at a time, and redirected depending upon the wielder’s aim, allowing them to carve apart anything in front of them.

Thankfully, experimentation has already indicated a number of key weaknesses in the design. Although it benefits from having dedicated power generators, these need to be fine-tuned and occupy almost the entirety of the forearm. This is prone to overheating when constantly demanded from use, and we believe that this could inflict potentially lethal harm on the user if overtaxed. Furthermore, while heavily armoured, it would only take a glancing hit to its internals to trigger a catastrophic feedback of energy, completely destroying the implant and the user as well.

The laseron destroyer is an effective weapon, but it requires cooldown periods between use. After a number of rapid blasts in quick succession, the weapon can overheat entirely. This can fuse its circuitry or even breach the tibanna gas containers, rendering it useless until field repairs can be made. The risk of this damage is only further enhanced by the volatile nature of kyber crystals when fitted to blaser weaponry. The housing is also extended above the arm, but this weakness is offset by the substantial armour covering the device.

The composite beam laser suffers from long recharge times, and even cracking a single point can render it useless. It takes several moments to switch between it and the laseron destroyer, and the fact they share a single power generator means that the two cannot be simultaneously utilised. Some indications suggest that damage to one can also render the other inoperable due to the way in which power feeds have been fitted into internal components.

Finally, the fingers of the crushgaunt are unwieldy and ill-suited to delicate motions. It is purely dedicated to heavy damaging motions and individual fingers are prone to jamming, especially when performing rapid repeated gestures. We are, as of yet, uncertain if this is a true weakness however, due to other discoveries in the design. Many internal and external components show obvious time-saving methods, apparently favouring a need for a swift construction over fine-tuning all parts. This is obvious on the exterior of the device due to the thick welds across the plating, but haphazard wiring seals and flaws in its mechanisms have been cited as well. This may also be the cause for fabrics being used in place of fully encasing durasteel armour as would otherwise be expected. I believe this is a result of the Collective attempting to push as many of these items into the field in as short a time as possible. They are constantly diverting resources to new projects and pushing to upgrade their current designs.

Given the treatment of their troops, it would not be surprising if this particular bionic weapon underwent little to no field testing or was built with no concern for the life of its user. This is not unexpected, but it might herald a wider weakness that can be exploited in the next stage of this war.

genuinely I wanna learn C nintendo 64 coding SO BAD to make a take on "TotK/BotW Era Termina" where TotK!Zelda is exploring with Link and finds a broken Mask deep in the Depths; unkowingly puts it on (not thinking this would be The Majora's Mask) and getting pulled into a... Termina so far into it's reincarnation cycle that Majora, in all of it's Greed, morphs and sculpts the Moon into a "seed" of sorts. Over the span of seven days you get to see the OPEN MOUTH OF THE MOON SPROUT A WARPING AND TWISTED TREE that acts as the Final Dungeon. I also want to take the parallels that can be observed for the stages of grief and make similar parallels with the seven deadly sins. I have also thought up ideas that incorporate every arrow type from Beta OoT! I was; at first; confused on what to do with Spirit- until it hit me! How else is Spirit manifested but by the electrical impulses that occur inside us and animate us?! I also have a lot of Twilight Princess references, such as Ikana Canyon being the place you interface with the Twili, and the Ooccoo being an ancient presence. Link would be the "dude in distress," obviously, since Majora wants to use his body as the "Fierce Deity" and reintroduce it's influence over Hyrule at large. ..if you can't tell there are a lot of details I can't really fuckin show people until I get off my ass and just try to make it LOL

Hello lads! Sub!Aemond lives rent free in my brain so I have decided to dump some head cannons for my thoughts on it. If you like what you read here, would like me to expand on some thoughts or would like to request an imagine/blurb, then check out my blog!

Also, once you start to praise him regularly he just... stops caring about what anyone else to say about him? He's not trying to impress Allicent or Otto anymore, not at all. As long as you're happy with him, he needs absolutely nothing else.

To expand on what OP said; Noah, sitting in the passenger seat of your car, struggling to reach the lever to push the seat back as you watch him in amusement. Affectionately caressing your hand and arm periodically, just to let you know he remembers you’re there. Just to let you know he loves you.

Him falling asleep on top of you like a big Bernese mountain dog, covering you completely like the world's best weighted blanket. His head on your chest, tucked under your chin as you play with his hair and stroke his back. He's never slept better.

Him loving when you wear his clothes. He likes his shirts and hoodies a little oversized, so on you they're absolutely massive, stopping somewhere between your knee and upper thigh it always looks like a little dress on you. Feeling so snug and comforted, wrapped up in soft fabric that smells just like him. It fills his heart to see you carrying around a piece of him with you willingly like this. And he can’t help but squeeze you in a tight, all-consuming hug, knowing you belong to him, and he absolutely belongs to you.
