The dissociation float hit right after my shift started. So I'm at the register just trying my best to get through the customer interaction script. But time is moving excruciatingly slow which feels unfair bc you'd think being half unaware of what you're doing would make time pass faster but every time I managed to reign myself back into my body only 10 min had passed. It hits the 1.5hr mark and I think 'i'm not gonna fucking make it'. And of course our DM is onsite today again because I swear that man spends like 25% of his time at our store like do you not have a whole district to manage?!? And halfway thru my shift my boss let's me know that the DM has feedback that I need to be more customer service-y. And I kinda want to burn holes in that guy because I'm sorry I'm failing to keep up a bubbly vibe or feign interest in anything other than scanning the items BECAUSE I'M FUCKING DISASSOCIATING RIGHT NOW ASPEN. Also it's Friday which means it's busy so I don't really have room to be chatting people up. Then I think I catch a break bc my boss puts me on online orders but I'm still so out of it that I cannot keep up the way I usually do which is bad bc once again it's Friday and now it's everyone is off of with time so the orders are flowing in. But the point where I'm really done is when I drop a bottle as in trying to deliver orders. I regularly come into this job hungry, sleep deprived, or physical exhausted. Sometimes with more than one of those--also while on my period. And I regularly double fist bottles while filling orders and hold bags precariously and I've been Gucci. But today I managed to knock over a bottle that was already in the delivery station and break it which I have never done before even with other struggles. And breaking bottle certainly didn't help me catch up with orders. And my boss had to keep pointing things out for me because I was so unfocused and frazzled. And that's kinda frustrating because I'm usually very good at getting my shit done. Anyways I just need to throw up that stream of consciousness. I don't dissociate often but when I do I'm like 'oh damn that's right I need therapy'. This one was kinda crazy bc I usually see feel myself slipping into dissociation but this time I looked up and suddenly I was already disassociated

Dr. Ron Boucher, Chief Medical Officer of Teleradiology at Experity – Interview Series
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/dr-ron-boucher-chief-medical-officer-of-teleradiology-at-experity-interview-series/
Dr. Ron Boucher, Chief Medical Officer of Teleradiology at Experity – Interview Series
Dr. Ron Boucher serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Teleradiology at Experity, a software and services company focused on the U.S. urgent care market.
Experity offers an integrated operating system that includes electronic medical records, practice management, patient engagement, billing, teleradiology, business intelligence, and consulting solutions. Nearly half of the urgent care clinics in the U.S. use Experity’s platform. Experity’s teleradiology overread services address the shortage of radiologists by providing clinics with extended support. These services are recognized for their industry-leading turnaround times, 99.97% accuracy, and real-time access to radiologists. The integration of AI into scan reads aims to further enhance both efficiency and accuracy in care delivery.
For readers who are unfamiliar with this term, what is Teleradiology?
Teleradiology is a medical service that enables radiologists to provide clinical interpretation services on X-rays, Ultrasounds, and other diagnostic imaging without needing to be physically present with the patient. In the case of urgent care, the teleradiologist functions as an extension of a clinic, offering faster turnaround times, real-time consultation, and even sharpened accuracy.
With teleradiology, patients receive faster and more precise care, clinic staff save time by receiving timely responses, and clinic providers can confidently rely on diagnoses reviewed by board-certified radiologists. Additionally, clinics that produce a small volume of radiology exams can save a significant amount of money by not having a dedicated radiologist onsite and only pay for the exams performed. This is particularly important whenever a subspecialist radiologist is needed, typically only available at larger institutions and academic centers.
Could you elaborate on the main challenges you’ve encountered with AI integration in teleradiology, and how have you addressed these challenges?
The challenges we’ve faced so far have been primarily clinical, with the largest being a small group of radiologists that are not ready to incorporate AI in their workflows. This is mostly due to clinicians wanting to understand the technology and maintain their independence as providers and utilizing traditional practices. As the technology experts behind the AI integration, we understand that AI is meant to facilitate and improve the standard workflow, not replace the role of radiologists. With the continued advancements being made to AI and other technologies that enable providers to improve their practices, we urge providers to maintain an open mindset toward the tools that can help make their jobs easier and, in tandem, deliver more efficient and better care.
Another challenge is trying to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the fracture detection software with which we have integrated. Once those are identified, the radiologist, as they gain more confidence in the software, can adjust the workflow to improve the overall accuracy and care delivery process. It’s our job at Experity to show and advocate for the true value that AI brings to radiologists’ workflows once those initial adoption challenges are overcome.
Why do you believe that adopting AI in healthcare settings, particularly in radiology, is more beneficial than avoiding it?
Most hesitancy surrounding AI stems from concerns of replacing humans, but in the case of teleradiology, radiologists are still required to interpret results. AI augments the radiologist’s tasks, but board-certified clinicians are still required to oversee the process. Both speed and quality of care are drastically increased with AI’s integration into radiology overread services.
One key advantage of AI in this capacity is the significant improvement in the efficiency and accuracy of imaging interpretation. For instance, our AI software assists radiologists by identifying fractures in adults and pinpointing potential injury locations – both of which are particularly useful in teleradiology where patient histories may be incomplete or when the study is sub-optimally performed or positioned
AI helps reduce the time radiologists spend searching for abnormalities, which leads to a 15-20% increase in speed. This efficiency allows for faster patient care without compromising quality. In fact, the quality of reads with this integration has improved by about 40%, as AI helps prevent missed diagnoses, ensuring more accurate and reliable results. Patient expectations for quality and efficiency will only increase in the future, especially for urgent care, so choosing to embrace AI and maximize the support it offers will help to best meet those needs.
How has AI integration in teleradiology specifically contributed to better patient outcomes?
AI not only increases speed on workflow, but also improves patient care by enhancing the detection and diagnosis of fractures. These fractures might otherwise be missed, so AI is significantly increasing the possibility of better outcomes for patients. Systems that utilize AI can identify additional fractures that radiologists might overlook due to their subtlety or because they occur alongside more obvious injuries. This capability is crucial for comprehensive patient care and seeing the full picture, regardless of medical records being available.
AI in teleradiology has also contributed to faster turnaround times. This speed is particularly beneficial in urgent care settings where quick diagnosis and treatment are essential. Physicians benefit from the rapid availability of accurate diagnostic information, enabling them to treat patients more efficiently and discharge them quicker, thus improving overall patient satisfaction and clinic success.
In what ways has AI technology improved operational efficiencies and accuracy in radiology readings?
Prior to AI, clinics and practices would work to treat and release patients as efficiently as possible, but the quality of care was jeopardized with this rushed approach. Now with a national shortage of radiologists, finding ways to streamline operations while maintaining quality of care is crucial to the success of a practice. By improving turnaround times and maintaining high-quality standards, AI is helping the teleradiology industry thrive by meeting its high demand for quick and precise diagnoses.
Patients will ultimately seek care from those who can deliver a satisfactory balance of quality and efficiency – both innate qualities of urgent care that are only amplified with the use of AI. At Experity, our teleradiology overread services have an industry-leading turnaround time with 99.94% accuracy rates. Our AI technology helps radiologists identify equivocal and obscure abnormalities that otherwise may not be indicated by the patient’s history, exam, or records, expanding the accuracy of reads with an additional component of timeliness.
What do you see as the future role of AI in healthcare and how can healthcare providers prepare for these changes?
When I attended the Radiology Society of North America’s conference this year, AI took up about 30% of the floor space. AI is the direction we’re headed in, and it can impact every aspect of our workflows as radiologists. For those who choose to carry on and ignore AI, many practices will eventually become obsolete. The physicians and practices who choose to embrace technology will be the survivors of the transition. For instance, when teleradiology services became mainstream, this process will be heavily reliant on leveraging advanced technology. Radiologists will need to adapt to the changing landscape of AI integration. AI will not replace radiologists, but instead will enhance their roles as a clinical provider by improving patient care and quality while reading more efficiently and accurately. Radiologists who do not adopt AI in their workflows in some manner will be obsolete.
How do you balance the benefits of AI automation with the need for human oversight in radiological assessments?
Our goal with integrating AI into our teleradiology services is for it to be supplemental and help our urgent care partners deliver the best care possible. AI does not involve emotions or understanding a patient’s history, so those components need to be manually integrated with the history and knowledge provided by a clinician. One Danger of AI is a clinician or patient taking the AI result at face value without the professional insight of a radiologist or clinical expert to ensure the output is accurate and verified.
Mistakes can happen, which is why maintaining human oversight is essential for the solution’s integration. The algorithm can mark false negatives or positives, but its ability to point out areas of interest in the Radiology exam reduces the human error rates more effectively and outweighs reading exams without AI involved.
Can you discuss any regulatory hurdles related to the use of AI in healthcare and how Experity is navigating these?
I’m very optimistic about AI and the role it will play in Radiology. However, it will take time to understand the legal implications. Regulations surrounding AI are going to drastically change over the next few years, and this drives meaningful resistance among radiologists. If an AI product identifies an abnormality and the physician disagrees with it, how does it impact a lawsuit if something were to go wrong in the care delivery process?
Without regulations, the default leads to tort law, which is not optimal to ensure patient safety. Physicians are ultimately responsible for the diagnosis and image reporting. There are not any set legal ramifications currently, which can lead to uncertainty from both patients and providers as cases occur. Radiologists are the licensed physicians delivering care to patients, so there are gray areas that need to be explored and addressed as AI becomes more prominent across the industry.
Can you discuss how AI in teleradiology has impacted access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved or rural areas?
As I previously mentioned, the specialty of Radiology is an area of healthcare that is feeling more severe effects of the national physician labor shortages. Teleradiology alone provides new opportunities for patients to receive care in rural areas with a lack of medical resources and care available. Partnering with a third party to provide the professional imaging interpretation process vastly expands a clinic’s capabilities and increases the type and quality of care they deliver. It brings subspecialty care to their patients.
With AI being integrated into these more rural practices, the quality and efficiency of care can be prioritized more and even standardized to the care a patient would receive in a more urban setting. Not only is the care available more extensive, but the accuracy and efficiency can also be improved.
Thank you for the great interview, readers who wish to learn more should visit Experity.

Where to Place a Commercial Air Conditioner?
Installing an air conditioner unit just as close to the window works best for a business building. But some of you might argue that high walls are a much greater place to make the most cooling environment. How about the northeast side of the wall? Questions like these frequently pop up on our minds when it is finally the time to install a brand new air conditioner for your business.
However, choosing the right location is not a personal choice. It combines accessibility, safety, and efficiency to make the space comfortable and cool. While you don’t have the right guidance, considering an air conditioning service in Newcastle is the key.
In this blog, we will look at each of the factors that professionals consider to locate your commercial AC unit for best performance.
7 Factors to Consider When Choosing the Location for Commercial AC Installation
Here are a few factors that professionals consider before choosing the right place for air conditioner installation.
Accessibility for Maintenance:
Professionals always make sure that the location of the AC unit is easy to reach. This allows you or their team to service or maintain the unit for any future problems.
Having said that, air conditioners require periodic servicing like filter changes, cleaning, and inspection. If a technician giving air conditioning service in Newcastle can access the unit easily, this will not interfere with your business activities and will reduce the maintenance costs as well.
When installing indoor units, professionals ensure to place AC close to electrical connections, drainage systems, and filters. And while installing outdoor units, they place the unit on roofs, ground-level areas, or utility spaces.
Airflow and Ventilation:
Next, AC installers choose a location that allows proper airflow and ventilation. When installing an indoor component, technicians scan the area for any wall, ceiling, or other objects that can impact the cool air from flowing around freely.
Placing an indoor unit free from any obstruction allows the AC to work smoothly and without consuming more energy. Similarly, professionals from Onsite air conditioning service in Newcastle check the outdoor ventilation to allow the heat to pass away easily. For this reason, they avoid placing the outdoor units in hidden areas or next to large structures.
Noise Reduction:
While premium brands will feature noise-free air conditioning systems, you cannot always guarantee the units to be completely noise-free. That is why, placing the air conditioner in locations that will not impact important business undertakings is quite crucial.
In corporate settings, professionals fit indoor systems in halls, storage rooms, and other areas where important business discussions are less likely to occur.
And if the conference rooms or lounge areas need an air conditioner, technicians either place them away from the head of the table or seating arrangements or use ducted air conditioners.
Local Building and Environmental Compliance:
Adhering to local building codes and environment regulations are another aspect that goes into choosing the right place for commercial AC installation. Onsite air conditioning service in Newcastle has a team of professionals who will place the indoor system in a sufficient distance from the other electrical systems.
As this can cause fire or other damage, safe distance from other infrastructure also allows air conditioners to run efficiently. Similarly, when installing an outdoor system, they obey the zoning laws and noise-free parameters to avoid any legal problems.
Available Space and Building Layout:
Professionals consider the available space and the building layout to find the right location. For example, when installing indoor AC units, they consider the room’s layouts, windows, and height, and open spaces to allow cool air to spread across every corner of the room.
If it is a multi-storey building, they can locate every system to balance the cooling load. It is best to choose a company like Onsite air conditioning service in Newcastle who also considers strategic outdoor unit locations for keeping the AC performance at its best.
Structural Support:
Professionals look for the weight of the structure which bears the weight of the AC unit to make the final decision. An AC with a good structural support runs without any system failure or damage. This is especially useful for outdoor units as they contain fans and condensers which together makes the whole unit heavy.
For outdoor locations, professionals consider the level of the concrete or wall to be stable. In some cases, it is a good idea to use wall brackets to mount an outdoor component as long as they are secure and strong.
Aesthetics:
Last but not the least, aesthetics are important too. Professionals take care of interior decor at its best and use ceiling gaps or false walls to blend aesthetics into the installation process.
Final Words
We hope you found the blog useful. Clearly, choosing the right location for installing a commercial air conditioner requires quite a comprehensive understanding of the layout. This includes areas which are easily accessible, safe, promotes airflow, comply with local building codes, keeps harsh weather away, supports the structure, and maintains the aesthetics in the best way possible.
Understanding every little aspect and detail that goes into installing an air conditioner for commercial space properly requires professional service.

Understanding LiDAR Technology in Scan to BIM
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology has become an essential tool for Scan to BIM services due to the construction industry's demand for accurate and effective data collection.
LiDAR accurately depicts the built environment by measuring distances and constructing highly realistic three-dimensional (3D) reconstructions of existing structures using laser pulses.
The article will go into depth on LiDAR technology, its usage in Scan to BIM, and how it is transforming the way we approach building documentation and design.
What is LiDAR
Light detection and ranging, or LiDAR for short, is a remote sensing technique that measures distances to Earth using light in the form of a pulsed laser.
These light pulses provide exact, three-dimensional information on the Earth's structure and surface properties when paired with other data captured by the aerial system.
Here's a breakdown of how LiDAR works:
Laser Pulse Emission: Rapid laser pulses are emitted by LiDAR systems, and these pulses bounce off surfaces and objects in their path. The duration of time it takes for each pulse to return after reflecting off the surface is recorded by the system.
Distance Measurement: LiDAR determines the distance to each point it encounters by timing the return of light to the sensor. We call this procedure "time-of-flight measurement."
Point Cloud Creation: A "point cloud," or a collection of data points that represent the scanned region, is created using the distance information gathered from many laser pulses. X, Y, and Z are the three-dimensional coordinates for every point in the cloud.
Penetration Capabilities: One of LiDAR's specialties is its ability to see through obstacles such as dust, vegetation, and fog. This makes it very adaptable to various locations by enabling it to record data in a range of weather situations and coverages.
High Accuracy and Detail: LiDAR is renowned for its high level of accuracy and detail. It can capture fine details over large areas, providing a precise digital map of features that might be missed by other surveying methods.
Learn how 3D laser scanning improves project accuracy and saves money in construction. For more insights, read the full article here.
Applications of LiDAR in Scan to BIM
The combination of LiDAR technology with Scan to BIM methods opens up a wide variety of possibilities in the AEC sector. This formidable combination excels in the following important areas:
As-Built Documentation
In Scan to BIM, one of the most important uses of LiDAR is the creation of very precise as-built documentation. LiDAR scans are utilized to precisely create BIM models by capturing existing structures, including their complex features.
This visual depiction of a structure's or infrastructure's current condition is very helpful for projects including facility management, refurbishment, and restoration. Architects, engineers, and facility managers may confidently plan their projects and make well-informed choices when they have access to an exact digital twin.
Clash Detection and Coordination
When determining any conflicts or interferences between new and existing structures, LiDAR data is essential. Early in the design process, conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems may be found by merging LiDAR scans with BIM models.
By being proactive, this method improves coordination amongst many professions and lowers the possibility of expensive onsite mistakes and delays. LiDAR reduces unforeseen problems during construction, which facilitates more efficient project management.
Topographical Surveys
Topographical surveys are a specialty of LiDAR, which provides accurate terrain data for infrastructure projects, urban planning, and landscape design. Engineers and designers may use LiDAR to record current ground characteristics, such as vegetation, elevations, and contours, to help them make well-informed choices. Grading, drainage design, and making sure that new projects blend in with the surroundings all depend on this data.
Historical Preservation and Renovation
A non-invasive technique for obtaining the minute details of old buildings and structures is LiDAR scanning. By using this technology, the heritage of these locations is preserved for future generations in the form of a digital archive.
LiDAR data helps to create a smooth transition between new designs and the distinctive features of the current building when it comes to renovation projects. By using this application, historical structures are guaranteed to be repaired appropriately and to retain their cultural relevance.
Find out how combining 3D scanning with BIM makes renovation projects more efficient. Learn more by reading here.
Quantity Take-offs and Cost Estimation
LiDAR data's comprehensive nature simplifies quantity take-offs and offers precise measurements for cost and material calculations.
LiDAR lowers the possibility of cost overruns and allows more effective budgeting by producing accurate as-built models. By improving the entire financial management of building projects, this tool helps decision-makers make more informed choices.
Benefits of LiDAR in Scan to BIM
The AEC sector benefits greatly from the incorporation of LiDAR into Scan to BIM operations. The following main advantages demonstrate the importance of this technology:
Accuracy and Precision: LiDAR's extremely detailed point clouds guarantee that the measurements used to create BIM models are accurate and precise. This precision lowers the possibility of mistakes, cuts down on expensive rework, and improves the general caliber of building projects.
Efficiency and Speed: Quick laser scanning enables speedier site evaluations, which shortens project schedules. Additionally, simpler processes and quicker project completion are facilitated by the effectiveness of LiDAR data processing and the capacity to produce BIM models rapidly.
Increased Safety: By minimizing the need for workers to enter dangerous regions, LiDAR scanning increases the safety of construction sites. Accident risk may be reduced by doing scans remotely. Furthermore, before personnel are deployed, LiDAR data may detect possible safety dangers like structural problems or invisible obstacles, allowing for improved safety procedures and on-site risk management.
Enhanced Coordination and Collaboration: LiDAR scans reduce conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems by facilitating early collision identification by giving a complete digital image of the current site.
Flexibility and Richness of Data: LiDAR produces extremely dense point clouds that provide a plethora of information that may be used to a variety of tasks beyond original planning. This extensive dataset enables comprehensive research, including building management, daylighting studies, and energy efficiency evaluations.
Wrapping UP

Choosing the Right Security Gate
If you’re in charge of keeping a commercial property secure, you know the value of high-quality commercial fencing and security gates. Whether yours is a highly secure facility with exterior and interior perimeter fencing and several levels of access control or you need a new automated security gate at an assisted living facility, you have more options than ever before.
Types of Commercial Security Gates
There are a variety of different commercial security gate styles to choose from. Most security gates are made of chain link, steel, or ornamental iron. Which style is right for your commercial property depends on who you want to let in and who you want to keep out.
For example, maybe you need a wider gate at a security checkpoint to give access to cleared employees and delivery vans. Or you just need pedestrian gates/turnstiles to let visitors into your amusement park.
The most common types of commercial security gates include:
Slide Gates
Swing Gates
Pivot Gates
Vertical Lift Gates
Pedestrian Gates
Slide Gates
Slide gates move left or right along a track that’s aligned with the perimeter fence. This type of gate is good for areas where clearance for a swing gate might be an issue. A slide gate is best suited for a flat area such as a driveway or parking lot entrance. The track of a slide gate must be kept free of debris, snow, and ice to work effectively.
Swing Gates
Single or double swing gates can open inward or outward, and extend to 90 degrees. They require a fair amount of clearance, and you should paint lines to indicate where vehicles should wait while the gate opens.
Vertical Pivot Gates
Vertical pivot gates are good for areas where there is not a lot of clearance that would allow a swing gate. The gate pivots open upward and holds until a vehicle passes through, and then it pivots back down. They can be a good option if you don’t want to clear snow around a slide gate track.
Vertical Lift Gates
Vertical lift gates are another option when you don’t have the clearance needed for a swing gate or slide gate installation. Using hydraulics, the gate slides up and down vertical lift gate tracks. These gates are suitable on rough terrain.
Pedestrian Gates
Pedestrian gates, also known as turnstiles, limit the flow of pedestrians into your property to one at a time. This can help you keep track of how many people visit your place of business on a given day. It also allows gate employees to scan for the crowd for security issues, provide wristbands, etc.
Access Control
For an added level of security, most commercial security gates can be installed with an access control system of your choice. You might want a gate attendant to buzz people in. But you could also use the following access control methods to control access to your property:
Ticket machines (for parking garages)
Keypads
Card readers
Vehicle RFID tags
ANPR
Fingerprint readers
Which method of access control you choose will depend on the level of security you need.
