Understanding Deductibles in Car Insurance: How They Work and Why They Matter?
Tumblr media
When it comes to purchasing car insurance, many people focus on choosing the right coverage and finding the best car insurance prices. But there’s another critical aspect of your car insurance policy you should understand: the deductible. Deductibles are an essential part of any motor insurance plan and can significantly impact your overall car insurance price. Let’s dive into what deductibles are, how they work, and why they matter when buying car insurance online or through traditional methods.
What Is a Deductible in Car Insurance?
In the simplest terms, a deductible is the amount you, the policyholder, agree to pay out of pocket before your insurance coverage kicks in. For example, if your deductible is â‚č5,000 and you file a claim for â‚č20,000, you’ll cover the first â‚č5,000, and your car insurance company will pay the remaining â‚č15,000.
Deductibles apply to various types of coverage under your car insurance policy, such as collision, comprehensive, and in some cases, even third party insurance. The specific amount of the deductible is often customizable, allowing you to choose a deductible level that aligns with your budget and risk tolerance.
Types of Deductibles in Car Insurance
Compulsory Deductible: This deductible is mandated by the car insurance company and is typically based on the engine capacity of your vehicle. It’s a fixed amount that you cannot change, and it’s mandatory to pay this deductible in case of a claim.
Voluntary Deductible: A voluntary deductible is an additional amount you choose to pay on top of the compulsory deductible. Opting for a higher voluntary deductible usually results in a lower car insurance price, making this a good choice for those looking to lower their premiums.
When you’re searching for new car insurance, understanding the difference between these deductibles can help you make a more informed choice about which policy fits your needs.
How Do Deductibles Affect Car Insurance Premiums?
One of the most significant ways deductibles impact your car policy is by influencing your premium. Here’s how it works:
Higher Deductible, Lower Premium: If you choose a high deductible, you’re agreeing to pay more out of pocket in case of an accident. As a result, your car insurance company may offer you a lower premium, reducing your overall car insurance price.
Lower Deductible, Higher Premium: Conversely, if you choose a low deductible, the insurer takes on more risk, leading to a higher premium. This can be beneficial if you want to limit out-of-pocket expenses when filing a claim.
This flexibility is valuable when purchasing car insurance online, as you can adjust your deductible to see how it impacts your premium.
Why Deductibles Matter in Car Insurance
Deductibles play a key role in your car insurance policy for several reasons:
Financial Control Over Premiums Choosing a higher deductible can help you secure the best car insurance rates by lowering your monthly premium. For example, if you rarely file claims and have a good driving record, opting for a high deductible can lead to significant savings.
Increased Responsibility and Caution With a higher deductible, you might be more cautious on the road, knowing that a claim could lead to a substantial out-of-pocket cost. This can lead to safer driving habits and fewer minor claims, which may benefit your insurance record in the long run.
Managing Smaller Repairs Independently Many minor repairs, like minor scratches or dents, may not exceed the deductible amount. This means you might handle these costs on your own without filing a claim. By doing so, you protect your No-Claim Bonus (NCB) and avoid premium increases on your next car policy renewal.
These benefits make deductibles a crucial consideration for anyone looking to manage their car insurance price effectively.
Choosing the Right Deductible for Your Needs
Selecting the appropriate deductible amount depends on several factors, including your budget, driving habits, and the value of your vehicle. Here’s a quick guide to help you decide:
Budget-Friendly Approach: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, a higher voluntary deductible can lower your premium. This might work well if you’re a safe driver who rarely files claims.
Low Out-of-Pocket Expenses: If you prefer low out-of-pocket expenses, a lower deductible may be better, even if it means paying a slightly higher premium. This option is ideal for those who prefer to avoid large expenses in case of an accident.
Consider Your Car’s Age and Condition: For newer cars, it may be worth choosing a low deductible to ensure that repairs are affordable in the event of an accident. For older vehicles, a high deductible can save on premiums, especially if the car’s resale value is low.
When purchasing car insurance online, it’s easy to adjust your deductible preferences to see how different options affect the cost. This allows you to make the best decision based on your financial needs and risk tolerance.
The Role of Deductibles in Third Party Insurance
It’s important to note that deductibles generally apply to own-damage and comprehensive coverage. However, in third party insurance, the deductible might not be as relevant since this coverage mainly addresses damages or injuries to others. Still, understanding deductibles is crucial if you’re considering comprehensive motor insurance that covers both own-damage and third-party liabilities.
Final Thoughts
Understanding deductibles is key to making informed choices about your car insurance policy. By selecting a deductible that aligns with your budget and driving habits, you can control your car insurance price and potentially save on premiums. Whether you’re choosing new car insurance or looking to renew your existing car policy, evaluating your deductible options will help you get the best value for your money.
So, the next time you’re comparing policies from different car insurance companies, take a closer look at the deductible options available. With the right balance between premium and deductible, you can enjoy peace of mind and financial protection on the road.

explosive - hazel callahan
Tumblr media
pairing: hazel callahan x forfem!cheerleader!reader
warning(s): no warnings, actually! it’s just really fluffy <3 swearing, tho!
tropes: fluff, friends to lovers, sort of canon compliant, first kiss
summary: hazel’s had a crush on you forever. and it really comes to a boiling point when you and the girls go to tp and egg jeff's house. and when she, y'know, set offs a bomb.
a/n: was hazel knowing how to make a bomb hot

.. or was that just me?
word count: 1,144 words / 6,176 characters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
hazel was watching you from afar; her eyes trailing up and down your figure. your cute, graphic tee to your lazy comfy sweatpants; which, she only knew your wore when you wanted to get messy. since, you only ever wore them during your art class.
“hazel, your fucking staring her down,” pj glared at the girl beside her. “you're such a stalker.”
“I— i am not!” hazel hissed back, “I’m
 gonna go work on that bomb now.”
meanwhile, you were sort of watching her too. the way her eyes creased together into somewhat of an angry look; but you didn’t think you'd ever seen hazel callahan truly angry.
that was besides the point.
you thought she was adorable, to which, she was.
and those thoughts were now dragging you toward jeff's car, where hazel was slipped under. her marked up convers were hanging out from the top of the car.
“hey, hazel.”
the car almost jerked up, and you heard a “fuck” from under the car. you couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight, though you did wonder if she was okay.
“you okay, hazel? I didn’t mean to spook you. probably should have thought about that before I came up on someone under a car, huh?” you chuckle in response.
“I-it’s fine,” she says from under the car, her voice choked up. she was nervous, and her face was best red—glad that it was hidden under the body of the car.
“you sure?” you cock your head, bending down to be sat on your knees. “that sounded kinda painful.”
hazel hums a little, “mm-hm!” in a response. she slides out from under the car for a moment. she wanted to see your beautiful face, even if hers was currently covered in soot and ash.
and even if it was beat red.
than a loud, shrill beep sounded from under the car.
“um, hazel, is that something we should be concerned about——“
out of instinct, she grasps your hand tight. she pulls herself to her feet, as well as you, and begins to charge for their “getaway” car. she slides into the backseat, pulling you in beside her.
after a few seconds, you feel her hand still clasped around yours. It made your heart beat a million miles a minute, her rough, coarse hands rubbing against yours. In comparison, yours were small and soft. holding a hand like hazel's felt
 nice.
a few moments later, you feel those same hands covering your ears, pulling your head close to the crook of her neck. instead of covering her own ears, she covered yours, as if you didn’t have the hands to do so.
she was so cute. so thoughtful
you two were, as of now, in the car alone. despite the damn bomb going off; the girls still hadn’t hopped back in the car, hadn’t driven away.
that left you alone with a hot girl you had a crush on.
and you were pretty sure she liked you, too.
“so,” you gently nudge your knee against hazel’s. “how the hell do you know how to make a bomb?” you scoff, glancing at her with a playful expression.
“Its
 not that hard,” she laughs, looking bashful as ever. “not like I’m some child genius.”
“still impressive,” you nudge your knee against her's again, causing her to look up at you, “learn that in robotics, or somethin’?”
she shrugs, “um, the mechanics of the it, sure,” hazel clears her throat. “rest online
”
“it’s.. it’s. yeah, it’s cool.” you smile softly. you gaze at her, maybe for a moment too long, your eyes locked together. “hazel
 I
 um—“
your words are cut off.
the rest of the girls slide into the car.
two more slide into the back, isabel and brittany. they pressed the two girls closer together, your thigh pressed gently against hazel’s. it made you blush, sure, but—it felt good. It felt
 right.
you and hazel glance at each other, laughing softly. it’s a knowing laugh. you know what you were going to say; and you hoped you'd get the chance to finish it later. It was hazel's car that they were driving in, after all. they'd have to drop isabel and brittany off, drop pj off, let josie drive herself home than—
—it would be just you two.
twenty minutes of driving later and it’s just the two of you. you’ve moved into the drivers and passengers seat, the only sound between you two for a moment is the sound of the heater in hazel’s car rumbling to keep you warm in the cold weather.
“.. I have a feeling you knew what I was gonna say.. don’t you?” you chuckle, your cheeks bright red as you gaze out the windshield in front of you.
“.. I-I could guess,” hazel murmurs, her fingers tapping against the leather steering wheel. “because I kind wanted to say it, too.”
you pause. you had a feeling that it was reciprocated, but god to hear it out loud
“well, than..” you whisper, “good to know.”
hazel chuckles, “yeah.. that’s pretty good to know.”
you laugh right back, realizing how stupid your words actually sounded.
you grab your purse as the car comes to a stop outside your large house. you open the passengers door, stepping outside the car.
and, unsurprisingly, hazel has followed you.
“so,” your eyes trail up her body, landing on her beautiful blue eyes. “could I say it’s pretty evident that i’d really like to kiss you right now?”
“you.. could say that.” hazel murmured, resting a hand on your cheek. she began to lean down, considering your height difference. her lips where inches from yours. “can I—“
before she gets to finish her question, you gently press your lips against hers. they’re warm; and taste almost like a hint of vanilla lipgloss.
It was good. It was all so good. It felt like your insides were exploding, from the idea. your stomach squirming, your hands twitching on the back of hazel’s neck—which, you were sure she could feel.
when you pulled back, you took in a little gasp of air.
“a date, than?” you prompt, smiling. “how does tomorrow sound?”
“tomorrow?” her eyes light up at the thought. she didn’t think you’d wanna go on a date with her that soon. “sounds perfect. I—I’ll come and pick you up?”
“amazing,” you nod your head, giving her a smile and a wave over your shoulder as you walk toward your house.
she watched as you slipped inside, leaning against her car with her arms folded. the idea that such an amazing girl would like
 her? the loser masc lesbian is who nobody talked to?
the idea was foreign to her.
yet here you were, kissing her and asking her on a date.
it was all so
 amazing, to her.
she couldn’t wait. not one second.
In a weeks time is the charity gala event that's held every year for heroes and if someone doesn't go it certainly looks bad on them. If they're not on patrol or wrapped up in hero work they should be there, especially if they're big names or retired big names. You may not be the number one hero but you're noticeable and you're a big enough name to make it a problem if you didn't turn up which is not the best for you. Every year is the same, spending hours picking and trying on outfits only to wear once, a smile plastered on your face all night that makes your cheeks hurt when you get home, heels so high you feel as tall as Mt Lady and this year is the same problem.
Denki already has a car hired to take you both to the event in case either of you want to drink and because he knows you walking so far in heels would likely be a disaster.
You've been fretting for days now about the gala, you still haven't brought a dress for the night and shopping for clothes really does not bode well for your self esteem. You prefer buying clothes online so you don't have to go to stores and try clothes on but sizes on websites can sometimes be wrong and they look different than advertised.
You know you shouldn't compare yourself to your friends and your colleagues but you can't help stop yourself, they spend so much money and time getting ready in comparison to you it makes you stand out when you think you don't look as good as them or you don't spend hours doing your hair. You care about your appearance at these events but they make your esteem plummet, you always think your friends look better than you, dress better than you and look more desirable than you.
Now you don't want to people to get the wrong idea, you don't really care about desirability, actually you care very little about it but it might make Denki do a double take for once, maybe he might even do a double take and make a flirtatious comment. That's the kind of desirability you want. You don't wish to become on a list of the hottest bachelorette pro heroes, if anything you want to only be considered 'hot' to a few people but to the rest of the world you want to be called something different, something other than desirable. You want to be called a pro hero who's amazing at her job, especially in away missions, a pro hero that if you hear a commotion and see a crime taking place down the road you spring right into action even if you're not on duty. Just referring to you as desirable would be a disservice.
But for some reason, with this gala, you agreed to let Mina help find you a dress and you're already regretting it as she calls you after she's finished work asking if you're ready to go shopping. You had no idea she wanted to go today and you were so close to cancelling. You couldn't help it, it's like being thrown into the deep end but not only can you not swim but you're also allergic to the water. Having no time to prepare to get in the right mindset to go shopping definitely put you on edge but you agree all the same knowing that you've got to get it over and done with and Mina might not accept the decision of you cancelling and drag you out anyway.
"Hey! Ready to go shopping?" Mina calls as she see's you.
"Not particularly."
She laughs at your reply, "that's my girl. Lets go! I have a couple styles in mind."
Mina's already brought what she's going to wear, she brought it months ago but when you asked for help she dropped every plan that she could possibly cancel to help you. You've never asked her or anyone else, for that matter, to help you shop for clothes before so she couldn't help but be excited at the prospect of helping you choose something amazing.
She has a plan in mind, something you're comfortable in, she loves you and she wants you to feel comfortable but she also wants you to feel confident. Luckily Mina still gives you some control of the situation, letting you decide the store. There's only a few shops around that cater to your size so you visit the one you like most.
Two hours later you're still in the dressing room, surrounded by expensive clothes that are mostly in black, because 'everyone looks good in black', as Mina keeps passing you new ones to try. You reluctantly stay until you find one. You like it, in fact you love it but if you said that out loud you might change your mind about it. It's slightly more fitted than the ones you typically go for and it shows slightly more skin. It's out of your comfort zone for sure and something you'd definitely not pick to wear without Mina but you're glad she came along.
Tonight's the night of the gala and Denki's waiting in the living room for you and he's so very close to knocking on your door to see if you're nearly ready but he knows that would not be a good idea, you'd be sour all night and would stay away from him so he waits as patiently as he can.
When you come out the room he's so very glad he didn't rush you. The dress you're wearing is different to what he's used to and what he expected you to wear. Seeing Denki's reaction but not recognising his look on his face you assume the worse and pull your dress down as low as you can. After seeing this Denki rushes out to reassure you, "you look lovely 'doll. You ready to go?" It's rare that Denki compliments specifically your appearance or outfits. Fiddling with your fingers and shifting from side to side you answer, "Thank you, Denks. You look lovely too. I'm ready, are you?"
Denki really does look nice. He's wearing a black notch lapel suit meaning the suit has a triangular shape V because of the sewing of the lapels into the collar of the jacket. He's not wearing a tie but he's wearing cufflinks, if you look close enough you can see that they're the ones you brought him when you all left UA, they're silver circles with a yellow lightning bolt on them.
He holds out his arm for you to take and with a cheeky smile on his face asks, "ready mademoiselle?"
Accepting his arm, "ready monsieur."
Arriving at the gala gives you other reasons why you dreaded it. This year there are more camera's outside than normal and you wonder why. It makes you anxious, you're use to the camera's you just don't like them. Denki places his hand on the small of your back and falls in step beside you, in doing so calming you down and giving you security. You dreaded the noise and how busy it was. You started scouting the hall, looking out for any of your friends, maybe even catch up with your old classmates.
"I found people, let's go." Still holding onto the small of your back he guides you through the crowd. You were already on edge with the surroundings and all those cameras but then your mood drops as you spotted where he was taking you both, right to Jirou. There was more than just Jirou there, but you knew that's why he's going over, not because Hanta's and Ejirou's over there, both of you see them all the time, and it's not because Yaomomo or Katsuki and Ochaco are over there either, it's for Jirou. He complimented you at the beginning of the night and your stomach fluttered with butterflies but now you'll have to watch him flirt all night with someone else, someone who neither of you have seen in so long so it's awful to think about how much he'll be talking to her and about her in the following weeks.
"Heyo," Hanta calls when he see's you, making you grin wide as he holds his hand up for you to high five.
You perk up at his anticts at high five him back, "Heyo."
There's a collection of greetings from everyone. Momo complimenting your dress and you saying back that Mina helped you, Uraraka saying she missed you as you hug her.
Bakugou saying he didn't he sees you all the fucking time, causing you to smack him lightly on the back of his head while grinning. "Don't be like that that Katsuki." He scowls at you and makes a dismissive sound before calling you a dumbass.
Denki exchanges pleasantries with everyone, you were too wrapped up in your conversation with Kiri and Hanta to even notice that he hadn't flirted or made any kind of comment towards Jirou at all.
"You look beautiful," Kiri says earnestly making your heart warm.
"Yes, you look very hot. I'm liking the dress." Hanta adds on.
You chuckle, "thank you Kiri and when did you become such a creep Han."
"I'm simply making an observation," Hanta replies causing you to try, and fail, at controlling your laughing volume sounding a lot louder than you intended to be.
Hanta looks good too, all your friends do.
Bakugou's wearing his hero costume colours in a suit, his hair slightly more tamed and he has pencilled eyeliner on his lash line like his mask, you'd put money that his publicist from the agency made him wear it all.
Most of your friends have gone with their hero costume colours with Ochaco wearing an all pink flowy dress that goes down to her ankles, Kiri wearing a suit similar to the one he wore at I-Expo, Momo a red fitted dress and Jirou wearing a longer dress catered to her aesthetic, but Hanta, well Hanta looked really good.
Hanta was wearing a cool dark grey tone unstructured blazer his dress shirt had the first button undone. How someone can look this good but keep it simple, classy and somewhat casual in formal wear is beyond you.
Denki watches you make conversation with Hanta and his jaw clenches as he wonders why you're talking to him when there's people you haven't seen in months or close to a year, yet you're choosing to talk to Sero who you saw earlier this week. Is this why you're wearing that dress? For him?
Denki wants your attention, wants you to focus your attention back on him. "I'm going to get us drinks. Do you want to come?"
You were about to decline but you feel him hold your wrist loosely in his hand and you look and see an expression on your face that you know too well, it's the look that he gives you when he wants you to agree with something so desperately. His 'puppy dog eyes' look. You don't speak for a second, all the background noise fades away as you try and understand why he wants you to come with him so bad and that's when you connect that he's standing next to Jirou and something might have happened or someone might have said something insensitive to him.
He pulls your hand a bit and lowers his voice, "please."
"Of course Denki," you nod. "I'll follow you anywhere," you tell him softly and honestly. Your heart starts racing as you realised what you said. You've said stuff like this to him before and you always mean it truthfully, you'll follow him anywhere. You'd follow him to the end of the world and knowing your luck it could happen. He can be so oblivious, like with how you truly feel towards him that he might not even notice he was at the end of the world until you pointed it out to him. You hope that Denki can't feel your pulse racing while he's holding onto you.
He doesn't notice, he's too relieved that you agreed to go with him, that you chose to go with him instead of staying with everyone else, instead of staying with Sero. "We're going to get drinks, we'll see you guys later." Before you can say your goodbyes he's gently but firmly pulling you to the bar. You want to make a joke about his haste to get away from the conversations everyone's having but you don't know if that would be appropriate with whatever he's feeling right now and with whatever happened.
He drags you to one of the stools and orders your favourite drink. "Are you okay Denki?"
"Just peachy," he didn't mean it to sound sarcastic, he didn't mean it to come out at all. He wanted to tell you that he's fine, to assure you that with you next to him he's having a good night but he's vexed and frustrated.
"Did...Did something happen Denks? With Jirou? Or... Um something else?" You wearily question.
He turns his head around to face you so quickly it's a wonder how he didn't get whiplash. "Why would something happen with Jirou?" He looks quizzically at you, having no idea why you're bringing her up.
You became equally confused as you see his expression. "I thought maybe something happened and you wanted to get away from her." You take a sip of your drink, using it as an excuse to look away from him.
"Nothing happened with Jirou or anyone. I just wanted to spend time with you," he says while running his hand through his hair, you look up just in time to see him and cuss him out in your head for looking so attractive.
If you were anyone else you would have asked him further questions but you're use to this by now, his confusing statements that always leave you wondering why he wants something. If you were anyone else you would have wondered why he didn't want to spend time with any of the others or spend time with Jirou, the girl he's mad about. Instead he wants to spend his time with you when he see's you every single day but by this point you're use to it. When he says random things and constantly wants your attention, really living up to the 'puppy dog eyes.'
"Let's live together."
"Are you sure you want to live with me Denki. I mean we've got enough money to buy our own places." he convinced you that living together would be the best decision you would ever make, it was.
You were tidying up the house one day when Denki came up behind you scaring you. "Come shopping with me." you put your hands on your hips and turn to face him.
"Now why on earth would I do that Denks, it's your turn to go shopping."
"It's no fun without you though." you agree but grumble about how it's his turn and you're going to both go together next time. he happily agrees like that was part of his plan all along.
you hear clutter in the living room as Denki's searching for all the takeout menu's. "let's order in tonight."
"I've got a date remember.
"Yeah I do but he's ugly and I'm better. Pizza?"
When you and Denki went to watch a film at the cinema, you run into Eijirou and you stopped to talk for awhile, arranging to all hang out later tonight as you were all free. Denki flicks your hand. "pay attention to me."
Denki casually tells you, "if we're not married by the time we're 40 we should get married," causing you to spit out your tea. "Two pros getting married will boost both our ratings up like crazy, the look on our parents faces when we tell it's a publicity stunt though will be interesting, pretty sure my parents like you better than they like me. Mina and Kirishima are planning to do the same thing."
"Bold of you to assume i'm going to make it 40." You chuckle.
You don't see the angry look on his face as replies, "you better."
You giggle, "you just can't live without someone paying attention to you every hour of every day." In a normal setting your heart would be bursting out of your chest but you knew he didn't mean what he said, it surprised you but after you got over the initial shock it was fine. He's just been listening to Kirishima too much. Plus both of your ratings are good enough as it is and there is already speculation of you both together.
"You'll stay with me right?" Denki takes a sip of his drink and looks hopeful at you.
"All night." You respond before stealing his drink and tasting it, scrunching your nose in disgust, "Denks, this is gross."
You stay together alone for the majority of the night at the bar before you decide it's probably in both your best interests to mingle. The whole time Denki stays attached to you, staying by your side.
It's now getting late and you start wondering if it would be appropriate for you to take your leave. The gala hasn't ended but it could be on all night for all you know. You've seen some heroes leave but Denki's next to you smirking at a joke Mic said and you have a feeling this is going to be a long night.
You're trying to keep up with everyone, with Denki, but it's hard with your social battery draining. You excuse yourself from the conversation to go to the bathroom, although it's just an excuse for you to take a deep breath and be away from all the noise and chatter.
After a couple minutes you head back out of the bathroom and go out to find Denki when you hear Hanta calling your name. Before you can comprehend what you're doing your legs walk and you go to Hanta. He's standing on his own which is surprising, due to the charismatic and social butterfly he is.
"You look tired."
"Gee, thanks Hanta. Did you call me over just to say that?"
"Oh snappy aren't you? I didn't mean it as a bad thing, I promise. I'm just surprised you're still here that's all."
"Well I'm surprised you're here alone." You reply, you know you're being short with him but you're just so drained and it feels like he's teasing you.
He doesn't take any offence to your tone and short replies.
"Actually I was with Midoriya but I left when I saw you to come talk to you."
"Oh." you mumble.
"You look super drained, why haven't you gone home yet?" He questions gently as to try and let you know he's coming from a place of caring and he's not teasing you.
"Denki's having fun." You nod your head to where he is, where he's animatedly telling a story to Hawks.
"Hmmm, do you want me to take you home." Sero leans closer to you. He's so tuned in on your feelings and your needs, he always just knows.
You look up to see him softly smiling at you, "you look really nice tonight Hanta."
He chuckles and pulls you closer so you're leaning against him. "Thank you pretty girl, but that's not what i asked is it?" he strokes your knuckles with his thumb as he mumbles under his breath about how you're too tired.
"You really would take me home Han? You're having a good time though." you ask quietly, not sure if you want to go home but if you were more awake and socially aware you'd be calling Hanta your saviour right now for the offer.
"You're more important. If you want me to take you home I will."
Neither of you are aware but you're being watched, if Denki saw you he'd come marching up and drag you away but he's so invested in the conversation he's having that he doesn't know where you are. The people who do see however are Katsuki, Mina and Kiri and that's not the best people to see because right now Mina is jumping to every possible conclusion.
Mina may be the worst person to see this innocent act other than Denki but at the same time Kirishima is hardly any better as he's thinking about every interaction he's seen you two have together and every word you've spoken about each other. Katsuki is the one telling Mina to 'leave it alone', 'it's not a big deal', 'it's probably nothing' and to 'forget about it'. He makes a quick glance around the room trying to spot Kaminari. He knew you and Sero were close but not this close. He thought that you and Kaminari have been dating for years and have been lying to everyone who asks about it. Dating as a pro was hard so he just assumed you two kept it super under the radar from everyone, including your friends. He never pushed either of you on the subject.
"Bakugou, there's no way there isn't something going between those two! Of course it's a big deal and of course I'm going to talk about it! Do you think they're dating or that they're just into each other?" Mina whispers loudly and excitedly. "Oh my god! She asked me to help her buy a dress, do you think that was because of Sero?" She directs the question to Kirishima knowing that they live close together and he's more likely to entertain her questions.
He doesn't want to get involved in you and Sero's relationship, it wouldn't be manly of him but he does wonder why neither of you have never mentioned anything to him before. He thinks about Kaminari and how it gives him a weird feeling. By the way you're leaning against each other now right now and talking close so that only each other can hear he has to admit it that it does look rather intimate.
"Don't forget guys, they're both always very touchy with people, not just with other." He's trying to rationalise it and you do always touch Kaminari and fall asleep on Sero and hug Mina, but when Sero leans down closer to talk to you it puts Bakugou and Kirishima on edge, Mina is ecstatic for her friends but Bakugou and Kirishima are now hyper-aware that Kaminari is in the room.
You look around the room trying to find Denki. "Want to wait for Denki."
Hanta straightens his posture and takes a deep breath but you're none the wiser. "Are you sure? He might be here for hours. I don't want you to collapse out of exhaustion."
"I'm sure Han," you whisper. "I'll.. I'll, wait for him. He shouldn't be too long. Thank you though, you're the best."
Right on cue, Denki turns around and looks at you, his eyes hardens when he see that you leaning against Hanta but as soon as you see him you beam from ear to ear, softening Denki's gaze. He excuses himself from the conversation he's having and starts to go over to you. Hanta noticed Denki, "I think Kaminari might take you home, he looks pretty displeased right now."
You giggle, "he's been a bit more protective of late. I think it's because our patrol times have been different and we haven't seen each other much. Hopefully soon it will be back to normal."
"Hey 'doll, hey Sero. What are you guys up to?"
You move off of Hanta, "can we go home soon Denki, 'm tired."
Denki's heart nearly breaks as he see's how drained you are and how drained you must have been for ages. "I'm sorry babydoll, I've been so wrapped up talking to everyone. I promise I'll make it up to you, let's go home yeah?" you nod your head and wave bye to Hanta.
Denki knows he should probably say goodbye to everyone individually but right now all he cares about is getting you back home. "Can you tell everyone we left and said bye Hanta," Denki requests.
"Sure thing dude. See you guys later, get home safe."
Denki holds your hand and intertwines your fingers with his before guiding you out.
The three onlookers were still watching the interaction, all with their drinks in their hand with Bakugou and Kirishima breathing a sigh of relief, when, from the distance it looked like everything was okay between Kaminari and Sero.
"Do you think she loves him?" Mina asks as she watches you follow Denki.
"Who?" Kirishima observes you leave.
"Kaminari." Mina responds having not taken her eyes off you since you started making your way to the door.
"Leave it raccoon eyes."
"it's just a question Bakugou." Mina retorts.
Kirishima sighs as he answers, "it's not any of our business Mina."
"They're our friends Kirishima."
"Yes and because of that we're staying out of it." As they were watching they were caught by Sero, making accidental eye contact with him. Everyone quickly looks away.
Denki takes you home and on the way he keeps apologising. "Please don't say sorry Denks." You squeeze his hand that you're still holding.
He turns to you and moves some of your hair out of the way of your face and delicately tucks it behind your ear, "'doll I am so sorry, and I need to apologise. I should have been more aware and have been making sure you're okay. I know how quickly your social battery drains, especially compared to mine, I should of been checking up on you," he's looking you in the eye, you think he must be tired too because his eyes are slightly watery. He presses your foreheads together and says so quietly it's a surprise you even heard him apoligise again, "I'm sorry."
You keep the same energy as he does and keep your foreheads together still touching, "it's okay Denki, I promise. You're here now. Plus Hanta was making sure I was okay."
Denki changes position and turns his head away from you, "yeah, but it should have been me."
Come the following morning Kirishima and Mina have completely forgot the conversation they had the previous, they had too much to drink and their memory of the end of the night is fuzzy only remembering pieces. Bakugou didn't drink at all, he remembers everything. He won't say anything to anyone.
You wake up to Denki entering your room with a tray and a huge gleeful grin on his face, "breakfast in bed! Made just for you." You rub your eyes slowly waking up, "I let you sleep in but I'm off today and so are you, so I thought we could spend the day together."
You groan, "five more minutes."
"I thought you'd say that," Denki chuckles and places the tray on your bedside table, "budge up, if you're going back to bed, I'm waiting here until you do." You groan as you make room for him. If you were more awake you would be internally screaming that Denki Kaminari, your best friend and the man you love is currently sitting next to you in bed but you're already half asleep.
Part 1 |
Warnings: non/dubcon and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
Summary: A fan makes an offer your can’t refuse.
(based on suggestion he’s been overworking himself for weeks if not months. He knows he needs a break but his work is too important. Maybe what he needs is someone to take care of him so he can focus more on work. from @thezombieprostitute)
Characters: Bucky Barnes
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
Your stomach writhes like worms in the dirt. You sit in the back of the uber, uneager to be at your destination. The driver asks if it’s a special occasion and you just sort of mutter. You look down at yourself; you’re sure dressed for something special.
It’s plain enough. A classic little black dress. Thick straps and a simple silhouette. Still, it’s tighter than you’re used to. You dressed it up with a slender silver chain that holds a heart charm and a velvet clutch. Your usual cotton and wool pale in comparison.
You watch on the GPS as the car moves closer and closer to the endpoint. You take out your phone and check the messages. You can barely read any of it as your hands jitter.
You’re being stupid. This is dangerous and stupid. You can’t meet a stranger. Even if he did pay you to do so. Even if you really need the money. You should just send it back.
‘Reservation for Barnes. The hostess will seat you.’
He sent that about an hour ago. His anticipation has only been met by your silent dread and dulcet agreement. It’s one thing to post photos online, faceless at that, but to meet a man like this. This is more than just posing and primping for a camera.
You thank the driver as he pulls up to the restaurant. You get out reluctantly and linger along the curb, tipping the uber as an excuse to take your time. You look up at the dusky facade and gulp. The cursive moniker assures you of your displacement.
You take a breath and cross the broad sidewalk. You dodge out of the way of another couple entering the restaurant. You don’t follow them as you hover outside. There were at least a few decades between the pair; what is this place?
You hug your wrap tight and teeter on your heels as you try to see through the tinted windows. You need to scare yourself out of this. You get one look at this guy and you’re gone. You’re running the other direction. Only then will it really be real. Only then will you get a bit of sense in you.
“Just in time, doll,” a deep voice crawls up your spine and you gasp as you twist around to face the speaker.
Your ankle bends dangerously as your heel catches in the pavement. You bat your lashes up at the stranger; it’s him. He’s even more handsome in person. It almost takes your breath away.
“Uh, hi,” you murmur. Your escape is foiled. Your second doubts are crushed in that instant. You don’t have the courage to walk away. If he’d never seen you, you could've easily scurried back to your hole and deleted everything. “Mr. Barnes?”
He laughs. His smile is deadly. He puts his hand on your arm, bold but casual.
“Bucky,” he offers, “come on,” he checks the watch on his other wrist, “we’re late.”
He nudges you towards the door, bringing his hand down to hover along your lower back. You walk forward numbly. You don’t know what else to do but go with it.
He opens the door and ushers you ahead of him. The hostess greets him as ‘Mr. Barnes’ and is prompt to lead you through the dim lounge. A round booth awaits you near the back of the restaurant.
The hostess takes your wrap and you place your clutch on the seat as you settle onto the curved cushion. Bucky sits and orders a bottle of Shiraz. You fight to keep your shoulders up, trying to wilt in the luxury of the place. You’re an assistant librarian, what are you doing here?
He slides to the back of the booth, reaching over to wrap his hand lightly around your wrist. He tugs until you reticently shimmy closer. You keep your eyes on the table, fumbling with the wrapped silverware.
“Nervous,” he says. You nod and still the cutlery. “Me too.”
You’re surprised by his confession. He must do this all the time. He’s rich and handsome and oh, how stupid you really are. Of course you’re just another in the long line.
You look up at him, flinching as you find him watching you. You wonder if your lipstick is patchy or if you smeared your eye liner again. You bring your hands back into your lap and wring them.
You notice the gray patch among the short stubble along his jaw, a few more strands of silver laced around his temples. His hair is smoothed back but the longer strands threaten to fall forward. He lifts his arm coolly and rests it on the seat behind you. He smells amazing.
“I
” you begin. “I think I made a mistake.”
He tilts his head, his eyes narrowing slightly but otherwise, he does not react.
“How do you know? You haven’t even made the mistake yet,” his hand drifts down to tickle your shoulder, “one glass of wine. How about that? You have one glass before we order, then you can decide.”
“I
 I’m not what you think I am,” you utter.
“Doll, you’re exactly what I want,” he winks just before he turns away, another dashing smile sent to the waitress as she arrives with the wine.
One drink. You can do that.
French Expressions based on Other Nationalities
by u/Beurreboule
These expressions come from various online platforms, with a strict focus on those whose etymology can be linked to specific nationalities. It is important to note that this map is not intended to offend, but rather to explore the linguistic interaction between cultures.
I've picked expressions that are tied to people or nationalities. For instance, “To have the Portugueses sanded” (Avoir les portugaises ensablĂ©es) refers to a type of oysters, not the people of Portugal.
Here is the list of these expressions, along with their origins:
To take a Scottish shower (Prendre une douche Ă©cossaise): This French expression dates back to the 19th century and refers to a hydrotherapy practiced at that time in Scotland. In a figurative sense, it describes a situation where a combination of sensations, events, or impressions swiftly transition from being positive to turning negative.
The English have landed (Les anglais ont débarqué): In comparison to the British armies which, during the Napoleonic wars, were dressed in red.
To slip away the English way (Filer à l’anglaise): Probably an alteration of the English "to take French leave", dating from the 19th century.
To talk like a Spanish cow (Parler comme une vache espagnole): According to the most plausible hypothesis, it would be a distortion of the Occitan expression “parlar coma un gavach espanhĂČl” (to speak like a Spanish gabatch). The word “gabatch” designates here the mountain dweller from the Pyrenees.
A Spanish wanking (Une branlette espagnole): The origin of this 20th century expression is obscure and mysterious.
A Spanish inn (Une auberge espagnole): This expression was used in the 17th century to describe the poor quality of inns/hostels in Spain, which were widely used because they were on the road to Santiago de Compostela.
A German quarrel (Une querelle d’allemand): The most commonly accepted theory is that the Holy Roman Germanic Empire was made up of numerous small states. These rulers frequently looked for opportunities to engage in battles with neighboring states, aiming to capture land and increase their power and influence.
To be drunk like a Pole (Être saoul comme un polonais): This expression, which has become pejorative, was not so at its beginnings. After a decisive battle, the Polish lancers of Kozietulski in Spain in 1808 were paraded before Napoleon as heroic survivors of this elite unit. Jealous French generals, wanting to downplay the role of the Poles, claimed that they were drunk. The Emperor responded to them, "Well then, gentlemen, learn to be as drunk as the Poles!". Another version states that Napoleon, in admiration, said, "One had to be as drunk as a Pole to accomplish that."
The Russian mountains (les montagnes russes): The concept of Russian Mountains originated from toboggan races held on snow-covered hills, especially in the vicinity of Saint Petersburg. In the late 1700s, these races gained immense popularity, prompting entrepreneurs to explore the idea in other countries. This led to the development of rides using wheeled cars on tracks. In 1812, the company "Les Montagnes Russes" constructed and operated such rides in the Belleville district of Paris. The term was subsequently used to describe roller coasters, and this analogy led to the emergence of the expression.
A Roman’s job (Un travail de romain): From the reputation of the Romans for having accomplished Herculean works, especially the construction of aqueducts and ancient roads.
To be strong like a Turk (Être fort comme un turc): This expression comes from the 15th century and refers to the period of the Ottoman Empire when the Turks achieved many conquests through their sheer strength and ruthless behavior, showing no mercy. Thus, during that time, the Turks represented the ultimate enemy, seen as unbeatable.
To be the Turkish head (Être la tĂȘte de turc): This expression is based on the entertainment found at French fairs in the late 19th century. These amusements involved gauging one's strength by hitting a head wearing a turban, evoking the stereotypical image of a Turk.
To send to the Greek calends (Renvoyer aux calends grecques): From the Calends, which were not Greek but Roman, is an expression used by Suetonius in The Twelve Caesars to say “never”.
To go get lost at the Greeks (Aller se faire voir chez les grecs): This expression indirectly refers to the alleged common homosexuality among Greeks since ancient times, including practices like pederasty. Notably, Plato's work "The Symposium" illustrates this, featuring figures like Socrates.
The Role of No Claim Bonus (NCB) in Reducing Your Car Insurance Premium
Tumblr media
When it comes to buying car insurance, most vehicle owners aim to find ways to lower their premium without compromising on the coverage. One of the most effective methods to do this is by utilizing the No Claim Bonus (NCB). NCB rewards policyholders who haven’t made any claims during the previous policy year, offering them a discount on their premium for the next year. Let’s delve into how NCB works and how it can help reduce your car insurance price.
What is No Claim Bonus (NCB)?
No Claim Bonus (NCB) is a reward offered by car insurance companies to policyholders for every claim-free year. It acts as an incentive to drive carefully and avoid claims for minor damages, which could be handled without involving the insurer. Over time, the NCB discount accumulates, significantly reducing your car insurance premium.
For instance, if you have a car insurance policy and you do not make any claims in the first year, you become eligible for a discount on your premium during renewal. As the number of claim-free years increases, so does the NCB percentage, potentially reducing the premium by up to 50% after five consecutive claim-free years.
How NCB Reduces Your Car Insurance Premium
NCB is directly tied to the premium of your motor insurance policy. When you renew your car insurance online after a claim-free year, your premium will be lower due to the NCB discount. Here’s a typical breakdown of how NCB can help reduce your premium:
After 1 claim-free year: 20% discount
After 2 claim-free years: 25% discount
After 3 claim-free years: 35% discount
After 4 claim-free years: 45% discount
After 5 claim-free years: 50% discount
This discount is applied only to the own-damage component of the car insurance policy and not to the premium for third party insurance. However, even with third-party insurance as part of your overall coverage, NCB can substantially lower your total premium.
Key Benefits of No Claim Bonus (NCB)
Substantial Premium Savings As mentioned earlier, the NCB can lead to premium reductions of up to 50%, which means huge savings over time, especially if you maintain a claim-free record for several years.
Transferability The NCB is tied to the policyholder, not the vehicle. This means if you decide to sell your car and buy a new one, you can transfer the accumulated NCB to your new car insurance policy. This feature is particularly useful when purchasing a new vehicle, as it helps keep your premium low right from the start.
Long-Term Financial Benefits By driving safely and avoiding claims for minor damages, you can accumulate NCB over time, making the cost of your car insurance policy lower in the long run. This promotes responsible driving and rewards you for maintaining your vehicle in good condition.
What Affects NCB?
While NCB is an excellent way to reduce premiums, there are certain scenarios where you could lose your NCB:
Making a Claim If you file a claim during the policy year, your NCB will be reset to zero at the time of renewal. Even a single claim can result in the loss of your accumulated NCB.
Policy Lapse If your car insurance lapses and you do not renew it within the grace period, you may lose your NCB benefits. It is crucial to renew your motor insurance on time to avoid losing these valuable discounts.
Protecting Your NCB with NCB Protector
Many car insurance companies offer an NCB Protector add-on that ensures you don’t lose your accumulated NCB even if you file a claim. This add-on is beneficial if you’ve built up a significant NCB over the years and want to safeguard it in case of an accident or unforeseen damage. However, this protection may be available only for a limited number of claims, and it’s advisable to thoroughly read the terms and conditions before opting for this add-on.
Why NCB is Important for Your Car Insurance
NCB is an essential tool for reducing your car insurance premium. Whether you have comprehensive or third party insurance, keeping a claim-free record offers long-term financial benefits. As the price of car insurance online continues to rise, the NCB provides a reliable way to keep costs manageable.
When you look for the best car insurance or compare quotes from different car insurance companies, check how much NCB discount you are eligible for. This can significantly impact the overall car insurance price and help you make an informed decision.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the No Claim Bonus (NCB) is a vital aspect of reducing your car insurance premium while maintaining adequate coverage. By driving safely, renewing your car policy on time, and choosing the right add-ons like NCB protectors, you can enjoy substantial savings on your car insurance over the years. Whether you’re renewing your policy or purchasing a new car insurance plan, understanding how NCB works can help you optimize your premium and make the most of your motor insurance.
Take advantage of the NCB benefits and make sure to inquire about this feature when purchasing or renewing your car insurance policy.
The art of colours| Kylian Mbappé x Fem Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: After four hard years of study, you are finally graduating which means you must hand in your final thesis which Kylian is very proud of until he finds out who you have dedicated this thesis to.
Warnings: English is not my first language, and I am not studying anything related to psychology so there may be mistakes in this field.
As you gazed into the mirror, a smile of pride spread across your face, admiring how the satin suit hugged your frame flawlessly. This moment marked more than just the end of your studies and training. It signified your official entry into the realm of psychology, liberating you from the confines of your office.
The past four years have been undeniably challenging, particularly within the realm of psychology, a field so crucial to our daily lives. In an ever-evolving landscape of knowledge, students were required to continuously engage in various training courses to stay abreast of the latest therapies and discoveries. Yet, the most demanding aspect lay in the field placements. Let me tell you, those placements were the epitome of your career's purity, where the true essence of your calling came to light. However, they also exacted an emotional toll. Witnessing the anguish of young children, whose concerns should have revolved around playtime rather than dinner schedules, was profoundly draining. It was in those moments that the weight of the responsibility you carried truly settled upon you.
Finding the perfect balance between personal life and studies proved challenging on a personal level. Kylian's schedule was packed with games, advertising campaigns, conferences, and interviews ever since he announced his departure from the French club, not to mention the upcoming Olympics that summer. Nevertheless, both of you managed to find a way to organize yourselves. Despite the chaos, two days belonged entirely to you: Mondays and Sundays. On these days, you caught up on the little everyday occurrences, from Dembélé's new car to contemplating a vase for your living room. You cherished these conversations, reveling in their innocence and spontaneity. To you, they were a tangible expression of the love you shared, something you made a conscious effort to prioritize. Even though you lived together, daily life often kept you apart more than you'd like.
On the flip side, amidst the stressful situations and disparaging comments your partner endured throughout the year, you made a concerted effort to establish one-on-one sessions on Sundays. In these sessions, you provided a safe space for him to open up and confront the negative thoughts tormenting him, aiming to help him channel these emotions and find solutions to his overwhelming feelings. This task was far from easy. Kylian, being naturally closed off, often attempted to postpone these sessions, fearing vulnerability. Over time, however, they became more manageable. Occasionally, they concluded with Kylian seeking solace in your embrace, tears flowing freely as he grappled with feelings of failure in his endeavors to satisfy French fans, whether due to online criticisms or harsh comparisons with other players.
Kylian marveled at your knack for reframing his thoughts and showing him the silver linings in every situation. He tended to dwell on lost games, mentally berating himself for missed opportunities and what-ifs. However, since meeting you, you consistently helped him find something positive in each of those moments. It was easy for him to forget that his career was a journey of constant growth and learning. Even when a loss felt like the end of the world, you reminded him that it could have been worse—like being sidelined with an injury for the rest of the season. Your perspective not only shifted his mindset but also helped him appreciate the invaluable lessons hidden within every setback.
He was in awe of your ability to infuse brightness into even the darkest moments, whether they were everyday occurrences or major events. Despite his busy schedule, he made every effort to support you in any way he could. Whether it was giving you a massage during long hours at the computer or preparing your favorite breakfast of coffee with almond milk and avocado toast topped with a grated egg, he sought to motivate you on days when you barely had time to eat.
So, when you shared the news that you had finally completed that assignment, he couldn't contain his joy. He enveloped you in a tight hug, overflowing with pride. Without hesitation, he swiftly arranged an elegant dinner by the beach to celebrate the culmination of all the time you spent locked away in your office. Excitedly, he accompanied you as you opened the package containing your five printed papers—four of which would be submitted for your final year dissertation examination, while one would remain in your home as a cherished keepsake.
This morning, he made a concerted effort to motivate you, ensuring to planted a gentle kiss before you departed for your lecture. However, he also wanted you to come home to a space where you could unwind and relax. He mentioned that he would subtly start tidying up his house—perhaps clearing away the breakfast dishes that still lingered or straightening up the living room, which had become a bit disheveled from the movie you only managed to get halfway through before drifting off into sleep.
As he tidied up the living room, his gaze inevitably fell upon your photocopied final-year project, eliciting a smile. His eyes traced the meticulous attention to detail evident in the neatness of the photograph, which sought to visually summarize your thesis. The title, "The Art of Infant Psychology," was adorned with vibrant shades, each color imbuing significance. The accompanying picture, with its play of reverse colors, mirrored the essence of your thesis—exploring how colors could influence children's cognition and how educators, parents, or legal guardians could discern potential concerns through the colors or drawings their children presented.
Subtly, he lifted the book, intending to leaf through its pages at a leisurely pace. While he didn't expect to grasp the technicalities you had employed as he didn't think he could understand the technicalities you had used as you often tried to share them with him and, not understanding them, he would simply kiss you back as he admired you saying, "My girl is the smartest". However, his intention was diverted when a particular page quickly seized his attention: "Acknowledgements."
"Firstly, I would like to express my sincere thanks to my tutor, Chloe, for her guidance, support, and dedication throughout the process of writing this dissertation. Her comments and suggestions have been fundamental to improving my work and carrying it out in her rigorous way.
I would also like to thank the teaching staff of the Psychology degree for providing me with quality training and encouraging my interest in research and innovation in this field.
Furthermore, I am grateful to my friends and family, especially my parents, for their emotional support and understanding throughout the process. Their words of encouragement and motivation have been a great boost to keep going and overcome the obstacles.
Lastly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my partner, Kylian, who has been my unwavering support through the darkest days. He has been my greatest inspiration for pursuing this end-of-degree project, as he embodies the essence of the art of colors. To me, Kylian is more than just a footballer; when I look at him, I see the vibrant hues of the rainbow, and for all these reasons, I consider him my source of vitality.
While it's said that no one color is superior to another, I believe that a blend of colors is far more captivating than a single shade. We witness this in a painting, where the variety of colors chosen by the artist leaves us in awe.
Well, that's what Kylian means to me. He embodies the color red, symbolizing vitality and passion, as he tirelessly pursues his dreams and supports those of his loved ones, including mine, even when we feel exhausted.
Moreover, Kylian is like the color orange, representing healing. He has been a source of profound healing for me, especially mentally, arriving at a time when I felt I could barely stand, yet he fearlessly stood by my side, offering unwavering support and reminding me that we're in this together.
Similarly, he radiates the warmth and brightness of the color yellow, bringing joy and optimism into my life. His presence is infectious, spreading happiness like sunlight, simply hearing his voice lifts my spirits.
Indeed, we cannot overlook the significance of the color green, representing nature's enduring presence. Just as Kylian embodies this natural beauty, he also mirrors its essence in his unwavering support and understanding. Much like the everyday rhythms of nature that we often take for granted, Kylian's steadfast encouragement has been a constant in my life. His support has never hindered my academic pursuits or demanded more time than I could give, flowing as naturally as the gentle swaying of tree branches in the wind. For this, I am deeply grateful to him.
Kylian also embodies the tranquility and calmness of the color blue. Despite the pressures he faces, he maintains a serene demeanor, navigating through challenges with grace and composure, much like the gentle sway of tree branches in the wind.
And then there's the color purple, symbolizing magic and spirituality. Kylian's spirit is truly enchanting, inspiring not only me but also those around him. He's deeply influenced by the motivations of his loved ones, infusing his actions with purpose and meaning.
In essence, Kylian has profoundly changed my life since the day we met, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
In summary, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the people who have contributed in any way to the realization of this work. Your contributions have been essential to achieving the objectives set and bringing this project to a successful conclusion.
Kylian couldn't help but feel confused and surprised, but above all very happy. From that moment on, his face lit up, as now more than ever he allowed himself to make that night unique to show you how proud and grateful he was that you were part of his life.
Call your mom
Based on the Noah Kahan song Call Your Mom
Warning contains talks of mental health
Grab your tissues this is going to be a sad one x
Lando's POV
I glanced over at Y/N, my heart sinking as I saw her sitting on the sofa in my streaming room. She was bouncing her knee anxiously, tears streaming down her cheeks. It wasn't the first time I'd seen her like this, and it always tore me apart.
Oh, you're spiralin' again The moment right before it ends, you're most afraid of
From the beginning of our relationship, I knew Y/N battled with her mental health. The constant barrage of hate comments, comparisons to her brothers, and the vile death threats she received online seemed to chip away at her resilience. No matter how much love and support I offered, there were moments when it felt like I was helpless to shield her from the cruelty of the world.
I moved closer to her, sitting down beside her on the sofa. Gently, I reached out and brushed away the tears from her cheeks, my heart aching with the need to comfort her.
Don't let this darkness fool you All lights turned off can be turned on
I sat there with her holding her until she was exhausted from crying, so I picked her up took her to our room and placed her in bed giving her a kiss on the forehead before going to my side of the bed and getting in,
I heard movements at some point during the night but just thought it was our cat until I heard the front door shut, I jumped out of bed and quickly grabbed my keys, "she couldn't have gone far" I whispered to myself before releasing she can run fast and far
I jumped in the car quickly started it and pulled out of the driveway, I had her Life 360 open so i could track where she was going and quickly drove to her location
Medicate, meditate, save your soul for Jesus Throw a punch, fall in love, give yourself a reason Don't wanna drive another mile without knowin' you're breathin' So, won't you stay, won't you stay, won't you stay with me?
 when I saw her Life 360 location paused my heart pounded with every passing second she knew I would use it so I couldn't find her. The thought of her out there alone, battling her demons in the darkness, filled me with a sense of dread, unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
 I knew that all lights turned off could be turned on again, but first, I needed to find her and remind her that she was not alone in this fight.
I climbed into my car and drove, the familiar streets blurring together in a haze of desperation and fear. "I'll drive, I'll drive all night," I vowed to myself, determination fueling my every move. I couldn't let her slip away, not now, not ever.
As I rounded a corner, my heart skipped a beat when I saw her silhouette standing alone on the edge of the road. I pulled up beside her, rolling down the window as she turned to face me with tear-stained cheeks and haunted eyes.
"Oh, dear, don't be discouraged," I murmured, the lyrics of the song tumbling from my lips like a prayer. "I've been exactly where you are, and I promise you, it will get better. But first, you need to come home with me."
She hesitated for a moment, uncertainty flickering in her gaze, but then she nodded slowly as if she had finally found the strength to surrender to the safety of my embrace.
"I'll call your mom," I promised, reaching out to take her hand in mine. "And together, we'll face whatever comes our way, one step at a time."
As we drove back home, the weight of her struggles still heavy in the air between us, I knew that the road ahead would be long and difficult. But with love as our compass and hope as our guide, I was confident that we would find our way through the darkness, together.
It feels sometimes like I'm living in a crazy world. It's so frustrating to me, to feel so much that I am right yet most people I encounter act like I'm insane;
I'll give you guys some context;
As we all know, I'm a huge Deadpool fan. And that means I follow a lot of stuff related to the media.
And recently I made a comment on Threads complimenting the stunt work in the new movie, saying "I'm a pacifist, but the way the action scenes in Deadpool are shot makes violence look sexy as fuck". Y'know just a funny little joke, what have you.
And then... Some person (probably a lady by the way they talked) replied to me and said basically that she watched the movies with her 11 year old kid.
And well y'know, I was concerned. Because all the Deadpool movies are rated R. So they're adult-oriented, made for adult audiences, with nudity and sex and gore and violence and swearing...
And I told her that. And the lady just started getting mad like "oh you don't know me or my family" and "he's very grown up for his age" and "it's just a movie it's not a big deal".
Like... Fuck, man. I've been in the adult industry for years now. I've encountered minors who have been raised on unadulterated violence and sex and all that shit. Kids whose parents didn't think it was a big deal and vehiculated that idea to their children.
And yeah sure, sometimes it doesn't do anything to the kid. But sometimes it does, and then we, the adult content creators, are the ones having to deal with that shit.
Of minors posting comments under our posts, talking about our work, hell I even had some try to get free art or flirt with me, knowing I was an adult and they weren't.
Or minors making their own adult art and sharing it online, and then of course getting mad when told it was dangerous and saying "it's not a big deal" and whatnot.
This is how it starts. Being surrounded by people who enable that behavior. Yes, even if it's "just a movie" and "there are worst things out there".
The risk is real.
I actually made a comparison in the argument with that lady with seatbelts, because with cars, plenty of people will never experience a crash and be fine their own lives, and yet seatbelts are still heavily pushed because they are a safe method in case something happens. And people who scoff at seatbelts and say they're useless are usually looked down upon because they're actively ignoring risks associated to piloting a car without any safety measures.
And that's the same thing here
Oh wait, and it's not over yet
Because THEN, during the argument, the lady brought up an article about how Ryan Reynolds showed his 9yo daughter his new movie (Deadpool 3). And I just... Feel so disappointed.
I assume the lady showed me the article to "prove her point" but instead all it did was just make me feel even worse because not even the fucking lead actor of an adult movie cares about this shit
And it sucks
I'm just... So tired. Of everything...
Walz is the opposite of weird: Kamala Harris' running mate shows masculinity can be about love and not hate
. . .
This hysterical reaction to a banal student health program speaks to MAGA misogyny, but also to the twisted view of masculinity at the heart of Trumpism. As Walz said in the viral clip where he also deemed MAGA Republicans "weird," it's like they're all running for "the he-man woman haters’ club." In the Trumpist milieu, hate is what makes someone a "real" man: hate of racial minorities, of LGBTQ people, and especially of women. In this view, "real" men don't accept menstruation as a normal fact of life. Instead, men are expected to lose their minds at the mere mention of periods
. .
Walz, in comparison, has an easygoing masculinity, one that is about love and not hate. He's a guy's guy, from his dad jokes to his career coaching football to his enthusiastic promotion of the basics of car maintenance. In one viral clip, Walz offers a "pro tip of the day" on how to fix a Ford headlight in 5 minutes with a $7.99 part.
. . .
As a male friend texted me, "there is a genuine hunger out there — I see it in many of my students — for some kind of positive model of how to be in the world as a straight white dude." Trump and his acolytes offer an exhausting and harmful model, that is entitled, rage-fueled, and its heart, deeply insecure. Walz, however, seems comfortable in his own skin. He shows there's nothing wrong with liking football and fixing your own car — both are fine uses of a person's time! All that "traditional man" stuff can live quite comfortably with "woke" ideas like "women are people, too." As Walz has persuasively posited, his is the more normal way to be. It's the MAGA try-hards who are the weirdoes. The phrase "tonic masculinity" — in opposition to the toxic masculinity of MAGA — soon started to spread online.
