kind of irritates me a little bit when people act like it's weird or wrong or ooc for sy to have internalized homophobia as if that isn't probably the most realistic thing about the plot to begin with. he's a chinese man who grew up in the late 90s - early 00s and spent all his time online i would be frankly more surprised if he had ZERO hangups about being gay. this is explicitly presented as a character flaw so i'm not sure why people act like mxtx is homophobic for writing a guy with internalized homophobia. also he like gets over it in volume 4 anyways you gotta give him some time dude he died like 3 times and he keeps getting force-fed blood he's got a lot on his plate

Here is a little snippet of a silly little fic I started last night (which is the most writing I've done in a month 🙃) pls validate me because my brain has been broken since I posted my last fic

First of all, Eddie never even wanted to download the damn dating app. The only reason his account even exists is because two hefty glasses of wine at Hen and Karen’s had lowered his inhibitions just enough that he rolled his eyes and handed his phone over to them to get them to shut up about getting him back out there. Secondly, the guy staring back at him on his screen is definitely not the type of guy that Eddie would swipe right on, even if he were remotely interested in dating someone from this app. But he’s had a few more glasses of wine since they set up his profile, and the guy is fucking hot. “Oh shit,” he says by accident when the guy’s profile shows up. The words escape his lips before he can stop them, taken aback by the perfectly chiseled abs on his screen, a sheen of sweat glimmering on his skin. Hen looks up from her phone, eyebrows raised. “No one has pulled that reaction from you yet.” Before he can respond, Eddie feels his mouth drop open as he scrolls through the guy’s profile. Ex-stripper turned med student. Willing to trade lap dances for a nice message. Here for a rotation. Hen and Karen crowd beside him to get a glimpse at his phone and immediately burst out laughing. Eddie blames the wine for the blush he feels creeping up his neck.

Lil tangent about how retarded thinking like this is

I used to identify as bisexual because I thought I wasn't attracted to women all that much so I had to like men. After coming out as trans and embracing it as a part of me I noticed that the way I dealt with attraction was based on "would they be attracted to how I see myself?" Since I've always seen myself subconsciously as a woman that led me to think I only like men and queer women, but through experimenting I was able to better figure myself out and find that I wasn't actually attracted to men.

Experimentation is how some people find their queer identities. Previously straight men could identify as bisexual or gay through their experiences with men. Some learn that they're straight through seeking a queer relationship. Also past sexual experiences doesn't define who you are. If it were so, my mom would be bisexual, which she is not, purely because she's had sex with other women.

Division is pointless and doesn't change the cishet view of queerness. It doesn't make you "one of the good ones."
