I know I went on a raving tear about the glories of companion-less playthroughs earlier today, but what if I told you that I also spent today beginning to re-record (and slightly re-write the lyrics of) an obscure old song of mine (originally co-created with a band that's been defunct for 14 years) so I can stretch its meaning juuuuust enough to theoretically apply to a particular favorite companion?
Edited to add that it’s in D Minor because noir.
Edited again to note the vibe will probably be a lot like some of the tunes on my Nightwarden After Hours playlist.
was just at a mitski cover concert... anyone who wants to hear some fantastic string quartet arrangements of mitski songs hit me up in replies/ask/DMs ill send u a gdrive link
ABUELA: remember the story of your name...
it was engraved on a passing ship on the day your family came
your father said: “usnavi
that's what we'll name the baby.”
USNAVI: it really said “u.s. navy”
but hey...
i worked with what they gave me okay...
the run of songs in my back was a bridge for you to cross that goes sliver of ice -> can't -> scapegoat might be the best sequencing decision on an album ever

Guess who's tying out for school auditions with a recorder again
Ft. The modeling clay I stuck onto the camera so it can't show my face. Cause after 3 retakes over the span of 2 days of course it's the position where my face is most obvious that gets the best audio quality
it sucks when ur trying to find more music similar to a specific song but all ur “songs like ___” or r/ifyoulikeblank google searches are yielding NOTHING because everyone else looking wants more music similar to different criteria of said song that you do. point #834904985403 as to why we need to bring the hyper specific microgenre names of electronic music to all genres (joking. ....unless?)
I know theres like people obsessed with Nirvana's version of Where Did You Sleep Last Night but like you need to listen to the Lead Belly version, hell, listen to Lead Belly in general. Kurt absolutely wanted people to listen to Lead Belly. His blues interpretations of folk songs, murder ballads, prison songs, and his own original blues songs are so foundational to contemporary interpretations of songs like "Midnight Special", "Black Betty", the aforementioned "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?", and "Goodnight Irene". And quite frankly without Lead Belly so many of what is considered "iconic" white rock n roll bands and musicians would not have existed, people like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Pete Seeger just to name a few.
