I think that prompto probably does that thing of like. yknow when you feel so starved for like, love and approval, that when someone earnestly compliments you or says they like something about you you can basically feel your brain sitting up like a dog for a treat?? and you have to like actively resist the urge to not go whole hog on whatever they complimented so they’ll continue to like you and be nice to you???? yeah. all I’m saying here is every time one of the chocobros is like genuinely appreciative or sweet towards prompto he is mentally straining at the bit to be normal about it. ignis smiles at him and thanks him for being helpful with setting up camp and in his head prompto is trying to figure out how to do every single set up task for ignis without it being weird. noctis tells him there’s just something about his photos that always hits different than when someone else does it and now prompto collects photos for him in the same way a cat leaves dead mice on your doorstep. do you see what I mean?

this is my rating of the ffxv episodes in the order that i've played them in/am playing them in because no one has or ever will ask

Episode Ignis: i cried once at the end of the true ending and called him a gay fag to make myself feel better while playing, good dlc tbh

Episode Ardyn: Pure confusion on my part, I franticly tried not to die while fighting Somnus, good background music tho, nice dlc hobo Jesus

Episode Gladiolus: Shity. That's it. Called him a fag the whole time because fuck you, I'm gay, i can say it. Literal trash of a dlc though

Episode Prompto: Tears. Just fucking tears. That sequence where i had to guide him through the snow while my man was internal monologuing. Tears. When my guy sat sadly all alone at the vending machines to rest. Literal tears. Have i finished it? No. Have a met his bitch ass father yet? No. Have I met Aranea (Mommy, sorry not sorry Dolly) in the dlc yet? No. And i cried genuine tears over my little man multiple times.

It was supposed to be a vacation. It was supposed to be a time of fun and relaxation. The night was never meant to end up like this. Blood was never meant to have been spilled.

Embers danced across ruby colored scales of a marilith, her serpentine body glinting a dangerous molten gold at times as she slithered around the destruction she caused. Her piercing yellow eyes scanned the area, looking for anything that might have survived her onslaught until she caught sight of a young boy. He was disoriented, bleary eyed, and trying to process the blood of a dead woman who laid on top of him.

The lady's blood had pooled under them, warm and wet. The boy could only look at the red stains upon his hand, delirium fogging his senses.

Slithering forward, the marilith towered over the boy, watching him with this mixed expression of disgust and intrigue. In her six arms, she held a scimitar. Each of her hands adjusted their grip on the hilts of their blades, ready to strike at the boy who dared to still draw breath. Who dared to defy her wrath.

Soon he would fall at her blade as well.

Before she could strike, a brilliant flash of blue streaked across the marilith’s face, cutting her cheek. Looking at her assailant with a shriek, she focused all her attention on the regal-looking man donned in black that appeared seemingly out of nowhere with a small army of guards at his beck and call. Weapons shimmered into existence around the man -- the same brilliant blue, crystalline in appearance as they swirled around him before being directed to attack the marilith further.

Words were shouted, actions were taken in attempting to subdue the creature, but to the boy everything seemed to fade in and out of focus. The words sounded like muffled cries, struggling to permeate the dense cotton of shock that filled his head. The impact of the metal blades was softened to a dull clinking in his mind. Warm and cold colors mixed together; the fire and night sky mingled with one another amidst the battle of his saviors and the marilith that had killed everyone else within the car he was riding in.

Everyone in the envoy.

Everyone in the car with him.

They were all dead.

It happened so fast.

Of course that was all the boy could remember of that event before the world around him went dark and his head fell back against the blood stained ground. The shock of everything finally secured its grasp upon him.

The battle with the marilith raged on until an airship flew by overhead and dropped a container over top of her, sealing her within. Everyone could hear her scream, her voice muffled. All she could do within was desperately slash her blades against the steel walls.

A confused murmur spread across the guards, but the regal-looking man took this opportunity to call back his guards to retrieve any bodies they could while he rushed to the dead woman and unconscious boy. Scooping them both up, one in each arm, he fled with the rest of his guard as the occupants of the airship descended down upon the container with the marilith to secure it further.

Those that were not helping to secure the marilith stood guard, holding up banners that were largely white with a red border strip against the pole. A red strip that went horizontally across the flag was a largely visible feature. In the middle of the flag, golden dragons facing each other while intertwined at their tails around a sword, a crown atop it, and a wreath underneath.

It was the flag of the Niflheim Empire.

I am sorry, but Sean Bean as VA for Regis was TOP NOTCH choice. He was *PERFECT* for the role. PERFECT.

He has the gravitas, the timbre, it just suited the character SO WELL.
