The Johnny Bright incident was a violent on-field assault against African-American player Johnny Bright by a white opposing player during an American college football game held on October 20, 1951, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The game was significant in itself as it marked the first time that an African-American athlete with a national profile and of critical importance to the success of his team, the Drake Bulldogs, had played against Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) at Oklahoma A&M's Lewis Field. Bright's injury also highlighted the racial tensions of the times and assumed notoriety when it was captured in what was later to become both a widely disseminated and eventually Pulitzer Prize–winning photo sequence.

The campaign riding high on last nights campaign stayed the night in Wichita and found a church for Sunday worship services. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce didn't join, but we were able to thank them last night for helping make the rally a success. The 'official' schedule is below and it should be noted that Deb Haaland joined us in Stillwater

Wichita, KS Event Location: Central Community Church Event Type: Sunday Worship Services Event Time: 9:00 - 12:00 CT *No speeches were made by the Vice President or the campaign surrogates. They did arrive early and stick around after services for meet and greet opportunities with the large congregation in West Wichita.

Stillwater, OK Event Location: Oklahoma State University Event Type: Get Out the Vote Event Time: 15:00 - 18:00 CT *The campaign kicked off yet another Get Out the Vote initiative, this time at the Cowboy's campus. Deb Haaland and Kamala Harris did some meetings with various faculty members, and some off-campus door knocking. While, Justin Jones, Al Gore and Andy Beshear met with various student groups on campus.

Governors Tim Walz and Laura Kelly hit the campaign trail in the state of Oklahoma today hosting three events that speak to the various focuses of the campaign. The 'official' schedule is below.

Ada, OK Event Location: Chickasaw Nation Foundation Event Type: Breakfast with Tribal Leaders Event Time: 8:00 - 11:00 CT *Governor Anoatubby, Lt. Governor Anoatubby, and Ambassador-at-Large McCaleb were the initial leaders met for breakfast. Other tribal leaders attended as well after the initial 90-minute discussion.

Stillwater, OK Event Location: Oklahoma State University Event Type: Get Out the Vote Event Time: 14:00 - 17:00 CT *This event was only done on-campus. Voter Registration and voter turnout were the focus of every conversation the governors had.

Tulsa, OK Event Location: Studio 308 Event Type: Educators' Dinner with Discussion Event Time: 19:00 - 22:00 CT *Note this event had 200 attendees who are school district superintendents and principals as well as teachers who have completed 20 years of service. These educators came from across the state!
