I really like the Burly Beast flair that's coming from @gracefireheart's Red Oktoberfest's gem fusion.

I bet he gets a lot of silly thoughts and starts giggling out of nowhere (It's medic coming up with a funny idea and telling heavy about it). He probably high-fives himself after doing something cool. King of self love, ultimate being, 10/10.

I just….. here’s the thing. I’m disappointed first of all that the writers seemed to think deeply about the relationship between Ozai & Azula to the extent that we saw her struggling to please him & the stress & insecurity it was causing. I loved the introduction of these two & Ozai’s clear power & manipulation & Azula’s panic when he seemed pleased with Zuko. I loved Azula dramatically shooting the letter about Zuko doing good.

I’m lost with Azula standing up to Ozai. I do recognize that this seems to have been what he wanted. What bothers me is that Azula wouldn’t do that. She’s not louder & braver than Zuko - she’s more diplomatic & smarter about knowing when to say the right thing to please Ozai or keep her mouth shut & follow orders. These are fundamental aspects to the dynamics of the Fire Family & the writers seemed super close to getting it so it hurt to see things get so ridiculous.

Also discount Zhao’s speech to Zuko in the finale made no sense. Ignoring how ridiculous this version of Zhao was & how much I disliked his supposed alliance with Azula - why would he give that speech? I made fun of “you are the fire in which her iron was forged” when I watched but it’s not in itself a BAD line about the fire siblings in a different context. I just don’t see why Zhao would say it given he’s implied to be Just Some Guy & not like, a personal friend of Ozai’s or anything in this version. I guess you could say he knows this stuff because he’s working with Azula? I mean…. I guess.

But aside from that specific line I’m so bothered by 1. The whole “tell rather than show” method of conveying information & 2. The idea that Ozai is…. More focused on playing games with his family than things like world domination?

I just feel like Ozai’s ambivalence on a personal level toward his children while he’s way more focused on power than them makes more sense. Why is this suddenly Ozai’s whole thing? I never got that idea in the OG. Sure he manipulates his kids but it’s more something he seems to just do casually while he’s honestly obsessed with personal gain & power above all else & not spending much time thinking about his kids you know?

I’m not opposed to changing some specifics & I do think early on there was promise shown for the Fire Nation Royal family in this version but it became ridiculous to me toward the end idk.
