Kendrick Bangs Kellogg (1934 – February 16, 2024)

Kendrick Bangs Kellogg was the pioneer of organic architecture. In the past decades, Kellogg completed over a dozen striking structures (residential and public), each marked with his distinctly curved, irregular, and expressive style. Influenced by his family’s ties to Frederick Law Olmsted, the ‘Father of Landscape Architecture’, Kellogg’s independent architectural journey began after a brief meeting with Frank Lloyd Wright in 1955.

However, unlike Wright and organic architect Bruce Goff, his style explicitly defies categorization, often alluding to a mix of the Sydney Opera House and Stonehenge.

In fact, Kellogg prioritized durability, solidity, and intricacy, a vision reinforced by his collaboration with visionary clients, using high-quality materials like copper and concrete.

Sculpted over 30 years, the Kellogg Doolittle estate in Joshua Tree California is probably the greatest example of organic architecture signed by Kellogg.

“Logan?” Your voice broke through the noise, the sound of machine guns and children screaming and a bomb dropped in the distance but he heard you. Everything was disjointed, every war, just or unjust melded into others. Nazi’s shot by WWI German troups, a confederate soldier beheading a English man, Indigenous tribes fighting alongside terrorists, a confusing group to say the least. Still, he heard you. “Logan!” You, standing in the middle of it all in a modest pink dress. You, pristine as if you were teaching a class but surrounded by blood and bodies and murdered innocents. You, who when he blinked, was covered in blood but not from bullets or beyonets or gunned up airplanes, but slashed up like Freddy Kruger was hoping his way into his dream. You were holding your stomach, scrambling to keep your guts inside you. He was trying to reach you, but hands pulled him back. He couldn’t see faces, but Logan knew they were the hands of all those he’d killed. In front of him, separating Logan from you now, were other. Scott, Charles, Jean, everyone who’d told him to stay away from you. They aren’t helping you, they aren’t even trying. Instead, they just admonish Logan. “See what you've done?” Jean asks, and Logan tries to push through. “She’s bleeding! She needs help!” He screams and screams, watching as you fall to your knees, blood beginning to spill out your mouth. “I need to help her!” Charles now. “I think you’ve done enough.” “No! I didn’t hurt her! I’d never hurt her! Please, Dolly! Dolly I’m coming!” Scott, for some reason without his glasses. “We knew this would happen, we knew you couldn’t be trusted, Logan.” "I wouldn't hurt her! I protect her!" You’ve collapsed, convulsing on the ground as you shout his name over and over again. Logan screams for your, using all his strength to try and get away, to help you, get you out of the war zone and to help, but the weight of the hands around him are too much. They pull and gasps and voices moan in agony behind him. They pull him away from you.

This might be a bit longer of a series than TWW but not as long as ROF. Maybe 13-15 chapters?

Wednesday, November 6: Orden Ogan, "Fields of Sorrow"

Orden Ogan had a full grasp on their craft by the time they recorded Gunmen, and “Fields of Sorrow” epitomized their approach by going full-on bombastic and semi-symphonic power metal.  The sound was enveloping to the point of borderline overwhelming, though Sebastian Levermann modulated his vocals so they were suitably dramatic but not overly histrionic.  There wasn’t really anything to the track that hadn’t been done several million times already by several million other bands, but Orden Ogan showed confidence in their execution and played with an authority that felt earned.

will the hybe x ador crap ever just vanish? its staining a lot of groups potentials, i dont get the reason bc songs can be similar yet still different from each other otherwise its free pr stunt imho. just seems such a waste of why bother putting the group ILLIT together and not do something different entirely.

there's the bittersweet taste i am lowkey feeling here. like sure, it can vanish right away in some time but the issue is really way beyond the concept, you know? i saw that some people in the higher-ups in the corporation really dislike min heejin, like the pure envy, it's really there! and these people will do anything to kick her out! i see these people thinking mhj did mistake, when in reality, she didn't. it was her best move in this circumstances.

the bittersweetness, i believe, is for the i'll-it members in the future. not for newjeans, i believe they'll stay. there can be a turning point that can make min heejin staying under the corporation but it's foggy and .. honestly, i am not getting the words right even in english, so.. i believe it's yet to be revealed. someone can depart, i see it for sure, and only then it will vanish somehow, but i am unsure if it'll be min heejin like before.
