[ad_1] GG News Bureau Bhubaneswar, 25th Oct. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Friday that the state has successfully achieved its “Zero Casualty Mission” in the wake of Cyclone Dana, which made landfall on Thursday night. There have been no reports of human loss or injury, a significant accomplishment for the state amidst severe weather conditions. During a morning review of the cyclone’s impact, Majhi confirmed, “There is no report of any death of any human life. Our zero casualty mission has been successful with the cooperation of everyone.” The government had set the ambitious target of “Zero Casualty” ahead of the cyclone’s formation in the Bay of Bengal and worked diligently to ensure this outcome. The Chief Minister revealed that approximately six lakh people were evacuated to safety, preventing potential loss of life. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved, including ministers, MLAs, NDRF, ODRAF, Fire Service, Odisha Police, social activists, and the media. “By the grace of Lord Jagannath and cooperation of all, the government has succeeded in saving human lives,” he stated. Majhi assured that all blocked roads due to uprooted trees would be cleared by 1 PM on Friday, as rescue teams had already begun working as soon as the wind intensity decreased on Thursday night. He acknowledged that many electrical installations, including poles and transformers, had been damaged, but efforts were underway to restore power. “By 6 PM on Friday, electricity will be restored in all areas, including the worst-hit Kendrapara, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts,” he said. Additionally, Majhi reported that 1,600 newborns and their mothers are in good health. The state government evacuated 4,431 pregnant women to nearby healthcare centers, where 1,600 babies were born. Majhi confirmed that the wind speed of the cyclone has diminished and that the system is now moving towards Anandapur in Keonjhar district, subsequently expected to affect Dhenkanal and Angul districts.
