i‘ve recently been replaying octopath traveller. i play it for fun and because i love the music and visuals. so i will rank the main characters, based on how likeable they are (8 being the worst and 1 being the best):

8. cyrus - i really hate him. he is too perfect and just unlikeable. i‘m constantly rolling my eyes when playing through his story.

7. therion - too edgy and cliché. he is just boring. and he forces me to look up rhyming slang.

6. olberic - i do have a soft spot for him. i just like stories about good guys just trying to do good. and i like seeing an older knight who has a good heart. that said, he is obviously very cliché.

5. haanit - i quite like her. she feels down to earth and genuine. my only issue with her is that i sometimes struggle to understand her old-timey english.

4. ophilia: i like ophilia, she feels grounded and hopeful. she is not arrogant and truly cares about her family. she is a bit more boring than the next ones though.

3. alfyn: this one is a personal bias. i usually play as him because he is the most likeable male character. i feel like he works quite well as a main character, since his goal is going out into the world and helping people. he seems humble and caring and i like how his story doesn‘t involve any world-threatening monsters

2. tressa: what i love about tressa is her optimism and adventurousness. i like that her story feels quite happy. i do not like the capitalism aspect of it, but i love how enthusiastic she is

1. primrose: she is the best character. her story feels like no other tale i have seen in any rpg so far. and her enemies are truly horrible and it feels so good to kill them.

Forgot about those character polls I did but just remembered them and here's the results:

Clerics: Ophilia 23% vs Temenos 77%

Scholars: Cyrus 57% vs Osvald 43%

Merchants: Tressa 27% vs Partitio 73%

Warriors: Olberic 38% vs Hikari 62%

Dancers: Primrose 66% vs Agnea 34%

Apothecaries: Alfyn 46% vs Castti 54%

Thieves: Therion 56% vs Throné 44%

Hunters: H'aanit 51% vs Ochette 49%

Personal opinions that no one wanted or asked for: why does Ochette have 49%?? Her character is so bad, I genuinely can't understand how anyone likes her. Also surprised that Therion beat Throné cause personally everything I've seen comparing the two has said Throné is much better.

5 years with one of my favourite games!! time passes so quickly, i can still remember playing the demo as therion & having to stop myself because i was impatient for the rest to come out🫢can't wait to see where it goes from here ^^
