OC Sunday, so here we go.

Whoever in the hell thought CX-2 was a good babysitter for Tech's preschool aged daughter was off their rocker.

But it's Mt Tantiss, so everyone's insane.

Anyway, CX-2/CT-9949/Roak is on Tantiss, and finds himself guarding both Omega and Meg, since there's no need to hunt them down in this version.

He's still a sociopathic, violent, misogynistic, miserable piece of garbage, but those plot bunnies took off and I'm following them, folks.

Also we might see a female CX trooper in the next chapter or so, I ain't talking!

Clone OCs are taking over my brain again (in other similarly shocking news, water is wet) so I decided to do a silly little sketch of one.

Well, the only other one I've (sort of kind of) made besides Shrieks. I just couldn't figure out his face, I've only ever drawn him with a helmet even though I know exactly the kind of hair he has. (I feel a bit worried with the hair I gave him and the small face tattoo that he resembles Tup too much, but it was an honest coincidence I swear 🥺 maybe he and Tup were friends as cadets and grew matching hair? Who knows! Not me. I just love undercuts and man buns 😶)

Known to some of his brothers as "ARC trooper with the emptiest head in GAR" (his only brain cell is being kept safe by Shrieks), Jain is both a fierce fighter and an absolute sweetheart.

(and, apparently according to my phone, a valid slut 🫢 I guess he likes to have fun on shore leave, and I won't judge)

Jain is always the first to volunteer on every high-risk mission. It's not that he has a death wish, he does it to "enjoy the thrill" and also to protect his brothers as much as possible. He is incapable of feeling fear, and it's one of the reasons he picks the most high-risk suicide missions; because he knows he won't freeze in any situation.

He prefers heavy weaponry, and in battle situations, he will not back down until Shrieks or Nem gives the order.

The nickname "the emptiest head in GAR" refers to the fact that Jain is not as smart as most of his brothers. While this originated as an insult, the man himself found it funny, and after proving his skill in battle multiple times, some brothers began turning the "emptiest head" into a compliment, claiming that "Jain's head must be empty to store all that kriffing bravery".

Jain is Shrieks's right hand man and a dear friend to Nem. He has immense respect in them, having dyed a few strands of his hair pink to honor the general. (the similar hairstyle is, again, a pure coincidence) He has also Nem's facial marking tattooed to his left cheek (after asking if it is culturally okay, of course) as a sign of loyalty.

A home by the shore. Fishing nets and harpoon spears. The soothing sound of the waves. Healing scars, slowly fading into memories and reminders. The patter of feet. The barks of a hound. Comforting touches when the quiet seems too loud. Whittled, wooden weapons that double as a club. The smell of salt and the sensation of bliss as you float in calm waters. A warm embrace and whispers of love after a nightmare. That feeling of security, of feeling at peace with yourself and your second chance at life. That feeling of knowing you are not who you once were and that you are loved unconditionally.

Crosshair & Tay:

- They've got a little place by the shore (that they occasionally share with Tech and his family when they come to visit) and make a living as fishermen - Tay is an amphibious species and loves being in the water and Crosshair's good sight helps sees past the glare of the sun against the waves - Crosshair has taken up knitting as a pastime (he finds it relaxing and a way to practice using his hands again) while Tay often spends his time fishing or helping around Pabu wherever he can - Took them a while to settle down and get used to the civilian life after everything that they'd been through - Crosshair was able to work through it first because he had the support of his family to help him out and in turn, he was able to help Tay'kaa get through it as well - Somehow they're parents who spoil Akona nearly rotten while still being very overprotective of her (though Tay does more of the former and Crosshair does more of the latter) - Usually have a trail of kiddos following after them around the island like ducklings - Crosshair always encourages them to start up shit and Tay never really says no to any of them - and people find this ironic since they don't seem like "kid people"

Akona-Mae:

- Was found by Crosshair when he went on a relief mission with Echo to help and because Tay was sick at home and Crosshair didn't want to catch what he had (that and he arguably missed hanging with Echo) - She takes after Crosshair a LOT (especially how he was like as a kid) and as a result, her Uncles all have a gut-reaction/instinct to look after her - She's got a shell collection, a blue tooka doll Crosshair made for her that she named 'Dae' (after her Apá), and has a harpoon that Tay gave her but she's not allowed to have an actual blaster just yet (not until she's 10 at least) - She loves Sami (she thinks that she's cool and they're both Pantorans) and she's close with Rangi (they share their collections with each other) and Tikan (who she likes to rough house with every now and then) - Loves Jung, as he's selectively mute and can communicate with her better than most, and also loves her Uncle Hunter because he whittled her a wooden firepuncher - Character Inspo: My Mom's cat named Snoopy, Alluka Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter), Muffin Heeler (Bluey), Louise Belcher (Bob's Burgers)

OC Sunday: Mic Dhorhil, the grumpiest bartender on Coruscant

A jaded Devaronian bartender with a complicated relationship to the Pyke syndicate. He absolutely judges your drink order. Don’t be fooled by his sardonic and guarded exterior: he might keep a slugthrower behind the bar (just in case), but he feeds the stray tooka who lives in the alley behind 79’s every night after he closes.

The face of a man who just had to clean up the used condoms from the floor of the refreshers at 79's. He is begging people, for the love of the Force, to use the trash compactor. Art by me 🩵

Physical characteristics

Personal history: 

Mic was born and raised on Oba Diah, the son of single mom Branna Dhorhil. He never met his father, and Branna never talked about him. When Mic started secondary school, he met Draig, the young Zabrak who would become his lifelong best friend. Draig was small for his age, and he had lost his mother very suddenly only a few months before. Because of this, an older bully made the mistake of thinking he would be an easy target. Unfortunately for the bully, Mic was not small for his age. He stepped in and kicked the bully’s ass, with the result that both Mic and Draig were suspended.

Draig was distraught at the prospect of having to tell his father, Oisin, what had happened, when Oisin was already dealing with so much following the death of his wife. Branna was working the night shift at the time, so she was home. She recognized Draig immediately, as she worked with Oisin at the Oba Diah spaceport. She patched up the boys and got them a snack, then commed Oisin to explain what had happened. Oisin came to collect Draig, and they both stayed for dinner.

From that point on, the boys were inseparable, and the Dhorhil house was basically Draig’s second home. They formed a short-lived punk band, The Horny Devils, which played shows in Oisin’s garage once a week for their legions of adoring fan (it was Branna. Branna was their legions of adoring fan).

When Mic and Draig were in their second year of secondary school, Oisin collapsed at work. He was diagnosed with an aggressive illness, and the treatment was prohibitively expensive due to the Pyke syndicate’s monopoly on all medical goods and supplies on Oba Diah. The boys, being enterprising teens with endless self-confidence and very little impulse control, hatched a plan to break into the Pyke compound and steal the medication.

It did not go well.

They made it out, barely. They managed to get the medication and take it to Oisin, but unfortunately, they also got caught on security holovids. The Pykes, being the Pykes, didn’t take too kindly to being robbed by a couple of punk kids, and they put a bounty on both boys. The first hunter that found them cornered them in the Dhorhils’ home. Draig lost an eye to the hunter’s vibroblade before Branna managed to disarm and kill the bounty hunter with his own knife. 

They fled Oba Diah that night. Branna smuggled Oisin and the boys into the Oba Diah spaceport and stole a shuttle, then took them all to Coruscant to disappear and start over in the lower levels. Branna never told Oisin or the boys what she did to smooth things over with the Pykes, but eventually, the bounty was lifted. Nevertheless, Mic and Draig continued to give the Pykes a wide berth.

Mic started working as a busboy to help Branna while they struggled financially. Eventually, he worked his way up to become a bartender, crafting cocktails in some of the hottest bars in the upper levels. He dreamed of starting his own traditional Devaronian pub, and to help save money for that goal, he started working the closing shift at 79’s every night after he finished up at his regular job. Eventually, he scraped together the funds to start his own place in the Entertainment District, but he continued to work the closing shift at 79’s to make ends meet. 

Personality:

In the dictionary, next to the definition of “done,” you will find the above holo of Mic. That being said, he has a spectacularly long fuse. He doesn’t tolerate harassment or bullies, and the fastest way to find out what he looks like when he’s annoyed is to fuck with his customers, coworkers, or family (and he includes Oisin and Draig in that category). He’s reserved and quiet, but he has a wicked sense of humor, if you’re lucky enough to be able to overhear his commentary. 

He has Opinions™ about certain drinks, and he might not say them out loud, but you can feel the judgment if you come in and order a Green Zygerrian (like he just keeps green cream on hand, what the kriff do you think this is, a dairy?).

Aside from his family, Mic tends to hold people at a distance. It takes a long time to gain his trust, and even longer for him to feel truly comfortable around someone. Having witnessed how his father’s absence impacted Branna, Mic is very, very guarded about romance. He needs to get to know someone very well and form a strong connection with them before he’ll consider getting physical. But once he’s in? He’s all in. No games, no messing around: he knows what he wants, and he’ll be very upfront about it. He just needs to be sure his prospective partner is on the same page before he lets himself get involved.

Due to his personal history with the crime syndicates (not to mention his family’s nebulous respect for the law), Mic has an innate distrust of authority in general and the police in particular. He keeps a low profile, but when the Corrie Guard comes to 79’s, he’s on full alert. Oddly enough, Commander Fox is one of his favorite customers. Maybe he feels a deep spiritual connection to the Marshal Commander’s exhausted ori’vod energy.

Escalation, as in the rise of a mountain, like the ones that border Estkel City dividing the polarized world of Ga'hah. Buildings climb in an rising pattern as Tah'nyem Ra also finds herself in a pattern of...escalation.
