#Obscure Plush

not really sure how to start this post but basically, i think i've discovered that i might have a rare plush? ever since i was born i've had this green floppy legs lion plush, and every time i go to search him up online to see what type of plush he is, i can find little to nothing about him except for a couple of old images. here's a picture of the one i have for reference:

what is known about him is that he was made by the plush brand Bestever in conjunction with John Doze Studios, he's a part of the Liontoons line and that he was in production since at least 2001. other than that though, little information exists on this guy. the only colours i've seen him be produced in are green and orange, and it's unknown what other colours he exists in. there's a couple of websites that show a few of Bestever's plushies, one of which including a high quality image of their logo:

quite a few people do own him and i'm sure plenty of Liontoons plushies do still exist, but it's just the information about him that is very scarce and it'd be awesome if we knew more about him.

there's another vey similar line of plush toys called 'Orangutoons', which are these furry cartoony orangutans that come in many colours. there's a lot more images that show these plushies, including the fact that they were produced in orange, green, blue, purple, mint, red and white, lavender, pink and rainbow. a few special seasonal ones exist as well.

i do find it interesting how we have wayyy more images of this silly guy than we do the Liontoons plushies. i'm hoping more information is found about them soon!! i'd personally like to see an image of a blue Liontoons plush one day :D

This is a Canada 1991 Hoover Dirt Beastie Plush was pretty cute while also super soft and this plush was bigger than I thought for a vintage plush which is nice since most limited edition company plushies are usually small to medium sized.

This plush had just one tiny string loose with a hole behind the left eye area that shows a little stuffing but I don't mind that since some plushies I collect do have some wear and tear to them.

This plush is 13 inches from the top of the eye stalks to the foot and from the lizard like frills on this plush to the foot.

When I saw images of this plush online this plush seemed mini to me but it was medium size and I know if this plush was made nowadays this plush would have been small or chibi in design with cheap materials that would easily break.

This plush has it's tush tag but not it's hang tag but has both a plastic display dangler near the head area and a plastic hang tag dangler where the hang tag would be.

This plush's eyes are plastic and you can put a candy in this plush's mouth if you want to since this mouth is useable.

The mouth isn't just sewn on but is similar to feeding a Furby with your finger but in plush form.

This plush doesn't make noises or have a commercial too it which is strange to me.

I think a Canadian commercial would have got more people to buy a Hoover vacuum back in 1991 to put this little friend in the ad since the plush's hang tag has a backstory to these creatures.

This plush feels high quality besides that mini rip hole behind the left eye from the previous owner which could have been caused by scissors could be easily sewed back up if you knew how to do that.

This plush is super soft and feels velveteen like.

Like the plush is smooth but lightly furry in texture and the lizard like frills are velveteen soft but are flat without stuffing put in the lizard frills.

The claws on this plush feel cotton like in texture but are flat.

This plush gives me a snail mixed with the Cheesasaurus Rex in design like this plush is like a prehistoric snail dinosaur creature.

I just wish this plush had a tail but without one this plush gives me K&K Games or K&K Sales vibes as a unique looking monster plush.

This plush can wear the Build A Bear sunglasses since they are on the plush's eyes while the Hobby Lobby toy glasses just sit on the nose of the plush and not even near the eyes.

This plush is pretty cute and I will call this plush Bestie and she is pretty neat.

you're fine i didn't have art to post so i didn't log in for a few days. uhhhhhh SwatchThoughts(tm):

they're the head butler ofc, but they're also queen's right-hand-man (gender neutral), her #1 bestie. they know everything about her, even about lancer before the events of ch2. they will literally do anything she asks and anything that will entertain her. it's tiring and they do complain sometimes but they enjoy their work, they know what a kind person she really is and that she's generally a good ruler, so they like to make her happy :)

weirdly competitive. nobody beats them in queen's monthly fruit-smashing competition and if you somehow do, they're a good sport but You Will Not Win Next Month. You Won't.

workaholic. oh god they wear so many hats in the mansion and they're so tired all the time, it's a miracle they get everything done

the color cafe is a regular butler cafe up front and a host club in the back. a handful of the birds, including swatch, can be paid (at quite high rates, swatch especially) to join you for drinks or sweets, flirt with you, cuddle - p much have a sweet and lightly romantic time. you would not believe how much money spamton dumped into the host club back in the day. their undisputed #1 customer even 20 years later

i generally view them as very asexual (demi specifically. + nonbinary) but they still love their host work! it's fun, they like making people happy and playing at being a romantic. and the sweets. they like the sweets just as much 🍰

very polite but short tempered 😔 they're quick to rough up people who don't follow the rules or who just personally annoy them/cause chaos, and they always win

they are the tallest swatchling, at 9 feet tall. Beast. good for carrying queen on their broad shoulders though!

their feathers, which are all slightly curly, have a slight iridescence to them that tint, along with accents on their outfit, in accordance to their mood or the paint they've been drinking . the default is pink

dressed to the nines 24/7. even on their time off.

they adore their birds. they spawned each and every single one of them (the ones in their own flock that work for queen, anyway), they know all their names even when everyone's the same color and they remember what's going on in their lives. which is impressive when there's at least a couple hundred of them ;;;

their favorite flavor of paint is dusty lilac

their favorite normal flavor is strawberry

as an art program they not only create things for lightners but also for queen ! they design a lot of things for her with her input, and with as quickly as they can draw things directly into the dark world they're always working on things for her, while dressing up their cafe for themed events in-between.

My Primadonna [ECHO] Yootooz finally arrived!

I ordered as soon as it was announced, and it was worth the wait.

The antennae are bendable, and the textures are varied in fun ways (not sure to what level this is expected, as this is my first Yootooz plush). I like pressing the on/off button, it almost feels like pressing an actual button, but softer material than plastic, obviously.

Definitely the highest quality plush that I own by far, but I'm not a plushie connoisseur or anything. I just get what I like on occasion and never throw anything out so I've accumulated quite a few.

Speaking of which, I need to get back to figuring out where to put her. I'm running out of space for things.
