screams... in search of good books on trauma to recommend to someone i know, and i keep getting so angry. it’s all “ougggghhhhhh we gotta support our veterans, no i’m not gonna mention the victims of their war crimes”, or “i’m dr. mal practice phd and this is what i learned from experimenting on traumatized children”, “you can’t have true restorative justice without forgiving your abuser and hand-holding them through their own healing”, “don’t question that i always refer to the victim as female and the abuser as male, and definitely don’t ask me what i think about trans women!”, “these are 2000 graphic intimate stories that my patients have told me and it’s totally ethical for me to publish them all”, “it’s because they have xyz personality disorder”, “it wasn’t their fault because they were abused too”, SO ON AND SO FORTH... fucking christ, can i find ONE thing to recommend about complex trauma that isn’t just about parents or IPV and doesn’t fucking suck!
