Paranormal Activity (2009)

Paranormal Activity has a brief scene where a display screen is zoomed in on, which flickers very faintly. One scene shows a TV with static running on the set.

The scenes not filmed with a stationary camera are all handheld, with a high likelihood of being disorienting.

Flashing Lights: 2/10. Motion Sickness: 9/10.

TRIGGER WARNING: Characters dealing with the possibility of a demonic presence may be upsetting to some audiences. According to IMDb, one alternate ending depicts a death by suicide.

31 Day Horror Challenge

16. Least favorite horror movie series.

The success over Paranormal Activity still baffles me. There are a number of great low-budget found footage horror films out there (Lake Mungo, for example) but this was the equivalent to watching paint dry. It's baffling that this became as huge as it did although to be fair I bought into the early "scariest film ever made" hype ahead of time as well.
