Truth was, he didn't know who 'Chase' was, or that the enemy wasn't just one man, but two. John watched as she bowed to the blonde man and took her leave to the minibar. He walked over to her as waltzing music started to play. Perfect. He could Waltz. No problem. He cleared his throat.

"Pardon a moi, Madamo-" "I speak English," Valentina cut him off with. He quirked a brow up. She knew how to keep the guys away, thats for sure. "Well, thank god. I was wondering...would you care to dance with me?" She smiled softly at John, and he took her hand and le her back out to the floor. Valentina lifted her arm up and straight away from herself and John held her free hand, pulled her slightly towards him, they bowed to each other and John smirked and they started to dance together. He spun her and she giggled, "Well-You waltz rather good...For and English man." and she was spun yet again, they held hands again, pushed each other away but were still connected by said hands and came together again, repeated this, then mirrored each other by waving their left arms out and then back to the default stance, then out then back, and so on.

John was having a good time. Then he spun her again and dipped her to the side. Valentina came back to him and whispered, "There's two, Johnathan. Two of them." John hummed. "As much as I'd rather not think of it, what do we do?" "...Plan B?" "Agreed." John's back was to her and he scanned the room before having to turn back around to face her again. "What do they look like?" "The one i was dancing with, his callsign's Chase, and the one you were all buddy-buddy with. That's Zap." John snorted. "Zap?" "All his weapons are either electric or he's the hacker of their little missions. Thus, Zap."

John grimaced but then he dipped her again as the song ended and he panted as he gripped onto her for dear life-they hadn't even realized that they had been moving on auto-pilot as they talked. Valentina stared at John for a few seconds too long and he stared back. "...John." "Val." She shook her head and pushed him away. She walked off, forcing the blonde man she had danced with to follow her. John narrowed his eyes as he saw the other one she had described quickly follow too.

"Soap-Ghost-Farah. Get in position. Kate...get the police on the line." He walked away after muttering this into the coms, following Valentina outside, acting like he was going to light a cigar. Valentina caught sight of him and walked over. "Ah...the Englishman with a good waltz..." John chuckled. "Careful, Love. Don't want you inhaling this stuff. Very bad on the virgin lungs." A gunshot went off, no one heard it. No one except Farah, John, and Valentina. The music inside was far too loud. Kate came outside and a security guard, who was tipped off by Kate what was going to happen that night, showed up with a few other cops. Kate spoke quietly and quickly to them. All the cops nodded and picked up the bodies, dragging them away. One stayed behind however and said, "I'm officer De Pont. I have to explain to your father what has gone down, and tell him to keep it all hush hush until the clean up crew gets here, Madam Hernandez. Im very sorry."

Valentina nodded, "If it's for the best." "It is." "My father may not be the greatest man...but he'll keep this under the carpet if he wants his stores to keep growing." "I was a huge asshole because you had just joined, you were so small and yet...one of our best rooks. I Hated that."

Valentina sighed. "I hated the fact i forced myself to grow up so quick...i dont why I tried to be just like my cousins...I thought that they were the fuckin' Best...Guess I was wrong. War isn't all fun with guns." John put a hand on her back and ordered a glass of wine. He handed it to Valentina-she quirked a brow up. "John?" "Just drink." Valentina would take advantage of this-if it wasn't John. She set the glass down and whispered, "John...Im only-"

John nodded. "Good idea." So he let Kate drag him up and then he grabbed Valentina's hand, kissed the knuckles and let her wrap her arm around his and giggled out his name. And So sweetly at that. John walked her out of there, his own head barely holding up on his stiff shoulders. The valet that had driven Valentina there pulled up and asked, "Où aller ?" "Grand Hotel du Palais Royal." The driver nodded and as soon as they were buckled in started the drive. Valentina leaned over to John and murmured, "Your hot." John smiled, putting a a hand on her thigh.

He managed to get the door open and stumble inside, kicking it shut behind him, the sound making Valentina jolt in his arms. He laid Valentina down on the bed, taking a moment to admire her beauty in the moonlight streaming through the window. 'Your damn gone, aintcha John?' he thought to himself.

Not to mention she's still wearing that bloody red dress, the fabric clinging to her curves. He trailed his fingers down her arm, feeling the softness of her skin-where it wasn't scarred anyways. She sighed softly, her eyes fluttering open. "John? whatter you doin', John-" she whispered, her voice thick with sleep and alcohol. "Shh, love," he  murmured, brushing his thumb over her cheek. "I've got you." She smiled up at him, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "I don't want to be alone tonight," she whispered. "You're not alone," he rumbled from deep in his chest, leaning down to press a soft kiss to her forehead. "I'm here." She reached up to cup his face, her hands warm due to the blood rushing into them as she used them drunkenly. John pressed a gentle kiss to her palm before pulling away to stand up. He took off his jacket and shirt, tossed them aside before starting on his boots. Valentina watched him with heavy-lidded eyes, her gaze roaming over his chest and shoulders.

"Like what you see, love?" he teased, hooking his thumbs into the waistband of his pants. She bite her lip, nodding slowly. "Very much," she murmured. But then you came. You who would treat him like a human, you who did got worried when he took too Long on missions. You who saw him as human.

Slowly Gojo had found himself letting you in. His infinity just being able to keep away your physical touch but not your mental one. Not the connection you seemed to craft not the love and care you gave him.

Sorry if this seems repetitive but I haven't been active on social media in yearsss

Is it true that there's a lot of lawlu hate on tiktok and Twitter? I'm so confused because there used to be so much love for the ship back in 2017/2018 from my perspective (Amino era).

The short answer: yes and no. Let me start by saying I'm not the best person to answer this since I purely consume on twitter. I made my personal twitter in 2007 like it's everyone I've ever known irl and has nothing to do with shipping or hobbies and I follow approx 0 accounts related to anime, manga, or lawlu. I just looked up lawlu a few times and browsed and suddenly it's my whole fucking timeline and there’s no going back and now I have a lawlu twitter (This makes me very happy).

So if anyone else has an opinion on this that is more in the community, please feel free to comment away. Otherwise, below are my observations.

First off, there IS a ton of love for the ship. Most of what I see is beautiful art (they got the nsfw ayo), memes, fanfics, and headcanons just like tumblr. There are tons of comments of people swooning over these posts, Lawlu IS one of the most popular OP ships after all.

There's just a vocal minority that are very against the concept of shipping and in that subset there are those who are very against Lawlu. There people out there that will literally list accounts to block that ship lawlu or write lawlu DNI in their bios. The same can be said for other ships, it's not just this one it’s any they deem a ‘pro ship’ (problematic ship) and Lawlu is generally considered one of these. Below as is an example:

The biggest issues I’ve seen with Lawlu are the following 1. luffy is aroace and cant be shipped period 2. law groomed luffy and the age gap is gross. IMO I think most of these people are just infantilizing Luffy as some goofy autistic kid that doesn't know what love and sex are when in reality he's very self-aware and happy does not equal stupid. Also he's 19 he’s not underage. He met Law twice when he was 17, one of which was saving his life as a doctor and Luffy was unconscious most of this time. Let's not forget Luffy's a war criminal kicking the asses of people 4x his age in a pirate world, age doesn't really work the same as irl.

BUTTT Not that any of this matters because you can ship whoever the fuck you what because guess what? It's ~fiction~. I could rant about how people can ship whatever the hell they want all day but I'll save my breath for now. (my opinion of course)

Also there are just mentally ill people who enjoy telling others to kys if you like something they like do. Lawlu shippers are just their chosen target demographic. Creators get foul messages in their inboxes, rude comments, just general hater behavior. Twitter is just a firey cesspool and all fandoms have 'fans' who do nothing but hate. We live in an age of negativity where being a hater is the cool thing to do.

HOWEVER, I see more people posting about why those people are wrong and stupid than the actual negative tweets but maybe that's because I actually support the ship and the algorithm sees that. Not sure how twitter works, nor do I want to know about that dumpster fire there's a reason I came over to tumblr.

As for tiktok, I don't really consume a lot of tiktok so I can't speak on it besides seeing cosplayers and cute animations/art. I'll leave that to the tiktok people to look into.

general observations, differences between here and tumblr (both good and bad), and caveats under the cut

the ability to use html and css in posts is fantastic, and while i do sometimes miss being able to change the formatting with a simple highlight like on tumblr, the added abilities to customize more than makes up for that. i've only used it a bit myself, but plan to use it more going forward, and you can get some fantastic shitposts on your dash because of this. note that only posts are hyper-customizable. blogs themselves aren't as customizable as on tumblr (think the default/mobile theme here)

i think their pro-privacy, anti-algorithm, anti-numbers philosophy is admirable. it's not perfect-- funding is a continual trouble, although they have plans for making it sustainable.

as with all smaller websites, it is a bit of an echo-chamber and has its share of drama and controversy.

the fewer number of people also lead to there being fewer good posts than on here, especially if you have niche interests, but my dash is still quite active, and i have to check it at least once a day to keep up-to-date.

if you edit your original post, all reblogged versions of the post are updated as well.

it has a comprehensive cw system built into posts, more reminiscent of mastodon than tumblr. there is discourse about its use or over-use, but on the whole i think this is a big improvement.

i (thankfully) haven't run into anybody or any post that required blocking or silencing or muting yet, but the options are there and thorough.

related, there is a no-nonsense attitude towards bigotry. i havent run into any bad eggs myself, but from what i've been given to understand they are sniped more or less as soon as they're discovered. there may be moderation issues as the website expands (this is one issue where places split up into smaller groups like mastodon have benefits) but as of right now, it seems to be working just fine, and better than tumblr.

there's no general within-post search for the sake of privacy and to limit harassment opportunities, but unlike tumblr, the tag search is functional. in addition, all posts with tags you've bookmarked show up in a separate, single tab on your dash, in proper chronological, non-algo'd order, which is a good way to discover new people to follow and posts to reblog. this is similar to "your tags" on tumblr, but unlike tumblr, i trust it to work

i haven't used this yet, but sideblogs are able to comment, ask, like, follow, etc, separately. no more "follows from [main url]"

in general, i like the vibes better than pillowfort, the other tumblr replacement site, and its a much more satisfying tumblr replacement than mastodon, because, well, its not like twitter (although i do like mastodon for other reasons).

there are some odd things that differentiate it from tumblr that you have to get used to at best, and can be extremely frustrating at worst:

notes cant be viewed per-post. they're all under your notification tab, chronologically listed. this hasnt been a problem for me, but i understand that this can get messy if you have a lot of followers/notes

if you are not OP, you cannot view others' reblogs. i've found that this is mostly fine, but it does mean you cant dive into the notes to see if anyone has added anything you'd like to reblog instead of the version on your dash. changing this is one of the most requested features. it doesn't seem to conflict with the site's anti-numbers ideals as long as it only lists contentful reblogs (those with additions), so i'm hopeful it will be added.

OP is not notified of tags on reblogs. all comments that are towards OP and not towards your followers belong in the comments. unlike other things in this list, this isn't a downside so much as a neutral difference that has taken me a long time to get used to.

the comments are generally important. reblog chains are still used, but comments (replies) are more functional than they are on tumblr, with proper ability to reply in comment threads and a better UI. they are used more often on cohost than on here, especially if you want to start a convo with OP and others viewing the post. as far as i can tell, everyone can see every comment, unlike the reblogs.

photoset layouts are not as flexible as on tumblr

discovery hasn't been a big issue for me as someone who is primarily a reader/viewer (if anything, the functional tagging system and unified bookmarked tags tab makes it easier), but ive heard that for creators it can be frustrating

i am under the impression that pillowfort is the place to go for specifically fandom posting. more fandom people have been joining cohost though, especially since a bunch of tumblr people joined a couple weeks ago.

i realize this isn't exactly a hard sell, but want people to be aware of potential downsides before creating an account. despite these things, i really do urge you to check it out if youre interested! it's a good place :)

correct me if i’m mistaken, but splatoon just has more female characters in the first place, and lends itself to fem-centered work. personally i think this is great because it is difficult to find media that actually prefers women without being misogynistic or objectifying.

secondly, it’s not a direct inverse to make more fem-centered content. it doesn’t make you a “misandrist” or anything because the vast preference for men and male experiences means that such a bias is completely trite to argue for. even if you did make this kind of content because you think women are more interesting, it goes against the grain and doesn’t actually affect men in any larger scale, while “idk, women are boring and useless, unlike men” definitely does have real life parallels and implications about how society has made the author devalue women.

tl;dr doing the opposite of my post isn’t a bad thing. good luck writing your fic!! i’m not a splatoon fan but i know a lot of them and it seems like a really cool franchise.

ive seen far too many posts reblogged over how certain themes in fiction are good and its typically worded such as "darker themes in fiction is fun and cool etc etc" and its so vague that typically people agree and reblog it. and i dont blame those people because on the surface yes! darker themes in media when handled well are awesome and great and i feel like thats what most people assume when they see those kinda posts!!

but unfortunately, most posts like that are just incest or pedophile freaks that want to feel justification.

its very easy to fall for but once you unfortunately see enough of it, you know. its people who want conformation that they are fine for liking incest and pedophilia but its worded in such a way that on its surface its SEEMS fine. to the unknowing it SEEMS like its just a post like "yeah! when media tackles these topics it can be good!"

or even worse, ive seen posts where it talks about shipping and stuff and how it tries to point fingers at people accusing of homophobia. ive seen like a post like "what, you cant stop me from shipping my silly guys! what you going to do? reach in my head!?" with the op taking a screenshot in the tags that stated along the lines of "yes!! as long as its not illegal :D" and the op turned it into a statement of homophobia since "that is illegal !!!!!" when clearly, that tag was a statement on incest and pedophila

this rise of people making these like delicately worded posts when under it all is an incest and pedophile person is just way too concerning.

all i can think about is that screenshot that is like "fiction doesnt affect reality? it sure seems to be affecting your dick"
