Note: omg im so late... Writing that at 2am when I was supposed to do it yesterday... And in just a few hours I have to do another one... Aaaaa.

The front door opens, making you look up from your phone. Your husband walks in with two bags, which makes you curious. You stand up, following him to the kitchen to take a peak in the bags, only for him to wrap his arms around your waist and spin you. You smile, embracing him back.

He kisses you gently, caressing your cheek and pushing a strand of hair away from your face. He lifts you up a little, making you sit on the on the cupboard. He nuzzles his head against your neck, humming softly.

“You smell divine, dear. Is that a new perfume?„ he asks in a giggle. He always knows when you try something new. You don't answer directly. Instead, you pout and glance over the bags.

“What's in there?„ you ask. His head peeks up, a cunning smile forming on his lips. “Why? Are you curious, little bunny?„ blush quickly makes its way to your cheeks, instinctively making you push him away.

Jumping to have your feet on the ground again, you feverishly shake your head. You can't let him be right, can you?

You can feel his hand going at your low back to lead you toward the living room. “Let me enjoy you. Work is exhausting, but it's been better ever since you are around.„ you know how important you are for him. Without you, his days would be monotonous, without anything beside work. But now that you are here, he is always so excited to get home, like a puppy about to get a treat.

He sits on the sofa, pulling you in his lap as he rests his head on your shoulder. He closes his eyes, squeezing you against him. It makes you quietly chuckle.

His phone rings, but when he sees who it's from, he throws it at the other side of the sofa. “It can wait. For now, I just want to be with you only.„

He is never one to dismiss anyone, but now that he has you, he has to set up boundaries. Once he's home and there's no urgency, everyone could wait.

His gaze scans the room, and he can't help it. He smiles at your decorations and Christmas tree. The two days he spent with you to do it have been worth it. He loves to know you've made it together.

And he knows what he bought will make you happy. Right after making you feel desperate. He is so excited to see your reaction. But for now, he just wants to hold you close and watch silly things over your phone.

And so you two did. For two good hours.

It's only after those two hours that he stands up and gestures for you to follow him. “I know you've been dead curious, and it might be the moment... Perhaps, you'll be so disappointed in me that you'll divorce.„ he jokes. But he still has this little fear deep inside. Even if he knows that would never happen.

He picks a curtain from the bag, only to reveal snowy patterns all over it. And another one with a snowman. And even more with some other scenes and winter themed decor. He even shows some winter and Christmas themed sheets...

An he has been right. You sigh in desperation, feeling like this is all a joke. But once you assimilated what happened and his goofy surprise, you burst in laugher. That is the whole reason why you love him. Just from seeing you so happy about Christmas, he bought all of that.

In a way, he is so careful and attentive to the tiniest of your action and word.

After he places it all over the kitchen table, you run to jump in his arms, wrapping yours around his neck. He catches you, stroking your back gently.

“... Don't ever change. You are the best husband anyone could have.„ you mutter against his chest. You would never change even for someone richer or prettier. You'd stay with him until the end, because he's all that you ever need.

“I know I'm often busy with work, but when I can surprise you, I'd do it. I hope you'll keep loving me through all. Because it definitely won't be the last time I'll do something stupid for you.„

He holds you close to his chest, internally terrified you'd leave, but also in peace to know he's all you ever want.

And he could only want you. No one could love him like you do. He isn't willing to let you go. Not now, not ever.

so guys 🙋🏻‍♀️🌸 i have finished the entire new quest at last and omg 👼🏼 like this was outstanding!! you see, what i really enjoy about star rail is that it gives me similar vibes to hi3 in terms of the darkness in the plot, since hi3 is my favorite hoyo game i always love seeing stuff from it or just similar instances. SO YOU KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS SO HYPED WHEN ACHERON SHOWED UP 🤺 especially with the hi3 story with kiana as the mc being over and although i still love hi3 the most, kiana, mei and bronya, that trio, they were all the best characters together AAAARGHHH I SWEAR AND JUST THE ENTIRE STORY LINE WAS SOOO GOOD, I miss them all together as a trio and especially kiana, the best hoyo MC FOR LIFE. 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷

also 🤠 ^^ that frame with sunday and dr ratio like 😙😙 WAS SO FUNNY I HAD TO SS IT. 🤺

the amount of cutscenes we got to see again was so fun, it felt like watching a movie slowly unfold while you got to be a part of it 🩷 you can tell that hoyoverse gets better and better with each update on whatever game and that the cutscenes are always so well done (i always liked them but the constant upgrades ??? insane) 🙏🏻

+ the acheron one shotting aventurine lmao 🧎🏻‍♀️ it was my favorite though ngl HAHA 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷 no matter how much i like aventurine as a character, MEI OMG MEEEIIIIII 👹🩷 SHE WILL FOREVER BE MY LOVE LIKE I KNOW ITS ACHERON BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEAN !!!!! 🙇🏻‍♀️ LIKE THE CUTSCENE WITH HER HORNS OH MY GOOOD THE NOSTALGIA LIKE YES GO OFF SHOW THEM

also guys, idk but aventurine's boss fight, 🤠 i personally expected more like it was so easy to beat ?! I THOUGHT I WOULD STRUGGLE BUT HE DIED PRETTY QUICKLY BUT ITS FINE, I STILL LIKE HIS CHARACTER 🌸🙋🏻‍♀️. + i was happy hoyoverse showed us his backstory and took their time to flash it out and not gloss over it in idk one/two scenes, but they really took their time with it which was amazing 🩷

also jade looks so cool as well! the design is very pretty and i can't wait to see diamond too, or the rest of the ten stonehearts but they're hyping diamond up so much like another emanator?? yes please, i'm all in🧎🏻‍♀️🩷

this entire quest gave me movie vibes, you were on edge the entire time and even during side quests you had to take, it was still very intense. it actually took me quite a bit to finish it of course since i'm someone who doesn't skip dialog, but it was so worth it and the best way to relax after a long day of moving my body 🩷 just laying in bed, playing while drinking tea!!

what i wanted to say too, guys honestly sunday is not okay HAHAHAHAHAHAH 🌝 I MEAN LIKE you guys🧎🏻‍♀️, that shiver in his voice at times and you can tell he low-key doesn't even know how to handle all of that either, of course, for one he looks like everything is accounted for while in the other, he sounds like he's losing his mind and can we blame him ???? when he went "why did you kill her" and lowkey cussed gallagher out i was like damn 🤠 okay 😏 HAHA + i'm somebody that doesn't think too much about theories, instead i love eagerly waiting for the next patch!! so i'm excited for what's coming 🩷 + robin's song slaps.

last but not least 🤺 you see, gallagher wasn't really somebody i was very interested in, but damn the second he turned dangerous and spicy i went oh my oh hey what's up ?? 😏 giggles HAHA LIKE WHAT IS IT ABOUT MEN WHO ARE JUST SUDDENLY EVIL AND IDK MAYBE HE ISNT COMPLETELY RIGHT AAAAAA OOOOO UUUU WWWWW AAAAA but anyways, 🌸 the last cutscene low-key hurt me like what do you mean sunday gets off screened while i was saving up for him for what? 👹 ever since fuxuan like how can you do this to me + no way they're dead dead 🤠because the last conversation aventurine had with acheron was very important to the next patch i'm pretty sure! 🩷

all in all guys!! 🩷 this quest was beautifully done, it had a lot of hard, dark stuff and it reminded me a lot of hi3, that's why i give it a 10/10, very well done. 🌸🩷

~ so after that Nintendo direct omg where can I begin so much good Mario News omg ;W; Princess Peach Showtime, Peach gets outfits, some Mario RPG footage, and Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door remaster ( I get to see Doopliss 👻in HD) on the switch omg I did NOT see that one coming I was wlhejdlekbwjske aaaaa so excited 🥺💖✨😱I can’t wait to play all these new games next year I’m so hyped 🥺💖✨also included Meta in the last drawing cuz the new Princess Peach game comes out in late March and yeah I included him hehe <3 I really love Peach’s sword and bakery outfits so much and I’m hype to see more in the future hope y’all like these ^^💖✨

ੈ✩‧₊˚ notes: hi! omg part 2 is finally here. ronal is so cute she's just emotionally constipated but with you here, i think she'll be more than fine. also i did not proofread this im just too excited and have no patience whatsoever aaaaa but lmk what you guys think! i love talking to you all!

Ronal is like the calming wind that brushes your skin on a fine day.

You first met her in your Zeykoyu classes where you are trained in common knowledge of healing while you were still avoiding Tonowari. When you first came to the teaching area in the inner area of the island, your eyes were drawn to her figure despite your friends waving over to yours.

She was sitting on the back of her legs alone, eyes gazing at the flora and fauna of the surroundings. At your footsteps and the sound of the plants rustling, her eyes naturally caught up with yours and you found yourself smiling at her. She furrowed her skin above her eyes, glaring at you before she turned away. You blinked and frowned at this in confusion.

It was not long until the first lesson was over. While the Karyu spoke of plants and which can be used to heal or not, your head revolved around the girl who hated you at first sight. As the teacher ended the class and you all said your greetings, you watched the girl quietly leave without looking back at you and others.

One of your friends caught you staring at the girl and nudged your arm.

“Save yourself from being hurt and do not talk to Ronal.”

“What?” You were taken aback by the surprising comment she said and frowned, “That isn’t nice—”

“I mean you can if you want, but out of the goodness and care for you, don’t befriend her. You’ve been staring at her a lot, [Name]. A lot. You’re probably thinking about wanting to make friends with her,” She raised her forehead at you with her all-knowing gaze and mused, “I don’t know if you haven’t noticed yet, but she does not do friends. I wouldn’t be surprised if she hates everyone and wants to be alone more than anything. Didn’t she glare at you a while back?”

After a slight pause, you said, “She did, but we cannot just assume that. Maybe she just couldn’t see me clearly a while ago.” She definitely saw you clearly, but a part of you hoped she didn’t so it would explain why she made a face at you.

Your group of friends awkwardly laughed.

“You’re too nice. But trust us, we know. You are not the first one to befriend her first, after all.” One snorted.

“We tried to talk to Ronal, you know. She was silent, yes, there is nothing wrong with that. But each time we talk to her, there is always a frown on her face. We jokingly asked her why was she so mad at us and she actually got mad at us. Glared at us and everything as she asked why we befriended her then.” Your friend ranted, her face contorted, almost hissing in the bitter memory.

“If she hated being friends with us so much, then she could have told us in the first place! I got mad at what she said and she just stormed off. I should have been the one to storm off!”

She scoffed while your other friends laughed at the outburst of your short-tempered friend. As they console her with words and waved the past off, you were silent in your thoughts full of her.

When you first met her, her lone figure sat stiff and seemed so lonely her back slightly hunched and her head looking around just to not look at the other people of your clan. Her jaw was slightly clenched and her arms covered herself. An aura of grey was around her and her eyes were an ocean-filled blue of sadness.

Your friends told her that she loves being alone but why do you feel like she seems to hate being alone more than anything else?

The night approached fast and it was already late in the evening. You should be asleep by now as you save energy for a swim out tomorrow your father promised you. But you can’t.

How can you sleep when your thoughts are full of Tonowari? You saw him at the centre of your village as you talked and walked with your friends after your class, pushing Ronal to the back of your head. As you laughed, you felt a gaze on you and you raised your head to look at who was staring at you and shouldn’t have.

It was Tonowari. You saw his green eyes and your heart immediately felt heavy as the guilt comes flooding in, weighing it down to the pit of your stomach. It was just a second when you exchanged a glance, but to you, it felt like an hour.

You clenched your jaw and pinched your leg, immediately willing yourself to look away. To look away from the boy you once knew had grown up without you and would continue to grow without you. You force a smile back to your friends, pretending nothing was wrong, that you didn’t feel your walls and resolve crumbling down like sand from a single glimpse of him.

But, oh, Eywa.

He was still as beautiful as you the day you lost him.

You hoped that a walk would clear out your heavy mind and sneaked out of your pod. You had no destination in mind and allowed your feet to walk wherever your it would take you to. You dare not let your heart lead you for fear you might come back to your greed and selfishness.

You found yourself in the inner part of the island a bit farther from where you had your class. There was a small creek, its water crystal clear with tons of rock underneath it. Streaks of purple and blue swam through. Moss covered the rocks and roots of trees everywhere. The soft glow of the moon seeped through the leaves of trees and the bioluminescent plants sprinkled the area in hues of a thousand colours. Animals glimmered as they flew, ran, and swam about.

There, Ronal sat amongst the beauty of Eywa. You stared at her in awe.

She was sat on the edge of the rocks and her legs rested halfway in the water. The front of her hair was braided while the rest of her curly hair was let down onto her back and covered her chest. Dots across her body shined but it was quite dull than the markings of your parents’ and friends’ usual gleam, you noticed.

She was beautiful, you stare breathlessly.

You walked closer and let your presence be known to her. Her head snapped at yours and her tail raised slightly in alarm as she stood up.

“Oel ngati kameie,” You greeted her, bringing your fingers to your forehead and onto her, hoping to calm her down.

She stared at you warily but it was enough for you. “Oel ngati kameie. What are you doing here?” She immediately asked.

“Oh, I could not sleep so I thought walking around would help me.” You explained, deciding not to tell her why you could not sleep. You did not know if she notices but she did not pry. “May I sit beside you?”

She frowned.

“Alright,” She sighed. You smiled widely at that.

You sat beside her half a tail between you two.

“Eywa is beautiful, isn’t She?” You said, not really expecting a reply. You stared at the wonder that surrounds you both. Your toes were submerged in the water and you mindlessly moved your feet side by side. Your arms were by your side, slightly placed behind, supporting your upper body’s weight. There was silence, after that. It wasn’t awkward despite you had talked for the very first time. It was comfortable. Calming.

She was calming, you thought. This moment comforted you. But a thought crossed your head. Would after this moment, you and Ronal would go back to strangers? Would you not have a chance with her to appreciate Eywa’s beauty again in silence? Would you not have a chance to be beside her again?

You didn’t want this to remain a moment. You did not know why but there was a small pinch in your heart imagining that after this, you and she would never have a chance to be like this again.

You turned to her and suddenly introduced yourself and asked hers’ despite knowing her name already. She glanced at you and scoffed.

“I thought your friends told about me already?”

“Oh, you heard that?” You tilted your head to the side. “I’m sorry about them, I’m pretty sure they didn’t mean that.”

“Your voices were too loud. I could hear how they hated me.” Her voice was steady, like someone who was trying to be strong but you could hear how her voice became small towards the end. Her eyes were squinted and her ears were pulled back.

“I don’t think they hated you. I think they were just upset, but not hate.” You began slowly, “Did they do something wrong? They said you hated them, but I don’t think you do.”

She swiftly turned her head to look you in the eye. Her eyes widened and her ears stood up in surprise.

“They do not? How did you know?” You did not know if she was asking you if you knew how they did not hate you or how you knew she was never mad at you in the first place, but you answered her nonetheless.

“They’re too understanding and forgiving. Arguments between us have never lasted long because they understand and forgive each other quickly. They see each other. I think they want to see you too.” You smiled at her. “Besides, you look sad being around us. I’ve seen you take small glances before, you know.”

Her face immediately contorted but you notice the dark hue of her cheeks. You giggled. She let out a small snarl and looked away from you. You had an idea of why she had acted like that and made your friends think she hated them but you wanted to hear it from herself.

“Tell me and help me understand you. Help me understand them to understand you. Let me—us— see you.” You whispered to her and stared into those green eyes that once were full of sadness but now, had a glimmer of hope as she stared into yours as well.

“Why are you doing this? What do you want from me?”

“Does being your friend enough of a reason for you?”

“No, you are lying. You are doing this to hurt me, aren’t you? Embarrass me in front of others?” She stood up and hissed at you. Her face contorted in grief and disbelief that you would do that to her which you were in disbelief yourself because you know that you would never even dare to do that to her. “How dare you—”

You stood up as well and grabbed her shoulders. She tried to hit and push you away and you let her, but you did not let her go. “No! No, Ronal, I am not lying. I swear to Eywa.”

You leaned close to her and you pleaded with the Great Mother inside your head for her to believe you.

Oh, Eywa, you begged, Please help her see my innermost thoughts and the sincerity I have in my soul.

Please let her know everything of me.

Please let her see me.

You thank Eywa for hearing your prayers when you felt her shoulders sag in your hold and stopped struggling.

“I see you.” You leaned your forehead against hers.

She lets you see her.

Under the wide array of thousands of lights, she opened up to you like a flower. She told you of how she cannot express her emotions like the others.

She does not intend to come across as mean and bad to others but she cannot control how she contorts her face naturally, can she? She tried to be silent, hoping that she would not be able to say something that might hurt the others and say she did not mean to.

A long time ago when she was just a young girl, there was a friend of hers, a boy, who she had hurt the most. He most probably thought she was ignoring her and she once remembered him crying in front of her with hurt all over his face, saying how she could think of herself as better than everyone.

She was overwhelmed back then and she could not bring herself to open her mouth for fear that she would worsen things again. So she walked away. She came across his mother and saw her son crying behind her. She hissed at her before running to console her child.

She was hurt and and absolutely terrified. She ran back home and her parents found her almost crying as well.

The next day in the centre of the community, she found her parents and the boy’s parents arguing in front of the Olo’eyktan with the rest of the clan watching around.

You remember the day it happened, you and Tonowari were swimming in the sea, not caring what had happened. Your heart ached at the thought that while you enjoyed yourselves, she was alone hurt and lonely.

“Your child does nothing but hurt! Is this how you teach your child? Teach her to hurt and hurt others one after another?”

“You have no right to say that to my daughter. She does not intend to hurt anyone!”

“Then why does my son cry because of your child? Why do the other children cry because of her? Tell me!”

She remembered the words that were exchanged clearly.

She told you how she could not bear to watch it anymore and ran back to her pod. It scarred her forever that she dare not think about making friends with anyone anymore. Beings friends with her will only hurt others and herself, after all, that was what she believed.

Years later, your friends befriended her. After a long time of loneliness, she caved in too easily but never forget to let down her carelessness. She was grateful that they did not mind her silence and glares that she does not mean.

But when they joked around about her being mad at them, memories of the shame and guilt came rushing back. She did not mean to snap at them but panicked and asked them why had they befriended her. As usual, they took it the wrong way and she ran off before the fight would worsen.

“I thought this time would be different, [Name]. I thought it wouldn’t happen again and it’s all my fault.” She leaned against the crook of your neck and cried. Her sobs bring an ache to your heart like a strong grip that crushes it and you decided that you would never want to hear her cry again. You slowly moved back and forth as you hugged her, comforting her as she let out her emotions for the first time.

“This time will be different, Ronal.” You said, bringing her face in front of yours. You wiped away her tears and assured her. “I’m here for you.”

“I see you.”

The rest was a blur. You could not remember what time or how you got home nor what the Kayu spoke as he taught your group. Time went by fast and you stood there with Ronal and your group of friends. One stared at her warily while the others stared at her in curiosity.

Ronal frowned and you could feel her panic rising. You grabbed her hand and held it. You squeezed her hand and smiled softly at her. You saw the frown ease a bit and from then on, you let her do the talking.

It was not like you did not care what happens next. You kept an ear out for what they were saying and you were ready to intervene if needed, but you trusted Ronal and your friends enough.

You stared at the plants that surrounded you all and closed your eyes. The gentle breeze brushed against your skin, its freshness almost tickling you. It swayed softly, its whisper almost lulling you to sleep. You could hear the plants’ rustles and feel the air inside you as you inhaled and exhaled. Your hair fluttered from its soft sweeps and you let out a small hum.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I really thought you hated us.” You heard your friend say.

“No, it was reasonable that you thought of it that way. I am sorry for making you upset.” You opened your eyes at Ronal’s voice.

“No. Do not be sorry. Do not be sorry for things you cannot control.” Another said.

“But I am sorry—”

“I am going to cut you all because I know that this will end up with never-ending apologies.” Your sensible and rational friend said. You almost let out a giggle at how true it was. “We understand, Ronal. You cannot control your expressions and outburst that day and our friend cannot control hers as well. We ended that day in a bad situation and I know that we all feel sorry for it.”

“We see you, Ronal.”

“Yeah, we see you! Thank you for telling us because if you hadn’t, we would live the rest of our lives thing you completely hate us and wonder what we did wrong.”

“I see you all, as well.” Her jaw was clenched, trying her best not to frown or glare at them as she straightened her back. Her face did not look mean compared to before, but if you had not known better, you would think that she was annoyed at you all. But you and the others knew better, she was most likely overwhelmed by the positive outcome. You squeezed her hand once more.

The group told you both that they will go out first and leave you two be, knowing that Ronal needed her space and perhaps talk to you.

When you two could not see their figures anymore, you turned to her and smiled so widely. You slightly raised her hands that you held. “I am so happy for you!”

You were so happy for her. Proud, even, because you could not imagine how much courage she must have taken to talk with others again, much less befriend others herself, but she did it.

She stared at your eyes and you let go of your hand to fondle your face. The ends of her lips raised so slightly you didn’t would notice it had you not been this close to her. Her markings shone and its glow was brighter than the last time. She leaned her forehead against yours and you could feel her soft breaths on your lips.

She introduced herself to you and you are reminded of how she never introduced herself properly last night. You say yours.

“I see you, [Name].” She says.

“I see you, Ronal.”

“Thank you for seeing me. Thank you.” She whispers breathlessly. You squeezed her hand for the third time.

Like the wind on a fine day, she is calming. Like its breeze that brushes against your skin, her caresses on you are soft. Like its freshness, her presence fills you with coolness just enough to soothe. Like its whisper, her voice comforts you and almost lulls you to sleep.

Like the wind, Ronal is calming.

TIME LOOP OMG OMG I hope all the creative writing juices stay fresh for the entire writing process (lol). Time loop stories where a character tries so so desperately to change destiny and save their loved one always hit me so hard :( I’m so excited to see how you’ll write about suguru and reader in the story 🫂 good luck and take care !!

AAAAA THANK YOU ANON 🥺🥺🥺 i appreciate the encouragement soso much <333 TIME LOOP STORIES ALWAYS HIT ME SO HARD TOOOO…….. this one will probably be angsty and prose-heavy but i do want it to feel . dino beganovic - okayyy soooo. this and paul's will go kinda in the same direction… like i was not surprised to see him act not like super happily lol. i understand! when around fans or just people he doesn't know too well, he was not very excited. but when he was talking to jamie (ollie's... idk what he is? manager ish?), he was that cute happy self he can be! but most of the time, it was the dino we get to see in most prema videos from this year (like the "how well do you know your teammates" one) where he's just…. idk :/ dont blame him tho, im sure he's a great guy once you get to know him!!

gabriele mini - honestly i feel like i barely saw him, except when he and his gf were leaving 😭 welp. but he seemed happy to carry around his trophy!!

arvid lindblad - saw him already on thursday and was shocked both because i couldn't believe my eyes (it's him!! he actually exists!!!!!) and bcs he was much shorter than i had anticipated 😭 sorry arvid

sami meguetounif - i didn't see him around a lot but i saw him on the friday helping his team pack up the tent (carrying big things and such), while all other drivers seemed to not really care (from what i could see)(not just trident, but all teams). respect !!!!!!

tim tramnitz - i knew he was tall but he looked even taller irl!!!! i was so shocked, i felt so tiny

ollie goethe - seemed really happy and lowkey surprised when fans wanted to take pics with him 🥺 had a terrible haircut tho lmao i felt so bad for him... but he seemed so sweet all weekend!!! rlly wish i had talked to him aaaaaa

sebastian montoya - saw him around a lot talking to all kinds of drivers, seems very social butterfly-y :) he seemed very happy after the feature, and he seemed to definitely bring up pepe's mood too because they were talking and joking around for a long time 🥺 his sister (paulina) is also even more gorgeous irl omfg i didn't even think that would be possible…. like we always talk about how amazing she looks in pics but she was so so gorgeous irl (sadly didn't get to see her interact with nikita but 💔 i'll live ig)

luke browning - saw him tons and !! why is he so handsome ?!?!?!! genuinely fell in love all over again. what even. like i keep constantly thinking back to the eye contact we shared and im just. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 seemed sweet with fans too, not super energetic but agreed to pics and such. wish i had shown him my browning bracelet or asked him to sign my sm shirt but i was too shy 💔

paul aron - the driver i think most ppl are gonna read and ignore all other drivers lol. i only saw him on the friday and… well….. i wasnt surprised because i had not expected him to be the most open and excited etc. 🤷‍♀️ like he did agree to take pics and such! he put on a little smile for the fans! but there was nothing extra, which i understand. i think we all know the kind of expression he puts on and how "neutral" he looks at most times? like, when he's not around a close friend etc then he seems a little cold. to me, i feel like it just makes his smiles much more valuable in some way!! he wasnt very smiley even with karl or ralf, ig maybe he was focused on qualifying, but he didnt give anything extra and i dont blame him for that. still owns my heart !!!! <33 and i think that the difference from dino is that he seemed more focused and more ig neutral than cold like dino. paul didnt seem neither happy nor mad etc, just blank. 😌 (but god did he look SO GOOD, his hair was so light and my heart wanted to jump out of my chest istg. he looked so so good that i was too shy to even look too much at him 😭)

Okay so I'm just about to start part 3 age of fire of adofn and I have SO MANY THOUGHTS. Not even half way through yet but omg Samantha Shannon you have done it again.

First I absolutely love the Priory plotline in the South with Tunuva, Esbar and Siyu. I love sapphic romances with all my heart and especially with representation for older women. Give me two middle aged women loving each other fuck yeah !!!! I adore how it tackles how some people lose faith in their religion when they feel lost / disconnected to it. Of course some sisters of the Priory, especially the younger ones or ones who have been away from the tree for a long time would not see the point in it anymore as they have not seen the danger the world could be in. Very excited to see how Esbar is going to be as the Prioress as I'm assuming that Saghul has finally kicked the bucket judging by the last scene w Tuva and just generally how she will deal with the draconic plague and the whole general disruption she's going to have to deal w so early in her time as the Prioress and how things will change with her in charge.

Glorian my absolute beloved, I want to shield her from everything that is wrong in the world. Her and Sabran's relationship is so unbelievably tragic I am so insane about them and the fact they will never get to make up and Glorian won't ever know how much her mother truly loves her because she will forever live in her mind as the cold queen. Sabran had an uphill battle to climb when she became queen and while her reign marked the end of the century of discontent, she would always be compared to the three that came before her because the wound was still so fresh and she knew Glorian would also be subjected to that and just wanted to prepare her for it but all Glorian wanted was to know that her mother loved her like her father did and I just ugh. Also I love her relationship w her dad, they are so cute and it's such a nice contrast in how the two parents were raised / their environments. Where he wants to show affection to Glorian and ensure she doesn't ever question that she is loved, Sabran wants to make sure she can survive the courts even at the cost of their relationship. IT'S ALL JUST SUCH GOOD CHARACTISATION !!!

And I love her friendship with Wulf, they are so cute especially with the sparring match and I know from the Priory that he holds like a high position in her court as a knight or smth so really excited to see how their relationship develops following Glorian's coronation.

DUMAI !!!! GOD I LOVE HOW WE GET A LOOK AT THE POLITICS AND CELEBRATIONS OF SEIIKI MORE HERE!!! Dumai is my favourite lesbian absolutely love her so much. Watching her traverse the court tensions as everyone's eyes are on her and she has few allies that actually want to see her on the throne is soooo good. And her being the first dragonrider in centuries !!! That's my girl !!! I wonder if this is the start of like the dragonriding training & the sea guard being founded as seen in Priory w Tané since the long haired comet is on its way and I believe that's what causes the Seiikinese dragons to be more powerful rather than the fire wyrms if I'm remembering how their magic works right but I could be wrong lol.

Anyway I'm gonna get back to reading, will update on my progress again (at some point)

god yes the priory plotline with esbar and tunuva is SO good. I absolutely love those two, they're such an enduring and loving couple with such a strong bond but it's also so nice to see the struggles they go through. I love seeing their differences especially when it comes to siyu and how they deal with that. it's also especially interesting seeing how the priory functioned before the dragons came back and how some of the girls were even starting to doubt what they were training for because it had been so long since the founding. it's a very understandable and interesting glimpse into things compared to how we see the priory in ead's time.

GLORIAN IS MY BABY OH MY GOD. I love her so much. sooooo much. my darling. my child. she deserves the world. her and sabran's relationship is SO tragic because you can understand exactly why sabran is the way she is with glorian. she bore an impossible weight of bringing inys out of the darkness it had fallen under during the rule of her predecessors at such a young age and she also had the burden of trying to ensure things didn't fall back into that darkness after her reign. she wanted glorian to be prepared but that led to glorian feeling as though she was never good enough for her mother. her father is soooo sweet her relationship with him is so dear, but in a way it's also understandable why he's able to be the favored parent with her. she barely ever sees him since he has to rule his own country most of the year so it's far easier to be the loving, light-hearted parent when you only ever see your kid once a year or so compared to being the parent that actually has to properly raise them. and it also like you said really shows the difference in her parents upbringing. sabran has suffered from the generational trickle down of abuse while bardholt didn't have the same struggles. you're so right it's just such incredible characterization and oughhh my poor baby glorian suffers because of it.

wulf and glorian's relationship is one of my favorite dynamics in the entire book. you'll understand why as the story progresses but god I just love their friendship so much. they're so dear to each other and have such a sweet, trusting relationship. I can't wait for you to see where things go with the two of them.

DUMAI YESSSS I absolutely adored getting to see so much of Seiiki's politics in this one. dumai is in such a tragic position because she never wanted any of this in the first place but she has to suddenly play these royal games for the sake of the entire country. all she ever wanted was to become the maiden officiant of the temple but suddenly she has to be a princess and try to prevent her father from being overthrown. I absolutely can't wait for you to see more of what dumai gets up to because the second half of her story is really where things get interesting with her (and some other characters in her story will become veryyyy important very soon you'll see what I mean)
