For the past week, I have been nonstop reading @uhohbestie’s fic “There Are Monsters Nearby,” and I am PROUD to say that, after only six days, I’ve finished 20 chapters as of posting this. Wow, this. This was absolutely fantastic omg. The writing in this was so good and I loved the tidbits of animation we got, like when Mario and 4 were picking up the pages to clean! This was somehow brilliant, and this is coming from a long-time viewer.

It' crazy's awesome that they brought Wolfychu back to do some lines this episode, and I was right about the Waggy cameo from Shadow (YES!). Also, EVAN! You make the cover of the manga? It looks SO GOOD, dude!! As always, great work with the writing on your end 👏

I've already mentioned Melony but we have to talk about the boys. Both Mario and 4 had good intentions to help their friend out. "I would do anything to not lose my friends" and that's exactly what 4 did. The algorithm has been affecting him so much that he didn't want Melony to go through it either. So, he went overboard with the crazy advertising and such, but he still cared for his friend. And a touch of self-doubt and insecurity from IGBP is back because he thought he wasn't doing enough. What good of a friend is he if he can't help out? The savior complex in him would say that he isn't good enough to help Melony, to "save" her from the low viewer retention. That he isn't enough, so he went desperate to have anyone take a copy of the manga. This isn't just about selling a book, it's that he's worth the friendships he has and they can always come to him if they need anything.

He doesn't want to lose them.

Ofc Mario cares so much about 4, they've known each other for years. Best of friends. If anything, Mario would know everything's not fine with 4's actions and thoughts in general. It's why the line, "SMG4, you're better than this! You've done enough damage" from Mario to 4 hits so hard. 4 was back to the "None of you understand the work I do" moment from Mar10, relapsing, and Mario needed to remind 4 of his true self, the one that cared for his friends without perfections. That instead of helping as 4 sees it, 4 was hurting Melony unintentionally, and he has to open his eyes to see that. Two sides, indeed.

Curious that the episode ended with the not "go cuckoo crazy" lesson instead of what 4 said. Goop!4 would eventually happen, bc at this point, yes. But what Mario said is exactly what 4's mindset is rn. 4 is bottling up his emotions and trauma and as long as he doesn't think about it for too long, everything's fine. As long as he doesn't reach that breakpoint, he's fine. In some way, he learned his lesson after IGBP but not quite. For one, he still doubts himself with the guilt of IGBP on top of it. And two, nothing is letting him move on from his trauma. His in-universe audience isn't letting him, Puzzles during WOTFI wasn't letting him, the memories he's been suppressing wasn't enough.

Why does he go through the extreme? Bc he thinks that it would solve everything for him. Like how he locked Puzzles in prison, thinking that Puzzles would remain there when we all know a prison escape is bound to happen. Like the Meme Factory itself was an elaborate trap. Whatever it takes to protect himself emotionally, as he's under the line from having a meltdown, he's fine. But what is that line? What is his breaking point? The thing is he wouldn't known, as shown in this episode, thinking he would still fix it. Everything's fine, he's fine.

And y'know what the cherry on top is? That, other than 4 and Mario enjoying the manga, Boopkins and Luigi were the first to be interested in Melony's creation, regardless of popularity. Very representative of Kevin irl and the deeper significance of IGBP.

....whoops sorry, I went on rambling for too long. I mean, c'mon, you should know the drill by now *points at bio*. If anything, this episode is the biggest piece of evidence for the goop!4 theory, I'm sure our local co-CEO of the theory Funkii (hey moot!) and other goop!4 enthusiasts would agree, YESSIR. Overall, this was such a sweet episode and I can't wait for more. That's all from me, and remember: numbers always go first!

Can I share this silly scenario that's been rotating in my mind?

So, MC has a sort of signal when they're up for free use in the HoL, they wear a black choker around their neck, and usually wear their hair up so the brothers can see it. So the brothers have kinda been Pavlovian conditioned into getting excited whenever MC has that combination of choker and hair up.

Somehow, Diavolo learns about this. He trolls the brothers by giving MC a fancy choker to wear at the next fancy event at the demon lord's castle. The brothers spend the entire event completely frustrated, and only get more frustrated when Diavolo insists MC spends the night at the castle.

"Sonic as the Moon" propaganda grows but BESIDES THAT...

I talk about Sonic and Shadow a lot but Knuckles has almost always been my favorite Sonic character. So the whole annual showing him just thinking about his life and how grateful he is for his purpose, his friends, etc. just.... that shit hitting. I love when they use quiet moments to show us the type of character Knuckles is, it's just so fucking good. And I loved him comparing himself to Sonic and acknowledging that despite his life not being full as many adventures, he's still lived fruitfully. Like omg idk guys we Knuckles fans get crumbs and I'm just so happy...

And don't even get me started on the four them sitting together at the end. I'm just htnkjerfmwdlofri. For my fic, part of why I'm excited for chapter 19 is because it's going to have Tails, Knuckles and Amy having bit of a talk... And I just love these four together so much that putting them in a situation where Sonic isn't acting right HURTS, so reading this portion of the annual just had me smiling. The front door opens, making you look up from your phone. Your husband walks in with two bags, which makes you curious. You stand up, following him to the kitchen to take a peak in the bags, only for him to wrap his arms around your waist and spin you. You smile, embracing him back.

He kisses you gently, caressing your cheek and pushing a strand of hair away from your face. He lifts you up a little, making you sit on the on the cupboard. He nuzzles his head against your neck, humming softly.

“You smell divine, dear. Is that a new perfume?„ he asks in a giggle. He always knows when you try something new. You don't answer directly. Instead, you pout and glance over the bags.

“What's in there?„ you ask. His head peeks up, a cunning smile forming on his lips. “Why? Are you curious, little bunny?„ blush quickly makes its way to your cheeks, instinctively making you push him away.

Jumping to have your feet on the ground again, you feverishly shake your head. You can't let him be right, can you?

You can feel his hand going at your low back to lead you toward the living room. “Let me enjoy you. Work is exhausting, but it's been better ever since you are around.„ you know how important you are for him. Without you, his days would be monotonous, without anything beside work. But now that you are here, he is always so excited to get home, like a puppy about to get a treat.

He sits on the sofa, pulling you in his lap as he rests his head on your shoulder. He closes his eyes, squeezing you against him. It makes you quietly chuckle.

His phone rings, but when he sees who it's from, he throws it at the other side of the sofa. “It can wait. For now, I just want to be with you only.„

He is never one to dismiss anyone, but now that he has you, he has to set up boundaries. Once he's home and there's no urgency, everyone could wait.

His gaze scans the room, and he can't help it. He smiles at your decorations and Christmas tree. The two days he spent with you to do it have been worth it. He loves to know you've made it together.

And he knows what he bought will make you happy. Right after making you feel desperate. He is so excited to see your reaction. But for now, he just wants to hold you close and watch silly things over your phone.

And so you two did. For two good hours.

It's only after those two hours that he stands up and gestures for you to follow him. “I know you've been dead curious, and it might be the moment... Perhaps, you'll be so disappointed in me that you'll divorce.„ he jokes. But he still has this little fear deep inside. Even if he knows that would never happen.

He picks a curtain from the bag, only to reveal snowy patterns all over it. And another one with a snowman. And even more with some other scenes and winter themed decor. He even shows some winter and Christmas themed sheets...

An he has been right. You sigh in desperation, feeling like this is all a joke. But once you assimilated what happened and his goofy surprise, you burst in laugher. That is the whole reason why you love him. Just from seeing you so happy about Christmas, he bought all of that.

In a way, he is so careful and attentive to the tiniest of your action and word.

After he places it all over the kitchen table, you run to jump in his arms, wrapping yours around his neck. He catches you, stroking your back gently.

“... Don't ever change. You are the best husband anyone could have.„ you mutter against his chest. You would never change even for someone richer or prettier. You'd stay with him until the end, because he's all that you ever need.

“I know I'm often busy with work, but when I can surprise you, I'd do it. I hope you'll keep loving me through all. Because it definitely won't be the last time I'll do something stupid for you.„

He holds you close to his chest, internally terrified you'd leave, but also in peace to know he's all you ever want.

And he could only want you. No one could love him like you do. He isn't willing to let you go. Not now, not ever.

so guys 🙋🏻‍♀️🌸 i have finished the entire new quest at last and omg 👼🏼 like this was outstanding!! you see, what i really enjoy about star rail is that it gives me similar vibes to hi3 in terms of the darkness in the plot, since hi3 is my favorite hoyo game i always love seeing stuff from it or just similar instances. SO YOU KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS SO HYPED WHEN ACHERON SHOWED UP 🤺 especially with the hi3 story with kiana as the mc being over and although i still love hi3 the most, kiana, mei and bronya, that trio, they were all the best characters together AAAARGHHH I SWEAR AND JUST THE ENTIRE STORY LINE WAS SOOO GOOD, I miss them all together as a trio and especially kiana, the best hoyo MC FOR LIFE. 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷

also 🤠 ^^ that frame with sunday and dr ratio like 😙😙 WAS SO FUNNY I HAD TO SS IT. 🤺

the amount of cutscenes we got to see again was so fun, it felt like watching a movie slowly unfold while you got to be a part of it 🩷 you can tell that hoyoverse gets better and better with each update on whatever game and that the cutscenes are always so well done (i always liked them but the constant upgrades ??? insane) 🙏🏻

+ the acheron one shotting aventurine lmao 🧎🏻‍♀️ it was my favorite though ngl HAHA 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷 no matter how much i like aventurine as a character, MEI OMG MEEEIIIIII 👹🩷 SHE WILL FOREVER BE MY LOVE LIKE I KNOW ITS ACHERON BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEAN !!!!! 🙇🏻‍♀️ LIKE THE CUTSCENE WITH HER HORNS OH MY GOOOD THE NOSTALGIA LIKE YES GO OFF SHOW THEM

also guys, idk but aventurine's boss fight, 🤠 i personally expected more like it was so easy to beat ?! I THOUGHT I WOULD STRUGGLE BUT HE DIED PRETTY QUICKLY BUT ITS FINE, I STILL LIKE HIS CHARACTER 🌸🙋🏻‍♀️. + i was happy hoyoverse showed us his backstory and took their time to flash it out and not gloss over it in idk one/two scenes, but they really took their time with it which was amazing 🩷

also jade looks so cool as well! the design is very pretty and i can't wait to see diamond too, or the rest of the ten stonehearts but they're hyping diamond up so much like another emanator?? yes please, i'm all in🧎🏻‍♀️🩷

this entire quest gave me movie vibes, you were on edge the entire time and even during side quests you had to take, it was still very intense. it actually took me quite a bit to finish it of course since i'm someone who doesn't skip dialog, but it was so worth it and the best way to relax after a long day of moving my body 🩷 just laying in bed, playing while drinking tea!!

what i wanted to say too, guys honestly sunday is not okay HAHAHAHAHAHAH 🌝 I MEAN LIKE you guys🧎🏻‍♀️, that shiver in his voice at times and you can tell he low-key doesn't even know how to handle all of that either, of course, for one he looks like everything is accounted for while in the other, he sounds like he's losing his mind and can we blame him ???? when he went "why did you kill her" and lowkey cussed gallagher out i was like damn 🤠 okay 😏 HAHA + i'm somebody that doesn't think too much about theories, instead i love eagerly waiting for the next patch!! so i'm excited for what's coming 🩷 + robin's song slaps.

last but not least 🤺 you see, gallagher wasn't really somebody i was very interested in, but damn the second he turned dangerous and spicy i went oh my oh hey what's up ?? 😏 giggles HAHA LIKE WHAT IS IT ABOUT MEN WHO ARE JUST SUDDENLY EVIL AND IDK MAYBE HE ISNT COMPLETELY RIGHT AAAAAA OOOOO UUUU WWWWW AAAAA but anyways, 🌸 the last cutscene low-key hurt me like what do you mean sunday gets off screened while i was saving up for him for what? 👹 ever since fuxuan like how can you do this to me + no way they're dead dead 🤠because the last conversation aventurine had with acheron was very important to the next patch i'm pretty sure! 🩷

all in all guys!! 🩷 this quest was beautifully done, it had a lot of hard, dark stuff and it reminded me a lot of hi3, that's why i give it a 10/10, very well done. 🌸🩷

-I went from "omg noooo poor Kaladin" to "omg he is killing it" to HIM JUMPING OFF URITHIRU??? I'm pretty sure Sanderson wouldn't kill Kaladin but I don't really trust him and if ANYTHING like that happens to Kaladin I will NEVER recover and Sanderson will find me behind his door sooner or later.

-Ishar is somehow bringing spren to this realm and that way killing them? What is going on this seem really really bad.

-DALINAR AND ODIUM ACCEPT THE TERMS OF THE FIGHT AAAAAA. That's for sure going to be one of the big plots of the next book.

-I do feel bad about Raboniel bc despite everything she was a good one. The scene of Navani finally killing her made me sad.

-No fucking way Taravagian became Odiums vessel NO FUCKING WAY. I thought I would get rid of him before next book but NO WAY HE IS NOW ODIUM WHAT TYPE OF CRUEL JOKE IS THIS

-Thaidakar being referred to as the Lord of Scars, oh he is for sure Kelsier jdjdks This is so excited. Also Shallan finally taking a side against Ghostbloods AND being one with Veil, only living with Radiant now. I'm so so happy Shallan is starting to go to the right direction even tho it's still a long way.

-The Stormfather let Eshonai ride through the world with him before she died, and she became a Radiant right before that... THATS SO CRUEL TF ESHONAI DESERVED TO LIVE AND BECOME BETTER LIKE VENLI. Knowing her last moments was really sweet but also made me sad😭

-Taravangian DID WHAT TO WIT. I honestly hate him sm I don't care who's side he is on and who he is trying to save. I just really hate him. As a character in a book, he is super interesting. But as a person in Roshar, I HATE him.

he doesn't have many friends (none at all, for that matter), so now he finally has someone he can ramble to about his interests in jack skellington and everything terrifying!!! he's so excited. you genuinely listen to him, sharing the same love for these things, and skully's so happy because for the first time someone actually understands him. :O

he has no concept of personal space, so be prepared when he looms over you with curiosity. what's this? the perfume bottle you always carry with you? aaah!!!! so that's why you smell so good! and what's this? lip gloss? is that why your lips always look so soft and shiny and kissable? >w< he's just so fascinated with you and all of the little things you carry in your bag. and when he finds lingerie mixed in with the laundry and he picks it out and admires it, picturing these soft frills adorning your body... omg what a pretty vision!!!! and maybe you'd look up at him with that cute face of yours when you lay in his bed,,, what if you let him peel these dainty ribbons off of you?!?! omg omg omg that's way too erotic!!!! he thinks, covering his face and blushing fiercely. isn't he supposed to court you properly and have a chaste romance before any of the naughty stuff!?!?!? uuuwaaa how embarrassing........

sometimes you'll catch him poking around in your room. he's a horrible liar, always stumbling over his words, avoiding eye contact, fiddling with his hands... no, he wasn't peeking in your closet and he wasn't looking through your drawers!!! >_< he's just,,, admiring the interior design????
