Does the clearing where Sonic and Shadow spend time from the first chapter look like the place where Shadow rested in "Dark Begging's"?

Nope! I am debating in a future scene making them go there potentially, but I'm unsure at the moment

Why do you think the image of Sonic as a cannibal is popular in fanfics/au? Although there are other characters who are more suited to the image of a cannibal, for example Shadow, because of his black arms genes, and the like, although it is probably because Sonic is a more popular character, so all this went to him, although I have several guesses why exactly this is so, 1) The image of Sonic devouring mobians is scary, but quite interesting, because Sonic is a hero, and this image is not familiar, in short, people like to explore this, and 2) The simplest, people just like Cannibal!Sonic, there are no specific reasons, plus, as I said above, Sonic is a popular character, so he gets everything, somehow. What do you think about this?

Yeah, I do think half of it has to do with his popularity. On the other hand, I think that it may be because of the juxtaposition of his personality with horrific acts. Like, I draw Sonic unsettling frequently (one of my most recent artworks of him is a Sinners reference), and for me I find that interesting. For my fic, I've also toyed with imagery that Sonic considers Shadow a meal metaphorically (which won't stop btw~) to express the horror of Sonic's perspective of Shadow. It's fun stuff!

Y'know I love IDW Sonic comics for what they are. I don't think there's a single comic original character I dislike, and their stories, generally speaking, are a joy to read. But I'm at a bit of a crossroads and was wondering if people at all felt the same way... Like, again, these characters are fun, right? SEGA's also said the comics are canon, so the chances of them being referenced/maybe even showing up (put Surge in a game NOOWWWW) aren't zero.

But... when it comes to the game canon characters, the ones we've grown to love... I'm feeling dissatisfied as of late.

I'm not the kind of person who harps on "in-character" writing for spin-off material (obviously, if something is canon, they SHOULD be in character, but I can forgive a lot basically). I think discourse over "this character would NOT say that" is just kind of silly when blown out of proportion. What I do read spin-off comics for, however, are for the opportunities to flesh out canon characters in events we may not get from the video games.

Has the IDW series been able to do that? So far, looking back... the answer is sometimes?

To name a few things I really like: Cream's whole trauma during Metal Virus was top notch (but she's the only character in that arc I feel was handled perfectly). Silver being roped into the Mimic conflict and having people think his powers were unstable was very intriguing (but it didn't go anywhere where we can fully explore how that felt to him, but whatever fuck it we ball). Scrapnik Island is probably the best mini arc (or arc in general tbh I love it so much) of the entire run so far.

There are cases of gold here, don't get me wrong. And it's not like the og characters are just there as salad dressing with no substance. They DO add to the story when they get the focus, and what we get is intriguing. But man I would love something I can REALLY sink my teeth into, y'know? So far, my fav interaction has been between Sonic and Surge. And, mind you, I LOVE Surge, but... what if my favorite thing could be a moment between Sonic and Knuckles? Knuckles and Eggman? Cream and Shadow? I'll take Charmy and Omega at this point man idc lmfaooo

Part two of Magical Girl-inspired super forms! (If I draw Utena Blazamy art who can stop me really). Also trying a new way of painting for each one, so do forgive me if it looks funky. Just trying stuff!

I said on twitter the other day that I think Amy needs a super form that's inspired by magical girl aesthetics and this was my idea for the outfit! I will redesign her hammer one of these days, but I needed to get her general vibe done first~

Yess, it's my fav kind of Sonadow to draw. I love Shadow being taken aback by Sonic in general, and I get to twist what would be a rather endearing factor of their relationship on its head to be somewhat unsettling. Shadow liking him + having rather self-destructive tendencies in many aspects of his personality, makes his reactions to Sonic's eeriness so interesting. I can't wait to write out one day how the rest of the scene goes, because then I get to draw the expression Shadow will make in my mind when Silver asks Sonic a very particular question...

Knocks on your door... HI! Your sonadow fic has me in a total chokehold, the writing is, gosh, absolutely amazing and the way you write and really dive into the characters as a whole is just WOW. Also the pacing? RAUGHH ‼️ Even though im at the ripe adult age, I'm usually into more light-hearted fluff, humor and etc. In general. But somehow your fic, despite being topics I dont read much about, really drew my attention.

My favorite character of yours who you write is defiently Sonic! Im a goofball so usually I enjoy a silly (yet close to canon) Sonic, although not up everyone's alley, I love it. But thats besides the point, the way you write Sonic makes me want to explode into bits. Even though im not too into the concept of yanderes, your yandere Sonic really made me re-consider looking into more media about them.

Next to Sonadow, Blazamy is my second favorite ship (Also Surgamy but I physically can't decide between the two 💔) and I was wondering what you thought about it?

I know you've stated before that you aren't a huge fan of the Sonic movieverse, I say as a singular tear rolls down my face /j (Your views on it are totally valid and I agree with the majority of your points, tough love) But have you read any of the movie!sonadow fics? Specifically: The Secret in Our Quills. Next to your fic, thats defiently my second favorite, but thats because im a sucker for fluff and more 'upbeat' fics. Regardless, its more of a 'fun' read.

What got you into Sonadow?

Since your main interest is horror/thriller, what are your favorite movies/books regarding that genre?

Any tips for a newer Sonadow fic writer? I've always wanted to write about the two gay but hedgehog whenever I've opened google docs and tried to write something down, I seemed to either hate it or think that its not accurate at all to canon; Staring at my screen like a sad cat. Fanfics are meant to be fun, so a little ooc and non-canon-ness doesn't hurt, but I also want it to be enjoyable and for readers to read, if you get what I mean. (I also have the growing fear that theres going to be people out there who'll comment on my fic stating how bad it is, uhuhhuu ;_;)

Favorite Sonadow trope?

Any rarepairs in the Sonic fandom you're into?

I LOOOOOOVE BLAZAMY AND SUGAMY AAAAAAAAAAA I feel you so much on not knowing which I prefer. Blazamy is such a classic that I've loved since I was little, and their personalities complement one another so well. Surgamy, on the other hand, is newer and VERY aesthetically pleasing, and their short interactions so far are just so amazing! Both have a lot of potential for angst in different ways, so consider me OBSESSED! Both are probably tied for third fav ship under Sonadow and Knuxouge.

I have not read The Secret in Our Quills yet! It's one I see so many people talk about and I'm a huge sucker for fluff... I read a dark movieverse fic a few days ago that horribly depressed me, so I may need to read something lighter once of these days~ I'll have to bookmark it later~

So like... you know that meme of how kids back in the day tried looking up Sonic X Shadow (as in, Sonic X the anime... pictures of Shadow...) yeah so I was like... 8 or 9 at the time? I was very confused at the time like "Wait, boys can... kiss boys?" and I sat on that for like a day mulling it over before it became something I shipped LMFAO I was doomed from the start. I grew up doodling Sonic, so they were the first two characters I drew hugging and kissing.

If I may offer a show, Haunting of Hill House is still one of the scariest things I've watched to this day in a way that feels so earned and precise that I'm obsessed with it. For movies, I really love The Shining, Sinners, There Will Be Blood, Train to Busan, Parasite... One of my favorite books (idk if this is a horror in terms of genre, but given the content, I sure hope so) was Flowers in the Attic... Some of my fav horror games arre survival horrors like the Silent Hill series, Signalis (I will one day make a Blazamy au of this, trust), Haunting Ground... I'm a big fan of the supernatural~

This is a great question! I've said once before, I think that what helps me capture the characters' voices in dialogue is saying them out loud. If I can hear it, I can imagine it better in a cutscene, if that makes sense. Otherwise, honestly, just get to writing when the inspiration strikes you! My own perspective of "in character" can be so different from someone else's, and at the end of the day, you're right that this is all for fun! Play around with what feels comfortable for each scenario, and you'll surely get to where you want to be in time! :> As for mean commenters, they're hella jealous. Even if you look back on your work and hate it eventually, you managed to get it DONE. That's something to be proud of~

...I like when Sonic dies. (●'◡'●) ERM I also like when they're fighting or racing and it was all Sonic's ploy to get Shadow to enjoy himself in some way, and Shadow is taken aback yet intrigued by him its CUTE

About the impressions of the last chapters, I can say that it's very amazing. Especially the way the story is told from the perspective of different characters, even characters like Omega. And watching how Rouge's initial concern for her friend turns into a serious question of trust between them. And of course, Sonic and Shadow, two codependent jerks (I love them). Thank you for bringing this idea to life 🙇
