Price finds her in the equipment room doing a rather meticulous job of cleaning their weapons, but he also notices that the only set she currently has out, is none other than the side-arm and knives owned by their resident Lieutenant.
“Quite rare to see you here on a Friday night,” he says, taking a seat across from her, grabbing an oiled rag to start cleaning with. “Shouldn’t you be going out with Gaz and Soap for drinks?”
She pauses, looks up and then lowers her gaze back to the firing pin she’s cleaning. “Didn’t feel like going out tonight, Captain.”
“Didn’t feel like it or didn’t feel like seeing ‘you know who?’”
“You know?” She asks and he shrugs.
“It’s my job to know everything that happens within the one-four-one.”
“I thought that was Miss Kate’s job?”
Price smiles. “We share responsibility.” He methodically rubs the rag along the parts of the side-arm, his expression and voice becoming rather calm but she feels the air turn a little stern, if almost a fatherly stern. “You’ve been avoiding him.”
She makes a noise in her throat. “I can’t exactly talk to him. Look what happened last time.”
“He feels bad.”
“I’m sure he does,” she retorts, looking at him. “He really hurt my feelings. What am I supposed to do, tell him it’s okay? That we can move on like he didn’t tell me I’m clingy?” She stops, looks down at her hands. “I sound like a fucking child.”
Price hums. “You actually sound like a person who’s had their feelings hurt and you’re not sure how to proceed.” He dips the rag in a big more oil. “I know it doesn’t equate what he’s said to you, but allow me to fill in some blanks you might have on Simon.”
She cocks a brow. “Okay?”
“Simon was the oldest child of two. Abusive dad, terrified mom. Younger brother used to terrorize him too.” He goes back to cleaning the gun parts. “Nine-eleven had Simon enlisting, came back after a lull, kicked his dad out, got his brother sober and even found himself the proud uncle of a nephew named Joseph.”
“Where are they now?” She asks. “Simon’s from Birmingham, right?”
“He is,” he answers, but his face and voice are void of any hope. “But they’re not anymore.”
She blinks, feels the shift in temperature. “They…moved?” She hopes; he meets her gaze, and she knows instantly. “Oh…I…how did it…”
“I don’t want to divulge Simon’s past without his permission, because it’s also his own choice to tell you what happened, but I can tell you that Simon had a personal vendetta against the man and others who hurt his family. And he took care of it.” Price inhales and exhales. “In doing so…Simon sacrificed himself. He made himself—“
“A Ghost,” she finishes, and he nods.
“Simon, when it comes down to what he truly is beneath his cold stoicism, my dear, is simply a very tired and even more broken-hearted man who believes that if he keeps everything and everyone at a distance, then nothing can hurt him.” Price sets the weapon and rag down. “He likes to think he’s incapable of feeling but don’t let his demeanor or words fool you, Simon feels more deeply for the people he loves more than anyone I’ve ever met.”
Something aches in her chest, rising up to close around her throat as she asks, “A man like him…he can still love?”
He smiles half-heartedly. “I’ve seen the man run back through a burning building to pull Gaz out. I’ve seen him run through gunfire, take a bullet to the thigh and keep going to carry Soap.” He nudges her under the table. “I’ve even seen him pull your ass out of even stickier situations. If we viewed Simon how he wanted us to view him, it’d be easy to call him a heartless bastard. But he isn’t as heartless as he wishes he was.”
“That just shows he’s doing his job as our superior officer,” she counters weakly. “He’s doing it because it’s his duty to get his subordinates out.”
“Does it ever just feel like that?”
“…no.”
Price gazes on her like a father to his daughter with her first heartbreak. “What do you feel right now, puffin?”
She purses her lips, looks down at the various weapons on the table before she admits, “I’m still hurt. His words keep replaying in my mind. I’m clingy and I’m always around.” She fiddles with the fraying hem of the rag. “That I’m a bother.”
“Would it make a difference if I told you that I don’t think such things?”
She shrugs.
Price blinks, reaches up and rubs his chin thoughtfully. “You can be very excitable. Sometimes, I think you let it get the better of you and you often forget that others don’t always have the same personality as you.”
“Excitable is the polite way of saying annoying.”
“If I wanted to say you were annoying, I would’ve. You genuinely are a good and wholesome person, my dear. But you have to remember that everyone has a different level of extroversion. Sometimes, we have to tone it down a bit.” He meets her gaze and she knows his is full of honesty. “Simon doesn’t actually hate you. And he probably feels a tad bit of annoyance, but then again, he always does regardless of who it is, because Simon hates anything that makes noise. But I also know that he feels bad for what he did and said to you—and he wants to make it right.”
She takes in his words. “Do I need to engage him first? Extend some olive branch for peace?”
Price rises from the table and smiles, walks around and pats her shoulder. “Nah, let him come to you.”
“You really think he will?”
“I do. He knows what he’s gotta do and he’ll do it because he knows it’s the right thing to do. But he’ll be skittish. He’s like a newborn deer.” He winks. “Let him mull over how he wants to do it. As for you,” he points at her. “You’ve gotta move on from this. Learn from it. And stop ignoring him and avoiding him like you’re a ten year old. Be a grown-up. Act professional and be polite. I will not let this effect the team any longer than it is. Am I understood?”
She swallows thickly and nods. “Yes, sir, Captain Price. I promise.”
Price smiles and pats her again. “Go on. Soap and Gaz headed to Purecraft.”
“But the Lieutenant—”
“Is in the training room working out,” Price waves her off. “Go. Have some fun. Get some drinks, talk to Tweedledee and Tweedledum.”
As she gets up, she pauses and looks at him. “Captain?”
“Hmm?”
“Thank you.”
Price’s eyes crinkle around the edges. “You’re welcome, Puffin.”

—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—✦—
okay so let’s say you have a daughter around the age of 3. things had been rough before meeting lee, life pretty much being put on hold for you as you couldn’t go anywhere without your child.
you met lee in your local store, just minding your business when your daughter decides it’s time to play matchmaker!
despite calling for her as she runs and runs further away from you, she still doesn’t listen until she finds herself hiding behind a very stiff lee harker’s leg.
girly is stressed LMAOOO, like where the hell has this random child come from and oh my god why is her mother so beautiful??
“oh my god i am so sorry!” you’re trying your best to remove your daughter from lee’s leg, but apparently your child has super strength and forgot to tell you.
“no no-“ GULP, “you’re fine” you’d honestly think someone was holding her at gunpoint and forcing her to smile, why is she just showing off her teeth instead of smiling with them?
i can SMELL her gay panic.
once your daughter eventually lets go, you continue apologising profusely as you begin walking away.
“wait!” lee calls out, her voice shaky. she does an awkward little jog over to you, her arm extended towards you as she waves a small elephant teddy in the air.
oh yeah that’s when you decided to get her number. the baywatch jog to hand deliver the toy to you reallyyyy did it.
fast forward a few months and things are going great! lee comes over every friday after clocking out and doesn’t leave until she has to. your weekend sleepovers are consistently the highlight of her week.
she’s definitely… interesting when it comes to your daughter.
“sooo, this is your room.”
and your kids just sat in her bed like “ya.”
yeah you dragged her out of there. “lee you don’t need to talk to her like she’s a suspect, just be normal”
“that was me being normal” and she hits you with the :/
she defo sends you money for stuff like sitters and daycare to help with your part time job. it also frees you up for date nights!
(lee keeps tabs on the babysitter and every single person who works in the daycare your daughter attends, she came to stand on business)
when things start to get really serious between you two, lee decides to move you into her cabin! this cutie even changed her study into the cutest little forest themed nursery you’ve ever seen.
“lee it’s perfect! thank you” you’re literally on the verge of sobbing and she’s just stood in the doorway like 🧍‍♀️🙂
lee does become better around your kid, acting more loving towards her and not being as afraid of her LMAO
also she’s so fucking overprotective.
lee never asked why you were a single mother, she didn’t really think it was her place. it took you quite a while to open up to her about it, her holding you as you finally let out all of your emotions for the first time since falling pregnant. men fucking suck.
NSFW:
jumping straight into it, it turns her on so much that you’re a single mother.
i can picture her sat at her desk that’s now in the corner of your bedroom, her fingers hooked into the loop of your jeans as words of adoration spill from her lips.
“i think you’re so strong”, “it’s so hot that you did that all by yourself”, “you’re so amazing”.
before you know it she’s trailing kisses down your stomach, one hand coming up to rub the center of your chest as the other undoes your belt buckle…

There are ups and downs to living in a different state from the one you grew up in. The second you and your twin brother got enough money to move out, you did. You two did everything together growing up so it made sense to move out when he did. He moved because of his job in the Army while you moved to be with him. Your job is remote so you can work anywhere, so it wasn’t a big deal to pack up your life and follow Steve across the country.
The West Coast is so much more different than the East Coast. Warmer weather, colder oceans, and lots and lots of mountains. It’s a nice change from the snow and the humidity, but there’s nothing like home. Your parents are still living in New York, and as much as you FaceTime them, it’s not the same as being there with them.
It would explain why you feel so homesick. Your mom was just telling you that Shelly, one of her neighbors, found out she was free of cancer so she’s throwing a small party for the neighborhood. You were there when she was diagnosed, and you were often the one to help her with the small tasks when her kids couldn’t be there for her.
You and Steve don’t live together but you do live three blocks away from each other. If you want to, you can see him any time you want. He’s stationed in the state of California, so he gets to go home every night and get some weekends to himself, so you hope he’ll be home. Just seeing Steve makes you feel better, so you start the trek to his apartment.
You opt out of driving there for two reasons. The weather is nice and you can use the walk to clear your head. Plus, it’s not far anyway. You and Steve pop by each other’s place all the time so you’re not worried about interrupting anything he’s doing. If he has something important to do, he texts you just in case you plan on coming over.
You knock on the door when you get to his apartment and wait. When the door opens, it’s not Steve but his best friend, Bucky, who is also in the Army. He got injured so he was granted medical leave to recover.
“Oh, hey. Is Steve home?”
“No, he’s out on a date right now and probably won’t be home until tomorrow morning.”
“Oh.” Realization comes over your face and you scrunch in disgust. “Oh.” You sigh and try to will the tears away. “Okay.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, but I just… I had a really bad day and I’m homesick. I was hoping Steve was here because he makes everything better when I get like this. It’s fine. I can go.”
You turn but Bucky stops you.
“Don’t be silly. I’m not Steve but I am company. Want to come in and watch a movie?”
It beats being alone right now. “Sure. Thank you.”
You walk in and find a home on his comfortable couch while Bucky makes two bags of popcorn. You like all kinds of movies so Bucky puts on a comedy to get your mind off family. Before you know it, the popcorn is gone and the movie is over with.
“Thank you for that, Bucky. I’m feeling a little bit better,” you smile.
“Good. I’m glad.”
“I remember when this movie came out in theaters. Steve and I were broke so we broke into the theater and snuck into the movie. We got about halfway through the movie when we were caught, so we booked it out of there so fast before they could call the cops.”
“That sounds like Steve,” Bucky laughs.
“Yeah.” You bite your lower lip and turn to face him. “So, why are you home alone on a Friday night? Where’s your date?”
“Eh, dating isn’t really my scene. I don’t know. The last girl I dated just up and left me without warning. Like she moved away and blocked me on everything. I was never good at the dating stuff, anyway.”
“Yeah, me, too. The last boyfriend I had was so boring. He never did anything spontaneous. I was as good as dead if I stayed in that relationship.”
Bucky looks at the time and chuckles. “Well, we can either watch another movie or I have some board games in my room.”
“Oh, I’m a master at board games.”
“We’ll see about that,” he laughs.
He leaves and comes back with all kinds of board games ranging from Monopoly to Heads Up to Battleship to Uno. You lose track of time until you stretch out your stiff muscles. You look at the time and do a double-take when you see how late it is.
“Holy shit, it’s four in the morning. Wow. Time really does fly when I’m kicking your ass at Uno.” He can’t help but laugh. “I should get home.”
“Did you drive?”
“No, I walked, but it’s fine. I’ll walk back. I don’t mind.” Bucky gets up and he grabs his jacket from the coat hanger on the closet door. “What are you doing?”
“I’m coming with you.” You open your mouth to protest but he won’t hear about it. “Y/N, it’s four in the morning. I don’t care if you live across the street. You’re not walking out there alone in the middle of the night. Come on.”
Despite making it to Steve’s apartment in thirty minutes, you and Bucky make the walk back in fifty. You two just don’t want this night to end.
“Thank you for walking me home.”
“No problem.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow. I still want a rematch on Battleship.”
You turn to leave but Bucky stops you in your tracks.
“Can I kiss you?”
You turn to him. “What?”
Bucky suddenly grows shy and rubs the back of his neck nervously. “I’m not very good at this part but can I kiss you?”
“Yes,” you smile.
Bucky takes two strides to you and he’s in your arms. He pulls you in gently by your face and kisses you like you two haven’t seen each other in months. The second you touch, sparks fly. It might be cliche but you’ve never felt a connection like this before. This is where you belong.
Steve is so overprotective of you, so you’re not sure how he will react to you and Bucky starting a relationship together, so you’ve decided to keep it on the down low for right now. A few weeks of stolen kisses and moments go by when Steve and Bucky are home together for the first time in days. Bucky’s injury healed itself so he was able to go back to work with Steve. He isn’t able to do rigorous work so his workload is light right now.
“Just so you know, I’ll be at Erika’s house tonight. We’re getting a hotel that’s attached to a water park,” Steve says once he’s done packing.
“So, you’ll be gone all weekend?”
“Yeah.”
Bucky takes out his phone while Steve’s talking to text you.
Bucky: Steve is out all weekend. Want to come over?
You: Hell yeah. I’ll be over soon.
“Did you hear anything I said, Buck?”
Bucky looks up like a deer in headlights. “What?”
“I said Y/N might be over. She’s been feeling a bit homesick, and I hope you can keep her company. I worry about her.”
“Yeah, you got it.”
“Thanks, Buck. It means a lot. Oh, don’t forget to ask about this summer.”
“Okay.”
Five minutes after Steve leaves, you arrive at their apartment with a bag in hand. You don’t plan on leaving this place until Steve comes back. It’s been days since you’ve seen him and you’re Bucky-deprived. You jump into his arms and kiss him, and he carries you to the couch with ease. Bucky already has a movie playing but you two don’t do much watching.
You’re in his lap making out with him. He runs his hands over your thighs as his lips move over your neck. You pull his face back to yours so you can kiss him properly when you hear an explosion happening on the TV screen.
“You put this movie on so we can watch it,” you giggle against his lips.
“I got distracted by you.” You laugh and slide off his lap. “Hey, I still have to work it out with my job, but Steve and I are planning on taking a week’s vacation on his girlfriend’s yacht in the summer. Want to come?”
“Ooh, fancy. I’d love to.” You pause. “Wait, what about Steve?”
“What about him?”
“Come on, you know he’d kill you if he found out we were dating.”
“I don’t care.”
“I do. He’s my twin. I’ve never kept secrets from him. He’ll be so mad.”
“Then we don’t go.”
“No, he’s your best friend and you deserve a vacation. Yeah, we’re going to go. It’ll be fun. It’s going to be fine,” you smile and quickly kiss him.
With Bucky and Steve going to work day in and day out, time flies by. Before you know it, the summer is here and you and Bucky have been hiding your relationship from your brother for nearly half a year. Being with Bucky makes you feel alive. He makes you feel good about yourself. He’s spontaneous.
Erika’s family owns two yachts and allowed her to bring a small party onto one of them. She is an experienced sailor but you don’t go far from the docks, only far enough not to bother anyone. She invited a few of her friends and Steve invited you and Bucky. You’ve never been on a boat much less a yacht, and you’re loving every single second of it.
Except for one thing.
Steve is here which means you can’t love Bucky in the way you want to. Bucky is getting pissed that you keep avoiding him whenever Steve is around. All he wants is to love his girl and he can’t do that because you’re scared Steve will kill him.
You sneak downstairs to the kitchen to grab a snack when Bucky comes in.
“This is driving me crazy. We have to tell Steve.”
“Bucky, we’ve been over this.”
“Y/N, it’s been six months. I’m sick of sneaking around.”
He has a point. You’d feel the same if the situation was reversed. Sneaking around was fun at first but now, all it is is a hindrance.
“I guess we can kiss in front of him. If he gets angry, we can say it was a joke or something.” Bucky scoffs, and you drop the knife a little harder than you should have. “What do you want me to do, Bucky?”
“Nothing.”
He turns and leaves, and you feel worse than you already do. After the sun has gone down, everyone is gathered around the small raised firepit. Out of the ten people on board, there are only two couples. Well, three if you weren't so chicken. You’re sitting with one of Erika’s friends half-listening to her talk about her rich-people problems while Bucky is sitting across from you with a beer in hand. Steve is with Erika being all lovey-dovey, and you can see the pot just about to boil over for Bucky.
Erika giggles and Bucky explodes.
“I can’t do this anymore,” Bucky says and stands.
“What are you doing?” you ask and stand, too.
“This.”
Bucky storms over to you and pulls you into his arms. He kisses you like how he should have been doing this entire trip. Steve does a double take when he sees his sister and best friend kissing, and he jumps up from his spot.
“Hey!” Steve pulls Bucky off you. “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like?”
“She’s my sister!”
“What is it that I’m doing wrong, Steve? Am I a bad best friend?”
“No--”
“Do I treat women poorly?”
“Well, no, but--”
“Give me one good reason why I can’t be with your sister.”
“What if it ends badly? I’d have to choose between you two.”
“It won’t go wrong.”
“How do you know that?”
“Because I’m in love with her.”
“What?” you ask.
Bucky turns and walks closer to you. “I’m in love with you. Like, I see ourselves having a big white house with a picket fence and five dogs and three horses and chickens and cows and all kinds of animals. I fell in love with you the first time I kissed you. You are my person. Am I yours?”
Everyone is silent as they wait for your response. You smile brightly and try to hide it but it comes out anyway.
“I’m in love with you.”
Bucky pulls you close and kisses you. This time, a round of cheers goes by. You’re done hiding from the world. Bucky is yours and you are his.
“I guess Bucky isn’t a bad choice for a boyfriend,” Steve says when you part.
“I think so, too,” you grin at your boyfriend.

The week felt like it took forever to be over, exams, loads of homework, part-time job, all that hectic stuff. But this weekend you get to-well you’re not really sure exactly what Sukuna has in store for you but whatever it is you’re excited for it.
You had texted your roommate the day you were over Sukunas apartment that you’d be staying there at least until the weekend was over. You often stayed at Sukunas for long periods of time when you needed a break or just wanted to hang with your best friend. He never really minded you were pretty good company, in your own words, and he was used to spending long periods of time with you. During school, after school, in the summer, whenever your moms wanted to have a girls night, just whenever.
Anyways your roommate was obviously cool with it, she had mentioned she wanted to have “company” over anyways so it all worked out. You took Sukuna’s advice and blocked your ex, you were probably going to do that anyways since the relationship was definitely over, so you have no idea if he’s texted or called. Not that you care though, he’s an ass and he should have enough shame, decency, and brains not to call and understand it’s over.
To be honest you’re at the acceptance stage of grief, it is what it is he wasn’t the one for you, but it still sucks. Sukuna has actually been really helpful, he’s been, for lack of a better word, a great distraction. He won’t tell you what he has planned for tonight though, all he said was to be ready in pajamas. Maybe a movie night?
You guys used to do those every Friday, but then college got too hectic with it being senior year and all. Sukuna said his classes are pretty easy, although you aren’t too surprised on that one he’s always been exceptionally intelligent, he claims it’s because he just decided to major in business since he’s not exactly sure what he wants to do.
He didn’t want to be a chef, even though he’s exceptionally talented in cooking too, but he’s a waiter at a restaurant for his part time job. When he first got that job you visited to see the restaurant, and him, it was a nice little quiet diner. He was annoyed and disgusted about it on the outside but you could tell he was embarrassed about you visiting, mostly because one time there was a couple that sat in the booth behind you and made comments about, “young love.” And every time you would sit in that same booth just to annoy him because you knew he thought about it each time, it was honestly hilarious. You and him? Being a couple? What a joke.
Sukuna texted he was on his way back, he had a lecture that was in the evening that day and he left a little early to start you guys’ weekend plans. Apparently you hadn’t been paying much attention to any calls or messages because you had about 10 missed calls from your friend and a dozen text messages. You immediately called back.
“Hello? Girl! Why have you not picked up, I’ve been calling you for forever.”
“I’m sorry! I was just laying here, and I had on dnd from when I was in classes earlier. I guess I never turned it off,” you replied in an anxious tone.
Mai just sighed before continuing, “anyways your boyfriend-“
“Ex,” you cut her off before she could even begin.
“Your ex-boyfriend,” she corrected herself with irritation, “has been showing up like every other hour asking about you, and I wasn’t paying much attention before but I’m pretty sure his car was outside yesterday for a while. He’s probably waiting on you, has he texted?”
“I don’t know if he’s texted I blocked him. That’s probably why he’s showing up, he thinks I’m home. Just ignore him, and if he continues to knock call the police or something.”
“Why can’t he just leave you alone? It’s clearly over, there’s nothing there anymore.”
“I know, I’m so sorry by the way.”
“You’re fine, enjoy your weekend babes! I just wanted to give you a heads up.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Mhm my company should be over soon, talk to you later, be safe.”
“Kk you too, bye Mai,” and with a small beep, the call ended.
He was coming by every hour? How insane. You hoped he wouldn’t give Mai much trouble, but then again she could handle herself. What if he knew you were at Sukuna’s? Well he didn’t know the address….he’s dropped you off before though. Maybe he doesn’t remember it? Oh no what if he shows up?! And then your whole weekend of distraction will be ruined, and all of Sukuna’s hard work will be-
“-n? Y/n! Hey, Earth to y/n again. Seems like I’m having to do that a lot this week huh?” Sukuna jokes.
“Hm, oh yeah sorry-“ you say lost in your thoughts.
“Uhh you sure? Why’re you all spaced out?”
“It’s nothing-“
“We both know it’s not nothing you might as well tell me, you’re not very good at your poker face I’ll have to teach you sometime,” he says playfully.
“It’s just- he showed up at my apartment. He was looking for me-“
“But you’re not there so what’s the problem?”
“Mai is there, which I’m sure she’s fine he’s not crazy he’s just a whore, but what if he shows up here?”
“Wow never thought I’d hear you slut shame someone, that’s a new low y/n,” he smiles and then continues, “but you don’t have to worry about him showing up here. That is if he knows what’s good for him.”
Oh yeah one small thing, the time your ex dropped you off him and Sukuna did not get along. It was the briefest moment, it felt like when your dad dropped you back off at your moms’ after spending a weekend with him, but it was tense. You could tell, Sukuna’s sharp maroon gaze stayed on him even after you had stepped inside. So, safe to say he’d have to be pretty ballsy to show up here.
“Put on some boots or something we’re going out,” Sukuna says gruffly.
“Going out where? I’m in pajamas-“
“I know, good. I told you to be, glad to know you listen.”
You scoffed, “no way I’m going in public like this-,” you gestured with your hands waving in an up and down movement to your unprofessional getup.
“Relax. You won’t be the only one, I’m about to change too.”
“Oh because two of us looking like we just rolled out of bed is better than one,” you said sarcastically.
“Exactly, I knew you’d get it I had to admit I was getting a little worried there,” he teased.
“Oh shut up dimwit,” you said smiling.
There it was again, stunning.
Sukuna went to quickly throw on some sweats and an old faded t-shirt, probably sporting some random band. He grabbed his keys, and you were out the door.
You loved night time drives, everything just hit different. The music vibed better, especially when Sukuna let you have the aux, the car ride is just more fun at night. When you arrived at the destination Sukuna parked the car and reached to turn the knob on the volume down.
“Look where we are,” he said turning to stare at you.
You immediately turned to look out the window, and even though it took you a second you realized-
With a big shriek and gasp you turned back to Sukuna, “this is-!”
“The ‘best convenience store ever in our hometown’ I know you said it to me so much it’s engraved in my brain.”
Sparkles were in your eyes, along with some unshed tears. So many great memories were here. Every time you passed a test with an A your mom would bring you here to get your favorite snack, and since Sukuna always did well on tests you’d take him about once a month to continue the tradition. But then you guys’ campus was at least a 35 minute commute from here, and when it was busy during the day maybe 45, so you stopped coming. There just wasn’t enough time and you guys got really busy. But not many people were on the road at night, and with Sukuna’s driving you guys probably made it there in 20-25 minutes tops.
You were so happy you could scream. It was apparent in your face, the brightest smile. You jumped out of the car and immediately ran into the store, Sukuna not far too behind you.
You had already grabbed one of the small dark green dingy looking baskets, ah the same as always, from the entrance and were halfway down your favorite aisle by the time he got inside.
He greeted the kind old lady at the register who had witnessed your excitement just moments ago, screeching with joy, which scared her when you rushed in.
He quickly found the aisle you were in and watched you decide which snacks you wanted, carefully picking the items and placing them in the basket.
You rushed from one place to another, grabbing drinks, chips, snacks, anything you wanted because who knows when you’ll visit here again. Then you just stopped, and Sukuna watching your madness didn’t think you were ever going to. Then your eyes started to well up with worry.
“What’s wrong?”
“I- I left my wallet back at your apartment, I can’t buy any of this-“
“What? I’m obviously buying, dimwit,” he scoffed repeating your words from earlier.
“Really?” You asked, the excitement immediately perking back up inside you.
He didn’t even get to answer before you continued happily on your shopping spree, how could he say no anyways? By the time you were done you couldn’t even pick up your basket. You quickly looked to Sukuna for help, and he rolled his eyes taking the basket with his left arm. You began to giggle watching him walk to the register. You couldn’t help it, the sight of him carrying a basket like a soccer mom was just too funny.
A stuffed full basket being carried by his well built arm, the vein bulging from the somewhat strenuous task being carried out. His hand flexing and unflexing to stretch after putting the basket down, making the veins even more visible as they pop out due to his contractions-
“Y/n? You coming? Don’t you wanna get home to eat all this stuff?”
You quickly snapped out of your haze, and ran up to the register where Sukuna had already taken his wallet out to pay, making a comment about how you were most definitely going to eat it in his car. You left a happy customer that day.
Before you left you made Sukuna stop in front of the shop so that you could snap a quick photo of the two of you together, you wanted to send it to your moms.
You smiled the whole car ride home, and when you got in the house.
“Thank you,” you said sincerely with a huge grin on your face.
“Yeah, yeah I know I’m the best,” he replied with a smirk.
“Can you cook the ramen please?”
“Who else was gonna-“
And then the shrill ring of the doorbell rang.
“Are you expecting someone?”
“No, no one comes over here. Maybe it’s just a package.”
“At 10pm?”
“I don’t know, maybe some drunk has the wrong door.”
Then it rang again.
“Okay maybe not…”
“Sukuna just go get the door I’ll start prepping-“
Before you could finish your sentence though, he already opened the door ready to tell off the drunk.
“Oh. It’s you.”
You didn’t like Sukuna’s tone, and being the nosey person you are sometimes, you rushed to the door. You immediately understood his tone.
“Oh, of course it’s you.”

Session 1: Stronghold and Followers
June, 1986
The closer you got to Indiana, the worse the heat got. In the passenger seat beside you, there were a half dozen water bottles sitting empty, as well as a few wrappers of the various snacks that you had picked up from gas stations on your long drive into Hawkins. You spent half the drive cursing yourself for not getting the a/c fixed earlier, your usual guys going on vacation right when you decided to suck it up to spend the money. Go figure.
It was twilight now, and there was a hazy purple over the horizon as you passed the WELCOME TO HAWKINS sign. Your radio turned to static, having lost whatever signal you had found for that last stretch of the drive and you reached out to fiddle with the dial to find something to listen to that was loud enough to drown out the sound of the wind rushing through your rolled down windows.
KISS blasted through your speakers after a moment of messing around, the tail end of “I Was Made For Loving You” giving you the push you needed to get to the Henderson house.
The street lights turned on as you pulled into the quiet neighborhood and a sense of nostalgia washed over you. For two weeks a year from the time you were in 2nd grade up until your last few years of high school, you’d spend time here with Dustin and his friends, playing D&D and riding bikes. His mom had always welcomed you like a daughter, even though you weren’t even related by blood, your mom having remarried when you were barely three years old.
You turned down the radio as you picked out the old house and pulled into the driveway. The yellow lights illuminating the house from within were a stark contrast to the fading light in the sky, and you saw a shadow rush past the window. You peeled yourself off the seat, and stepped out of the car, wondering how it was now cooler outside rather than inside.
Your name was called from the porch and you saw Dustin running at you and pulling you into a hug. You grunted and laughed.
“Who in the fresh hell are you?!” you demanded as Dustin pulled back. He was so much taller now, and you saw a hint of metal in his mouth that showed that his teeth were finally growing in. His hair was also longer, the spiral curls nearly reaching his shoulders.
“You smell like fresh hell!” Dustin said, scrunching his nose.
“Oh, do I?” you asked and wrapped an arm around his neck and pulled him into a headlock. “Do I? Do I really stink? Am I breaking the illusion that girls smell like roses and unicorns all the time?”
“Jesus, get off of me!” Dustin cackled as he pushed you off.
“That’s not my name, but on Friday you can call me ‘God’.” you smirked, ruffling his hair. “It’s good to see you again. Now help me get my shit out of the car.”
It didn’t take long for you two to drag your suitcases and duffle bags into the spare room. It was stale, but nothing that a cracked window and a fan couldn’t fix.
“Are you staying for the summer or are you moving in completely?” Dustin asked, dropping an oversized tupperware of clothes on the carpeted floor with a heavy thunk.
“Most of this isn’t my stuff. It’s for my job. They decided instead of paying to have things shipped they can just shove all the costumes in with me on my drive up.” you said, pushing the clothes to a corner of the room.
“Couldn’t it have stayed in the car then?” Dustin asked.
“No, don’t wanna risk damage in the heat.”
Without the boxes of costumes, your personal belongings added up to one suitcase, two duffle bags, and a backpack. You unzipped one of the bags and went digging through the mess to find your toiletries. You were going to need at least three showers after that drive.
Dustin hopped on your bed and watched you unpack. “Everyone’s really excited for the campaign.”
“Yeah?” you smiled as you tossed the toiletry bag on the dresser. “I spent an afternoon on those tickets, so they better remember to bring them.”
“We almost stapled Mikes’ ticket to his character sheet so he wouldn’t lose it.”
“Good because I worked too damn hard on this campaign for you all to derail it before it even starts.” You said firmly. “There will be consequences if they don’t remember the ticket.”
Dustin shifted on your bed and he started picking at the pilling on the pillow next to him. “And what happens if someone doesn’t have a ticket?”
“Nice try kid, I’m not sharing anything with you.” you snorted, shoving your clothes in the dresser.
“Not even a hint?”
“Nope, instead I should be giving you false information for being related to me. You’re lucky I don’t automatically give you disadvantage on all of your rolls just for knowing me, you nepo.” Your box of D&D items was pulled out of the duffel and placed on the bed next to him.
“That’s not fair!”
“I know, which is why I’m not doing it. Aren’t I such a benevolent dungeon master?” You bat your eyelashes at him. “Now is there an actual game shop here that I can get minis from? Otherwise you guys are gonna be battling old Sorry! pieces and maybe the Monopoly dog if I need a boss figure.”
“The closest one is a town over.” Dustin sighed.
“Damn. Well, I’ll make due for the first session.”
“I can ask Mike or Will if they can loan you some figures.”
“And that’s why you’re my favorite cousin.”
“I’m your only cousin”
“Details.”
The rest of the evening was filled with catching up with Dustin, having dinner and finally taking a cold shower after a long day of driving. You were a long way from home, but at least you were somewhere familiar.
It was almost midnight when you finally laid down for the night, the radio beside you was quietly playing some jazz station. The clean sheets felt like heaven against your skin, but it was still a different bed than usual.
You stared at the popcorn ceiling, making up constellations in the bumps as you pushed away thoughts of your old D&D party. How everything imploded, and you had jumped at the opportunity to run away with your tail between your legs the second this job opportunity popped up.
It’ll be different this time. You told yourself. It’s Dustin and his friends. Just a couple of kids who just want to play a game, just like you.
As the quiet sounds of the radio lulled you off, there was a small voice in the back of your head that whispered.
‘Everyone’s confused why you want to go, anyway-’
Tumblr media
With your new job not starting for another week, that gave you plenty of time to get ready for the first session. With the tickets you had sent out a few weeks ago, you’d also send all your players a rundown of what this campaign would be about, and what you expected of them at the table, as well as any house rules. Ideally, you preferred to talk about all of that in person but you wanted to jump right into the game as fast as possible.
Maybe the faster you started the game, the more you’d like it again.
When you originally called to ask if the Henderson’s would be willing to host you for the summer when this opportunity popped up, Dungeons and Dragons was the last thing on your mind. It had been a few months since the night that everything had fallen apart, but the wounds were no less healed. But then Dustin had hopped on the line and had gone on and on about Hellfire Club and how he missed playing with you and how amazing his new dungeon master was.
You weren’t sure if it was jealousy or spite that made you offer to run a campaign again for the kids. Maybe you missed being the one to run games, maybe you missed the idea of seeing people consistently, maybe you were just insane and were looking to still hurt. But you ran your mouth and spent the next few days in a nest of comics, Bradbury books, and B movies and emerged with a campaign about a haunted carnival to run.
You threw yourself into planning the campaign, focusing everything solely on work and this. Nothing else mattered other than getting as far away as possible, be it in reality or fantasy.
Friday night rolled around, and Dustin grumbled as you kicked him out of his own home. Your aunt had book club tonight, and that gave you time to spend the day getting ready for the first session.
The living room was decorated with streamers and balloons in neon greens and dark purples. Your old boom box was playing a tape of distorted carnival music, amplified by the busted left speaker. The afternoon was spent cooking up hotdogs and popcorn and other assorted carnival foods to stay on theme.
To top it off, you rummaged through the boxes of costumes that you had brought and pulled out a ringmasters coat and top hat.
Go big, or go home.
And you were a long way from home.
It was just past 7 when you heard the familiar laughter of Dustin and his friends outside as they all pulled up into the driveway on their bikes. You took a deep breath, and straightened your coat out.
Almost none of the voices you heard outside sounded familiar, except Dustin's and you had to remind yourself that you really hadn’t seen these kids since they were in middle school. Damn, it really had been a long time since you’d been back here.
You made your way over to the door and opened it with a flourish before they could let themselves in.
“Welcome gentlemen to the circus of the strange, the sideshow of the sinister and the theater of the bizarre!” You said dramatically, bowing as you ushered them in. You could see that Dustin couldn’t tell if he was embarrassed or enjoying you hamming it up in front of Mike, Lucas, and Will.
“Enter a realm of dark wonders to indulge your wickedest dreams. Or, if you dare, explore the shadows of your most diabolical nightmares.” You continued, leading them into the kitchen where you pointed to the food you had made that day. Your hard work for the day was worth it, just to see how Will and Lucas looked around at the decorations that you had put up for the evening.
“Cast your eyes upon cruel the oddities of nature and behold monstrous creatures from the depths of the abyss. Marvel with awe and dismay at unbelievable death-defying acts that teeter on the very brink of doom. Leave the mundane world behind, for those who visit this festival of phantasms are never the same again... Step this way... there is no turning back!”
The end of your speech was met with laughter and applause. If Dustin had landed on ‘embarrassed’ with your monologue he decided that being fed was worth the show.
“You really set all this up this afternoon?” he asked, grabbing a handful of popcorn.
“In a manner of speaking. I’ve been planning this for weeks, setting up was the easy part.” you explained before turning back to his friends. “Why the fuck are you all the way up there, Will?”
Will laughed, and rubbed the back of his neck. “Growth spurt about a year ago.”
“God, you’re all tall now.” you said. “How dare you. You’re supposed to stay exactly the same as you were in my memories. Small and in middle school.”
“We’re going to be sophomores in the fall.” Mike pointed out.
“Illegal. Not allowed.” you shook your head. “Try again.”
Your nerves were calming down now that your party was here and being fed. You had overmade the spread for the night, but that just meant that there’d be leftovers for lunch later. As the five of you caught up in the kitchen, you felt yourself relaxing and excited to start the game. You didn’t have to impress them, they knew what to expect with you as the dungeon master. You’d already told them what you expected for this campaign in your notes that you had sent.
But there was a part of you that wanted to impress them. The small voice in the back of your head that kept whispering that if you ran this campaign well enough, then maybe- well, you weren’t sure what. It wouldn’t change what happened with your last party, but you’d feel better.
Right?
This wasn’t going to be like before. These were good kids, who wouldn’t bring any drama to the table.
You were going to be okay.
Once everyone had their fill, you ushered them to the table, where you had set up the game.
“Before you take your seats, I’ll need to see your tickets.” you said with a wide grin, putting on your best ringleader's voice. “You do have tickets, correct?”
There was a scramble as the boys pulled out the tickets you had worked so hard on to present them to you.
Lucas was the first to hand his over and you took it, ripped it in half and handed it back, offering him a seat at the table. It pained you to tear up your work, but the look on their faces was worth it. When he took his seat, you reached into a small bag that you had set in the middle of the table and handed over a small set of brand new dice.
“Holy shit.” Lucas immediately dumped them out and picked up the D20. The dice were purple and green, a custom job from the only person from your last party that you still talked to.
“Not bad, huh?” you said, feeling proud of the way he looked at his new prize. “I thought they fit the theme of the game.”
Will was next, followed by Mike. Each ticket was ripped and handed back to the boys and you directed them on where to sit. Each ticket came with a brand new set of dice, and the excitement of seeing the boys with their new toys added a bandaid to your bruised heart.
Then it was Dustin’s turn.
You looked at him.
He looked at you.
You held out your hand. “Ticket, please.”
Dustin laughed nervously. “So, about that...”
“Dustin, you live here!” you gasped, but your smile only grew wider. “You have no ticket? You lost it?!” Despite your scolding, you were giggling maniacally with glee. “My money was on Mike for losing his ticket.”
“Hey!”
“I didn’t lose it!” Dustin said defensively, glaring at his friends who were snickering at him. “I just- I might have uh...”
You clapped him on the shoulder. “Well, there is good news and bad news.” you said. “The good news is that you will still be allowed to play, and you will eventually get your set of dice.”
“And the bad news....?”
“All in good time, Dusty.” you said, and pushed him to his seat. “But no new dice for you. Not yet.”
Dustin groaned as you made your way to your seat. Your dm screen wasn’t anything especially interesting or fancy, just a few folders taped together with a composition notebook filled with notes for your campaign.
Just as you started to set the scene, Dustin spoke up. “Wait I- I need to use the bathroom.”
Everyone groaned and looked at Dustin.
“Seriously? You couldn’t go five minutes ago?” Lucas asked.
“I didn’t need to before!” Dustin got up and quickly ran out of the room and you sighed and paused the music, rewinding it to start over.
You looked at the clock and took a deep breath. This was fine, he had just thrown you off before you could really start. When Dustin got back, you could just start over and be fine.
As your party talked amongst themselves, you noticed headlights pulling up outside. That was weird, your aunt wasn’t supposed to be back for at least another hour or two. You heard someone walk up to the door and ring the doorbell.
Well, that couldn’t be Dustin’s mom. She wouldn’t need to knock for her own home. You got up from the table and started towards the door.
“I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT!!!” Dustin yelled as he barrelled down the hallway to the living room.
“What...?” You looked at Dustin confused before opening the door.
You turned to see the person who your cousin was staring at like a deer in the headlights, and for a brief moment, your face mirrored his in a rare moment of family resemblance.
In the backlight of the porch, you swore for three seconds that Van Halen himself had shown up at the Henderson residence. The man on your porch had long wavy hair and a fringe that almost fell into his round doe eyes. The Dio shirt hung loosely over his frame, and the denim vest on top of that made his shoulders look broad and sturdy.
He was gorgeous.
You blinked and finally realized that you were staring like a creep.
“Hi....?” You said. “Can I help you...?”
“Eddie!” Dustin said, which was suddenly echoed by your party as everyone suddenly got up from the table to greet this person.
Eddie... wait, was this...?
“You made it!” Dustin said.
“Dude, you invited Eddie to play? Why didn’t you say anything?” Will asked.
“Yes, Dustin, why didn’t you say anything?” You asked, looking at your cousin as you were all but shoved out of the way as the boys invited Eddie in. You could handle adding an extra player, sure, but Dustin hadn’t warned you about inviting anyone at all, let alone his oh so talented dungeon master from school.
After spending so much time setting everything up, you weren’t feeling thrilled about the wrench in your evening.
Dustin looked at you sheepishly, and looked between you and Eddie. By his expression, he hadn’t been warned that you were unaware that he was coming either.
And now, here you were, surrounded by children who all expected you to allow their old dungeon master to play. A dungeon master who, by all accounts, took the rules seriously.
Eddie, reached into his pocket and pulled out the ticket that you had crafted for Dustin.
“Hi, I uh, have a ticket.” he said waving it.
You snatched the ticket out of his hand, a bit harder than you meant to. It wasn’t his fault, but this did annoy you.
You looked over the ticket, pretending to examine it, as if trying to decide if it was real or not before looking up at him.
“And who are you?” you asked.
“Eddie.” he said, crossing his arms and looking you up and down.
“No.”
“No?”
“Who are you?” you asked again slower, waving the ticket in the same way that he had.
You could feel everyone’s eyes on you and Eddie, and despite the anxiety roaring in your stomach you held your ground as you sized him up. It would be a lot easier if he wasn’t taller than you and genuinely looked intimidating. You had never seen such intense brown eyes before.
He seemed to understand what you were asking. “My name is Eddie, and I’m a level five bard who heard about a carnival in town that might be stealing souls. I’ve come to take a look for myself.”
Shit. That was a good answer.
You offered your name and ripped the ticket in half, handing it back to him. For a split second he looked shocked, and then hurt before you stepped aside and motioned to your table. He looked even more like Van Halen when he smiled at you.
“So, Henderson, you didn’t warn the dungeon master you were adding a new body to the table?” Eddie asked.
“It slipped my mind.” Dustin said, looking at you nervously.
“Oh did it?” you asked. Moving behind your flimsy screen. “So you gave away your ticket and invited someone without asking. You must really be wanting your character to be targeted, huh? Go get the guest a chair.”
Dustin returned a moment later with an extra chair and everyone adjusted themselves to fit around the small table. It was already cramped before, as it wasn’t like Dustin and his mom needed a lot of space, but now it was nearly shoulder to shoulder.
You made a mental note to try and find a bigger table for games, or maybe a different place to host. All this set up had just been planned for this one session. You didn’t think you’d have the time when you started up with the job.
Now, with no more distractions you turned the music back on and took a deep breath. Alright, Dustin didn’t have a ticket. You had planned for that, hoped for that even. Having an extra person at the table wasn’t a big deal either, you had people come in and out of games all the time. You breathed out any annoyance you had for the surprise. It wasn’t like it was Eddie’s fault that you hadn’t been warned and he came prepared with a character and a simple back story.
With all eyes on you, you set the stage for the campaign. You set them all in a small village where everyone, except Dustin, had been sent an invitation to a carnival. It didn’t take long for the party to realize that the tickets were magic and probably a little bit cursed.
“As agents of the Department of Occult Research, or DOOR, magic like this isn’t new to you.” you explained.
“So, we’re some sort of government research department?” Eddie asked, fiddling with one of his dice. “Huh, that’s not exactly the usual fantasy setting I’m used to.”
“If Dustin had tried to do you any favors, he would have also given you the notes about what to expect with this game.” you said, shooting Dustin a look.
“Don’t worry, it’ll be fun.” Lucas said, looking over at Eddie. “We’ve played with her before.”
“I want to ask around to see if anyone knows anything about this carnival.” Will said before the conversation became more derailed.
You guided everyone through the town, allowing them to talk to NPCs and gather information about this mysterious carnival. Once darkness had settled over the village, you took your time describing as a fog rolled into the town and the villagers boarded up their windows and doors.
Those with tickets were able to enter the fairground easily, but Dustin’s character needed to sneak in, and almost died in the process. It was a nice little bit of karma.
You described the Midway and gave everyone the chance to play games, and unlock the mystery of the carnival. Once you got into the groove of storytelling, you were finally starting to relax.
Well, until Will wanted to cast a spell.
You grabbed your notes and flipped through the handbook to look at the spell in question. “Alright, roll for me.” you said.
Will dropped the dice on the table. “That’s... 17.”
“Modifiers?”
He shook his head.
“Perfect, you manage to cast the spell successfully and-”
“Wait, what about the components?” Eddie asked, messing with his D4.
You looked over your haphazard DM screen. “What about them?”
Eddie didn’t even look at you, choosing to direct his attention to Will, which kind of pissed you off. “Do you have the components for that spell?” He asked.
You took a deep breath and tried to remind yourself that Dustin hadn’t given him the rundown of your house rules. Still, you weren’t thrilled how he had ignored you to talk to Will.
“I don’t run the components rule, Eddie.” you said, saying his name a bit louder to get his attention. He looked at you now as you stood up from behind your screen. “Did anyone bring a copy of the notes I sent?”
When no one had, you sighed and flipped through your notebook that was holding every piece of information about your campaign. Wincing internally, you grabbed the pages that you had carefully written out your house rules and ripped the two pages out.
“Since Dustin did you a disservice and didn’t give you any warning at all about this, here are the rules we’re playing by.” you said, as he took the pages, his eyes scanning your chicken scratch handwriting. He looked confused as he read everything over, but you just wanted to get back to the game.
The rest of the evening went by as successfully as you could have hoped. You led the party through a house of mirrors where they fought an evil clown and retrieved more clues about the mysterious carnival. It wasn’t everything you had wanted to do with the session, but with how rusty you were, you weren’t going to complain.
“Alright, and I’m done.” you said after describing how Lucas had taken down the clown, turning it to dust. “We’ll pick this back up next week.”
You stood up and stretched, as everyone started gathering their things. Looking at the clock, you had a little bit of time to start cleaning up before your aunt got home. Take down decorations, pack up food, do dishes, and go over notes for next week while it was still fresh. Simple.
“So, are you coming back next week?” you asked Eddie. Despite the minor hiccups, Eddie had been a passionate player, and had no trouble getting into character. There was that minor issue where he seemed to struggle with the idea that these kids were in your party now. You didn’t hold it against him. You just kept reminding yourself that Eddie had been their DM for almost a year, was clearly more experienced than you were, and the kids did have a strong bond with him. You hadn’t been in town for years and were just getting back on your feet.
It was fine. Not anyone’s fault.
Maybe Dustin’s.
“Do I need another ticket?” Eddie asked, grabbing his dice.
You shook your head with a small smile. “If I gave you one, would you give it to someone else?” you asked, eyeing Dustin who just groaned.
“If I did, I’d warn you that I was subbing someone in.” Eddie grabbed the top of Dustin’s head and shook it.
“Look, I’m sorry, okay?” Dustin said. “I got caught up in everything and forgot!”
“Don’t worry, one day I’ll forgive you and you’ll earn your shiny new dice set.” you teased.
Grumbling something under his breath, he and his friends grabbed their things and started packing up their backpacks to head home.
“The rest of the campaign will probably happen on Wednesdays or Thursdays.” you said, grabbing a piece of scrap paper and jotting down the number to the Henderson home. He might have already had the number, but you had no way to know that. Plus, with you spending the rest of the summer here, you weren’t exactly wanting to spend every moment of your free time hanging out with a group of kids that couldn’t drink or drive. Eddie would at least be an age appropriate friend.
Okay yeah, and he was really fucking attractive and you wanted to give your number to a cute boy. Could anyone really blame you for that? Sure, there had been some points during the game where you and him and butt heads a little, but you were sure that since he had your house rules it would go smoother next week.
Eddie took the paper and put it in his jacket pocket. “And should I dress up next week to match?” he asked, glancing up at your hat.
In all the stress and excitement, you had actually forgotten that you were meeting this person dressed up in a cheap Ring Leader costume that had been made specifically for entertaining the children. Blood rushed to your face and you crossed your arms pretending that you weren’t feeling just a tad bit embarrassed.
“By all means, dress up.” you said with a shrug. “I’m very generous with my players for being creative. I’m not above giving out inspiration to those who impress me. Or bribe me.”
You liked the way Eddie grinned at you, and there was a look in his eyes that said that he was up to any challenge you’d throw at him. “I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.”
“I told you I should have brought my robe and wizard hat!” you heard Will say to Mike.
“Shut up, it would have been dorky!” Mike responded.
“Do you two not see what she’s wearing right now? If there was a time for you to let yourself be a dork then it would be with her campaign.” Lucas added with a shake of his head.
“I can hear you all, you know.” You said loudly. “Keep it up and I’ll start making it personal during the game.”
“Dude, let’s go before we piss her off.” Mike said, practically pushing Will and Lucas out the door, Dustin following behind to see his friends off.
“I’ll take that as my cue to leave.” Eddie said, offering his hand. “Not bad for a first session.”
“Thanks.” you took his hand, and his handshake was surprisingly strong. He wasn’t trying to crush your hand or anything, but you could feel how firm it was.
With a promise to call you to find out when the next session would be, Eddie turned and left. You followed out to the porch, watching as his van pulled out of the driveway and disappeared down the street.
Fuck, you were exhausted now. You had forgotten how much mental work went into running the game. You figured you had just enough energy to clean up before passing out and sleeping until noon.
By the time you finally made it to your bed, you felt braindead. The past few days were catching up to you now. In such a short time you had made the long drive to Hawkins, set up in a new room far from home, realized that the kids you knew were no longer kids, and might have made a new friend.
That night, your dreams were filled with thoughts of fighting against evil clowns with Eddie Van Halen while Will criticized your battle outfit.

idol!gf is in an all-boys group (txt)
a/n: such a fun request!! really made me think hehe, hope you like it!!
warnings/genre: she/her pronouns for the reader/references reader is a female, slight jealousy but nothing serious, mostly fluff/crack
Tumblr media
yeonjun
-hyper protective but not possessive LMAO, just think of a mom looking after her kid
-boys will be boys but in the way he doesn’t want your members teasing you or not picking up after themselves
-always texts you to make sure your members are treating you fairly
-honestly he’s pretty close friends with most of them, always joking around on how they have to make sure to watch themselves around you
-“touch her and I’ll tell dispatch about you and that girl last friday” which is mostly a joke :)) (not to jun tho)
-at first it’ll take him a second to get used to, mainly because one co-ed groups this out of proportion are practically unheard of, and two because you’re his little baby and he doesn’t want you to be w a bunch of stinky guys 24/7
-probably makes sure they all can cook and clean and are worshipping the ground you walk on like the good boyfriend he is <3
soobin
-becomes the pseudo-leader of your group now
-first he has TXT, and now your group is like his second batch of babies LOL
-“no I’m not going to convince your manager to do that-y/n! don’t enable them!!”
-doesn’t really care all that much about you dorming/working with a bunch of guys, he gets your job and concept and trusts you whole heartedly because you trust him
-randomly visits your dorms and is like 🧍”are you all eating well”
-actually no he just randomly spawns anywhere you guys are at and is like 🧍🧍”did you drink water btw I brought water”
-likes to tease but he’s just like a dad at a breakfast table “since your concept is more masculine these days, I think next comeback should be bubblegum pop”
-v supportive of you and your members :)
beomgyu
-at first he didn’t like it, but now he’s fine with it and loves to joke abt it LOL
-“I can’t believe the love of my life is constantly with other men…” “gyu I am single-handedly paying for our Amazon prime account rn don’t even”
-he can be kinda sensitive about how much time and attention you spend on your members, but that’s mainly because he likes being your one and only!
-but he also likes to make fun of u w your members 💀 “did u guys take y/n because u felt bad or…”
-always makes sure he’s never being too mean w you <3 just wants to make people laugh
-likes to stand in your doorway w your members in the dorms like 🧍🧍🧍🧍, you’re not sure why they do this, your working theory is that they only have one communal brain cell
-but even w all his jokes and dramatics, he loves and supports you wholeheartedly <3 (as long as you make sure to love and support him back) (please don’t leave him) (he’s so in love w u)
taehyun
-“so sorry you have to live w y/n.” -him, when you were put into your group
-he looks out for you a lot, just because he knows how some idols can be and how the industry is always looking to cause trouble
-watches twitter like a hawk for any negative things about your name and makes sure to report it on all of his 999+ accounts made to make sure your group’s tag is nice and clean
-he trusts your members because you trust them, and he obviously trusts you not to do anything stupid (relationship-wise. he trusts you to do a lot of stupid things), but he always makes sure they’re helping you in the dorms or when you’re performing
-“don’t make y/n clean the cushions, that’s your mess!” and is just standing there like -_- while u laugh, hiding behind your muscle man boyfriend <3
-you were the one who spilt the chips
hueningkai
-if anything I think he’s just very confused
-“but why is there literally only one girl…why not two? or three?? why not all girls?? oh wait, that’s just a girl group”
-not really the type to go out of his way to befriend your members, but he likes to be on good terms with them, he just gets lowkey shy when he has to talk to them
-not even an insecurity thing, it’s just a hyuka thing
-“tell your member I said he did really good at that countdown stage” “Kai, he’s two feet away from us” “…I’m scared”
-clowns you if there’s a noticeable height difference between you and your members, thinks it’s so funny (it is not that funny)
-probably leaves stuffed animals in your dorms that block out a whole half of your bed so none of your members lay down near you LMAO
-has a lot of respect for you and your group, but mainly you <3

Just a Rant
I don’t think I told you guys how hard it was to get my kids registered for school this year. Both kids had their own issues that seemed to clog the system so they required dozens, and I do mean dozens of emails to counselors, registrars, principals, the school district, an educational lobbyist, the state DOE. And this was in the midst of finding about my husband’s cancer and what treatment would be.
Today one school called and said they needed health forms they never told me about. Then a teacher who runs a program at one school wanted me to switch my other kid back to his program. Details I handled, but like please, oh please let this be done. It is taking so much of my attention. Also, the kids are taking some online classes through the state and haven’t been assigned teachers yet, so we’re twiddling our thumbs (an old-fashioned euphemism I’m repackaging to mean f%*king video games!) instead of doing school work.
Then the dentist appointment that was supposed to happen before school had to be rescheduled because the dentist’s entire computer system crashed. There’s an orthodontist appointment next week too, a new addition to our busy lives. And my husband has treatment on Friday.
When am I supposed to be able to work?
When am I supposed to be able to have some time to focus on my goals and my health?
It’s not just me crying for space in my life. Things like my husband’s pain are alarms saying: you might have to be the sole provider at any minute. And I literally cannot do that now. I need a chance to complete my project and get it to market. I cannot take care of everybody and build a career out of nothing at the same time. Besides preferring this kind of work, I can’t commit to a traditional job right now because my caregiving and mom schedules are just too demanding and unpredictable. I have no help. My friends will step in during an emergency. My in-laws did nada during our first cancer journey. My family and my dearests and on the opposite coast. Nobody is ever going to pick up the slack but me.
Still, work has to happen. These little scares, because that’s what I have to assume my husband’s pain is, feels like the Universe snapping me to attention and warning me that my time before the catastrophe is running out.
And my brain.
I’m having more and more slips. I can’t remember words. Say wrong words. Can’t access memories from a couple weeks ago. Had a couple of spells when I couldn’t walk. I need to have some calm, peace, and open stretches of time to calm my nervous system. I felt like I was 95% better, but now I’ve fallen to 85- 88%. It worries me.
(I will say I have an odd relationship with my brain, because as much as I struggle with the detail, conceptually, I’ve never felt so smart. It honestly feels like my brain damage has both good and bad sides to it. it’s counterintuitive, I know, but I think I’m right.)
The dentist just showed me I cracked a tooth from clenching. I wake up in full body clenches many nights. I cannot be mindful when I am unconscious.
Many people in my support system are educators so they are in the back to school overwhelm. There isn’t anything they could say or do to help so I’m just sitting here with very big feelings. I’m supposed to ground my husband and protect my kids.
Yet again a mom is asking: Who is looking out for me?
.
.
And I am worried about what the doctor will say tomorrow. It could be very bad or relatively ok. Even ok would bother me since it’s so much aggravation and added stress for nothing. But of course, added stress for something is much worse. Aaaaaaahg!
Good night. I’m grabbing my ice packs and a book about chocolate and praying for sweet dreams.

on most days of my life I absolutely hate and will complain to anyone who listens about dramas releasing weekly (because I am an impatient monster) except the day my show releases!
it’s my demon fridays besties !!!
love the fact that it’s a Friday Saturday release schedule so that I can cry a bit more for my Sunday sadness moments
the intro cut from yoojung’s eye to song kang is so beautiful actually
LMAOOO I forgot how during the weekly release pattern you sometimes lose the rhythm of the show for a second because Do Dohee going with the tv tropes classic ‘everyone I love is dead’ 😔😞😭 made me just bust out laughing 😭
and you’ll die because of me too! 😔
‘i don’t care’ 👿🤷‍♂️
two gorgeous people kissing
the droplets suspended in the air looks so beautiful
aww they look adorable! wet little puppies 😭
Tumblr media
medical undressing but with actual dressing time 🩹
oh they’re making out again, that’s actually pretty realist for kdrama standards 😂
most of them go designated kiss over, back to talking; here they’re actually making out again, like normal people do
song kang has a heart warming smile
lmfaoooo we went from fun time to eerily creepy clock room
we’re back in their room and i adore them !!!
my man went from ‘humans suck! losers!!! boooo 🍅🍅🍅 to they’re not that bad actually, love is kinda cool and i sorta get them and while we’re at it can i get a couples set dinner with my wife?!’
and let me just couple bike with my wife as well!
i will always be a sucker for anyone who’s down for cheesy things! #mypeople
wait woah my sister was going that in heels !!!
Tumblr media
this fuckass quality…. giphy you will crumble !!!
they’re actually truly having the world’s most loveliest date. just having fun and taking walks and admiring the breeze !
same sister, if I saw someone that beautiful irl I’d also thank them 😭 [context : guwon says thankyou to the barista for his couple coffee set and she’s like no thank you 😻]
him saying do dohee always takes me out
they’re so cute y’all, they’re slow dancing
Tumblr media
i’d be kinda surprised if there’s no criminal from the eldest son’s family like they rank a little higher on the possible murderer scale for me than everyone else. seems misleading rn because all shows tend to do this but y’all need to be in checked 😭
my short term memory is memorying because I was wondering why he was following her into her office and then remembered he’s her bodyguard 💀
I mean she didn’t have to give up everything but if it makes her happy!
two gorgeous people in one frame!
y’all are not subtle at allll with the wrist thing at all 😭 how many times has the seokhoon seen it already?
I adore the wolf gang lmaooo
Tumblr media
lmaoooo they’re so dramatic, I love them!
the beautiful theatre dancer has a point and doesn’t have a point at the same time 😭 jin gayeong you’re beautiful, go live your life !!!
my sister said one shot while all she poured miss shin was foam 😭
miss shin I <3 u
doo hee the nut job 💀
lmaooo did he rush to her because he was happy to be called husband lmao, my man looks shook seeing them drunk 😂
he said my wife is embarrassing let me take her home and then she called him a blinding sun and he just glowed (he’s just like me fr)
all of the happiness and love he was uncomfortably bottling up inside in denial is coming out right now and I love it.
she could ask him for a toothbrush and he’d give her a loving smile and do it
cuties
poor boggy I omg 😭
your honour, this demon is whipped !!! 😭💞
the bag on his neck lol
it has taken me over an hour atp to finish this episode lmao maybe I could’ve written this later
Tumblr media
miss shin is a mood
my wolf gang is back
the dad’s just laughing after choking someone ? 😭 this family…
it’s always fun to watch the murderers be hunted 🤷‍♂️
Tumblr media
oh he killed his mom too, he was my first guess but the son was a strong case too
this cartoon villain ass laugh
my married lovebirds have a pretty strong knit game like his cardigan rn and hers during the sprinkler kiss scene
slay you found the bug
the wife seems normalish compared to her son and husband
damn did they vanish because of the card thing
woah
him knocking at the cardboard door 😭
did they fumble the continuity or something changed when they were walking at the bar because our homeless mystery queen’s teeth are back to normal rn
is she god
need that snapping finger power so bad like I also want a galaxy in my room thankyou
butterflies just follow song kang in tv shows
the second male lead kinda needs to let it go, bae it’s not that serious
why would the theatre girlie just tell that to him flat out 😭
honeymoon period over

Hey Elias
Is the anon with the terrible father
This week he was drinking as usual. I didn’t hear him pick up on mom much, but I know he did because mom told me about it. He picked on her because she was snoring (while he also snores and even louder than her) and also made another comment that she could find something smart of her phone instead of stupidity. He also changed the products for cleaning cause he still had a problem with the products mom buys. Then on Saturday, me and mom were picking out leaves from the garden. He said the weather should be sunny, but it wasn’t. In fact it was windy. But we did pick a huge part of the leaves anyway. Then he approached us saying that the rakes he uses are better for picking out leaves (cause he was also doing something in the garden) and mom only said that the weather isn’t too good for picking out leaves and that he was mistaken about it. As soon as that happened he attacked her with words:"Then go lay down on the couch" and said that we should start pick out the leaves since the week started, when they were all wet and overall it was raining almost the whole week. Also mom did pick some leaves on Friday and made a few piles already for a head-start and he said she should leave it for tomorrow and let the leaves dry. The same leaves that weren’t even dry on Saturday when we started picking them out. Not only he’s stupid but a hypocrite. And on Sunday he pissed me off with a comment. Cause my back started hurting because of the wind, cause while picking the leaves my shirt didn’t want to stop riding up and I had to adjusted it. You know what he said when I said that my back hurts? That I don’t stretch much and that I need to move more. Says he who has his stomach stretched out like a huge football ball and who most of the time lays in bed or the bathtub or sits in his office doing work when he’s at home. Can’t even feel bad or be hurting cause not only he won’t give you support, he will make you feel even worse. And today, mom said that my sister didn’t go to school because she doesn’t feel well and my father immediately went:"Oh, she’s pretending again. Is like that every Monday. But you let her do it and now you have it the way you have it." Then I opened the fridge cause I wanted to see what there is inside, so I could eat some breakfast. I was standing in front of it a bit more and the idiot said:"Close the fridge. Don’t stand there for half an hour, thinking about what to get out from it. Why do you even stand there in front of it so much?" Dunno, maybe because I need to see what’s inside and have a moment to think what to get for breakfast? And is not like I will leave the fridge open for I don’t know how long. I will close it if I will need more time to think. Geez (Good thing he’s so perfect and does everything flawlessly. Oh Boo-hoo 🥺)
Hopefully I will be able to find a good job soon and move out. This dumbass doesn’t deserve us. The way he treats me, mom and my sister, is always unhappy and ungrateful and is always looking for something he can pick up on and just bitch about it overall.
Yes, I am and will stay salty about it. This man just makes me feel "Ugh"🙄 in short
Sorry about all the negative talk about my father. I know this is tiring. Take as much time as you need to answer this ask. And remember about taking a break and have a good rest. And to eat something good.
Anyway, have a good day/ night ✨
(I’m writing this ask again cause earlier I wrote it and tried to send in but my Wi-Fi messed up for a moment and it didn’t got send)
ANON AKWWKSUUD I HATE YOUR DAD SM 💔💔💔 I hope by the time this ask is posted, you'll be feeling slightly better? hes always doing some stupid ass shit brah
your dad’s behavior is beyond frustrating. it’s infuriating. it’s like he looks for any excuse to put himself on a pedestal, but what does he really do? he’s lounging around and throwing out hypocritical remarks, and expecting everyone else to cater to his standards that change whenever it suits him ?? fuck him
how dare he sit there and lecture you about moving more when he’s literally the least active person in the house? 💀 crazy. instead of asking what’s wrong or showing even a shred of concern, he’s SO quick to accuse and blame
your mom deserves so much better. he doesn’t just criticize her choices—he actively undermines her. complaining about the cleaning products she buys, changing things just to assert control, dismissing her effort in the garden, etc, like she’s not already doing her part ??? she’s out there doing work, in less-than-ideal weather no less, trying to do her best, and he has the gall to act like it’s not enough. what an asshole he is
+ the fridge thing ?? give me a break. god forbid you take an extra second to decide what you want to eat. it’s not like you’re standing there for an hour with the door wide open or something, but he just HAS to find a way to make a snide remark. the man clearly doesn’t know how to let things go, he HAS to be the loudest, most critical voice in the room.
it’s okay to feel angry about all of this. you’re not overreacting, and you’re not wrong for being pissed off. you're better than me because i would've turned homicidal. you’re dealing with someone who refuses to see how his actions and words hurt the people around him, and it’s draining asf. you're so strong anon
none of this is your fault. the way he acts says more about him than it does about you or your mom. his constant negativity isn’t a reflection of your worth—it’s a reflection of his own insecurities or whatever fuckass issues he’s dealing with but refuses to confront. you and your mom don't deserve this treatment, and the fact that you’re still there helping her, standing up for yourself, and holding things together shows just how strong and resilient you really are. well done <3
lean on your mom when you need to, and keep venting to me when it gets too much. you’re not alone in this, and even if he’s not giving you the support you deserve, you’re doing an amazing job of pushing through and staying grounded despite it all. hold onto that strength, and don’t let his negativity dim who you are
take care of yourself anon, you're very strong for all of this

Day 5 - November 15th
Thankfully, the work deadline is over and I can have a little less stress in my life.
I wasn’t super hungry starting off the day so kept it light.
Breakfast - 2 buttered eggos
Snack - Clementine
I feel like I have been doing a descent job in incorporating a fruit for either breakfast or a morning snack this week.
I get off at noon(ish) on Fridays so lunch was a grab to eat in the car. I got a Cesar salad wrap from our office/building market - it was the best option available. However, I also got some chips and dip to go with it from my Target pick up order.
Traffic stepped in at the end of eating lunch when I was still eating the chips and dip because I had to slam on my breaks and the dip flew off the seat to the floor THANKFULLY SITTING FACEUP AND NO SPILLS! So, I rolled up the chips and was like I’m done.
Today I was going to moms after work (after picking up @hrstories1234 and our dog). She didn’t feel like cooking and neither did I - so even tho it wasn’t food from home I choose to order a Jersey Mike sub - I figured it was a descent option. Mom actually had us stop to get Captain D’s for her and it smelled so good - but I decided I didn’t need the fried food so held off and stuck to my plan.
Oh, but as we were heading to moms we did stop and get Starbucks because I promised Hayden we’d get one for the drive - plus I was la tired.
Late night treats - 4 Nutter Butter Cookies
Super Late Snack - Hot Chocolate/French Vanilla coffee (from gas station because driving home at midnight from moms)
That wraps up the day - honestly food wasn’t that bad and I was never stuffed just satisfied. I think not feeling stuffed after eating is a big deal for me this week.
I have also noticed at night I’m not food full tired - I am just tired from the day. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it does to me.
Didn’t take too many photos, but enjoy what I have. lol

wassup, im back with (posting about) trying to get my life back together
i didnt quit the 100 days of struggling, or whatever, i was really just, well, struggling. to be alive, i guess.
yesterday was the peak of me feeling the most unstable over the last week or two, i think it was mostly due to my period being around the corner, so hormones are going crazy and you know the old shenanigan of - you know that your period is coming, when you start feels borderline suicidal and depressed.
ngl, it was scary as hell, because i think it was 40/60 of why i was feeling so down - 40 being the initial struggle, 60 being the fear coming from "i dont want for things to scale back to how they once were". because how they once were is best described the one sinlge word - hell.
anyway, the drama aside, i am now feeling much much better, thankfully, and i have a more positive outlook on life. at least for now.
so, we're missing the days from the 4th of July. insert the eagle scream. i will try to recount them from my memory to the best of my abilities, more so for myself and to keep track of days.
3/100 days of getting my life back together
Friday, July 5, 2024
quite frankly, I don't remember where the day went. i looked around for some notes or whatever else scattered in my place and im not sure what exactly was i doing. the only highlight of that day, was that i finally payed off the first paying for my dentist check and i think that is the most information I have. i think i woke up at 2:30 pm, so that would explain the short day. i remember studying a little bit in the evening and it probably was the software engineering notes, aka SE, since i think i was studying in bed and i do notes for se on my tablet.
4/100 days of getting my life back together
Saturday, July 6, 2024
on this day i met up with my friends for some socialization, i guess. we talked and had some boba. i studied on my way there and back, which came up to about an hour of studying in total. the rest of the day is, again, a mystery to me. maybe i should start keeping a journal to help myself. because i freaking bought one on that day fdskflsd
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5/100 days of getting my life back together.
Sunday, July 7, 2024
okay, here i was really happy, because for the first time in weeks i managed to not only wake up at 8 am, but also went to bed somewhere between 22-23 at the clock. granted, i fell asleep an hour later, after i woke up, because i was suddenly hit with a wave of sleepiness and tiredness, but, i guess, one small step at a time. i mean it did fuck up my sleeping schedule for today, because i ended falling asleep somewhere between 2 and 3 am, but we have what we have.
the highlight of yesterday was finally finishing up a job i was postponing for MONTHS, which was printing out all the documents we would need, for my mom to apply for a job. i won't be going into too much details of why and etc, but yeah. at the end of the day i had 8 copies of 4 documents printed out, and was feeling more or less good about it.
at the second 4 copies batch printer decided to start playing games, and first chewed on the paper it was printing, and then i decided to try a new approach to try to speed things up, but it only ended up damaging one of the copies, so i had to redo that. but at the end of the day, the job was done.
i didn't study at all that day, because as i said at the start of this post - this was the day, when my head decided, that it's a great time to go sad-mode.
i also started taking some vitamins that have been laying around for a few months now, because i feel really crappy and i need some help, that maybe they can provide, before i get my eating habbits and everything else back in place. for now i am hoping they could be my crutches.
oh, and also i did some yoga to stretch my body. nothing huge, but i guess it's something good?
6/100 days of getting my life back together
Monday, July 8, 2024
and now we are back to present day. woke up at about 11:30 or so. played a little bit of guitar for the first time since MONTHS, i started learning the scientist, we'll see how it goes. i figured to reward myself, i would put a new fun sticket on it, if i finished learning it.
anyway, it is now 15:35 as i am writing this, i will be now cleaning up a little bit and getting back to studying.

Part 7
Warnings: Plot Fluff
It’s Friday and the soft launch of Shuriri has been excellent. Everyday the girls learn more about each other and they have been forming such cute habits with each other. Ri has fallen into a habit of kissing Shuri’s lips for everything. While Shuri always wants to hold hands or touch in some way. The entire school knows they belong to each other. “Girl, what are you and Bae doing for early dismissal?” Ri is putting up her books and grabbing her bag as MJ pouts on the side of her.
“We are going to the mall. My Mom set my nail appointment for today. Shuri insisted on taking me then we may do some window shopping.” “Ugh jealous but have fun my Mom wants me home. Something about needing to clean my room. Anyway I am curious. I know your Mother is ecstatic about you dating.” Riri panics because she has not told her Mother nor Sharon yet. She’s been so wrapped up in Shuri that she has skipped their sister talks the last few nights.
A warm sensation takes over Ri from behind but she is stiff from her panic still. “Hey Baby Girl...Did I startle you?” Riri chuckles at how observant her girlfriend is; it's sort of annoying how much she picks up on. “Shuri Baby it was not you.” Tipping back, Ri looks up at Shuri from below wrapped in her arms. “I just remembered that I haven't talked to my Mother or Sister about us yet. They may kill me.” Shuri nods and smiles. “Yikes! I hope they dont it would break my heart. How about I meet them when I take you out Sunday.” “Sunday? ” “Yes Rihanna Williams, I want to take you on a date Sunday afternoon. Dress cute but comfy for me please.” Riri loves when Shuri is assertive with her but in the gentle way she does it. Ri kisses Shuri on the lips. “I suppose we are going on a date Sunday. But please listen closely on how to get them to like you.”
Shutting the lockers and saying goodbye, they talk about how to prepare for “meeting the parents”. Shuri lost her Father also so she knows not to bring that up. All the facts are helpful. Pulling up to the mall with music blasting the rest of their day is full of more surprises. “So your Mom cannot wait to meet me?” Riri’s warm tone cuts through the music. “She has been expecting to meet you for years now. I talk about you all the time. Now that we are dating, finally she is over the moon.” Turning to face her girlfriend, Ri's eyes are soft, taking Shuri’s hand and she kisses the back of it. “Well I can’t wait to meet her and let her know how good a job she did with raising you.” “Oh please don’t she might cry. Also I have to change what I want to say to your Mom now. I can’t tell her how sexy her daughter is.” Riri pushes Shuri away as they laugh and get out of the car.
While at the nail shop Riri lets Shuri pick out the color she gets on her nails and is surprised to see Shuri wanted to join her and get a manicure. She even gets her right pinky painted to match. Walking out of the shop Shuri hears her name being called. “Yo Shuri! Shuri!.” It’s Xavier. He has been acting so odd the past few days. Making rude comments, about Shuri not knowing how to handle Ri and how she needs a “real man” the attitude is giving real predator vibes. To keep from beating his ass Shuri just has not spoken to him as much but it seems she couldn’t avoid him today. “Xavier what’s good.” Shuri’s hold on Riri tightens and her jaw tenses up. Xavi is wearing a sinister half smile with his eyes set on Ri. Something is not right, even Shuri’s touch does not ease her anxious feeling she gets with his eyes on her.
“What’s good with you? We haven’t spoken in a few days. I know you not icing me out over some bad jokes. You are my best friend. Can you at least just introduce me to your shawty?” Shuri is keeping her body between the two, cutting her eyes at him hard. She is pissed because she can feel how nervous Ri is. It’s time to go but what is the best way? “Hmm that’s interesting considering you've been making all types of comments about her since Tuesday. But I’ll play along. Ri this is Xavier Dalton a homie of mine and Xavi this is my Girlfriend Rihanna Williams.” Riri nods, saying hello tensely. “Hello Rihanna damn you fine. I can’t even believe Shuri was able to get you.” “That’s not how..”Shuri is cut off by Riri who is none too pleased herself. “Actually Daddy knows I’m the lucky one.” Ri turns Shuri’s face to her and kisses her deeper than she ever has. Riri does not want to make a scene but she’s over the nonsense. “It was good to meet you again Javier right?” She quips once they break apart.
Xavi’s smile drops leaving him with a dumb and angry look on his face. Ri takes the lead moving them now in the opposite direction. Shuri stops them once they are out of his sight. “Either you got pissed back there or you just were feeling yourself but Damn. You can’t just kiss me like that with no warning.” Ri was proud of herself. “Maybe a little of both. His vibe was all off. I could tell he was trying to play you and you don’t deserve that.” “He’s always been a little bit of a hater but he really is mad this time. I just don’t like how he looks at you. I wanted to knock his face in.” Riri runs her hands up Shuri’s arms. Touch is genuinely her love language. “You don’t have to stoop to that level. He’s not worth it.”
“You are correct I don’t but I will for you.” Shuri Huffs “Baby you do not have to fight. I am just glad he didn’t ruin my surprise.” Shuri’s face lights up. “You have something for me?” “I do indeed have something for you. I hope you will like it ” After a short walk Shuri and Ri arrive in the tailoring section of the department store. A saleswoman meets them and hugs Riri. The woman offers to have Shuri step into a dressing room and she comes out with a beautiful black suit that is nearly a perfect fit. Shuri is in awe, turning to look at a very comfortable Riri watching her. “I hear all the major players have tunnel fits.” “Baby Girl, when did you have time to do this? How did you know my measurements?” “Rihanna stopped in last night to pick up her honors blazer and saw it. She raved about how she had to have it for a special someone.” The saleswomen answers. Beaming Riri admires her girlfriend in the mirrors. She stands right in front of Shuri running her hands up thes down the front of the blazer.
“Your measurements were not that hard to guess after your little show the other day.” Ri has an eidetic memory, it's nerd shit. The smirk on Ri’s face says it all and Shuri just kisses her quickly as the tailor completes the last adjustments.

Jo has a serious boyfriend in New York and Blair says “everyone has a boyfriend” Oh Blair! Also wow way to make her jealous Blair, it didn’t work. Jo insists he is special but her mom doesn’t think a girl her age should get that serious. Her mom is right. Which reminds me of a certain convo Blair had with her date about not planning that far ahead huh🤔 .
So her mom sends Jo to Eastland to break them up cause she doesn’t trust guys. Again is she wrong though.
“Eddie and me love each other. I am talking real love” Oh Jo! Blair asks how long they’ve been together and it’s only been 3 1/2 weeks which for a 15 year old isn’t that short but still Jo three weeks come on. “A lifetime” Blair teases her.
It also can’t be that serious since Jo had no problem trying to prove to Blair she could pick up a guy at a bar before she could. I mean sure I guess it’s just a competition but she didn’t mention it previously. When Mrs. Garrett mentioned a boy who had gotten her into trouble she indicated not like that. That he would have her stay out all night and sneak around etc.
Jo says how they met and says you know when someone is right within the first few minutes. The first five to be specific but she knew even before that. Huh sounds familiar. They were at a dance with different dates. I mean first of all Jo willingly at a dance loll sure Jan.
“We happened to look across the room at each other” and they just knew. She compares it to Saturday Night fever but on a Friday. I mean how many scenes do we have of Blair and Jo on other dates but staring at each other from across the room. The parallels start early huh.
“You know Jo you are not as tough as you pretend. I think deep down you are sensitive.” Oh Blair you have no idea. Jo threatens her asking who are you calling sensitive but Blair tells her to calm down.
“What are you so uptight about?/“A lot of things mainly you.” “Me, Why me?””Cause little by little you are moving into my space here.”
Blair has her clothes on Jo’s bed which sure is supposed to show Blair is spoiled and privileged but in the same episode she complained about sharing a room with 3 girls and isn’t getting along with Jo blaming her for what happened. So having her put her clothes on her bed even though the bunk bed is right there is well interesting. She is already friends with Natalie and Tootie so why Jo’s bed Blair? Lesbihonest.
Just like how Jo protects Blair in the jail cell when she didn’t have to. Girls who are you trying to kid huh. Just kiss already.
“It’s not easy sleeping next to Mr. Good wrench.”-Blair. I mean Blair come on. First of all the implications and secondly Blair didn’t you say you were going to marry someone who owned General Motors huh? Just checking. (Yes I am not letting this General Motors thing go just yet.) out of all the jobs why that one. Cause it’s so opposite to who she is or what huh. They also stand so close literally in every scene.
Side note we see Molly again before she vanishes which is nice. Also she would never be friends with Margo. Anyway a real privileged snob Margo is mocking Jo and finally she looses it but before she can Blair stops her and stands up for her. Throwing a pie in the girls face which even Mrs. Garrett can’t be mad at. She deserved it.
It then transitions to there room and Jo packing. Blair tells her to ignore Margo but Jo tells her it isn’t that it was just the cherry on top. That she is leaving without her bike and will hitch hike.
“But I thought what happened in the cafeteria just now would…I don’t know I thought we were in this together.” Oh Blair sweetie I told you she had it bad. I mean they act like they hate each other but they don’t literally and already after getting semi along once she sees them as a team just end me now.
“And we’re a team? Us against them?” Yes Jo that is the point duh. Also again they are referring to each other as a we huh. This also proves her “boyfriend” isn’t a great one. He doesn’t have her back but Blair sure does. These confused innocent gaybies.
Blair responds yes but Jo says she isn’t interested in being in a team, she’s a lone wolf. Blair is hurt and says she was trying to be nice. (The back tracking is real on this scene huh, when your crush doesn’t like you back ouch.) she tells her to do something nice for someone and says she broke a nail for her. Which for Blair is huge, literally.
Jo says she should be happy she’s leaving and that she will have more room for her stuff. Blair just shakes her head baffled. Which in theory should be true she apparently doesn’t like Jo and likes having room for her stuff. Yet she isn’t happy and doesn’t want her to leave. They are interrupted before she can say more.
Mrs. Garrett convinces her to stay by mentioning Jos mom. Who she in short works hard for Jo and wouldn’t quite. That her parents are divorced and it’s hard for Jo. Which reminds us of a certain someone who happens to be in the room as it happens. Finally Jo agrees to stay and before she does she turns to Blair. The girls come in and Blair tells them the “good news” Oh Blair you are in love.
As the episode ends Blair teases her with a scarf and wraps an arm around her shoulders- and that is our episode. Gay! Even with mentions of non important boyfriends. One for Jo wasn’t even a consideration for staying oh Jo be honest and dump him already. Don’t worry we will sadly see him before that though.
I also love how early on in the episode she says her mom doesn’t understand her and that her boyfriend is special. It ends with her mom being the reason she stay’s because her mom is the special one- I’m just 🥹 anyway. We love to see it. The beginning of Jo x Blair is here baby.

15 questions, 15 mutuals
I was tagged by both @madamairlock and @holy-ships-x-red-lips so I guess I should do this.
1. Are you named after anyone?
Kind of? My mom sort of named me after one of her best friends mother, but chose the Irish version of the name instead. My middle name I am not 100% sure. She once made the joke that she chose my middle name because of Princess Leia, but I am like 90% sure she was joking. But my mom is a big enough scifi nerd that I can't be certain.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Last Friday watching the Era's Tour Movie during Marjorie.
3. Do you have kids?
Nope! No plans to either.
4. What sports do you play/have played?
Is Speech and Debate in High School considered a sport?
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Never. :)
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Probably their smile or hair?
7. What’s your eye color?
I'm a brown eyed gal.
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
I definitely prefer happy endings.
9. Any talents?
I can sorta act? And sorta write. Oh! And I can untie any knot.
10. Where were you born?
Pittsburgh, PA
11. What are your hobbies?
Sooooo. I like to read and write, but I also play video games (though I've pulled back from gaming a lot for mental health reasons). I also LARP occasionally with friends and go Ghost Hunting in haunted places.
12. Do you have any pets?
I have two cats: Merry and Pippin
13. How tall are you?
5'7
14. Favorite subject in school?
I honestly loved English when I was young. In college, most of my psych classes were my favorites.
15. Dream job?
Errrrr is it awful to say my dream job is to be ridiculously wealthy so all I have to do for work is just volunteer at places and not worry about working?
15 tags: I probably won't manage 15 who haven't already been tagged before but I'll try... @telemiel, @longlivequeenvic, @leoisanaries, @themostpowerfulmagicofall, @onenerdyheart, @hummingbirdswords, @maryliciousgirl, @ryuhoshi

So I have a question about something I guess personal but idk how you would describe it. So I know in your bio it says you are 25, well, so am I and I have a husband and a beautiful baby boy (who we named Dustin btw). Everyone in my family and my friends know that I am a HUGE fan girl and my husband doesn’t care either because it’s a celebrity or fictional characters and he said he doesn’t mind as long as i don’t physically cheat on him (which I never would). Well I recently got a different job in a big corporation office and I’ve been working there for about 2 months now. I am really good friends with a few people and everyone else I get along with. Well, on Friday it was a slow day and me and a few other people were all talking about just random stuff and somehow we got on the topic of favorite movies and tv shows. Well I was saying that in October, my husband was going to take me to GA (as we are not far from GA) for a tour of where ST filmed because my husband and I are a huge fan of that show (and plus our anniversary is in October as well) and I was saying that Steve was my favorite character and plus the guy who played Steve (Joe Keery)was very gorgeous as well. well this woman (we’ll call her Marg) she is probably about 35 or 36 (her and I aren’t really good friends and she is kind of snooty tbh) told me that I shouldn’t be obsessing over random celebrities because that will make my husband mad and then he will want to cheat on me. I told her that my husband and I have an understanding when it comes to stuff like that and my husband loves me very much and would never do that to me. So then, this mother fucking bitch says and I quote “well if he was my husband, I wouldn’t do that to him” like okay bitch we all know that your marriage is on the verge of a divorce and your husband would rather play golf then to spend time with you. They have 2 kids but she had her kids (twins) when she was 19 and that’s when her and her husband got married. I told her that she needs to focus on her own marriage and stay the hell out of mine. And she then said that I need to focus on my family and that my son doesn’t need a mom who is a fan girl as I am 25 and need to grow up. Then that’s when my other co workers stepped in and said for her to chill out that what she was saying was very uncalled for. My good friend (we’ll call her Jess) said not to worry about it and she said that Marg is just very jealous of anyone who has a good marriage and who is a great mom. I smiled and said yeah I guess you are right. But that whole day and this whole weekend I have been dwelling over it because it’s in the back of my mind of what if my husband cheats on me or what if my son grows up to hate me?
I haven’t told my husband yet because I don’t want him to worry about anything. I love my husband and son more than anything in this world and I know I am not 15 anymore but I am allowed to have a life.
Is it okay for me to still be a fangirl even though I am 25 and have a family of my own?
Also so sorry that this was long. I just wanted some advice and I trust your judgement.
Oh my god! This is actually insane! Marg seems like a miserable lady, who wants to spread nothing but negativity and take away the joy and fun in other people's lives.
Why should a celebrity/fictional crush make your husband want to cheat?! That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm sure your husband doesn't mind you a being a fangirl, Jesus.
Also, 'your son doesn't need a mom who is fangirl' what 😭 she is trying to make you feel guilty and again, she's trying to take away the joy in your life.
There is nothing wrong and there is nothing childish about being a fangirl, there is no age at when you should stop being a fangirl. You can be 40 and still be a fangirl, that doesn't mean that you are childish or that you are a bad mom (what the actual fuck 😭).
Marg seems like the type of woman who thinks that just because you are married & have kids now, that you aren't allowed to have hobbies anymore. She's a miserable Karen and her opinion shouldn't matter to you at all. Fuck Marg, let her go live her miserable life and keep being the fangirl that you always were.
It's absolutely okay to be a fangirl at the age of 25 and older! My sister is 35, she has a daughter, she's a good mom and she was a fangirl all her life, there is nothing wrong with that.
You don't have to be a miserable old lady at such a young age. Keep fangirling, keep reading/writing fics for your favorite characters, keep buying merchandise. You are never too old to be a fangirl!
