jungwon has always thought of himself to be calm and confident in how he speaks and acts, but now, he's not so sure.

two of his friends, sunghoon and jake, lived up to half of their dream and finally opened a coffee shop together. was jay behind the process of it all? most definitely. but it's still theirs and they claim it very proud.

they've been telling jungwon to come in almost every day now, so he can "taste heaven" but the phrase alone made his want in going a zero.

but now that he thinks about it, he feels like a horrible friend. he should be supporting them, right? before he even thinks about how coffee never sits well with him he's on his way.

the bells on the door jingle as he walks in. sunghoon glances over and immediately puts his hands on his hips and calls out, "a lost kitten? are you here for some milk?" jungwon scoffs and goes to leave until jake claps happily and smiles as bright as the sun; jungwon sighs in defeat and walks back in.

"i'm here to support jake, do you hear me?" jungwon points a finger at sunghoon and he puts his hands up in surrender, going back to making drinks.

while he's distracted looking around the place he doesn't notice you standing at the register. he turns his head to look at the menu and for the first time, his most annoying friend sees him speechless.

sunghoon only sighs at his young friend in endearment and minds his business. he loves jungwon, and after working with you for some time, he’s grown to adore you too. him and jake have made plans on setting you up with jungwon like the best matchmakers ever but, he guesses you’re already ahead of him.

jungwon swallows harshly and walks up to order. "hi. can i get uh... um, a coffee? please?" his shoulders tense and eyes shut immediately. he already hears his friends choked laughter, he will not acknowledge them. "sorry. an iced vanilla latte with uh, almond milk.. my stomach doesn't take regular milk well haha it's like, really bad." oh my god.

"no problem!" your smile is going to make him word vomit even more. "i'm the same way actually, i get it. what size would you like?" "a medium pretty please."

he stands distraught by the counter as sunghoon makes his drink in tears. jake comes up and pats his back a few times, "i appreciate you coming in won. but oh my god, maybe you shouldn't have." he leans his head into jungwons shoulder and laughs until he's hiccuping. he really can't wait for niki to get ahold of this information.

"hey sunghoon, can i see his drink?" you whisper to him with a sharpie. "knock yourself out." he leaves to crowd a mourning jungwon and you write a message on his cup, ' visit us more!! jake and sunghoon would like it, i would too :) ♡ '

jake and sunghoon go back to their coffee shop duties and he steps up to take his drink from you. "thank you," he glances at the note, "oh. sure, i'll definitely come back. and i will probably keep this cup forever."

jungwon coming in becomes a daily thing now. he hates the way coffee makes him feel, but the way you smile and call the most simple drink the “jungwon special”, he lets his stomach suffer. and his bank account.

today he ordered two drinks. you think you’re good enough friends now to ask who it’s for but honestly you didn’t think you wanted to know. you liked his dimples that came out when he slipped on his words, the way his eyes only fixate on you even when his best friends are right there, the way he consistently comes in early and makes your mornings.

and he’s ordering two drinks, the second being so specific without looking at a note or text, he must really like this person. you can only nod and say your usual, “right away loyal customer” maybe he isn’t as loyal as you wished. does he look at other people-

“veena? um.. last week you mentioned this crazy order you like. i made a song in my head to not forget it, i’m assuming thats why you looked at me a certain way. anyway. this is for you.” he shakily hands you the drink back after discreetly writing his own note on it. he’s hoping it was discreet.

you frown unknowingly and whisper the note out loud, ‘ please keep making me coffee forever, no one does the jungwon special like you. oh wow .. this is embarrassing im sorry, i really just wanted to ask for a date ㅠㅠ ’

“yes, date. yes.” you look up at him happily and a little shocked. he jumps up and walks to the counter and sets his drink down, cupping both of your cheeks with his freezing hands. “this is the best day of my life. i’m sorry my hands are wet um, i was nervous you’d say no. oh i’m a mess i’m sorry.” you smile regardless and pull his hands off to hold them, “i’m happy jungwon, so happy. i promise to make you coffee forever.”

Pairing: Idol!Niki x OC

Summary: Jiwoo and Niki were in a relationship. Niki had a tendency of doing as he felt, which in this case meant bringing home a kitten, to Jiwoo's apartment since Jay and Jungwon are very allergic.

Note: I just have a new obsession with Ni-Ki. OC = Jiwoo, is a December, 04-liner.

Working as a kindergarten teacher was usually fine. But today all the kids seemed to have planned to make Jiwoo's life harder than necessary

She had to tell one kid, Changmin, that he had to drop of their kitten, because they weren't allowed in class. Changmin wasn't pleased with the answer but did as told.

''Ms. Kim, why can't I bring my kitten to class?'' Changmin pouted as he held his kitten close.

Jiwoo couldn't deny it. The kitten was adorable. But the some kids were allergic and some were horrified by the small animal.

''Changmin, your little kitten is adorable, but some other kids in here are allergic and it's against the rules. You don't wanna break the rules, right?''

Changmin shook his head. ''No Ms. Kim, I don't wanna break the rules''

Jiwoo was honestly more surprised that Changmin's parents allowed him to even take the kitten with him to kindergarten.

''Right, so how about we leave the kitten with eomma and appa so we can finger paint?'' Jiwoo gently grabbed the kitten from Changmin and walked outside with the kitten. She found Changmin's parents and handed the kitten back to them.

''Uhm, I don't know how Changmin convinced you a kitten was okay, uhm, but you need to take it home''

Changmin's father's eyes widened. ''Oh my God, he told me it was pet-day, I'm new to... children''

Jiwoo chuckled. ''You're doing a great job. But just letting you know, if we were to have a pet-day, we'll send out a newletter to the parents''

''Okay, thank you'' Changmin's father took the kitten and bowed before heading out.

Jiwoo watched as the kids finger painted. She loved her work, but this particular day seemed to drag on forever. She groaned quietly as Ara threatened to cut her friend's hair.

Why?

Because she took Ara's purple, favorite crayon.

''Ara, put down the scissors, now!'' Jiwoo sighed and took the scissors from her grip. She doubted the scissors would even be able to cut hair, they could barely cut paper.

The hours ticked by and soon the kids were being picked up one by one. Changmin apologized for his morning rendezvous. Jiwoo only chuckled.

''It's okay Changmin, just don't do it again, okay?''

Changmin saluted Jiwoo and ran out to his dad. Ara also apologized to Jiwoo for her attempt of a haircut. Jiwoo didn't see the harm. Ara apologized to both her and her friend, she had gotten her crayon back and she was (probably) not gonna repeat it.

The day ended and Jiwoo settled in her car. Finally.

All she wanted to do was sleep. Maybe eat. Depends on how much energy she had when she reached her home. She knew she had some old kimbap in the fridge.

Her phone, connected to the car, rung. She answered after seeing Niki's name popping up on the screen.

''Niki, hello. What's up?''

''Hello... uhm... what's your favorite animal?''

Jiwoo was chuckled. ''What?''

''What's your favorite animal? Like... cat, dog?

''Uhm... cat I suppose. What did you do?'' Jiwoo stopped by a traffic light and stared at the caller ID. She knew he'd done something stupid and irrational.

''Noona, don't be mad, but I got us... something'' In the background cars were heard pulling out and driving away from NIki.

''What did you get us? And why did I hear the cars leaving you behind?''

''I might have gotten a kitten... that has to live with you because Jay-Hyung and Jungwon-Hyung are allergic. Also... I need a ride''

''Where are you?''

''MusicBank...''

''Niki... that's half-across town'' Jiwoo mentally cursed Niki but steered the wheel towards MusicBank.

''Please Noona~ you can name the kitten!''

Jiwoo chuckled. He was cute. ''I'll be there in like 20 minutes''

''Love you Noona!''

''Love you too, Niki''

Niki got into the car and smiled sweetly. ''Look! Cute!''

Jiwoo stared at the small kitten in Niki's lap. She then lifted her gaze to face her boyfriend. ''Niki, you don't have the time for a kitten. And to be honest, I don't really have time for a kitten either''

''But look at it Noona!'' Niki carefully picked up the small kitten and held it closer to Jiwoo. ''It's so cute~''

''And you can't return it?''

Niki gapsed dramatically and held the kitten close to his chest. ''How can you be so cruel? I can't just kidnapp it from it's mother and then return it. It's attached to me already, look!''

The small kitten, that basically fit in Niki's giant hands, nestled into Niki's chest and fell asleep. Jiwoo had to admit, the kitten was very adorable. And Jiwoo wanted to keep it.

But none of them had time for it.

''Fine'' Jiwoo sighed and started the car. ''But you better come by and take care of it''

''Promise!'' Niki saluted Jiwoo and turned his full attention to the little kitten in his lap.

Jiwoo shook her head, but a small smile grew on her lips. ''You're lucky you're cute''

Niki smiled. He had the best girlfriend in the world.

Niki stayed true to his word. He came over at least 5 out of 7 days of the week to hang out with the kitten, which Niki named Oreo because it was black with a white patch on it's stomach.

But if he had schedule Jiwoo gave him time off. His idol job was more important than the kitten. According to Jiwoo, if Niki was in charge he'd probably spend 24/7 with the kitten.

Niki also had his own key to Jiwoo's apartment. Only thing was he had a messed up sleeping schedule, so sometimes Jiwoo would wake up at 2 a.m to Niki playing with the kitten in the living room.

Like tonight.

''Niki, what the fuck?'' Jiwoo raised an eyebrow as she turned on the lights.

''Heeey~ Noona, you're so pretty-''

''Cut the crap. Why are you not at the dorm? Sleeping? Like a normal person at this hour?''

''Kitten'' Niki smiled innocently and held up the tiny kitten.

Jiwoo sighed and closed her eyes. ''Please go home to sleep. Or at least go to bed''

The boy stood up and walked over to his girlfriend. ''Sorry, Noona'' He hugged her tightly. ''I'll stop''

''I don't mean you can't come over. Just... stop coming over in the middle of the night because a, one day I'm gonna think you're a murderer and hit you, b, we both need sleep'' Jiwoo wrapped her own arms around Niki's waist and rested her head against his chest. ''And you need to stop growing''

''Never'' Niki smiled and squeezed her harder. ''Now let's go to sleep- is that my shirt?''

Jiwoo peeked down at the hoodie she wore. ''Yeah, got a problem with it?''

''No, you look good''

''I know''

Niki and Jiwoo both headed to bed. The small kitten, Oreo, followed the two humans into Jiwoo's bedroom. Since Oreo couldn't get on the bed, he resulted in just meowing loudly.

Niki peeked down on the floor and spotted Oreo, who stopped meowing as Niki stared at him. ''Can I-''

''Do whatever. Just sleep'' Jiwoo mumbled, already falling asleep again. Niki cheered quietly and picked up Oreo from the floor and laid him on his chest.

''Now be quiet, Noona has to be up early, okay?'' Oreo simply titled his head to the right. ''I'll take that as a yes''

Jiwoo giggled as she heard her boyfriend's conversation with the kitten. ''You're cute''

''I know''

''I was talking to Oreo'' Jiwoo opened one eye and smirked. She knew she was a tease. But in all fairness, Niki broke into her apartment at 2 in the morning.

''Ha. Ha'' Niki pouted and turned back to the cat. ''Oreo, Noona is mean'' Oreo let out a small "meow", as if he agreed with Niki.

''Great, now the cat is on your side'' Jiwoo turned to Niki and glared at Oreo. ''Also, why would you name the cat after a cookie?''

''He looks like an Oreo'' Niki held up the kitten and showed the white patch on his stomach. ''Look! The white... filling thing. And I was at a lack of better names since you refused to name him''

Oreo got off Niki's chest and walked across the bed. He settled on Jiwoo's shoulder, nestling closer to her before falling asleep. ''Ha, fuck you, my kitten''

Niki looked offended but shrugged. ''At least 1 out of 3 is sleeping now''

Jiwoo smiled. She kissed Niki's cheek. ''Sleep''

''Yes, ma'am''

"whats so hard about getting along with niki? hes a good kid!" jake complained. since his little sister couldnt get along with one of his best friends, it made even the intimate gatherings.. unpleasantly awkward.

"hes annoying, like you are being right now."

"no, why do you really hate him so much."

"i dont know! he just reminds me of someone i guess? and he always cheated on projects back in middle school. even stole my ideas so he could make it look like im in the wrong."

"thats it? youre holding a grudge over him just being a middle school kid from, what, 5 years ago? cmon, theres gotta be something better then that. not to mention even if there wasnt, that makes you sound hella dumb holding a grudge from the 7th grade when youre graduating next year."

y/n thought to herself. of course there was another reason, but it seemed unnecessary to bring up. and she also just didnt want to share it with jake. or maybe, it wasnt the right reason after all.

it was really only a week.

"i know right! its been too long!"

she smiled, no matter what mood she was in, sunoo always was the sunshine in the rain.

"so, whos here?"

"oh, you know the usual. sunghoon, heeseung, jake, and jay. niki and jungwon are supposed to be setting up something in the courtyard."

"setting up what?"

"a volleyball net. jake was on nikis ass all week and wanted him to 1v1 you while we all played basketball. jungwon just wanted to help however he could, hes been tired all week from his job and the dance program."

no fucking way.

"youre saying i have to be alone, with nishimura riki? hell no!"

"isnt it great?" "this is a disaster!" they both exclaimed in unison.

"how is that bad?" "how is this good?!"

sunoo signaled for y/n to continue first. "i just cant stand riki. jakes been on my ass to talk to riki but i didnt think hed actually talk to him, or that hed even listen either."

"seriously? i always thought you had a thing for him. i mean, you look good together, you both share mainly the same interests, mainly the same circle, not to mention the undeniable love you have when your eyes meet-"

"okay thats enough! you know what, how bout we go outside, im hungry anyway."

sunoo shrugged and went along with y/n down the hall.

episode 110 spoilers

just like, random thoughts and stuff, mostly bits that i remembered

i sat down to write this i forgot everything oh my god--

in chip's flashback. the black rose pirates following the king to the big sakura tree, and arlin holding baby chip's hand. this. the cutest shit ever, i think i almost cried at the image of this big badass group of pirates and this itty bitty child led gently by his hand. even if i didn't cry before i sure will right now, baby chip you're so dear to me...

QUEEN! they didn't remember anything aughhhhh 😭😭😭😭 and their and chip's little talk about how they're going to put the pieces together :( and their hug :(

whatever drey, finn and earl are doing on the ship... like, what? hello? glad they're having fun tho lol. also wait hold on a second. how did drey answer the call? i mean, probably with his leg or something, if i had to guess. or maybe finn held it up for him. not sure if finn is at it enough to be able to answer the shell by himself, so earl and drey are the only ones who can actually use it. and seing how earl is in a... predicament. hm.

jay saying that when she looks at gillion she sees family. AUGHHHHHHHHHH AUGH AUGH OUGH jay ferin i love you. and this is so important to me not only because like hell yes they're more than friends they're a family, but also for jay of all people, considering her relationship with her blood tied family and how complicated her relationship with this word is.

also girl please do something about your leg, im begging you. the bone is visible, this shit is not going to heal up by itself. i dont know how you're still limping around this must hurt so bad. i guess adrenalin maybe, but still. at least get some bandages or something, i don't know... what is it with jay and her legs actually. she fell off a roof in edison kingdom and landed on a piece of metal that fucked up her leg, and now this.

oh my god niklaus, how could i forget about my babygirl. i mean, what can i say i love this guy. i dont know how many times ive relistened to his intro song, but definitely more than i should've... um. there was a lot of big important lore that i don't have the brain capacity to process rn.... i want to say that niki is the nameless prince and/or the thing trapped in the hole in the sea. because he can only interact with one person at a time by inviting them to his pocket dimension (even with jay it was said that the time around her stopped while she was talking with niklaus), implying that niki is trapped somewhere and this is the only constricted way he can interact with the world. and to answer chip's questions he said he wants freedom more than anything, again implying that right now he doesn't have this freedom. which makes sense, right? but then, the big bad thing was supposedly trapped thousands of years ago (i think?), but niklaus was a world famous pirate lord not so long ago and not trapped anywhere, so.....? idk im probably missing something. can't for the life of me find the moment where they read the nameless prince book so like, whatever.

that moment where jay talked to chip about how she thinks its all her fault and she should've just gave up her arm and leg. and how chip reassures her....... them 🥺🤲 kind of inspired by that post abt chip and jay i reblogged earlier, but these two talking about their emotions and feelings is so dear to me. just, being human with each other and opening up. gill is great ofc, but i feel like for these two its much easier to talk to each other to feel understood and heard. i love them.....

chip is still very much dead and probably won't be resurrected any time soon, so... hooray new undead chip design! but also oh my god my poor boy... forever 19... (also charlie and condi being surprised that chip is only 19. yeah </3) my poor guy my poor baby, he sounds so beaten and depressed in the beginning of the episode, its just breaking my heart qwq...

chip trying to marry igneous. lol. darling chill out, you just got out of one unsuccessful marriage and it didn't teach you anything, you're dead, you're only 19, you've known this guy for like, 2 days? don't get me wrong, godspeed to chip, but cmon man take him out to dinner first or something

I'll start with Phil again, and West by sleeping at last, and this time it's more c!Phil than h!Phil

The first verse also feels very reminiscent of before he joined the server, back when they would just send letters to each other. And god these verses

I've talked about cphil before, and I've talked about his grief before, and Wilbur Does Not Leave his mind, from November 16th till his revival he hasn't stopped thinking about it. He's thought about it so much that the dude, who's never usually vulnerable, even asks ranboo if what he did was right, one of the times he was emotionally vulnerable in character. I also think it's really neat that Techno built a home in the north and gave Phil a compass that points to it, it's a really neat coincidence. His character also feels very lost in a way? I made a playlist once where I ordered the songs to follow a story, but I left it unfinished because he felt unfinished, forever stuck in some sort of grief (sidenote I need to finish that playlist now that the finale happened) and I think the line about true north fading is pretty neat

So like the oh hellos post, Techno is East, and you can probably see for yourself why I picked it haha

"now I bear little resemblance to the king I once was" is definitely the line that feels very c!techno I think, and "the years wore on and changed my heart, the leading role for a smaller part"

There is the intentional change, with him trying to stay away from violence and retiring, albeit later on going back to violence. But there's also the unintentional part, the one that came more naturally when he found friends. I mean Phil has always been his friend, but now there's Niki and Ranboo, and I mean there was even a hint of a reconciliation with Tommy. Something about having started out trying to go at it alone, and in the end having surrounded yourself with people that care.

So for Wilbur, he gets South.

Wilbur is very associated with lies I think, as a wordsmith. He lies to others and he lies to himself, and I don't think all of it he didn't believe. But also both Phil and Wilbur having lines about losing true north? Oughh. What I really like though is the last few verses

Because these ones are gentler, these ones are kinder. And Wilbur ultimately does try in a way to heal, in the end.

Soo that leaves Tommy with North.

Which I think works really well! A line Tommy has repeated over and over again was that L'manburg was the people, not the government or the land. It was the community.

C!Tommy, I think, is hope. He is kindness, and second chances. Because with everything that's happened to him, he hasn't stopped being kind. He hasn't grown hard with the times, he's remained as open and as vulnerable as he was, even as he grows more scarred. He hasn't stopped caring for the people he loves, because if you stop letting yourself love, what will you have left

I’d never heard of precious jewel armor before reading your post talking about c!wilbur songs and now I’m listening to these songs and doing a thousand yard stare into the distance coping with all these emotions, GREAT artist thank you for the inadvertent recommendation!

ofc man! there are a few other dsmp musicians that i always think about: (this will be long check under the cut)

amanda fagan made some of the very first songs for a few characters, most notably her ‘take you down’ for quackity, ‘bittersweet’ for jack manifold, and ‘promises you couldn’t keep’ for niki. i will be very blunt, i do not like how she writes wilbur, and i would not recommend her wilbur songs, but ‘take you down’ is still the best written quackity song out there, and ‘bittersweet’ is incredible. do check out her work.

kanaya is a name most people have heard before but i need you all to listen to a song that is not marionettes or violence because guys. guys my god. yeah ‘i’ll let it burn’ is alright whatever have you heard ‘november 16th’? have you heard ‘us against the world’? please. i love her work. she did a collab with precious jewel amor where she wrote tommy’s song and precious wrote tubbo’s, they’re both great. ‘little hero’ is gorgeous. if i don’t think about ‘no reprise’ it can’t hurt me.

kroh made the ranboo song of all time and i will forever be greatful for that. go listen to ‘typical me’, amazing song, ‘hush’ is cool too. oh yeah kroh also made ‘mr bones’. i guess. but who gives a shit about ‘mr bones’ when ‘typical me’ is so good, you have to believe me. ‘home’ is also really good and way more underrated than ‘typical me’ so you should listen to it as well, more even.

candlebard only made two dream smp songs. and one of them is a dream song. that i haven’t listened to. but i would be fucking wrong if i didn’t tell you about ‘disappear’. oh my god ‘disappear’. i could write essays on this song. i love it so much. it is the c!wilbur song of all time, nothing will ever get him like ‘disappear’. it has everything, seasonal metaphors, an empathetic perspective on wilbur’s fall into destruction, incredible music. that’s all you need to make me happy really. this song has less than 200k views and that’s a crime. go listen to it please.

cjack, like candlebard, only made two dream smp songs, and i have only listened to one of them, but i physically couldn’t not bring up ‘phantom feelings’. it’s so important to me. no ghostbur song is like ‘phantom feelings’ i’m telling you. go listen to it, every other ghostbur song will be ruined for you forever. you will never be able to appreciate ‘blue’ by derivakat again because you will know there is better. and you have heard it.

hatorbee is a musician i’ve literally never seen anybody talk about but i needed to bring them up because they’ve made? so many songs? and to be very frank with you, are they all great? no. like musically some of these songs are not the best, but fuck damnit they should write poetry. also they get these characters more than some songs that sound amazing so. you win some you lose some. ‘one more dance’ was a core part of my dsmp phase and also the only skephalo song i’ve ever heard and the only reason i gave a shit about them. the timing is weird, the vocal performance isn’t perfect and is mixed strangely, but you can feel the passion oozing out of it. they also made the only karlnapity song with precious jewel amor and winks, and it’s kind of incredible? i might cry? also lies in the letters is very good wilbur characterisation. i’m giving it a strong stamp of approval.

Once she gathers the courage to post her own fanfics, you can be sure I'll be there to support her immediately. Her brain is wonderful, just like her, I wouldn't hesitate to commit arson for her sake. Her tag is 'my Darling', no, we aren't dating, in case any of Nat's anons come here asking that.

⤐ @nerenbe - Well well well, if it isn't my menace herself. This lil gremlin is the sole reason I am in this fandom altogether, since she just kept singing 'Star lost' while we were in the Christmas market in the year 2023. ⤐ @atinyniki - Niki, my precious little pocket pookie who just loves to pester me and absolutely shower me in love, no matter how hard I keep pushing it away (this is the norm for me and my friends). She's absolutely sweet and so strong, I look up to her in that sense to this very day. We easily start gushing about ATEEZ or my husky puppies for a good while, or even start planning some gut-wrenching fics together xD I am so happy she wrote to me, even if she keeps insisting I am cute, falsely.

⤐ @writingforstraykids - Nat, my talented menace! I love her art, oh my god, I cannot wait for her to draw more, even if that is a year later or more. And her soft thoughts? Hell yes! She's the one who usually gets to see my own random thoughts about the boys (hence our collab), because she's my mootie and they get VIP services :) I am forever afraid she's gonna do what my menace does and send me pics of the boys... I would straight up die on the spot.
