it makes me so frustrated when people online love to go on rants about how the paparazzi shouldn’t be a thing because they’re so invasive and they literally get payed to stalk and harass celebrities, but then the second a celebrity like chappell roan has the guts to stand up for herself against them, suddenly she’s being tacky and too sensitive. idk maybe it’s time for some of yall to reflect on why it makes you so upset when a celebrity demands respect and doesn’t lie down and take verbal abuse from entitled paps and other invasive people. perhaps some of yall who preach about respecting celebs because they’re people too have started to show that you as well see celebrities more as objects than as real people with feelings.

i’m sorry, just, do you know how many little kids have gained a good role model to look up to with chappell? she’s showing young people that it doesn’t matter what you’re supposed to do, it’s okay to set boundaries if you feel uncomfortable. if you don’t want to hug and get a big wet kiss from your overly-affectionate aunt who you only see once a year, it’s okay to say no. if you are being shouted at by a random man who you’ve never met at a random work event, fucking shout back. or better yet, have a calm conversation with that man at a later event and set your boundaries. i think it’s incredibly odd to judge somebody for knowing their own self worth.

When a character is so hated in a fandom bc he's the main character. Also when he's hated bc people say he's a horrible father when he's been trying and seeing his mistakes. And those mistakes happened because of heavy trauma and PTSD over the time of like 20 years. AND his son thinks he's a good father, but people never can't see past the mistakes in a person who tries to be good. They will always excuse really bad characters, though.

Also, Jess knew Dean was Sam’s brother (“your brother Dean?”) and wasn’t justifiably furious over him breaking into their place in the middle of the night like most people would be, Sam told her something about him. And she smiles when she realizes it’s Sam’s brother, so Sam was told her good things about Dean, enough that she’s happy to meet him. But like, Jess isn’t calling the police over the fact that her boyfriend is fighting someone at their place when Jess and Sam are the only ones supposed to be inside and nobody was in when they went to bed, she’s not demanding to know why Dean didn’t just knock on the door, Jess is perfectly content to start getting to know Sam’s brother in the middle of the night after Dean committed a crime. So Jess knew something of Dean to not be worried by this behavior and is probably a bit weird herself given that her reaction at her boyfriend’s brother breaking in is happiness.

i think there's a sort of sign of the times in that interaction as well though, and the precarity of youth. has anyone ever broken in to my place when i was a college student? no. have people shown up on my doorstep from across the country unexpectedly when i was a college student? yes, actually haha.

so i have always read jess's reaction more like "oh okay wow unexpected, hi hello nice to meet you, what's going on?". she does seem a bit taken aback but she's also letting sam lead and trusting his judgement of the situation and his brother and letting that guide her reactions as well. but her being happy overall that he's there, even if his mode of entry was reckless and bizarre, has never read all that odd to me. but then, maybe i'm odd as well haha.

as a gay guy, what's your opinion on periods and period sex? it might seem anachronistic to ask but i saw a video where finn was with friends and was saying periods are disgusting haha, and i can see that or that he was maybe just being all sassy and loose cos he was playing it up in that dynamic of a group. this was a while ago anyway but it got me thinking, cos i've known straight guys who are fine with period sex but also ones who dont even want to acknowledge that periods exist haha, and it made me wonder because if you knew you were gay from a teen and never experimented with girls, was it taught in schools? is it taboo for you? i always thought there might be this affinity between women and gay men because most of each group engage with something typically considered disgusting and taboo (anal sex and periods) and get on with it / see the beauty in it.

Interesting ask! My opinion is... it's just a non issue? Maybe I personally don't need to hear extensive details, but that goes for many bodily functions haha. And I don't think Finn is truly unkind, but you know how guys get sometimes. Annoying. We all say immature shit 🤷‍♂️The body isn't disgusting. It just is what it is, does what it does. And yeah, society has stupid hangups - I see the correlation you're getting at with anal sex, for sure. It's the concept of being normal and mature about bodies. We all know what an ass is for 🤣 But that's absolutely not the only thing. So, if you're with someone who has a period and sex is a possibility - I don't really see the problem if both parties involved are into each other and want to do that. To each their own. You can also maybe not want to do it, but don't be unkind, is all. Body positivity is key.

I'm never gonna be in a situation where the person I'm sleeping with has that as a factor, if that's what you’re getting at. I did actually try to date a few girls when I was a teenager but, yikes. Never got very far hahaha. But it's not like women (and those who otherwise experience this) are so super mysterious. It's not secret knowledge. Moral of the story: I just know for a fact that many men are purposefully obtuse or immature. Sexism. All that. Simplifying the issue but for the purpose of this ask! 💁‍♂️

Also, to relate this a little to fandom: I've read people's headcanons and ideas on here they've shared and not everything has to be hot to everyone, sometimes things are just super interesting. And I really do think it's a nice concept where a character who is in pain and needs some loving, and if having sex during will help that, that's an awesome concept that their partner is into doing that to help them through it, double cool if that's a way to both get off. Fictional and in reality. Like I said, to each their own. But I can understand how people find it hot. And even things that are not completely relevant to my life and inclination, man it's just cool to have spaces and opportunities to talk things out and share ideas, right???
