Me: Taking off my ship goggles, while the polycule jokes are funny the intention with the Getter Team was less romance and more so a strong friendship that turns into brotherhood. It’s still about how relationships are important, but less of the angle of love and more of having comrades will make facing conflicts easier, even if you may be ripped away from your friends-

Also me: There is absolutely zero platonic explanation without shipping goggles on to explain why the FUCK Ryoma said “oh so you want me to bite you?” in such a playful tone with a grin on his face to Hayato simply calling him a watchdog, that’s straight up flirting.

#meg text #getter robo #I’ve been thinking about “how unintentionally fruity” getter is again #I’m someone who’s okay with ships not being canon especially when it comes to the gays #since I sadly expect it and while there’s some expectations it’s a norm for a very older series #(now if they did another getter reboot and made it actually gay *grins* but that’s a pipe dream)#tbh the reason they’ve probably never done teammate romance next to their hardly being girls is to not ruin the friendship aspect #which is respectable even if MAKE THEM POLY YOU FUCKING COWARDS #(I say as man I need to draw more RyoBen art too)#but also I will never not laugh that they expect us to think it’s believable for hayato and ryoma to get wives #even if they have a purpose to exist for THOSE TWO ALSO USE TO SLEEP IN THE SAME BEDS TOGETHER #they literally have the aura of two repressed gays who are crazy for each other but are clueless to it #oh and not to get angsty but new getter is incredibly more tragic to me viewing it under the lens that hayato liked ryoma ; ‘)
