@viridisvilla I was looking at another oc tag of mine and realized I made a bust of Drako in a suit 4 years before that Saturday Morning Adventures comic.

This is the fifth time I’ve accidentally predicted something in a piece of media I was loving at the time yet no one’s ever gonna believe me.

Seasons Week (22-31) in OCtober 2020 prompts

22. Autumn. @alena-1987 You’re the only other one who knows of Aiyana and honestly I think of her taking Krux’s outer coat and he’s just thinks it makes her look so small compared to him and he finds it cute to the point where he says she can keep it.

23. Winter. Mariana, originally a Bengal Fox now a traditional Red Fox mutant instead since one was more common than the other. She wears a fluffy coat even though she probably doesn’t even need it with her fur but the colors contrast hers nicely.

25. Spring. Here’s Apollo the mutant Crocodile Monitor. He likes Spring more than winter because it gets warmer for his liking but not so warm as to lay somewhere on the rooftops and fall asleep.

26. Summer. Melusine, wife to Knucker and ally/member of the Serpentine Rebellion. Just because she’s a fighter doesn’t mean she can’t look pretty too.

27. Star. Well, Dr. Kitty Saunders was the star of this blog so it’s fitting that they’re here.

28. Cosplay. Spec Ops guy is awesome so I had my Triceraton boy cosplay as him because well the roles they play and their heights are fitting.

29. Cafe AU. @glitchthenindroid Could you imagine an AU where Akumu just goes to a cafe regularly, probably hiding in back tables so he doesn’t scare anyone, but then he sees Gale coming up to him and he’s just “*gasp* oh no she’s pretty” and she’s just nothing but nice to him? Of course she has to be being a worker and all but he’s the only one that’s actually polite to her and even tips her more than anyone else does, so eventually somehow they get to know each other.

30. School uniform. Inizio (name meaning “beginning”), otherwise what you guys will eventually know him as Drako Reformed because I don’t see why he couldn’t be allowed to restart like the Daimyo’s son did.

31. Halloween. Umber the mutant long eared bat would fit right into the crowd. Though she may not be on the ground, she’ll like not having anyone point her out even if it’s for one night.

OC-tober Day 5: Redesigned OC

Almost all of my OCs have been redesigned over the years, so I'm simply going to take you guys through the redesigns of Lily, another RWBY OC from Renewal! These are largely in-universe redesigns, but there have been changes outside of the story too. But first, as I'm doing with all of Renewal's characters in this challenge, an introduction!

Who is she?

Like Astra and Cobalt, who we've seen earlier in the challenge, Lily Sustrai is one of the four main characters of Renewal. She grew up in a tough situation and began her journey as a huntress in order to prove her worth - and the worth of her mother - to a world that she feels has rejected her. Once she opens up a bit though, we see that she has a sharp wit, a fierce sense of determination, and also a softer side.

Her first design, from 2019, was simple on purpose. It was supposed to reflect her single-minded goal and lack of care for anything else, as well as her sense of isolation. I still probably could have made it a bit less boring though. Her skintone had been directly colour-picked from screenshots of Emerald from the actual show (though shifted to be a bit darker), which I should have known better than to do, because RWBY can't be trusted with skintones.

Her second design came about in 2020, after her character develops a little in the story, and is the one she had for the remainder of Year 1, all the way up to 2022. The only real difference in-story is that she replaces her hoodie with a leather jacket and puts her hair up, but I also took the opportunity art-wise to fix her skintone and make it richer.

Her Year 2 design had to be workshopped a lot before I was happy with it (see first image for concepts), but with a new year in-story came a whole new design. I pulled elements from Emerald's concepts and finalised design for Volume 7 of the actual show, but took a little inspiration from Mercury's as well, even though they aren't directly related in the story. I also really wanted to bring out more of Lily's plant motif, with how integral they are to her character.

At the start of 2024, I finally unstraightened her hair, which was a long time coming.

And finally, as a little treat, a concept of her Year 3 design! The story's third year is quite some time away (Year 2 isn't even halfway yet) but when I had some ideas, I had to get them drawn. I pulled from Emerald's Volume 7 concepts again, a lot more this time, but also gave her a new leather jacket. I also wanted this design to have more green, which I feel her older designs are lacking in despite the fact that it's supposed to be her main colour. And I gave her braids this time, which were time-consuming to draw even in this simpler form, but are worth it, I think. It's not finalised and I'll definitely be changing/adding/removing things as I workshop it, but even then, it's my favourite design for her so far.

SWtOR-Tober 2024 Day 3: Chaos

I'm so behind because work and school, I do plan to try and catch up. Next segment is "Chaos"

So decided to use my smuggler oc! This isn't just describing Chapter 1, but the general dynamic between her and Corso. They both share a braincell.

I mean, they're just there to find relics + treasure and sneak stuff in, not fight Sith entities (okay maybe not an entity, but these people- nonForce users nor any form of solider- gotta deal with evil wizards? Girl just wanted her ship back.)

Oh, by the way, she had a twin brother with red hair (yes they are cousins to my trooper). Names? Must'arrd and her brother Ketch'up.

Ketch'up is my brother's smuggler character. We started the game back in 2020, doing story classes together (we haven't done them all yet.) But we usually do a theme together. It would be so funny to be running missions together and other players would stop dead in their tracks to do a double-take on the names. But hey, I feel the names are very Star Wars-canon friendly.

Anyway, the inspiration for this image is a meme I use frequently. I don't think I've quite captured the chaos (can't figure out how to blur properly yet) but I think I've done alright. I also chose Unus Annus because there's a moment in Chapter 1, saving one of the siblings from the Justicar, the exchange is:

That sibling: The Works? You wouldn't last five minutes.

Corso: Captain and I are so good, I bet we could last ten

It has the exact same vibe as:

Ethan: No, no, no. TWO idiots!

And I've come to make an announcement.

Corso Riggs isn't that bad. I actually like him. It's also the fact the first romance start, where he's buzzed, that as soon as he makes a suggestive comment, he BACKS UP without prompting and apologizes. I do tease him and stuff, but he's genuinely not as bad as people make him out to be.

oc-tober | my first few days

hello tumbo ler. i am kinda doing oc-tober this year, kinda not. i know my schedule (busy, hectic, hell) but i also know i like to procrastinate (these 3 pieces have consumed time that would've been better used for homework).

so, i'm gonna jump into it... the other 2 drawings and more info will be below the cut

day 1 | favorite oc

ok so i started off strong here... by that i mean i started with day 1!!! (on october 5). this is my favorite ever. i have never really info dumped about this one on the internet before... was gonna use this as a time to start but then deleted what i just wrote LOLL all u gotta know is that bro is stunning witterawy just look. also this oc is from the 1920s/30s/40s... most of the story i've got in my head takes place in the 30s tho 😻

day 5 | redesigned oc

see this is what i mean. i skipped from day 1 to day 5.. but this is an oc i made when i was like 12 (WAY TOO CLOSE TO 10 YEARS AGO) and he was an angsty little bugger... it used to be the case that he was a witch living on his own in a village that, like, hates him or whatever. (because he's a witch.) the townsfolk like rip his tongue out or whatever and then he couldn't speak anymore but still ran like some sort of fruit stand at some sort of market. then like the love of his life moved in and he lived happily ever after. (not true, the love of his life was a BOY so i think they both got killed.)

and wow!!! that's a lot for a 12/13 year old. i came across an OLDDD google doc that had a little bit about this guy in it. the story, as anything written by a 12/13yo, made like. extremely little sense.

so i redesigned bro in about 2022ish. gave him a name, and he's still a witch. he's still missing a tongue. the differences now include that he's AFAB, has a little friend in his head only (pictured. he is cursed) and has a twin brother now. his twin brother works as a knight and like... captured him for an insane bounty. i also gave him a little bit of plot armor... he's some sort of telepath now so he's able to get by without a tongue. instead of straight up fantasy ville, i've been doing a little research into the middle ages to figure out a more, like, realistic setting... as realistic as including supernatural things can be but believe me the story is making a lot more sense now than it did in 2015.

day 3 | old oc

so i drew this today. yes these are in order of when i drew them...

anyway in terms of when i made this one, he's not THAT old. he's a product of my highschool mind and appeared on MANY assignments as doodles.. so he was like, essentially, born in about 2016/17, but i consider him old because i haven't so much as thought about him since like 2020, MAYBEEE early 2021.

this is also making me realize i have a thing for FREAKS. every one of these ocs has something about them that makes them "less than human;" this guy's deal is that he's like.. half fish..

it sounded really cool in 2017 you have to understand this was the vibe of the time

anyway he essentially got scrapped for no better reason than i was just getting bored. like, the story i was developing for bro ALSO took place in the 1920s (dude let me tell u. prohibition era america is actually my roman empire. genuinely in every sense of the real meaning of that trend) but it was diverging too far from reality and sort of becoming an atla knockoff toward the end of my thoughts for it... so then bro at the top was born (girl on day 1) in august 2021 and the rest for this guy was history. such is the damning reality of the creative.

anyway, that's all. i have no idea if i'll keep this up, but some of the prompts have genuinely given me ideas to cure my art block (I HAVE NOT DRAWN SINCE JULYYYYY) so i'm hoping to have time for more 🥲

theres some mistakes in the art but i got tired of working on it lol.. regardless im glad to have updated her ref i adore her SOO soo much. ive been roleplaying her since 2020 and her design has gone through a LOT of changes since then, but its definitely at a state where im satisfied. she means a lotttt to me and was made to be a comfort character with a lot of physical traits i find comforting and having a very comforting and fun personality since shes meant to be a comforting presence in that way as well. shes stuck with me through a lot in my life and im likely going to forever be updating her character in little ways and also putting her in like almost every story i have in some way lmao

woman yelling at cat meme?! this one is kind of rough but it's based on me and my boyfriend's minecraft world that we no longer have access to (hopefully one day), and my sona is yelling at her pet axolotl Small Man :) for eating a tropical fish (either Wife or like.. Wife's Mistress, i think,, i don't remember). feat. their tv head that i didn't want to draw!

About Ween (Minecraft World): Back before we were dating, me and my boyfriend were like,, super weirdly romantic about everything we did because we were just mutually in love with each other without really thinking about it lol,, and we made this Minecraft world together! It had a lot of inside jokes and things that we still reference today, and it was started in like 2020?

we did a lot of fishing together and collected stuff, and this was while i still used minecraft on my phone and he used his switch?!?! gross, right?? we had a church of items in the village that we lived in,, very fun and cool, i miss it a lot. we had a whole farewell ceremony and had the Cat music disc playing.. :(

Our Sonas: My sona has gone through a LOT of different phases and this is one of them that never got a complete ref sheet. I do have the Minecraft skins (and one gif showing off the short hair thing lol) though! for apollo's i just designed his loosely based on his old and current minecraft skins combined together,, the picture of the two of us below with me in the wall is from a different world but it gets the idea across, i think.

OC-tober day 3!

I couldn’t decide on just one of these guys for the old oc prompt, so you get to see all of them! (More about them under the cut)

The first four of them were made in 2018 (and if I remember correctly, I got them all as adopts), and the last one was made in 2020. They’re all Transformers ocs of mine, in order their names are Lionstrike, Nighthawk, Silverbee, Windfall, and Starlight.

Since younger me wasn’t very good at drawing robots, I only ever drew them in a human au.

This lineup is from 2021 and I really need to update it, their human design deserve better outfits!!

I need to update their storyline, but the gist of it is that they all met during the war as Wreckers on the Autobot’s side. When Cybertron falls, they travel around the galaxy together and eventually they stumble upon Earth. Lionstrike is the team’s leader and the ship’s pilot, Nighthawk is the navigator, Silverbee is the communications expert, Windfall does demolitions and weaponry, and Starlight is an archivist/historian!
