#OC: Donny di Angelo

For Chasingverse, I scoped through all your ask after being in a Chasingverse withdrawal and got interested in Derek/Donny ask. I like the idea of Derek being some sort of Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki who's obsessed with this strong guy who doesnt know how to deal with his powers for reasons he never knew and stalked him for years and probably not knowing how to confess that he likes Donny. I still think this is a universe where he meets Donny before Sam and has a love-at-first sight kinda thing and him and Sam is still friends. Maybe he would compete with Sander for Donny's attention and that's what the whole Sander/Derek is? To settle fight over Donny like Trend/Derek is? Also I wanna know how Derek is in this universe bc maybe he might not be the biggest jerk in canon bc he has a crush on Donny in this scenario but it sounds like it would be interesting and whether Donny/Sander/Dere would be a threesome

I have no idea who Yuno Gasai is or what Mirai Nikki is, but I do think that Derek... he very specifically doesn't like weak people and Donny before realizing his powers and embracing them, I don't think he would have sought Donny out.

If this Donny took more after my first draft of the character, a great hero who always trained for it and knew his own worth in that regard, Derek would totally hit on him, yeah.

Also I want to think of an AU where Thess di Angelo paid more attention to her twin while trying to cheer Donny up in his own way, and tried to matchmake his twin sister with Lizzy Mason (maybe) and Donny with... someone idk? I like the idea of Lizzy/Percy Junior where Thess actually tried to matchmake her best friend and Luke helped in matchmaking Thess' twin brother since he's a legacy of Aphrodite. So Thess and Luke dated earlier maybe (?) and this definitely happens before Luke Kitty and Percy become best of best friends where Luke hit on Thess earlier and maybe they dated before the clique form? I like Thess/Luke matchmaking I'm probably interested in this verse and what you think

I think that Thess would have actually tried to set Donny up with Luke, in an act of just fully projecting. Luke is so perfect and pretty and oh yeah that would be a great match for Donny!! (Since Luke is, age-wise, right between Thess and Donny. At which point I have to note, good gods I am delighted that I kept such good record of this verse that I have a list of all characters' birth years+month)

(I also think that actively trying to set Donny and Luke up would have made Thess jealous and thus would have made him realize his feelings for Luke.)

Lizzy/Percy is an interesting pitch and I could see Thess trying to go for that, yeah.

So! I'll give you a random, new headcanon. Since you asked about a Trend/Donny kid, I'll give you one!

The di Angelo family name carries so much meaning and legacy in this world that the kid (and Trend) would take it. So, in a similar manner as Jackson di Angelo, they would name their son Austin Michael di Angelo, middle name honoring Trend's dad.

A legacy of Poseidon and Athena, a strategist to boot, but especially in the department of marine warfare. ;D

I wanna know, if Derek died because Erotes didnt help him or the crew didnt meet Erotes, what would happen in Chasingverse if Derek still stays dead?

Oh, fairly sure Sam would have used Donny's underworldly connections and shadow-travel to get to the underworld and get Derek back. There was no universe in which he would have just stayed dead. Either Sam, or Trend, because Sam was too devastated to think clearly and come to this conclusion.

It's the anon earlier I got intrigued by the idea of Donny/Herc/Sander from the Chasingverse ask anon in one of your older asks it sounds like a cute interesting love story that could have pushed them as the main heroes of Chasing Fireflies or even earlier in an AU of Chasing Fireflies. What are your thoughts/hc abt them?

I think Herc would have definitely helped coax both Donny and Sander out of their respective shells earlier, he'd have been their number one cheerleader ;)

I wanna know if Donny/Derek would have biological kids if they got together... or Donny/Trend bc in the Drunken Dare Cornelia Salene is biologically Sam/Donny... how will that work?

Also I wanna know if Sander didnt get together with Donny and dated someone else at the time, who will Donny get together with in Chasing Fireflies? Maybe Sam? Or someone else hmm why do I feel like it would be interesting to see Victor or Jonas or even Chuck trying to get a shot at Donny before chasing fireflies began if Sander didnt get his shit together (I love Sander but hmm which side OCs would Donny get outside of Trenderam and Sander if they are all occupied).

If Thea is a guy (Theodore) maybe I think Donny would be into him im sure.

Yeah I like the idea where Victor or Jonas or even Chuck or Erik tried to have a shot with Donny it would be interesting thought

Weeell, in Drunken Dare, I took some liberties with their canon kids since I didn't want to create new-ships-exclusive kids that I then would accidentally grow attached too, so I took Cornelia Salene, since she is the only clear legacy of Ares and takes fully after Sam, and changed her other parent; all other Trenderam kids are either Athena, Demeter or in Colly's case Ares and Athena.

I do think that I would have switched around other kids too, like, Mikki is a legacy of Athena so he could have been a Trend/Donny kid instead.

Mh, two options for who Donny would have ended up with, if not Sander.

The original plan - when I made my first draft of Nicercy next gen characters - was for Donny to be dating Luke Chase, since I have a thing for making my next gens of characters who are canon endgame date. So that is a potential option.

And yes, Sam. Sam turned so much more into a character than originally planned, and I adore his dynamic with Donny a lot, I'm fairly sure it would have been Sam/Donny if Sander had been otherwise taken.

Mmmh, if you're asking side characters beyond those five... I do think that Loki Murdock and Donny would have been an interesting match.

I do wanna know more about what happens after Chasing Fireflies conclude and before Chasing Real Life... Specifically the dynamics between Dora and the other di Angelo siblings... like I assume Bianca Maria is out as a huntress and Donny still stays after that because he is still yet to graduate high school? I don't know if you still take request but I am really curious about if you will ever write Donny and Derek's senior prom and their graduation ceremony because it will be emotional especially since tiny Hazel Pandora is like 1 year (?) and his eldest brother has to leave her

Oh, that would have been in Chasing Real Life; the notes I have in this document (yes, I still have the document for this fic, and there are actual notes in it, yay!) include that the story would have started with Trend, Sander and Sam's graduation and then spanning forward, which would include Donny and Derek's senior year and consequential graduation after the other three. Though after Donny's graduation, they all moved to New York together.

And to be honest, I have never quite fleshed out what dynamics I wanted Dora to have with her older siblings, I always thought of her not being overly close to them, due to their large age-gap - she didn't get to share her childhood with them, grow up with them. Bianca Maria is off with the hunt, Donny is graduating and moving away to New York when Dora is still a toddler, Percy and Thess turn 18 when Dora is three so they'll be out of the house when she is still very little too.

The only one she is quite close to is Jack, really, even though she used to follow Jimmy and Silly around like a little duckling too, when they were teens and she was small.

They garden a lot. They have the most beautiful garden in all of New Athens.

Donny is getting regular make-overs from Derek. Derek loves dressing up his boyfriend. He loves it a lot.

Derek doesn’t really know how to handle the di Angelos as a whole, because he is not good with kids and he hasn’t had family in far too long, but Nico and Percy definitely embrace their son’s boyfriend.

Derek does however hit it off with Silly, she regularly comes to him for tips with make-up and hair.

Donny thinks it’s super cute, which usually earns him glares from Derek.

They 100% would name all their kids after flowers. Yeah. That’s a fact.

for whatever reason i feel like Donny(ur oc) listens to music like Daniel Caesar. specifically stuff from his album Freudian but also songs like Violet and Death & Taxes. not much of a question than a comment but the feel of those songs is a specific type of melancholy mixed with hope that i feel Donny has. (u probably don’t actually know who Daniel Caesar is tho lol oops)
