"Matilda! Aesop! Thank Merlin you’re both here!” Nurse Blainey panickedly exclaimed as both professors hurriedly made their way towards the matron, who stood at the bedside of a student who was subdued by the thick straps of leather. The poor student was flailing and wailing, uncontrollable tears running down her face as she tried to break free from her confines.

Cecilia Walters: a Gryffindor student in her 6th year, and the latest victim of an ongoing and mysteriously sinister case. The female student was found unconscious within one of the hidden boiler rooms in the haunted boy’s bathroom with various purple marks marring her skin. Upon regaining consciousness, the poor brunette couldn’t remember anything that had happened or how she ended up in the locked bathroom in the first place. However, upon administering an antidote to help her regain her memories, she has remained in a state of deathly silence, staring into space as if she was in a permanent daze. Within the few days she had spent within the hospital wing, she would sometimes break into a fit of sobs and tears, and would often lash out in a fit of hysteria whenever she made any form of skin contact with someone.

Professor Sharp hands over a specially concocted Draught of Peace to Nurse Blainey, who poured the potion right into the 6th year student’s mouth. Cecilia gurgled as the liquid flowed down her throat, hacking and coughing in the process. Soon, her hysterics slowly died down, and her once broken sobs turned into sighs of peace as the draught successfully sedated her troubled mind. Professor Weasley stared at the poor student with a pained expression while Nurse Blainey grabbed a damp washcloth to clean her up. Professor Sharp gritted his teeth in silent anger.

“We have no choice, Noreen. This is the third time we're sending a student to St. Mungos with the same case,” Professor Weasley woefully said to Nurse Blainey, who looked equally just as sorrowful.

“I'm sorry, Matilda. I did what I could. Whoever has inflicted this suffering upon her is just...” Nurse Blainey trailed off, an unpleasant shiver running down her spine. Whatever memory the poor 6th year had recalled, it must've been a horrifying one.

"Matilda, a word if you may?" Professor Sharp called. The bespectacled professor followed the ex-Auror to the vacant corner nearest to the hospital wing entrance. Professor Sharp turned his heel, looking towards her with a solemn expression while she clasped both her hands and inhaled a deep lungful of air to soothe her frayed nerves.

"What is it, Aesop?" the red-haired professor queried. Reaching within his coat, he pulled out a bundle of folded parchment, handing it over to the deputy headmistress. Professor Weasley scanned through the various pieces of parchment containing the complete records of various potions stored within the potions storage room.

“I was doing the usual checking of my inventory earlier today. Apparently someone has broken into my storage again despite the anti-Alohomora charm on the lock,” the Potions Master explained with a frown.

“And I'm assuming that this case of theft is connected to Ms. Walters' case,” Professor Weasley sighed.

“I'm afraid so," Professor Sharp confirmed. “Every time a vial goes missing, it seems that the same incident happens to another student.”

The Head of Gryffindor house was visibly perplexed. This case has been ongoing for several months, yet Professor Black's lack of cooperation in conducting a thorough investigation has now put more students at risk of danger. As the bespectacled professor read through the records, she noticed a particular pattern: several vials of Forgetfulness Potion and Sleeping Draught were missing. In a state of subtle panic, Professor Weasley hurriedly flipped through the other pieces of parchment to find which potion was recently stolen.

Draught of Living Death.

Ominis sauntered through the halls leading towards the library, his mind adrift as he recalled the multiple things that he had been wondering about eversince your first study session with him for potions. He heaved a loud sigh, running his fingers through his blonde locks in obvious perplexation.

“What on earth was I thinking?!” he hissed angrily to himself, fully realizing the gravity of the situation that he had impulsively put himself into the moment you were in need of help. The logical side of the young Gaunt desperately wanted to call the agreement off because it was a huge hassle on his end, but what kind of gentleman would leave a maiden to face the danger of dealing with a demon all on her own? Needless to say, his morals ultimately won over his logic this time around.

Everything has been a blur of confusion for the opal-eyed male when it came to the entirety of your existence, and that state of bemusement has left a wake of questions begging to be answered. You've been studying with him for several days now, and Ominis was sure that his sense of reason gets more skewed the longer he remains around you. He felt his walls crumble the more he got used to your mannerisms, and he found himself to be more receptive to your little friendly gestures which involved either the sharing of sweets, giving him your spare parchment whenever he ran out, how the tone of your voice becomes spritely whenever he asks you a question regarding study matters, or even sharing a reference book together when there was one copy left within the library. 

But those little things aren't the main reason for poor Ominis' restlessness.

The dainty scent of peonies and freesias floating around you whenever you leaned closer to him, and the scent of lemon sweets that he'd occasionally catch whenever you spoke — it all reminded him of Lucie. His Lucie. The enigmatic young lady he’s been trying to find for several weeks in secret.

However, there's still too little proof to correlate you to his anonymous pen pal. Scent and muggle sweets alone cannot be used as a basis: he needed more solid clues to fully convince himself that both you and Lucie were different people to put his mind at ease once and for all. There was absolutely no way that the both of you were the same person, right? Lucie is a cheerful, free-spirited adventurer with little regards for the rules, while you were someone who mostly stays confined within the walls of the library burning your hours away in the pursuit of knowledge and impeccable grades. 

But even if Ominis uses that outdated observation to constantly reassure himself, your recent displays of prowess and misbehavior has undeniably thrown him off his train of logical beliefs whether he liked it or not. 

“Oh, you’re here!” a surprised voice exclaimed, snapping the opal-eyed male out of his thoughts. You approached the young Gaunt, carrying several books that you had borrowed a few days ago. Ominis hummed in acknowledgement as you walked beside him, entering the library. You glanced at the male while your heart hammered nervously at his unusually quiet behavior.

No sarcastic remarks? No quips? …Odd.

“You do know that I can feel you staring at me, right?” Ominis wryly pointed out as he placed his belongings atop one of the vacant spots of the long table.

Ah, there it is.

“No, I’m not,” you grumbled in embarrassment. Despite the warmth creeping up your cheeks, you heaved a sigh of relief. Not much words were exchanged today, the both of you opting relish in the rare moment of comfortable silence, blissfully scribbling away productively in peaceful tranquility. 

You looked around your surroundings, seeing if Madam Scribner was nearby. Upon confirming the librarian's temporary absence, you brought up a tiny drawstring pouch containing your stash of sweets, grabbing two sherbet lemons, and placing the still open pouch beside your stack of books on the vacant seat beside you. The sound of the distinct scribbling in front of you halted as soon as Ominis heard the sound of the rustling plastic wrappers. You snorted in amusement as Ominis flipped his vacant hand up to reveal his palm, prompting you to place a sherbet lemon on it. He put his self-inking quill down, unwrapping the sweet and popping it into his mouth before resuming with his written essay.

Amidst stolen glances and silent observations, there were many quirks of the blonde-haired male that you had discovered to be rather endearing despite your initial impression of him the more you got used to his presence. He was a sucker for all sorts of sweets (even muggle sweets, much to your surprise), had a strange habit of dozing off within at least ten minutes of inactivity if he's disinterested, the way he frowns like a petulant child whenever he comes across anything he dislikes, and his an unusual love for textured trinkets that he can fidget with. It was an amusing sight witnessing other emotions from him aside from his usual sneers and scowls — it gave the impression that despite his reputation, he's still a typical young man, after all. 

But alas, the relaxing ambience was soon disrupted when multiple flares of all sorts of color exploded in the air. Sparks began to fly all over the library, chasing multiple students as they let out a panicked scream until it fizzled out completely. More displays of fireworks bedazzled the normally quiet air of the library, much to Madam Scribner's chagrin, who vanished the foreign objects causing chaos within her domain. The chatter slowly died down the moment the fireworks were gone, and the library was in a state of peace once again while a rather furious Madam Scribner patrolled around, finding the perpetrator of such mischief.

Upon seeing stern librarian approach the table you and Ominis were seated at, you immediately reached out for the drawstring pouch near your books, only to find out that the strings had been pulled taut with its contents sealed within it securely. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you placed the bag of sweets back into the inner pocket of your cloak.

"Strange, I could've sworn I left this open. Oh well," you muttered, picking up your quill once again. Unbeknownst to you, a certain person materialized out of thin air from behind one of the bookshelves near the restricted section, clutching a certain pouch of muggle sweets in their hand. The unknown person deftly made their way towards the doors leading to the Central Hall, skillfully staying out of sight.

The light chatters of students echoed throughout the barely inhabited walkways of the Transfiguration Courtyard. Ominis was walking alongside Sebastian, who was animatedly telling the blonde-haired male about yet another possible cure for his twin that he had found within the restricted section. For the most part, aside from the incident at the library, the day itself was rather uneventful so far.

“By the way, I heard about what happened in the library earlier. Whoever pulled that stunt certainly has guts!” Sebastian remarked. “I reckon Scribner was absolutely livid during the whole thing. Would've paid to see the look on her face.”

The young Gaunt's attention towards the brunette dwindled by the second, his sensitive ears picking up a certain Slytherin prefect's voice while they passed by the alcove with the recently repaired statue. Ominis grabbed Sebastian by the arm, stopping him in his tracks. Sebastian looked at him incredulously while Ominis brought a finger against his own lips, signaling the male to stay quiet. Both of them hid behind a pillar each, eavesdropping at the conversation amongst Robert Bulstrode and his two goons.

“.... And stay hidden when you follow her. Pay attention when you see her eat the sweets. Once she's out like light, bring her to me.”

“Sweets, Robert? Did you perhaps do something with it?”

“Of course, you idiot! Why else would we even sneak into Sharp's storage in the first place?! Please excuse this buffoon, Robert. Sometimes he forgets he has a brain!”

“Just do as you're told. I'd rather not steal another Draught of Living Death if this fails. Maybe if I'm feeling generous, I'd gladly share my spoils with the both of you," Robert chuckled darkly.

"After all, (L/N) does look quite appetizing, don't you think?"

Ominis shakily exhaled at what he had just heard out of sheer mortification while Sebastian was equally just as aghast. The blonde-haired student’s intakes of air shifted from quick breaths to slow and deep inhalations, feeling his ice-cold rage course through his veins as his face contorted to display the state of his anger: merciless, unforgiving, and murderous all at the same time. Sebastian watched nervously as Ominis’ grip on his wand tightened, hurling a spell towards the unsuspecting 7th year prefect, who was blasted back, hitting the pillar behind him. Students within the area screamed in fear, running far away from the scene while some onlookers watched from a safe distance.

A shiver ran down Sebastian’s spine as Ominis uttered incantation after incantation towards Robert and his two henchmen in cold blood. He had never seen his best friend this enraged and merciless towards his others before. Without hesitation, Sebastian aided his best friend, successfully disarming Robert and deflecting stray spells hurled by his cronies. Ominis fired an onslaught of offensive spells towards the young Bulstrode, who managed to evade most of them.

“Expelliarmus!”

Ominis’ wand flew right out of his hand as soon as the stray disarming charm hit him. Seizing the opportunity, Robert tackled him to the ground and delivered a punch right across the young Gaunt's face. Ominis fought back, successfully flipping the 7th year over and landing several harsh blows across the prefect's cheeks in succession. Meanwhile, Sebastian was fighting against the last of Robert's accomplices, who sneakily shot a banishing charm towards Ominis, repelling him away from Robert. In a fit of blind rage, Robert crawled towards his nearby wand, scrambling up his feet. A deranged chuckle bubbled from his lips, pointing his wand towards the younger Slytherin student who was writhing on the ground while desperately trying to regain his bearings.

“AVADA—”

“STUPEFY!” you cried, successfully stunning the enraged 7th year in the nick of time. You were merely on your way to the Transfiguration Classroom with Natsai and Garreth when the three of you were greeted by a crowd of anxious students. Upon hearing that a fight broke out between several 5th year and 7th year students, you had a nagging feeling that it involved both Ominis and Robert, thus prompting you to get to the alcove as quickly as you could while Garreth and Natsai fetched the nearest professor in sight.

Sebastian quickly disarmed his opponent and sent him flying back, knocking him unconscious. The both of you rushed towards Ominis, who was lightly bruised and slightly bleeding through his busted lip. Ominis groaned as he felt himself get propped up, his head getting rested on a plush surface. The comforting faint scent of peonies and freesias engulfed his senses, making him sigh in relief. The sound of running footsteps echoed throughout the now silent Transfiguration Courtyard, crowds of students parting as the group ran towards the alcove, revealing Professor Weasley and Professor Sharp alongside Garreth and Natsai who had called for their aid.

“Goodness gracious!” Professor Weasley cried at the sight of the scene: nearby statues destroyed, part of the walls had been charred due to missed spells, several of the pillars were cracked, and students who were either mildly injured or unconscious. Sebastian pulled Ominis back up on his feet while you grabbed his wand nearby, handing it over to the opal-eyed male.

“Explain yourselves, all of you!” the red-haired professor demanded exasperatedly.

A deathly silence loomed over all of you, nervously glancing at one other. The stunning spell you hit Bulstrode with finally lost its effectivity, thus regaining his ability to move once again. Before he could spew his onslaught of lies, he was fortunately cut off by Ominis.

“It was Bulstrode, Professor Sharp,” Ominis revealed, causing the said professor to raise an eyebrow. “He was the one who stole the Draught of Living Death from your storage.”

The crowd of students burst into murmurs, while the prefect looked around panickedly, a nervous chuckle spilling from his lips as he stared at both professors with a glint of maniacal fear within his eyes.

“Professor, he’s lying! T-there’s absolutely no wa–”

“Silence!” Professor Sharp hissed in disgust, turning his attention back towards the misty-eyed student. “Continue.”

“Bulstrode mentioned something about making (L/N) eat some sweets to knock her unconscious. I suspect that he might’ve given some spiked sweets to her,” Ominis explained. Your eyes widened in realization as you began to recall the events that had occurred within the library earlier: the fireworks prank, and your pouch of sweets. Panickedly, you reached for your inner cloak pocket, grabbing the pouch.

“Professor...?” you called out, handing over the pouch of sweets to the potions master. 

“Professor Weasley, perhaps we should look through his belongings as well for good measure?” Natsai suggested, carrying Robert’s satchel and handing it over to her. A look of horror befell the 7th year prefect as the bespectacled professor rummaged through his items: aside from his textbooks, Professor Weasley found a duplicate of the potions storage key, a nearly empty potions vial, and a drawstring pouch containing sweets. Meanwhile, Professor Sharp grabbed a sweet from each pouch, placing them in a separate flask each. Muttering a spell, the sweets liquified. The potions master grabbed two leaves, dropping them each into the containers with the liquified sweet: one shriveled up while the other floated on top of the liquid. The sweets that you had given was indeed spiked with the draught. You felt your knees buckle at the revelation, but you stood your ground regardless.

“I believe we’ve seen enough, Professor Weasley,” Professor Sharp concluded, earning a nod of agreement from the deputy headmistress. The red-haired professor walked up to Robert, who kept his mouth tightly shut.

“We shall discuss the appropriate disciplinary actions for you and your friends within the headmaster’s office immediately. I can assure you that your punishments will not be light, Mr. Bulstrode,” Professor Weasley coldly said to the prefect, who hung his head in bitter defeat. You, Ominis and Sebastian heaved a sigh of relief, catching the attention of the bespectacled professor, who looked at the three of you sternly.

“As for you three, unfortunately you aren’t exempted from the punishments of getting involved in a fight within the school grounds,” she curtly said, causing you, Ominis, and Sebastian to wince in unison out of disappointment. 

“Regardless, it does not change the fact that you saved many students from a cruel fate. 30 points will be awarded to each of you,” Professor Weasley added, much to everyone’s surprise.

“Ms. (L/N), kindly accompany Mr. Gaunt into the hospital wing. Nurse Blainey may not be in the school grounds at the moment, but I trust you’re well-versed with basic first aid and healing spells?” Professor Sharp queried while you nodded wordlessly in response.

“Very well. Off you go.”

The trip to the hospital wing was agonizing with barely any words exchanged between the both you. Thoughts flooded the both of your minds, trying to process everything that has occurred within the day. Several onlookers stole sneaky glances out of either intrigue or distaste: the normally tidy-looking Ominis looking absolutely rugged at the moment with his unkempt hair, recent battle scars, slightly dirtied uniform, and a loosened tie while you had an uncharacteristic frown on your face and several smidges of dirt on your tights. The both of you were lucky enough to be even alive and unharmed at this point, but it does not change the fact that the both of you were harmed in some way: be it physically, mentally, or emotionally.

Upon your arrival in front of the entrance of the hospital wing, you were greeted by the sight of empty beds and no nurses within the large space: it was the day of Cecelia Walters' transfer to St. Mungo's, hence the matron was not present. Using his wand, Ominis navigated his way to the private ward located at the corner near the main entrance to the hospital wing. You followed suit, entering the smaller room. Ominis sat on one of the vacant beds at the very back of the ward, which was near the cabinet containing medical supplies.

“Honestly, I've never been here before. Is access to this ward one of the many perks of having connections with the headmaster?” you genuinely asked out of curiosity, breaking the silence between the both of you.

“Perhaps? My parents often requested for this room whenever I got sick in the past,” he replied. You hummed in response, grabbing several items from the cabinet before making your way towards him. You poured an antiseptic solution on a clean cloth and gently dabbed it on several of his grazes, busted lip, and knuckles while desperately trying to bite down the sorrowful guilt that was simmering within you the more you uncovered the wounds that he had received from the fight. Ominis had his eyes closed as you treated his wounds, taking note of how gentle and seemingly experienced you were. However, you stopped midway, letting out a shaky sigh.

“Let me step outside for a bit. I really need a moment,” you tiredly muttered, standing up and heading towards the door. Immediately noticing that something was amiss, Ominis grabbed his wand and followed you. Before you could reach for the doorknob, the opal-eyed male took a hold of your wrist, yanking you slightly to make you face him. Tears of guilt were already running down your face at this point, and you tried sniffling as softly as you could. But alas, Ominis knew you were crying — he has an excellent sense of hearing, after all. Gently cupping your face, he brushed off several stray tears with his thumb as you cast your gaze downwards in shame.

“Look, I'm sorry. I just feel quite awful at the moment,” you began explaining. “This is all my fault. I shouldn't have gotten you involved. You got hurt because of me. Even Sallow got into trouble too. You could've died—”

“And I still would’ve done the same even if you didn’t request for my help,” Ominis admitted, cutting you off. “I wanted to step in. Don’t blame yourself for this.”

Ominis tilted your head up and placed his forehead against yours while shushing you gently as you sobbed softly. You felt your back hit the wooden surface of the door while he affectionately grazed the tip of his nose against yours.

“... May I?” he breathed against your lips, slowly inching his way to close the gap. You acquiesced, capturing his lips with yours tenderly. You sighed as you indulged in the softness of his lips while he snaked his hand to the small of your back, gently pulling you closer. Slowly, the both of you pulled away. Ominis winced slightly when he unconsciously smiled, forgetting about his busted lip in the midst of his small moment of joy. Realization dawned upon you, and you immediately grabbed your wand from your pocket.

“Episkey!”

Ominis felt a hot and cold sensation all over his grazes and other minor wounds. He reached for his lip and touched it gingerly, only to find out that the wound has completely healed itself. You held his hand gently while he raised his other as you used the spell once again, ridding his knuckles of its injuries.

Unable to contain himself any longer, Ominis leaned towards you once again, latching his lips onto yours while you instinctively wrapped your arms around his neck. Ominis deftly reached for the doorknob, an audible click reaching your ears as he locked it. You gently pushed the male backwards until the back of his legs hit the edge of the nearest bed. Ominis sat on the mattress while you straddled his lap, nibbling gently on his newly healed lower lip. His lips parted slightly while your tongue immediately snaked inside his cavern. However, on June 7, San Francisco County Superior Court Judge Maria Evangelista issued a temporary non-harassment order.Adams v. Nor does the claim that Gulley "fakes" Adams change the analysis. That claim seems merely reflective of the fact that Gulley's subreddits are called "scienceontrial" and "sarritaadams," although the subreddits in context are clearly Criticize Adams and the Science Trial There are Cited by Adams and Science on Trials. Using company or person names for critical purposes is generally considered legally permissible, e.g. Lamparello v. Falwell (4th Circuit Court of Appeals, 2005).

She is a member of Epsilon chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and in 2002 became a charter member of Rho Chi, the first European chapter. Dr. Milstead received the Gamma Mu Chapter Award for Excellence in Nursing, the first Search for Excellence Award from the American Nurses Association/SC Nurses Association and was honored by the OH House of Representatives and the SC General Assembly for her leadership and service. She has been cited twice in the Congressional Record for leadership. She was honored with the Duquesne University Creative Teaching Award for designing and implementing the first online course taught in the first PhD in Nursing program in the world that is offered completely online and a University of Toledo award as a “Pioneer” in distance education. Dr. Milstead served as chair of the Board of Commissioners of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Commission on Nurse Certification, chair of the Health Policy Council of ONA, and currently is an active member of the Expert Panel on Global Health and Nursing for the American Academy of Nursing. She is an appointed member of the Patient Centered Medical Homes Education Advisory Group and was elected Vice Chair in 2010. From 2005 through 2008 she was an appointed member of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority where she served as chair of the Seaport Committee and the Human Resources Committee. She was a member of a trade delegation to China in April 2006 and has conducted research and consultation in The Netherlands, Jordan, Nicaragua, and Cuba. I have fluctuating dysphoria, ranging from severe to nonexistent and identify as semi-dysphoric. I’m proffessionally diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder with psychotic features, and was at one point diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder. I’m self diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and associative synesthesia. I’m seeking a diagnosis for my SPD. I’m a suicide and self harm survivor, two years clean of both. (Nov 6th 2016)
