La SNSM et le chantier Couach ont finalisé, ce 17 octobre, le contrat de conception et de réalisation de la nouvelle gamme de canots de sauvetage. Le chantier naval Couach sera l’unique maître d’œuvre pour ce renouvellement de la flotte. De 35 à 140 bateaux remplacés Ce programme, appelé « Nouvelle Flotte », répond au besoin de renouvellement de la flotte de vedettes de l’association des sauveteurs en mer. Plusieurs accidents graves ont mis en évidence ce besoin de rajeunir la flotte de vedettes de sauvetage. L’association y travaillait depuis plusieurs années. Le renouvellement de la flotte concerne 140 bateaux, sur une période de 10 ans pour un montant avoisinant les 100 millions d'€. Ce contrat porte sur une première tranche ferme de l'ordre de 25 millions d'euros pour la fourniture de 35 bateaux sur cinq ans, puis sur une seconde tranche optionnelle du même montant, pour le même nombre de navires et également sur cinq ans. Enfin, suivant finances de la SNSM, le contrat prévoit la mise à disposition de la SNSM d'une capacité industrielle de production lui permettant de satisfaire l'ensemble de ses besoins de renouvellement, à savoir 140 bateaux sur 10 ans. Une étude innovante pour des bateaux modernes Pour la réalisation de ces nouveaux bateaux, la maîtrise d'ouvrage du programme est assurée par la SNSM elle-même. En effet, les bateaux ont été conçus en collaboration avec de nombreux sauveteurs issus des stations de sauvetage, des participants des services et des directions de la SNSM ainsi que d’acteurs institutionnels du sauvetage comme la Direction des Affaires Maritimes. L’idée étant d concevoir un bateau répondant u mieux aux besoins de leurs missions. Tout a été réfléchie, jusqu’à la conception de la cabine, pour répondre, par exemple à l’évolution de la sociologie des sauveteurs.
Le chantier Couach assure, lui, la maîtrise d'œuvre de conception et de réalisation de la gamme de navires et les prestations associées. Les principaux intervenants coopérants sont le cabinet d'architecture navale Barreau-Neuman, la société Z-Nautic et sa marque AKA pour les navires semi-rigides et Numeca, bureau d'étude CFD. Les nouveaux bateaux seront standardisés, tout en étant personnalisables, selon les zones d’intervention.
