There are too many ships for me to put in so I'm making a 2nd part so that's why not all of the yes 5 ships are in this. I want to note I'm pretty early into Yes 5 so I don't know all ships that are shown in the series so I might not know all of them I also wanted to note. When the 2nd poll comes out and a week passed by for both whichever ships wins both of the polls will go against each other as a finale

Yes! Precure 5 Gogo! Episode Guide
In case you want to watch Otona Precure but completely forgot what happened in the Yes! 5 series, here's a refresher on the eps that are actually important. Season 1's list has also been updated.
Plot is bolded. Recommended filler (character development oriented) is italicized. Skippable episodes grouped in block quote. For insight into how I decided what was what, look at the read more.
1 — Start
2 — So what even is going on, anyway?
3 — Syrup & Mailpo (+Komachi highlights, Emerald Saucer)
4 — Urara’s audition pt 1... +1 Monarch, get! (+ Syrup focus, Prism Chain)
5 — JK the Monarch’s snoozing. Here’s Karen’s student council duties (Sapphire Arrow, some Syrup focus)
6 — Donut King wakes up (Rin + Syrup focus, Fire Strike)
7 — Visit to Palmier Kingdom (Milk focus; Nozo x Coco, Koma/Nuts bait) Main thing that’s important (blue seed) is flashbacked to later.
8 — Letter from an unlikely sender (Syrup focus) Anything important is covered again in ep 13
9 — Detective Komachi (comedic)
10 — Milky Rose
11 — First Henchman defeated
12 — Kurumi joins school
13 — Syrup lore
14 — Kurumi’s identity
15 — Childhood Best Friends Refresher #1: Rin & Nozomi (+1 Monarch, get!) More of Rin protecting Nozomi (like her first Cure episode in S1) 16 — Childhood Best Friends Refresher #2: Komachi & Karen Basically S1 Ep28, which they directly reference.
17 — IRL comedian propaganda (not really funny)
18 — Urara trying at her job pt 2 (Urara + Syrup focus)
19 — Karen writes a letter to her parents (Karen & Kurumi focus)
20 — Komachi & Madoka
21 — Group cooking (Rin & Nozomi focus)
22 — Nozomi teaches Rin’s siblings (Nozomi, Syrup, Coco focus)
23 — Midseason Crisis
24 — New Finisher
25 — New henchmen, Syrup moves in
26 — The Precure save a city
27 — Komachi conducts exposure therapy on Rin
28 — Monarch #3...and she’s really annoying...and in love with Coco. And doesn’t say anything new lore wise. 29 — Yet another new henchman who plays tennis. (Rin & Karen focus) 30 — A wonky Kaguyahime (Nozomi & Kurumi focus)
31 — New powerup for Milky Rose (Kurumi & Nuts focus)
32 — Ant-sized Precure 33 — A friend's curry shop needs to curry favor with the public! (Urara focus)
34 — Goodbye annoying Monarch (Nozomi x Coco) Honestly, I feel like this is skippable too but if you don’t watch this you won’t have any episodes with this Monarch according to this guide.
35 — Bunbee Cringe Reel
36 — Rigged Quiz Show Part 1 (Karen & Kurumi focus)
37 — Rigged Quiz Show Part 2 (Karen & Kurumi focus)
38 — Red & Blue Rose Powerup that is never seen again (Kurumi & Nozomi focus, henchmen defeated)
39 — Last Monarch (Karen focus)
40 — Urara’s audition part 3 (Urara + Syrup focus)
41 — Tennis/Magician henchman finally reveals his identity to them (Rin focus)
42 — Goodbye Evil Granny (Komachi focus)
43 — A visit from the Director (Nozomi focus)
44 — The Precure act as Santa (Syrup focus) The fight with the henchman is basically all that’s relevant, since it alerts him to the existence of a letter
45-48 — Finale
Long explanation of methodology below:
When I make these guides, I generally aim for the least amount of required episodes to follow major developments. If an important fact is introduced in one episode and then is flashed back to in a subsequent episode, I'll just mark the second as plot instead of the first because the necessary information is repeated. As such, I may mark the introduction (and sometimes death) of a villain as non plot if they don't actually introduce any new mechanic or real threat and are just showing that they exist or don't exist anymore. This is also because most villains in Precure don't actually get a development arc.
In this season, plot refers to Syrup's storyline, the rose garden, and any new major Precure powers. I also bothered to mark villain defeats for this one since they seemed to be trying a little more than normal to show us villain relations (primarily in Anacondy's cruel desperation). And the ones that had nothing to do with anyone's character development got vaporized in new powerups which would have been marked as plot anyway.
As for the monarchs, well. They're technically plot since they need 4 of them to open the road to the rose garden, but they also don't add much to the show in terms of character development (besides the first one, Donut King). At some point when it feels like a "gotta catch 'em all" situation like in S1, I really didn't feel like people would be missing out on much by not seeing all their introduction episodes.
Recommended filler indicates one or more of the following:
There is some form of character exploration here, whether that's development, talking about their past, or showcasing a new relationship dynamic between multiple characters. Basically, if I feel like it's somewhat new to them and not just reaffirming the status quo at the end of it, I mark it as recommended.
They get some small new attack that didn't have a ton of buildup to it. (If it really feels like it's pulled out of nowhere I may just mark it as filler, though that didn't happen in this season.)
The episode is particularly comedic (these are always marked in case you still want to skip them.)
The episode is strangely well directed and yet it isn't a plot episode, or it generally stands out in setup
They had some plot information that is sort of repeated in the future but not completely flashed back to. In which case it's a gray area and I just threw it in here and probably left a note.
And filler is everything else. Maybe it's really boring or annoying to watch, maybe it's just an okay episode that would be enjoyable for someone who isn't looking for much character development. Maybe it's a character learning the same lesson over again and was marked as filler for repetition. You can always watch the previews from previous episodes to see if the content piques your interest.

Otona Precure!
I finally watched the whole season and here are my highlights:
Bunbee had the best character development. From an enemy in Yes 5! to a motivational speaker. I know his actual job is being a salesman but his speech was wonderful to say the least. He might be my favorite redeemed villain in Precure. I really enjoyed seeing him!
I love Nozomi x Coco. I'm so happy for them. They always support each other and they are partners for life.
Urara's song made me feel nostalgic. I wonder why she prefers acting in theater over music, cinema or TV? She really has so many options.
Kurumi's troubles made me afraid of corporate environment. I want to quit teaching and go abroad but I can't imagine myself being in a corporate like that.
I could also relate to Karen's patient. Being in a hospital for a long time and doing physical therapy is painful. I hated when I had to do this so many times. If my followers read this, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR HEALTH AND MOBILITY FOR GRANTED.
Komachi's interest in history and learning new things made me excited for her.
I never watched Splash Star, but Saki and Mai seem as close as Mirai and Riko. I don't believe their straight relationships will last long. They can just be with each other instead.
I hope there will be more sequels and more mahou shoujo series aimed for adult audiences.
I want a sequel for DokiDoki and Go Princess. Regina deserves to be a Cure and I want Haruka x Kanata to be together.
Hugtto needs a prequel with the Cure Tomorrow gang. I wonder how their future got so bad they had to travel back in time.

OtonaPre comes out in like less than a week now, and there are so many questions still yet unanswered that have been on my mind
Is this going to be simulcasted by Crunchyroll? Crunchyroll has already started posting their Fall 2023 anime schedule, and OtonaPre is not on the list. Maybe it's a last minute reveal though, some of the recent PreCure seasons have cut it close with being revealed before simulcasting. In a way, I can understand because the three seasons represented in this anime so far, are mostly unavailable to watch legally outside of Japan, and it would be a little weird to stream the adult sequel anime without the prior requisite material. Granted, they could license Splash Star, Yes5, and Yes5GoGo, but I doubt it would happen all at once, especially this close to the airing date. Either way, I'm sure this will get fansubbed if it's not officially picked up.
Are Nagisa and Honoka (and Hikari) showing up in this anime? Since both the Yes5 and Splash Star girls are here, it seems like the logical conclusion is that the original Allstars team (comprising the first five seasons of PreCure) will be the main cast. Maybe some other seasons' girls will be shown, but probably as cameos like in the Allstars movies. (cont.)
(cont.) So a couple days ago, the PreCure 20th anniversary Twitter started posting countdowns to the premiere of OtonaPre, starting from the 8th day. 8 days for each of the 8 women shown off so far, the 6 women from Yes5, and the 2 from Splash Star. Now that we have less than a week to go, it seems like there are no more big reveals, so either Nagisa and Honoka are secret reveals once the anime starts airing, or they're not showing up at all?
On that note, what about the men from Yes5, Coco, Nuts, and Syrup? If Milk is on Earth and seemingly has a job, it's probably likely they'll appear as well. As an adult-oriented sequel, they'll probably (and unfortunately) play more into the romance aspect they brushed on in the main anime, with Nozomi x Coco, Komachi x Nuts, and Urara x Syrup. That's why I felt it's a bit odd that they're also hiding their cards with regards to their reveals. (cont.)
(cont.) In the trailer, there's a shot of a photo from when the women were still teenagers, and one photo has Nuts and Syrup in the background. I find it a little peculiar that Coco is left out, as if the intent is to play up the "big reveal" and main romance (🤮) later down the line.
Is this anime going to be solely slice of life, or will it also have the women transform into Pretty Cure again? The trailer teases a villain, so maybe they will fight again. Something similar happened in the Smile PreCure light novel, from what I read of vague descriptions.

Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo Episodes 13-24
Forget about everything, this is an Urara fan account now.
Part 2 of the GoGo reviews, reaching the mid-point of the season. And I honestly don't know where to start?
Like, I'm still enjoying the season and they had some pretty good episodes in this portion I'm covering now, but different from the beginning where it seemed like there was a pretty good and coherent 12-episodes arc happening, it didn't feel like we had this progression in here. Which it doesn't necessarily hurt the series, it just hurts me because I don't know how to tackle this post since there's not much of a linear thing going on. XD Probably the only linear thing going on is the mystery about Syrup's past and how we have his arc developing, and that is pretty good, don't get me wrong, but if I would write a post based on that I would be talking about only 4 or 5 episodes out of 12. XD
When thinking about these episodes we can kinda separate them into four groups, we have four fairy tale episodes, six episodes focused for each one of the main girls, two episodes for the bigger picture, and one episode that is completely disconnected from everything and it's definitely the low point of this section and of the season so far.
Going on first at the stand-alone episode, Episode 17. The reason why I don't like this episode it's because it's one of those episodes where a famous comedian does a cameo on the show, and I honestly don't know who thought it was a good idea to make these a thing. These cameos should be just cameos, not an entire episode focused on this comedian, who most definitely isn't what the targeted audience consumes or wants to consume, so there's not an actual reason to put them there for more than a couple of scenes in the first place. Not even to mention how awkward it is having them trying to dub their characters, at least for the guy in this episode if felt like he was not comfortable at all while saying his lines, it was just a pretty bad experience.
But moving on, at the beginning of this second act, a new general of Eternal is introduced and thanks to her we have a series of episodes that watching them from the future seems like were ideas of episodes for Smile Precure. XD And I really like the addition of Shibiretta and her powers of creating these pocket dimensions or so based on fairy tales and storybooks because it helps to break a little of the usual stuff we would see happening just in their city and it's a pretty decent change of pace, I also like how she works by dividing the team because we can see more of their dynamics like this and it's all just very fun.
Like, my favorite episode of these is the episode focused on Komachi and Karen where they're brought in to the world of Hansel and Gretel with Nozomi and they end up captured in the candy house, but together Karen and Komachi get to trick Shibiretta into leaving them alone which gives Nozomi the chance of getting to the house and helping them escape, and it's just so clever and so fun at the same time, is amazing. I also love the creative ways in which they used Emerald Saucer and Sapphire Arrow in the episode, I feel like precure doesn't do that enough with attacks that have a stock footage for them so whenever that happens it always makes me very happy. And speaking of creative powers, can we talk about how versatile Mint is? Like, she's a defensive cure on her core, but in this season we've seen her attacking, defending, and giving support with her attack that is technically just a green circle thing, it's so amazing and it proves that defensive cures can work outside just creating barriers and we need more cures like her.
The character-focused episodes were a bit of a hit or miss, Urara had an excellent episode but the other girls didn't have the same luck. Nozomi's episode where she tutors Rin's siblings was pretty good and marked a very important step for her considering her dream of becoming a teacher, and it was very sweet in a lot of moments, but they added stuff in there with Syrup and Coco that didn't feel like it belonged in that episode and thus brings it down a little. Rin is kinda funny and tragic at the same time because she's the only one to get two episodes, but since them are so focused on her friendship with Nozomi and since Nozomi has such a huge presence both episodes end up being more about Nozomi than Rin so we still don't get a lot of her. Komachi's episode was cute but also a bit forgettable because I feel like they didn't use to the fullest the concept of her being concerned for her sister's future. Karen's episode also suffers from this, I feel like since they shared her episode with the Urashima Taro tale her conflict of not being able to tell her parents about her plans for the future ends up being put in the back and the episode loses itself on that a little bit. And Kurumi's episode fails because it's supposed to be the episode where her identity is revealed, but since it was pretty obvious that Kurumi is Milk the episode doesn't work in the way they thought it should.
As I mentioned Urara's episode is the only one to stand out here. First, because of the technical parts, the composition of the scenes, the use of colors and lighting, it's all very beautiful, and while the drawings and the animation aren't perfect all the time, they invested where they should and all keen scenes are a delight to the eyes. I also really like the plot of the episode, this episode is for both Urara and Syrup, but different from the episodes for Rin and Nozomi, here it feels like a more equal thing, you know? This episode is to show Syrup that affection, support, and caring for people can come in different ways, not just the obvious ones, just as much as this episode is to show how Urara's dream is hard for her to achieve but because it's so important to her she holds to it and she gains strength for keep pushing forward in order to reach it. Also putting this one in conjunction with episode 4 we can see they're drawing a relationship between Syrup and Urara, I don't know how much the show wants it to be romantic because we didn't have much about it yet, but if they want to go this route I feel like it's a pairing that I can buy, both because they seem to regulate in age and they also had this thing being developed slowly, different from Coco X Nozomi and Nuts x Komachi. Also Urara's song this time around is way better than her old song.
Now for the big picture, the things of the major plot. While we had only two episodes dedicate to moving this plot forward (23 and 24) we had small bits of this happening here and there. To begin in episode 13 we have established that Syrup is not native from the Palmier Kingdom and he has no memories of his life before getting there, which becomes important for the plot of episodes 23 and 24 to happen. Then in episode 14 King Doughnuts suddenly isn't bound to the pact anymore, he goes back to his kingdom, and in the next episode we're greeted with the next monarch, Queen Bavarois, who's more or less just used as a joke but that finally gave the girls the ability to use their phone-like transformation devices as a communication tool in episode 19. The final things to appear before episodes 23 and 24 is Syrup's quarrel with Coco and the crown of the Palmier Kingdom appearing out of nowhere to them.
And it's in that last part where most of my problems of this part reside, because while Syrup was always bickering Coco it was never so aggressive, so mean spirited as it happened in episode 22 and it felt out of place there. I think they missed putting the thing that flipped the switch and make Syrup really angry at Coco and with how he was acting so it would make the anger feel justifiable and would make the events of episodes 23 and 24 have more impact.
And speaking of those two episodes, while they were a pretty good climax for the mid of the season it also felt like some of the things that happened there shouldn't have happened at this moment but in the climax for the end of the season instead. More specifically Syrup and Coco meeting the Director and out of this encounter we getting a resolution for Coco and Syrup's relationship, a hint that Syrup has a relation with the Director and a hint that the Director and Flora also have a thing. Maybe not for Coco and Syrup, but it felt like it was too early to drop the hints, if not too early I think it got shoved way into our faces. Like, the big bad guy who's supposed to be very powerful just let Coco and Syrup go because he was shocked when he listened to Flora's name, it's already weird that the dude didn't move a finger when Syrup gets into the room with the Rose Pact on hand, then he flinches with the mention of Flora and then afterward we have a scene of him thinking of her making it obvious that there's more here, it wasn't a flinch that could pass as if it was nothing as if it was a case of "he hates her" or "his nemesis was mentioned", the way they presented it made it look very obvious that there was a previous relationship here, and if that's the case I feel like it would be more beneficial if we had this information closer to the final episodes. But we still have half of the season to go so maybe they'll work that on in a longer way for the next episodes.
My final problem with this whole thing is just how useless they made Nuts be, like he was left behind in the human world when everyone else was sent to Eternal, and at the end Coco summons the power of the crown by himself and it's framed like he's being crowned as the one and only king. It feels like Nuts was downgraded to one of the Monarchs that transformed themselves into Palmins because at this point that's how much relevant he has been, heck at this time his screen time is probably just as big as Doughnut and Bavarois, it's ridiculous. Not to mention that there's only one crown and we should technically have two kings, but they mentioned the crown was lost when the kingdom was first attacked so that's at least justifiable, but it shows just how they don't care for him at all and makes me question why is he still here, like if he's not gonna do anything here at least send him back to the Palmier Kingdom, you know?
But in any case, with the power of the crown, the cures got new weapons and a new group attack, AND I LOVE THEM. I LOOOOOOVEthe fleurets, it's one of my favorite precure weapons ever, I love their design, it's pretty much a lightsaber but gay and I love everything about it, and I also think it's pretty cool how the names of each Fleuret reflects their attacks from season one. And while the CGI roses they use are a bit odd, I love how in the attack they look like knights' stances, I know they're not really knights but there's something very Three Musketeers going on in the imagery, like if they were a royal guard of sorts, which it's pretty cool considering this power-up came from the crown of a king so it has this extra special feeling.
And that pretty much does it for now, GoGo has been a very strong and very consistent season so far, I'm loving talking about it, no joke, this is one of the few instances where I sit down to write and everything just flows naturally, it's being a joy not just to watch but also to write about it. But these are just my feelings, let me know what you think of these episodes in specific or your feelings about GoGo in general, I'll love to read them. Stay healthy, stay safe, never stop resisting, thank you so so much for reading, and until the next time. See-ya, everyone~

honestly this is true
Oh Nuts, what have you done? You’ve gone and hurt Komachi’s feelings with your bluntness and now all the other girls are upset at you. Meanwhile, Despariah has started making moves in Nightmare. How wil this end for our heroines?
The Plot
Komachi shares a draft of her novel, Pirate Hurricane with the other girls, and they all love it. Coco suggests she have Nuts read it, because he’s a voracious reader and might offer some good feedback. However, he returns and says he doesn’t understand what she was trying to say with the story and if the author has to explain the meaning, then it’s not very good. Okay he actually says “It’s worthless as a book.” Harsh. This upsets Komachi and she leaves for the day, while the other four scold Nuts for his rudeness. He maintains that he didn’t do anything wrong by giving his asked-for opinion, and feels no need to apologize. However, Coco can tell that he’s angry at himself for hurting her and wants to make amends.
Over in Nightmare HQ, a meeting between Bunbee, Arachnea, and Kawarino gets interrupted by Despariah herself, making her first full appearance:
She explains that the Palmier Kingdom should be in despair, but they cling to hope because of the Dream Collet, so they need to crush Precure, retrieve the collet, plunge the kingdom into despair, and then she will be satisfied.
The next day, Nuts receives a visitor at his shop: a tall girl riding a motorcycle who looks like an older Komachi. This is Akimoto Madoka and she has come to deliver some mamedaifuku from their shop at the behest of her younger sister, Komachi. Some banter between him and the other girls clues Madoka into what’s going on, and she takes Nuts’s side, explaining that Komachi is the type to sulk after having her feelings hurt, and that if she can’t handle this level of criticism, she won’t make it as an author. Nozomi, Karen, Rin, and Urara take objection to this, insisting that she’s really talented, can improve her writing with hard work and practice, that she resembles the main character in her story who never gives up, and that she can pull through because her feelings are that strong. Madoka says she’ll pass that encouragement on, but Nuts asks to go see her in person, so she brings him to the Akimoto residence and summons her sister.
Their reunion is awkward and Komachi berates her own work and herself for daring to feel happy about it. Nuts tries to encourage her by saying “Are your dreams so worthless that you’d sell them away for nothing!?” which is not a particularly helpful statement. The other four girls emerge from the bush they were hiding in to chew out Nuts again, and he tries to explain that he’s not mad at her, but before he can explain himself, they all get sucked into the pages of Komachi’s manuscript. They awaken on the deck of the pirate ship in the story, as Arachnea taunts that they’re all going to drown at sea and it will be an unhappy ending. She creates a Kowaina out of the ship’s mast and rigging, and the girls transform. However, the monster is very fast and manages to tie them up in ropes and thrash them around, flinging them into walls and floors and even the water. Mint blames herself for creating this world, but Nuts says she should be angry at being used, and that nothing will change if she just blames herself. He reiterates that she’ll improve at writing if she keeps practicing. Arachnea isn’t interested in this conversation and the monster whips around again, causing Nuts to drop the Dream Collet. He hurries to retrieve it but Arachnea lunges towards him at breakneck speed. It doesn’t look good... until Mint jumps in and retrieves him at the last second!
She insists that her story is not a tragedy and she determines what the ending is! She blocks Arachnea and the Kowaina with Mint Protection, Dream kicks at her while Lemonade uses Lemonade Flash to distract her, Rouge binds the Kowaina in its own ropes, and Aqua uses Aqua Stream to destroy the monster! Arachnea beats a retreat while muttering that the story is lame.
When they return to Komachi’s house, Nuts tells her that her story has lots of room for improvement, but he likes the main character, finds the idea good, and says that she can bring out the story’s potential if she keeps polishing it. Komachi vows to rewrite her story and invites Nuts to read her next draft.
The Analysis
The core of this episode is about how to deliver and respond to criticism. Nuts may be well-meaning in his remarks but his tone is very curt and tactless. Komachi takes his comments deeply personally and feels that she is a failure as an author. The reality is that, as an aspiring author, Komachi needs to get used to criticism, and that critique of a work isn’t inherently an outright condemnation of the work or the author. Since this is evidently her first attempt at writing a more serious work than a school essay, it’s inevitable that there are going to be a lot of problems structurally, narratively, in the pacing, tone, etc. Her peers all find her work to be good, because they’re not used to picking apart more long-form and complicated stories, but their praise makes her overconfident, and that’s when Nuts comes along and tears her down. I can completely understand why she’s hurt. I know I’ve poured my heart out in writing before only for it to come back marked up to hell and have lots of comments about flow, redundancy, and things like that. Having your hard work torn apart like that can hurt. But when done right, it’s a necessary part of helping you to improve your skills. At the end, Komachi realizes that her work has value and takes ownership of it, refusing to let Arachnea dictate the ending for her, which I love.
That’s another note: Nuts, at the start, was not being a very good critic. He basically said “It’s bad and I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish.” He didn’t give her much guidance on what to improve, and he didn’t really recognize this until confronted. He knew he hurt Komachi, he wanted to make amends, and during the climax he was able to say “If you keep practicing, you’ll get better at writing” and finally at the end he told her aspects of the story that he liked, and areas she could improve upon. That’s how you go about criticism, and that’s what I try to do in my reviews is to say “I didn’t like this because X and I think it would be better if Y.” Sometimes I may not have a better idea, but I’ll at least try to justify my dislike. Nuts has to fight his own visceral reactions in order to help Komachi improve as a writer, and that represents growth for him. He cares about people, he’s just bad at showing it, and Nuts and Komachi’s relationship through these two seasons will be another big one to explore and watch develop. I like his body language throughout. He keeps his arms crossed or in his pockets, he’s usually looking down, he knows he screwed up but he’s too proud to admit it. At the end when he finally talks to her and gives her positive feedback, he can’t look her in the eyes, because he’s still embarrassed, but his eyes are pointed up. It’s progress.
Next order of business is Akimoto Madoka. She looks a lot like her younger sister, which is to be expected, but she’s taller, has a fuller figure, has lighter colored hair, and her hairstyle is more practical than Komachi’s mullet, as Madoka just wears a typical bob cut.
Madoka has a very easy-going personality, really embodying the “cool older sibling” trope. She’s first introduced riding a motorcycle, and she instantly bonds with Nozomi and co, while being unphased by Nuts’s initial rudeness. She is very astute and quickly picks up on the strife between Nuts and Komachi. The only time she seems to get at all upset is when the gang is making a big commotion, and that’s because they all got sucked into Komachi’s story. She serves as a good foil for her somewhat timid sister, and knows how to push her in the right direction. She’s an enjoyable character who I’d like to see recur. I believe she makes a few subsequent appearances but I don’t remember how often, so we’ll experience that together.
Let’s change sides and talk about Nightmare! This is our first full look at Despariah, and wow is she something. She wears a white mask resembling a traditional Japanese doll, her long golden hair is styled in an edo fashion, shaped like a fan with four tendrils emerging from gem on her forehead, and two side locks that come down to her waist. She wears a dark colored dress with a kimono collar, and huge shoulder pads. Her shoulders are extremely broad while her waist is very narrow, giving her inhuman proportions. She commands your attention and you can tell she’s in charge. There’s still some mystery to her appearance even here, because she’s only seen sitting at her desk, and most of the time she’s distorted by the effect of the screen she’s displayed on within Nightmare HQ.
brutal
I appreciate how she cut into the corporate bickering and explained, in no uncertain terms, where the problem was with their operation, despite having already conquered the Palmier Kingdom and supposedly plunging them into despair. Bunbee needs some hand-holding to follow her logic, but it comes down to defeating Precure and retrieving the Dream Collet so she can gain immortality and crush the hope of the rest of the world. She means business.
Arachnea’s plan this round was pretty inspired, especially compared to some of her lesser hits like luring the girls into the sewer for no reason. Sucking them all into Komachi’s book and using her own created world against her? That’s twisted! And she really hammers in the idea that she is in control of the narrative now and they’re all going to drown, trying to attack Komachi’s self esteem at the same time as literally attacking her. I respect that, in the sense that you respect a good villain plot, because it’s better than pure physical attacks. Also there’s a moment, where Arachnea sees the Dream Collet on the ground, that she LUNGES and it’s pretty incredible.
All of these elements combine to make another fantastic episode. I had forgotten just how strong the first half of Yes 5 was, and I’m really glad to be revisiting it for this project. They’re doing a good job at balancing out a lot more main characters than in previous shows, even if it’s at the cost of memorable supporting characters. However, there’s room for diversity in this franchise, so a different spin on the idea is fine. It’s working very well so far, after all!
Next tine on Precure Daily, Rin has a crush! Also it’s time to sell a Precure-branded toy that otherwise has absolutely nothing to do with the show. Look forward to it?
