not sure what your plans or chronologically for the grumpy universe
but could you write something where tiny is a teenager and she’s going through a rebellious phase. out late, parties, that sort of vibe
TEENAGE TERRORS — alessia russo x teen!reader
buckle up she’s a long one! i didn’t really know how i was going to end this so the ending is a little iffy but ENJOY!
lil psa, not wanting to disappoint anyone but this is probably one of the only ones i’ll write with lovie as a teen just as its a little bit more difficult to get the dynamics right. i’m sorry, i still love you all🤍

grumpy masterlist
you were now sixteen, however you were still your mums little girl.
your mum had since retired from football and had moved into working still within the football scene: part time football pundit for the international matches but still giving back to the local clubs making sure that girls sports was supported in a way they should be.
since you were now able to look after yourself, your mum was rarely around during the week. always being out the house sometimes before you even woke up having to be somewhere for a meeting.
but it worked out well as you would be at school, and then after that she would pick you up from school and drive you to football training and sit and watch you flourish in a sport that had quite literally been your entire life.
you still lived in london, but you had moved slightly further from central london from the first home you lived in when you moved to london all those moons ago. still going to all of arsenal's home games at the emirates both men's and women's.
hoping one day that would be you, you on the field playing for your club.
your mum still very much good friends with her teammates she used to play with, most coming around on a weekend to visit when they had the time. but most importantly, ella was around at every chance she could.
you could have sworn at one point she had moved in for a little bit while her boyfriend had been away on a work trip, alessia sometimes wondering when ella was around if she had one child or two.
alessia had a lot of trust in you, she didn't think she had to worry about you being lead down the wrong path.
you were naturally quite clever, your grades in school were very good, your teachers would never really have a bad word to say about you, maybe the fact you were a little chatty in the wrong moments, and you had a good group of friends which alessia had met and there impression to her was good.
but you also had a strong head on your shoulders. you weren't the type to let others tell you what to do.
but with that you were a teenager and your mum should've maybe been a little more tentative in what you did with your spare time.
it was easy to slip things past your mum as for one she wasn't exactly the hardest to convince — something you more often than you would like to admit used to your full advantage.
which is why when you started coming home late, being out every weekend at someone else's house for party's your mum didn't exactly pick up on anything. your mum just thought you were having fun, she trusted you that you knew what was sensible and what wasn't.
but maybe the trust each time you were late home, or came home smelling of alcohol was being stretched further and further like a rubber band to the point where it could break at any point.
which is what lead to the weekend, you were off to another party.
"mum! i'm going out now, i'll see you later" you called out from the hallway as you touched up your hair in the large floor mirror that hung in the hallway.
your mum sat in the living room watching a series on the large tv that took up a large part of the wall, a small glass of white wine in her hand as a small way for the blonde to unwind after a busy week.
"wait, lovie. c'mere!" your mum called out quickly at the sound of the door keys being rattled around. you huffing slightly at you checked the time on your phone before poking your head into the living room.
your mum turning so that she could see you a sad look adorning on your mothers face, "you never said you were going out? i thought you were staying in, we were gonna do a movie night remember?"
you eyebrows knitted together with confusion, ok you may have forgotten to tell your mum your weekend plans but you couldn't just cancel your plans with your friends now, it was too late.
"i- uh. i did i told you in the car on the way back from training on wednesday!" you lied, you were now getting a little impatient as your mum hummed, she still not really remembering if you had or not a lot having happened since wednesday night.
"we can have our movie night another time, i really need to go now. i'll be back later mum" you spoke fast and your mum could sense the urgency that you had to leave.
"right, what time will you be back?" your mum asked, as you thought for a moment not wanting to say to early but also not too late that your mum would complain.
"about eleven maybe" you shrugged, the maybe coming out a little quieter, more of a whisper.
"ok lovie, but no drinking please you have an important match tomorrow, have fun but be-"
"-sensible i know mum! bye i love you" were the last words spoken to your mum as you dashed out the room and the front door before alessia even had a chance to blink.
you managed to make it to the party just on time, it happened to only be a few blocks from your house but you as always you underestimate the time it's going to take for you to get ready.
you got to the party, there being a lot more people than you expected. it taking you a little while longer to locate your friends over the booming noise of the music and the amoung of people inside the house.
but luckily you were able to find your friends, your four friends englufing you in a tight squeeze as they fiilled you in with what you had missed since arriving late.
you loved your friends, you would do anything for them and they had been there since pretty much the beginning and the five of you were pretty much inseparble.
there was emilia who was definetly the most outspoken out the four of you, you not too far second in that race, she would say anything and everything on her mind. but like every teenage girl she had two sides to her lovely and like butter wouldnt melt on the outside but deep inside her she was a total bitch.
there was olivia, she was emilia's ride or die, the two of them knowing each other since preschool and one thing about olivia is she would do anything for emilia even if meant she or others would get hurt in the process.
then there was isabella or bella as everyone called her, she was the newest addition to the friend group havign just transfered schools, but she was too nice for her own good meaning she was a little naive to her surroundings and some peoples meaning.
and finally your best friend poppy, the girl you trusted with your entire life - quite literally. the two of you had been joined to the hip since your first day at school, clicking instantly. you considered the girl as a sister. alessia always thinking you and poppy reminded her a lot of her and ella when they were younger.
once you had caught up with your friends the night went on you were just enjoying socialising, you always up for meeting new people although it was a little hard in a dimly lit room and blaring music over the top.
"what you drinking tonight then russo?" emilia asked you with a dopey smile, a red solo cup in her hand as she slouched next to you on the couch. you were most definitely the only one there that was still sober.
"just sprite" you shrugged, holding you cup up as emilia let out a little laugh.
"why you being boring russo, just have a drink let your hair down" emilia giggled as she began to sway slightly from side to side with the music but she definitely wasn't in time with the beat like she thought she was.
you shook your head, "i can't, i have a match in the morning and i promised my mum-"
"oh why are you so bothered about all that stupid football jazz. your never gonna make it pro, you would have already! just face it your never gonna be the big name your mum was!" emilia slurred so casually, the words just rolling off her tongue like she was just repeating words she had rehearsed for days.
emilia was off squealing at some boy as she dragged him to dance with her all before you could even process what she'd said. your body just slumping into its self.
"you okay?" a voice said over the beat of the loud music which felt even louder now, your ears ringing. you looked up, your eyes slightly watered as you nodded. it was just poppy.
"yep” you popped your lip looking at the floor before turning to look at your best friend, “can you get me a drink?" you looked up hopeful, as poppy looked at you with knitted eyebrows, confusion filled her face. you didn’t drink.
"what? another sprite?" she asked as you quickly shook your head, "no, something else, vodka? anything. just make it strong?"
"are you sure your okay?" poppy asked again, it was unusual for you to drink never mind ask for a strong drink. your best friend beginning to be slightly worried about the sudden change in your behaviour as you sighed frustratedly.
"yes! just get me the fucking drink poppy!" you snapped as poppy quickly left her red solo cup next to you, mumbling she would be a few minutes.
and to your luck, she was back a few minutes later a red solo cup in her hand, handing it to you. a clear liquid in the cup as you peered into the cup.
"it's straight vod-"
you didn't bother listening to what poppy had to say, instead chugging the vodka. the feeling of the burning down your throat, the same feeling hitting your stomach as when emilia said those words to you.
but right now you wanted to forget that, forget everything, you wanted your mind to be clear, just like the colour of the liquid your just downed.
you felt your head begin to get lighter with each drink you had, before you were starting to not even be able to walk straight never mind put a sentence together.
the night just flushing into a blur, as for the first time you felt free. like nothing mattered. nobody knew your name or used you for your last name. you were just y/n.
lovie🩷 -> hey alessia, it's poppy, y/n's in quite a state and she was about to start walking home by herself but i don't think that's a good idea so my mum is going to drop her home when she picks me up.
mumma🤍 -> hi poppy, is she okay? did something happen?
lovie🩷 -> she's conscious but i don't think she knows what's going on, she had quite a few drinks. i'm not sure what happened one minute she was smiling the next she had a face like thunder.
mumma🤍 -> not to worry poppy, i'll talk to her in the morning. thank you for looking out for her.
"lovie?" alessia looked in shock horror at the state you were in, slightly embarrassed as she looked up thanking poppy as well as flashing a thankful smile towards her mum who was behind the driving wheel and had so kindly brought you home.
“sorry she’s in such a state, i did try and get her to slow down after the first one but she just ignored me” poppy apologised with a wince as alessia nodded with a sigh, your stubborn side which you definitely didn’t get from the blonde.
“it’s okay, i’m not angry. just a little disappointed but thank you for looking out for y/n, your a good friend to her — even when sometimes she may not deserve it” alessia slightly laughed at the little bit knowing poppy had put up with you since your first day of school and knowing you can be difficult at time especially with the strong head on your shoulder.
alessia said her goodbyes to poppy again waving to her mum as she drove down the street, turning to you with a sigh as you leant against your mum and the doorframe.
“c’mon then lovie” alessia began to move you away from the doorway as you held a dopey smile on your face. rambling out some words that alessia was convinced were not english.
"hey, only my mum calls me that-" you slurred out quietly as your eyes began to shut. a big sigh coming from alessia as she called out to ella who was in the living room.
"woah- where has she been?" ella winced as she took in your form as you were slumped up against your mum, alessia shrugging.
"i need to get her to eat something, and a bottle of water" alessia told ella as she nodded in agreement helping alessia get you into the living room at least.
you were carried to the living room by both your mum and ella, the two placing you down as you sighed contently at the feeling of the soft lounge. your body drifting in and out of sleep as each minute passed.
“i’m just gonna make her a sandwich” alessia whispered as ella nodded, staying sat beside you. “yeah i’ll stay here”
a small giggle came from you out of nowhere as you head drooped to one side of the head rest on the couch, “you sound just like my auntie ella, she has a proper thick manchester accent”
ella just sat and listened as you continued your slurred ramble, a smile creeping in her face as you spoke about ella and your mum. clearly not being with it enough to know that’s currently who you’re in a room with.
“she’s pretty cool, she was an awesome footballer too. just like my mum” a sad lopsided smile crept on your face as tears slightly built in your eyes. an eyebrow rising at your words from the brunette sat beside you as she hummed.
“my mum was an amazing footballer, my dream is always to be even half the player she is-“ a sniffle came from you as if you were about to start crying, ella patting your shoulder.
“i’m sure you’ll carry on her legacy” ella smiled at you, but as you were squinting to see if you could recognise who your were talking to but you couldn’t really make out the facial features. it all just being blurs of colours.
a yelp came from you as you screwed your eyes shut, startling ella a little as she looked at you with panic in her eyes, “oh my god, my mum gonna be so annoyed at me” you covered your face with your hands.
at this point alessia was coming back into the room, a bottle of ice cold water and your favourite type of sandwich made in her hand. the blonde about to open her mouth to say something but ella waved at her not to say anything to allow you the chance to carry on your drunken confession.
“but, the drinks just looked too good and it helped i forgot about what she said” you mumbled as you carried on talking with your hands over your face. ella and alessia looking at each other with blank faces trying to figure out what you were saying.
“i felt free like i was floating on fluffy clouds- oh is this sandwich for me?” you spotted the food on the plate on the coffee table out the corner of you eye.
“yeah eat it lovie, and there’s some water there too” alessia pointed as you hummed tucking into the sandwich still not aware of your surroundings and the fact you were in your living room at home.
alessia tapping ella on the shoulder and letting the brunette know that she was gonna get your bed ready and get you some pjs out so you could change. ella just waved the blonde off letting her do her thing of what she needed to do.
after around an hour later and the two finally got you to bed, after a few little mishaps like you tripping up the stairs and you falling asleep with your toothbrush in your mouth as you brushed your teeth in the bathroom.
but finally the two had gotten you into bed and safely asleep, alessia’s head spinning. why had you gone out and got basically black out drunk, the night before an important match. there had to be a reason. this wasn’t like you.
"oh god" alessia let out a shaky breath as she lent over the kitchen counter her head in her hands. mum guilt washing over her.
"she'll be fine less, she's a teenager. this is what they do. we were once like that too-" ella tried to help comfort her best friend with a light hearted joke towards their past of them being teenagers. it not being too dissimilar.
"yeah but tooney, this isn't the first time this has happened." alessia sighed looking up at the brunette who was stood in the dimly lit kitchen.
"this is becoming every weekend and i thought maybe when she came back late smelling of alcohol the first time, it would be the last but it's happened nearly every single time since" alessia explained as tooney's face turned into a small frown, she didn't realise that wasn't the first time.
"i thought i could trust her, ella" alessia whispered, ella knew the blonde was being serious that's the only time alessia would call her best friend by her proper name. a worried look was etched across the blondes face.
"you can less, tiny is a smart kid" ella nodded pulling the blonde into a side hug as alessia whispered, "i hope your right."
the next morning had rolled around and you woke up with the biggest head ache and no recollection of the events that happened last night, the last thing you remember was your conversation with poppy.
anything else after that, you had no idea. hell you didn't even know how you got home or when-
not even realising you were home until your eyes scanned around the dimly lit room, noticing the framed photos you had from football. some with your teammates, your family, and some with some of the lionesses past and present you'd met.
a tight knot building in your stomach as you looked at it a little longer, the words lingering in your head of what your friend had said to you.
huffing you didn't want to look at the photos any longer, you pushed your covers off you and walking your way down the stairs. the bright light of the sun shining through the windows hurting your eyes as you made you way into the kitchen not even realising your mum was stood waiting for her coffee machine to finish.
"morning- why are you not ready? we have to leave in fifteen minutes?" your mum asked as you turned grabbed a glass from the shelf filling it with ice cold water.
you ignored the question your mum was sending your way instead reaching out for the cupboard in which you knew your mum kept the medicine — rummaging through the box until you found something that would help sootheyour seething headache.
"lovie? i'm asking you a question" you mum pushed but still was talking in a soft voice. you shrugged, "don't wanna go" you mumbled as you took the time to take the medicine before placing your glass in the sink.
your mum was taken back by your response, you never missed football. not matches. not training. hell you'd even beg your mum to let you play even if your leg was hanging off. football is everything to you — or so she thought.
"why?"
"not feeling too well-" you began but were cut off by your mum, "the one thing i asked you not to do was drink and you knew you had this match this morning which you know is important-"
alessia started her rant but you just sighed and walked out the room heading towards your room. your mum realising you weren't in the room any longer, following your tracks towards your room. "y/n, i'm not finished talking-"
"yeah well i am, just leave me be mum! i don't want to go to the stupid football match okay, i quit!" you snapped as you yelled from your bedroom door slamming it shut. alessia stopping in her track, your words hitting her right in the chest, as the slam of the door echoed in the hallway.
stupid football? that wasn't the lovie alessia knew.
the lovie, alessia knew was football crazy and since she could walk had a ball at her feet.
the lovie alessia knew would spend hours in the garden trying to perfect a skill even if it was pouring of rain.
the lovie alessia knew would have to be practically dragged of the pitch and away from the football after training otherwise you would spent all night there.
the lovie alessia knew, loved football and wanted to play for her club and country.
alessia didn't understand what had happened, yeah your behaviour at the minute hadn't exactly been perfect and the blonde would be lying if she said she wasn't loosing a little bit trust in you with each time you came home late.
your actions speaking louder that maybe what you were doing in your spare time wasn’t as innocent as you tried to perceive it as. your show last night was the real eye opener for alessia.
she slumped down on the stairs as she let out a breathe. she didn't know what to do or even say.
the blonde was brought out of her thoughts at the sound of knocks echoing through the hallway. alessia pushed her self up from her seat on the stairs making her way to the door and pulling it open.
"ay we ready! where's our superstar?" ella called out as she walked in not catching the gloomy look on her best friends face at the side of the door as leah walked in behind her just as excited as the two began to recite your chant.
the two were dressed head to two in the colours you wore, ella minus the arsenal jersey. but leah was decked to the nines in gunner merch.
ella and leah made it to nearly every one of your matches, ella of course didn't make it to as many as she lived in manchester but any matches you had close to there or any time ella was in london she made sure to be at your matches with alessia.
leah on the other hand would be lucky if she missed one match a season, she always made sure to be there. leah had a close connection with the academy it being one she spent the first years of her footballing years too.
"oh- what's happened?" ella smile dropping as she looked at the sad look on alessia's face, leahs head turning around as her smile too dropped. the vibe going completely flat.
"it's lovie, she's quit football-" alessia said quitely, so quiet it almost came out as a whisper, as she walked past the two going to sit on the couch in the living room, ella and leah following alessia like lost puppy's as they came to terms which what the blonde had just said.
"what do you mean she's quit?" leah asked sitting down and taking the arsenal scarf from around her neck, it being quite warm in the room. alessia just shrugged she didnt know what the cause of you sudden outburst was, but what she did know is that something had caused it or rather someone.
ella coming and sitting next to the alessia as a sigh came from her, "she can't just quit- tiny is the future of football.."
"well she came down, i asked why she wasn't ready and she said she wasn't feeling well and then i followed her cause she walked away while i was still talking and then bascially yelled in my face that football is stupid" alessia sighed putting her head in her hands, ella running a soothing hand up and down the blonde's back.
"stupid football, that does not sound like tiny at all" leah was in disbelief, the girl she was hearing about was not the tiny that they knew and loved.
"tell me about it"
"have you tried asking her about it" ella suggested, it seeming like a silly thing to ask as she thought that alessia would ahve probably done that first but it was always worth a suggestion.
a shake of the head came from alessia, "no thought i'd give her a chance to cool off first"
"good thinking less, but it's worth a try even though she may not say anything. try and see if you can get something out of her" leah gave a sad smile to alessia who nodded taking the much needed advice on board.
the three sat a little more trying to get to the bottom of why you were acting a little weird and why you suddenly after bascially dedicating your entire life to football wanted to quit.
"but you know tiny too, more than we do, thats she capable of changing her mind more times than the weather" ella jokes as both leah and alessia let out a small chuckle. she wasnt wrong, you were known to be very indecisive.
"well we'll be off, let us know what happens and if you need anything" leah slaps her hands off her knees standing up, ella nodding and agreeing with leahs words.
"i will, i'll keep you both updated" alessia gave a half smile as she held the front door open, for the two to leave as they left still dressed in their football attire. leaving a little less excited then when they arrived.
alessia waving the two goodbye as leah drove away, the blonde shutting her door as she lingered in the hallway glancing up the stairway. planning her next movements.
make you some lunch as you hadn't eaten yet and the blonde knew better than to try and talk to you empty handed.
"just me.." your mum whispered as she lightly knocked on your door, "i brought your favourite- cheese toastie" as she put the plate on your bedside table not a mutter of a word from you as your mum walked through your room.
you just lay still in your bed, blankets wrapped around you as you held your little esme the elephant. yes the same one you'd had since you were little, it all worn with there being a little tear in the ear.
your mum sighed as she sat at the end of your bed, "how you feeling now?" she cooed as you still remained in the same place staring at the wall, the only thing to be heard was your light breathing.
alessia felt as though she'd hit a brick wall. her brain trying to think of things that may get you to talk to her but ultimitately she knew it would be a long shot. you and your stubborness. something you defiently didn't get from the blonde.
"you can't ignore me forever, lovie" alessia joked lightly hoping it may help to lighten the tense atmosphere inside your room, you glancing over at your mum perched on the end of your bed.
"i can try" you mumbled if the room hadn't of been as silent as it was alessia would have most definetly missed what you said.
a hum coming from your mum, "you can try but then who knows that you don't like blueberries cause you don't like the way they feel in your mouth, or that when your anxious about something that you bite the inside of your lip, or that you like having ketchup with almost ever meal-" alessia trailed off as you perked one eyebrow up turning onto your back.
"i'm sure i'd find a way to survive" you mumbled as your mum nodded her head slowly, humming a little at your words.
"what's happened lovie? why do you all of a sudden want to quit football" your mum asked as you moved your head slightly to the side, you knew this was coming. you just didn't think you were ready to admit out loud why you wanted to stop playing.
"just do, 'm not gonna make it anywhere anyway.." you whispered your throat going slightly tight as the words left your lips. alessia felt her heart tighten a little at your confession.
"lovie, you don't seriously believe that do you?" alessia asked a little bit of seriousness in her tone of voice, a part of her thinking maybe these weren't your words, but rather someone elses.
"and what if i do-"
"has someone said something to you lovie?" your mum has this gut feeling in her stomach and her gut was rarely ever wrong, it was if it was her sixth sense. "like did something happen at the party you were at?" your mum continued to push for an answer as you lay still with you eyes facing away from your mum, worried that if you did look at her that the tears would start to fall.
you stayed silent for a moment, contemplating your next move. before slowly moving your eyes to make contact with your mums as you bit your lip. another few seconds passed before you nodded your head to your mum previous question.
"oh lovie" your mum pouted as she crumbled moving from her seat at the end of the bed to quickly engulf you in a much needed hug as the tears began to fall. your mum comforting you as you cried in her arms letting it all out as you began to relay the events of what happened at the party, what emilia said to you and then how you just began to drink to get rid of the pain.
alessia's heart breaking for you, being told such harsh words from someone you considered to be a very close friend. it wasn't fair and the world was a cruel place. your mum wishing she could wrap you up in bubble wrap and protect you from anything you came in front of.
"she doesn't deserve to have you as a friend and you don't need people like that in your life lovie. thats not what a true friend does-" your mum comforted you as a few stray sniffles came from you as you knew what your mum was telling you was right. emilia didn't deserve to call you her friend.
"and anyways she won't be saying that when your on the big stage, playing for your club and country!" your mum smiled softly as your furrowed your eyebrows. "you really think that'll happen-"
"of course! you could play rings around some players you come against" you stayed in your mums arms a little more as she continued to comfort you as she continued to build your confidence and ego back up that clearly had took some serious damage.
"you'll always be my favourite player, y/n russo." your mum smiled sweetly at you as she placed a kiss to your forehead. you knew the topic of your recent behaviour and how you spent your spare time would come up and alessia definitely knew she needed to have a chat with you about that but right now you needed love and comfort which is exactly what you got as you sunk into her warm and loving arms further.

bathroom lies, party truths
sukuna x reader, college au, best friend's brother troupe sukuna's a jerk at the start but he softens up, a little suggestive at the end ++ sukuna’s in his 4th year of college while you’re in your 2nd | masterlist
summary: yuji's throwing a party and you're just trying to survive the chaos when you end up at the wrong door— sukuna's room. your best friend's brother has always been off-limits, but tonight feels different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you stand outside the wrong door, hand poised to knock as the loud music from the living room booms in the background. you're pretty sure that this door doesn't lead to the bathroom— scratch that, you knew that it wasn't. but before you could bail, the door swings open.
"well this is unexpected." sukuna stands by the door dressed casually in a hoodie and sweats, his sharp eyes narrowing in recognition before a smirk tugs at his lips. "didn't think you were the type to get lost at a party. bathroom's next door, by the way."
you roll your eyes, heat rushing to your cheeks. "i know where the bathroom is. it's occupied. i'm just... waiting."
sukuna quirks an eyebrow, leaning against the doorframe. "waiting. outside my door. what, the hallway too boring for you?"
you shrug, trying to look nonchalant. "thought it'd be quieter in here. but if you're gonna be a jerk, i'll go wait somewhere else."
"relax," sukuna chuckles, stepping aside. "come on. i'll even let you stay, as long as you close the door. music's driving me insane." you slip inside, pulse quickening as you take in his room, chaos of the party muffling behind the closed door. his room is a stark contrast to the outside— simple but clean, with a stack of textbooks open on his desk. the sight throws you off.
"i didn't take you for the studying-during-a-party type," you say, eyeing the open engineering textbook.
sukuna shrugs, sinking back into his chair and runs a hand through his hair. "i'm not here for a party, kid. i've got finals next week."
the nickname stings, even though it shouldn't. he's been calling you that for years, despite the fact that you're not a kid anymore. "you know i'm in college now, right? you don't have to keep calling me that."
he smirks, glancing up at you. "old habits die hard."
you fold your arms, rolling your eyes at him. "yuji mentioned you were turning into a bit of a nerd these days."
now it's sukuna's turn to roll his eyes. "he would say that, that brat...how is he by the way? you're keeping an eye on him right? he's not getting too crazy?"
you smile. "he's fine. don't worry. i left him with megumi and nobara."
"good," he says, nodding. "still can't believe you idiots are in college now. feels like yesterday when the three of you climbed out of yuji's window in the middle of the night. bet that wasn't your influence."
your cheeks flush. "that was his idea, not mine!"
"sure, sure," he says, smirking. "you had your phase. but now you found the right path, right? being quite good in college i hear."
"how'd you know?" you asked, eyebrows raised.
"yuji talks about you and the others all the time." sukuna's grin softens ever so slightly, gaze lingering on you.
the room feels smaller suddenly, the air heavier. you clear your throat, trying to steer the conversation. "what about you? how's the single life treating you?"
sukuna leans back in his chair, exhaling. "yuji told you about that, huh. we broke up like six months ago or something. it's not bad, i've gotten over it."
you nod and silence settles between you, charged with something unspoken. when sukuna finally breaks it, his voice is just a little softer. "so, what do you think of me?"
the question catches you off guard "what?"
“you heard me,” he says, a teasing lilt in his voice. “you tell me what you think of me, and maybe i’ll return the favour.”
you hesitate, heart pounding. finally, you decide to go for it. "fine. i think you're a jerk sometimes, smart, funny and—" you pause, looking away. "pretty good looking."
sukuna smirks, "wow, you think i'm handsome?" then he laughs, the sound warm and genuine.
"shut up..." you mutter, crossing your arms.
"no, no. i appreciate the honesty," he says. "i always that you were cute, funny, and smart. you got the three attributes down, and a little bit of a brat probably."
you look away sheepishly, unable to continue meeting his gaze. sukuna continues. "when you were in the first year of college i did think of asking you out but you know, you're yuji's friend and i had my girlfriend during that time."
you breath hitches hearing that confession. "you're not just saying that, are you?"
"not at all," he murmurs, voice low as he stands and moves closer to you.
now, you look back at him. taking a breath, you ask, your voice slowly becoming softer. "what exactly are we going to do with this information now..."
before you can second-guess yourself and overthink, his hand brushes yours, tentative but firm. you can no longer hear the music outside sukuna's door. it slowly fades away completely as you focus and he leans in, his lips barely brushing yours. “yeah, i was right. definitely cute, i’ll give ya that.”
when he pulls back, he glances toward the door behind. he reaches past you, the click of the lock loud in the quiet room. when he turns back, his expression is all mischief, "don't need any drunk idiots walking in on us."

The darkness blankets the sky, the neighborhood quiet with muffled noises of a party some walks away. Having just parked his car in the garage he get's out taking a bag of take outs for dinner.
Walking up to the porch of his and your door, he unlocks the door with ease. Keys clanking as he fiddles with them with a tired sigh. Work is well work as usual. It's not the mundane challenges of work he's sighing for. Likely it's the increasing monotonous routine he goes with it at the office everyday. It doesn't help that his relationship with you is reflecting how gray and dull his everyday work is.
Opening the door, the living space welcomes him. Not you, you're not at home yet. You're at the office, either working overtime or being asked out by your friends for a night out. He drops his briefcase on the sofa, as he takes off his coat. Hanging it on the coat rack beside the now locked door.
Now loosening up his tie, he picks up his phone to check the time, it's nearly 10 pm. "It's Friday...then it must be her hanging out with co-workers tonight." He says to particularly no one but himself. His gaze frowning at the screen of his phone. "Or her damn boss," He grumbles.
And that's the problem. Your relationship with him either progressively turns to dull and gray because of his increasing workload, or if it's dull and gray because of your increasing workload and constant late night parties.
But Levi understands you better.
The parties were to distract you from this monotonous routine of your evenings with him. Can be a bad or good habit depending on the act you entertain yourself with. And Levi knew better than to push you to ask when you're in this phase of taking a sort of break.
Or it could also be he's afraid that he'd make things worse and drive a deeper wedge between you two. It's likely the latter.
And that's precisely why he discreetly asked two of his female coworkers for advice. Hange and Petra. Hange had advised to open a table with you for discussion. Basically sit and talk. Meanwhile Petra, advised you to go an extra mile to know what a woman wants. For starters, read a book.
A romance book for example. And she had just the perfect recommendation in hand.
Levi sets the reheated take outs, then preparing a plate of rice—his favorite, on the table. He then walks to the sofa, picking up his briefcase to find a certain book from Petra this morning.
"Huh," Levi could not even read the title, his eyes scanning the book. "Damn, sappy shit." He flips the cover to read a random chapter and sees a specific sentence that nearly killed him from cringe.
But if it would help him get tips on how to reignite this spark between you two, he'd grit his teeth through the cringe. Pick out the good ones, and yeet out the overly cringe ones.
With the book in his hand, he walks back to the dinner table, sitting down to a meal while he takes a spoonful of a bite or two.
After eating, he continued to wait for you at the living room, sitting with his arm resting on the armrest, his other hand propping up the book he's reading close to his steel blue gaze.
The hours tick and you're not home still. It's already 1 am, and you're still not at home. It was then that he finally decides to check his phone. And oh, he finds a message from you in his notifications.
Clicking it, it reads,
"I'm sorry love, I'll be home in a few. Just a 'lil late."
Sent at 11:45 pm. He sighs, texting back,
"Do you need me to fetch you?"
He sends it and returned to reading the book.
He'd hate to admit it, but it became a bit more tolerable for his eyes to read the book after a few chapters. He's mind whirrs at the kind of man most women would want.
Crossing out the unrealistic standards, there are things he might find worthy of taking note. Like getting a little more creative with giving you flowers, or how he should better care for you for when you have period cramps. Basically just be there for you more. Levi had thought he was doing just fine, doing everything to be there for you. But now basing some things he may have missed in comparison to a 'what would most women want,' is that he may have appeared a little too distant or cold. Especially when he's at work.
He sighs, deciding to find a way to strike a proper balance between work and his personal life.
You're an amazing woman, flawed may be, but you're the woman he loves to see everyday.
Sighing, he flips open the book again to continue reading, "Hoh, what do we have here?" He smirks, immersed in his reading although he'd deny that he is.
The pacing of the story just got to a sensual, lightly steamy part. And he couldn't help but think, 'Is this too what most women want?' He ponders, 'I guess not too different to what most men wants, except this has more steps in this. More foreplay it seems,'
His eyes scan the forbidden text, his mind wandering if it could be him and you. Or what could be your reaction had you be reading this instead? Levi imagined you reading this with a flustered expression made him think of other forbidden things he'd do to you.
Flipping the page, he continues, still sure he's reading to get insights on how he should treat you than for the story of the text he's reading.
Then as if he was stricken with lightning, he hears a warm breathy whisper right behind his ear, "Oh? What you reading?" Your playful tone snaps him from his deep thoughts.
"Oh, you're here," His face momentarily stiffens, lips opening slightly, before returning to his nonchalant expression. He then adds, "And you're late," His gaze now frowning. "Sorry," You scratch the back of your head, "We just finished overtime and my boss thought to bring all of us to a short late snack at a cafe." You explain, studying his narrowed blue-gray gaze, before your eyes landing on a specific book. "Didn't know you'd be reading this genre though, Levi." You reply in a teasing manner. His hands swiftly, and casually moving the book away from your view as a response, "Your boss?" One of his eyebrow arches, his expression remaining nonchalant yet the undercurrent of his threatening tone betrays the calm exterior he maintains. "That stupid blond bastard again?" He grumbles, now standing up to meet your eyes, the book still in his hand.
'Stupid, and bastard. Well that's rare,' You smile, Levi adding two insults in a single sentence for the same person speaks just how much this is pissing him off.
"Listen, we need to talk," He then takes your bag placing it on the table before holding your shoulders down to have you sit.
"Levi," You say with a flat and tired expression, "There's nothing to talk about—" Before he cuts you off, "Oh yea we do. Don't think I didn't noticed how you're avoiding me the whole month, and how I see you're spending more time with your work friends and that stupid boss of yours. Again."
Then it's your turn to cut him off, "Levi, you're not jealous are you?" "Fucking no." He says flatly, he then combs his hair back before talking again, "Look, it's just. We're both busy recently and I'm sorry I couldn't be there to listen how your day went or that I couldn't pay attention to you more. But that doesn't mean you should entertain yourself with people outside the problem of our relationship." He then mutters the last bit, "Especially not with your boss." And that's where you stop him, "What are you talking about? Are you saying I'm upset at you because you're busy?" You scoff.
"Yes?" His expression, suddenly forming a puzzled look. His face became even more puzzled after hears you laugh, "And that's why you're reading that book hm?" You tease him, "What-fuck, no." He then places the book behind him. You already know that it's a romance book, and with the few pages you saw of it earlier, it has some smut scenes.
"C'mon, let's see what's it about." You quip, your hands reaching for it, but he's faster and was able to keep it off your grasp.
"Forget it, so you're saying that you're not upset at all?" He asks you, his narrow, blue-gray irises gazing deep into yours. "No, I'm not," You reply with a smile, "Why would you think that?" He then looks down on the table, his gaze falling to your bag on the coffee table as he searches his own mind. "I don't know...maybe it's just because I miss you." He sighs, "Yeah, maybe it's that. You think it's because of that?" He replies more like a sentence of him just rambling and asking the truth he already knows.
You gave a light chuckle before pulling him to a hug. "Gosh you're so adorable," You mumble to his neck, appreciative of his efforts and his feelings. He momentarily stiffens, before accepting the embrace. "Shut it," He rejects the compliment, but you feel his heart beating warm and fast against yours, his hands wrapping around you in return. Embracing you back.
"I miss you too," You whisper to him and you just feel him nudge his face to your own neck. As if hiding his face from view by deepening the embrace.
You pull away, and you give him a light kiss on his lips, his lips lingering for a moment before reluctantly pulling away. Maybe it's because his heart was beating too fast, that you also feel it pump blood to the lower half of his body. A something else entirely beating against your warm body as he tells you in a low gruff voice. His breath hot against your lips, his arms pulling you closer in place. "More,"

Tokyo Ghoul Characters as MCR songs
This is for shits and giggles, please don't take this too serious. I originally wanted to cover Every album and compare Every song to a character from each album and then realized nobody cares that deeply so here is a brief version!
Kaneki - Famous Last Words - "Can you see my eyes are shining bright? 'Cause I'm out here on the other side of a jet black hotel mirror and I'm so weak. Is it hard understanding, I'm incomplete?"
Haise - AMBULANCE - "And we will wear our masks again, out after dark, 'cause we are up for everything it takes, and we are not the same."
Ginshi - Cancer - "But counting down the days to go, it just ain't living, and I just hope you know that if you say goodbye today, I'd ask you to be true because the hardest part of this is leaving you."
Urie - Sleep - "Don't you breathe for me, undeserving of your sympathy, 'cause there ain't no way I'm sorry for what I did."
Mutsuki - DESTROYA - "With duct-tape scars on my honey, they don't like who you are. You won't like where we'll go, brother, protect me now."
Saiko - The Kids from Yesterday - "All the cameras watch the accidents and stars you hate. They only care if you can bleed. Does the television make you feel the pills you ate or every person that you need to be?"
Arima - The Foundations of Decay - "Let the flesh submit itself to gravity. Let our bodies lay, mark our hearts with shame. Let our blood in vain, you find God in pain. Now if your convictions were a passing phase, may your ashes feed the river in the morning rays. And as the vermin crawls we lay in the foundations of decay."
Hide - The World is Ugly - "These are their hearts, but their hearts don't beat like ours. They burn 'cause they are all afraid. But mine beats twice as hard, 'cause the world is ugly, but you're beautiful to me."
Touka - The Ghost of You - "At the top of my lungs in my arms she dies, she dies. At the end of the world, or the last thing I see, you are never coming home."
Hinami - Cemetary Drive - "If you want, I'll keep on crying. Did you get what you deserve? Is this what you always want me for? I miss you."
Ayato - Thank You for the Venom - "I keep a gun in the book you gave me. Hallelujah, lock and load. Black is the kiss, the touch of the serpent son."
Nishiki - The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You - "Gaze into her killing jar, I'd sometimes stare for hours. She even poked the holes so I can breathe."
Eto - Give 'Em Hell Kid - "Some might say we are made from the sharpest things you say. We are young and we don't care. Your dreams and your hopeless hair. We never wanted it to be this way for all our lives."
Naki - The Only Hope for Me is You - "Because you're the only hope for me. And if we can't find where we belong, we'll have to make it on our own."
Takizawa - House of Wolves - "Tell me I'm an angel, take this to my grave. Tell me I'm a bad man, kick me like a stray."
Tsukiyama - Romance - There's no lyrics but the vibe is *chefs kiss*
Uta - I Never Told You What I Do for a Living - "It ain't the money and it sure as hell ain't just for the fame, it's for the bodies I claim and lose. Only go so far 'til you bury them so deep and down we go, down."
Renji - Headfirst for Halos - "And as the fragments of my skull begin to fall, fall on your tongue like pixie dust, just think happy thoughts, and we'll fly home."
Juuzou - Mama - "Well, mother, what the war did to my legs and to my tongue. You should've raised a baby girl, I should've been a better son."
Rize - Our Lady of Sorrows - "We could be perfect lovers one last night, and die like star-crossed lovers when we fight."
Akira - Skylines and Turnstiles - "We walk in single file. We light our rails and punch our time. Ride escalators colder than a cell. The broken city-sky, like butane on my skin, stolen from my eyes."
Amon - Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back - "For all of us who've seen the light, salute the dead and lead the fight. Who gives a damn if we lose the war? Let the walls come down, let the engines roar."
Feel free to add your own interpretations but these are songs that I think relate to the characters! :)

You winced as you heard something break from your living room. Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to bring home the stray hybrid you found at the junkyard.
You had gone there with the intention of finding a carburetor for the Ford Bronco you were working on but ended up scaring Wooyoung. He was an image, certainly, in all black, his tail puffed up, and his eyes flashing from your flashlight. The heterochromia, where one of his eyes was blue and the other was brown, was the first thing you noticed about him. Next was his collar.
"I'm not a stray," Wooyoung insisted when you offered him a hot meal and a place to stay. "I like the junkyard."
"Okay, well, come back with me and then I can drive you back when you want to…" You paused to learn his name.
"Wooyoung," he said, staring at your car, "and good because my owner will be worried."
It had been a few days since then and Wooyoung had broken almost anything that could be broken in your house. The look on his face when you rushed into your living room was the same each time: mischievous, calculating and curious. It was like he was waiting for you to break and yell at him.
You sighed at the jade green bowl that was lying as shards in front of your window now. "Guess I'll get the broom."
"I don't get you," Wooyoung followed you to the kitchen. "Why don't you get angry when I break things?"
"Are you sure you really want the answer to that question?" You met his gaze.
Wooyoung nervously tugged at his collar. "I asked, didn't I?"
"You're trying to provoke me, Wooyoung, I know that. You're trying to make me seem like all those other people that called you a dirty hybrid or shouted at you to keep away in case you had rabies or something stupid that humans believe hybrids have. I know you're alone. I know you wear that collar so people don't report you as a stray and you have to go to those horrible walled communities. So you keep breaking things… if that means you get to stay here and stay safe."
Wooyoung looked shocked before scratching the back of his head bashfully. "That obvious, huh?"
You grabbed the broom and walked by him. "No, it's not that obvious. But I can see the pain in your eyes when you wait for me to yell at you."
"I still want you to yell at me," Wooyoung pouted, his ears pushed back.
You laughed under your breath. You swept up the broken glass. "That makes no sense."
You tried to pick up one of the larger pieces and yelped when you managed to cut yourself, despite being painstakingly careful. You went to suck on the wound when Wooyoung crouched in front of you and popped your finger in his mouth instead.
"Wooyoung," You said his name carefully even though your heart was beating out of your chest.
He grinned at you, his kitty cat fangs peeking cutely. "Wanna make me feel better?"
You snatched your hand away from him and quickly cleaned up the mess. You didn't say a word, moving to the bathroom for a band-aid.
"You're no fun," He muttered.
"Wooyoung!" You finally shouted, "I'm not going to take advantage of this situation. You're not something to just be used!"
Wooyoung grinned again, leaning against the doorframe. "Are you getting angry on my behalf?"
You hooked a finger under his collar and pulled him close to your face. "Why do you insist on pushing these boundaries?"
Wooyoung’s pupils were blown. Even just the tiny snap of anger had him ready for something exciting. "Because I like it."
You scoffed, unable to hold a laugh in with that kind of answer. It was just that simple for Wooyoung; he poked because he enjoyed the reaction. "You're such a bad kitty," You growled against his lips.
A small, eager whine left Wooyoung’s lips, his tongue coming out to prod at his freckle there and then it disappeared back into his mouth. "Mommy?"
You pushed him away with a firm hand on his chest and Wooyoung cackled. "Oh come on, you were practically begging me to say that!"
"I'm going to work on the truck outside, you can do whatever, Wooyoung," You called out as you headed to the attached garage.
"No!" Wooyoung lamented behind you, "It smells gross in there."
Of course, not even ten minutes after you got under the hood of the truck you were working on, Wooyoung was out there with you. He was far too curious and enjoyed a spot in the shade, under a shelf, where he seemed to feel safe but was close enough where he could chatter the day away to you.
You were fine and focused on your work until Wooyoung said, "You could always grip the base of my tail and peg me, that might be fun later."
Your head hit the hood of the truck and you grumbled, rubbing the sore spot. "Wooyoung," You said his name in warning.
Wooyoung snickered, swaying from his new spot on a high stool. "Finally! You've been focusing on that truck for far too long! Play with me! I'm bored!"
You strode to the door back to the house and yanked it open. "Get in the house! I'm making us lunch."
Wooyoung had a face that portrayed he wasn't impressed with that answer. "Fine."
You were about to open the fridge when Wooyoung had enough of being coy. He grabbed your hands and halted you. "Play with me," He whined.
"Wooyoung!" You scolded him, "What has gotten into you! This is worse than when you were breaking things."
"Want you to treat me roughly. Want you to push me against this fridge and bruise my lips when you kiss me. I want you to leash me and hold me to your pussy while I eat you out. I want you to make my dick weep but I can't touch myself because I've been a bad kitty." The pout that graced Wooyoung’s lips now was almost sinful.
"Is that what this is about?!" You demanded incredulously, "You liked that I called you a bad kitty?"
Wooyoung dominated your space, until your back was digging into the kitchen counter. He put a hand on each side of your ribs and leaned in, with a smug look on his face. "I trust you. You care about my well being. That means you're safe to play with. Play with me!" Wooyoung licked your bottom lip and then kissed the corner of your mouth. "Let me into your heart."
You threaded your hair through his locks. "Woo," You said his name, furrowing your eyebrows.
"Play with your bad kitty," Wooyoung whispered into your ear.
You groaned and that was the final straw. You slanted your lips over Wooyoung’s and his tongue came out to play with yours immediately. He giggled and then his hands moved to your ass, squeezing and spreading your cheeks like he was kneading bread. "You're so squishable."
"You are getting on my nerves," You said firmly.
"Is that a roundabout way of saying you want me on your clit, because you can just ask," Wooyoung taunted you.
You reached around Wooyoung and grabbed the base of his tail. He almost melted into your body at that moment, head moving to your shoulder and his weight pushed against you. "Please," He whined.
"Stop being a little shit, Wooyoung, and maybe I might give you what you want." You were surprised Wooyoung had actually given you the key to his destruction so easily. Or maybe he didn't think you would actually do it. Whatever the reasons, it gave you an idea.
"You bend over the kitchen table, and stay there!" You ordered him before dashing to your bedroom for some much needed lube.
When you came back, Wooyoung's upper body was against the table, cheek pressed to the wood and turned your way. His tail was making squiggly lines in the air, like he was waiting patiently for you to come back and ruin him. He was so tempting, just looking like candy to be plucked from a dish.
"What are you going to do to me?" Wooyoung wondered out loud. "Spank me? I like a good spanking."
"No, I think you had the right idea earlier," You said as you came up behind him.
"What's that?" Wooyoung asked lazily.
Instead of answering him, you pulled his pants down, not surprised at all to see he wasn't wearing any underwear. He had complained loudly that he didn't much like his tail being hindered any more than it had to. You appreciated his ass and thighs. Wooyoung gently flexed his muscles as you paid attention to them but also spread his legs to ease up the tension against his balls that were tight to his body now.
"I don't have a strap on but I can't certainly fuck your sweet ass with my fingers, my bad kitty," You said in a sing-song voice. You spilled the lube on your fingers, spreading it generously.
Wooyoung breathed in deeply, almost gasping in excitement. "Really? You'll really do that for me? I've never--" He moaned loudly as your fingers touched his puckered hole. You didn't penetrate him, simply you played with the nerves on the outside and Wooyoung sounded like he was loving every moment of it.
"Does that feel good, Wooyoung?" You checked in with him even though everything he was doing indicated he was having a great time.
"Please," He whined, his voice going a bit deep with lust, "Fuck me with your fingers. I want it."
"You want to be stuffed, hmmm?" You hummed to him. You teased him with one fingertip poking at his hole but not completely filling him.
Wooyoung moved his ass back towards you, hissing. "Please! Please."
"Slow and steady wins the race." You leaned over his back and slowly sunk a finger into Wooyoung. He moaned even louder and then with your chest to his back, he began to purr deep in his chest.
"Feels so good," Wooyoung whined, "feels so good to be stuffed by your pretty fingers. Please grab my tail next, pretty pretty please."
You shifted, grabbing the base of his tail and Wooyoung let out another sinful moan. "Fuck yes," he cursed.
You pulled his tail slightly, making sure it was out of the way and then introduced another finger, slowly into Wooyoung. Wooyoung’s mouth was open and he was drooling at this point. He didn't even care about his throbbing dick pressed up against the hard surface of the table. He was just white noise and static as your two fingers fucked him.
"Such a good kitty for me now, aren't you Wooyoung? Once you get stuffed, you're just a purring pretty kitty. Such a good Wooyoung, taking my fingers so well."
"Mmmm, your fingers feel so good inside me," Wooyoung echoed. His ears were completely against his head and his eyes were closed. His purring only got louder. He loved the feeling of you warm against his back. He felt like he was being taken care of.
"You gonna come untouched for me, my pretty kitty?" You asked him, "You gonna come on my table and make a mess of yourself?"
Wooyoung nodded, licking his lips when he realized he was drooling. "I want that. I want to feel that. Show me what it's like. I'll be a good kitty for you. I'll be a mess for you."
"Such a good kitty," You praised him.
You began to quickly make a come hither motion inside of Wooyoung and his breath caught in the back of his throat as a loud whine. "Just like that, fuck that feels so good, wanna come, please, I wanna come."
Wooyoung’s ears were moving back and forth now, ass moving back to receive more from you. His cock was leaking a milky liquid and you knew he was ready to come. So you leaned upwards to his sensitive ears, pulled on his collar with just enough pressure against his windpipe and whispered, "Come for me, you bad kitty."
Wooyoung’s body went stiff as your words unlocked something inside of him. He came with a loud shout, gruff and high-strung. His hips moved, as if he wasn't sure if he should be stimulating his cock or fucking back into your fingers. "So good so good so good," he chanted, smiling in satisfaction.
You slowly pulled your fingers out of Wooyoung and he moaned at even that sensation. You moved to the sink to clean up your hands but had to stop to watch the vision in front of you. Wooyoung's dick was twitching, he was lazily licking his lips and his tail was moving in that happy squiggly line. It was the most at ease you had seen him since you brought him home a few days ago.
"Woo," You called out to him.
He didn't even bother to open his eyes. "Mmm?"
"Was your playtime good?" You couldn't help but laugh under your breath that he still got his way, even though it was on your terms.
He chuckled deeply, sounding mischievous again. "Yes, Mommy."
You rolled your eyes and washed your hands. "Good because you're going to need to clean up so we can have lunch on that table."
"Can you eat me on the table instead?" Wooyoung asked, still goading you.
You sighed. Some things would never change.

3rd of march. bulgaria is going to party with his friends. meanwhile, in the afterlife, bulgar and onoghur are talking.
bulgar: our son has his national holiday today, what are we going to get him?
onoghur: wait which one?
bulgar: omg how could u not know, it's about time for u to become more involved with their lives!
onoghur: yeah as if ur very engaged with their lives, ur starting to wonder what kind of gift to get him on the day of celebration instead of deciding, u know, days or weeks before!
bulgar: well at least I know when our son has his national holiday!
onoghur: yeah ok ur right u win this time. but still, u didn't tell me which son of ours celebrates on march the 3rd?
bulgar: the one on danube. it's his liberation day from ottoman oppression. what are we going to get him? got any ideas?
onoghur: well we can't get him anything from the afterlife cuz it'd just phase through him.
bulgar: yeah we'll go into the world of living, do u have any idea what we'll get him?
onoghur: why are u asking me, weren't u berating me for not being involved with him enough a moment ago? how could I know what to get him?
bulgar: oh right ur right. I can't think of anything right now so let's go into the world of living.
*they pass through something like a portal*
they arrive in some sort of a shopping center and attract people's attention with their arrival, medieval clothing and the fact that they're semi-transparent and glowing. most people think this is some sort of hologram/art installation initially so they whip out their phones and start recording, but then they realize something else is going on when onoghur and bulgar start walking around.
onoghur: damn bulgar look people are giving us weird looks :D u know what this means?
bulgar: we can scare them into giving us whatever we want for free! :D
onoghur: yes :D btw look at this embroidered shirt, maybe we could get him this
bulgar: nahh he already has like a shitton of embroidered shirts that he's embroidered himself. besides, let's get him something bigger! something that makes people respect and fear him!
onoghur: like a warhorse or a sword or a bow?
bulgar: nobody uses these things today. I'm thinking, let's get him an AR, or a tank :D with our ghost powers, we can do anything!
'or a new bugatti'
onoghur and bulgar turn around and see avar.
onoghur: avar wtf what are u doing here?
avar: well after my state crumbled and was taken over by ur son, I lived my final years in pliska and I was something like a father figure to him. I overheard u talking but before I could come and tell u anything, I saw u hop into that portal and I decided to follow u. I wanna get him a gift too :D
bulgar: well who cares about a bugatti! let's get him a tank, or a helicopter!
avar: if we steal one of these things, the army will be on our asses. they will find bulgaria, cause him problems and get the tank or the helicopter back. besides, if his bosses wanted him to have one of these things, they would give him one. also, he has access to all the tanks and shit in the bulgarian army, he's bulgaria after all! but the bugatti, that's something else. having such an expensive car says 'look at me, I have power, I can buy u and sell u, I can help u or destroy u, u'd better be on my good side, I can do stuff u can only dream about, I'm on a whole another level'. why do u think gold and silver and silk and all the other luxurious stuff was so important to me when I was alive?
onoghur: but wouldn't police get on our asses if we steal the bugatti?
avar: well... we'll intimidate people with our ghost powers so they don't call the police :D
*they steal a bugatti and intimidate the owner into not calling the police*
bulgar: ok so I have the most experience with the modern human world out of us three, I know how to drive a car. I'll be the driver.
avar: there are only two seats in the car and there's three of us.
onoghur: well avar I guess ur gonna have to go home or sit in my lap
avar: wait why?
onoghur: how else are we supposed to fit in that car? now if it was bulgar, there'd be no problem but I'm not sitting in some other dude's lap dammit
bulgar: bruhhh there's enough space one of u could fit in the middle, between the two seats
*they manage to somehow fit in the car*
*bulgar drives it to his son's place. there are several collisions, but it's ok, he's using his ghost powers so his car doesn't get damaged*
*they arrive in the evening, during the party. onoghur and avar leave while bulgar starts honking so his son hears the sound and comes out of the house*
bulgaria opens the front door and his jaw drops. romania, greece, serbia and turkey peek through the door and their mouths are open agape.
onoghur and avar: HAPPY LIBERATION DAY, BULGARIA!!! :DDDD
bulgar: *gets out of the car* son we got u the best car cuz u deserve it :D
meanwhile, the tv in bul's living room *loud as fuck* : GHOSTS STOLE A SPORTS CAR AND DROVE IT ALL THE WAY TO BOYANA RESIDENCE, CAUSING SEVERAL TRAFFIC INCIDENTS IN THE PROCESS. THEY WERE FILMED DISCUSSING THE ROBBERY THEY WERE ABOUT TO COMMIT IN PARADISE MALL EARLIER.
*police sirens are heard, they intensify, cops and teams of ghostbusters arrive*
america is one of the ghostbusters
america: I AINT AFRAID OF NO GHOST
what happened later is hard to describe with words. perhaps AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAILHJKFKLGUKGHLKJKKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUJJJJJJJJJKKKKKKKKKJHBVVVVVVVVVVVVVDDDDDDDDDDDHHSSPSOHSPSSJHHSHHHKRRFFFF is sufficient. but that's a story for another time. let's say that bul had to stay at someone else's place for a while and he didn't want to see his parents for even a longer time.

The In Between
It was a dark and stormy night, just kidding, but seriously. The storm just wasn't outside, it was in me. Insert feelings here, all of them, at the same time. The time from diagnosis to surgery is a journey. But not a cute one. I would compare this to Frodo climbing Mordor, everyday, from the bottom. Some days he gets further than others, but he always ends up back on his ass looking up at the big scary thing, intimidated, and scared to death. Not figuratively either...
There's a song by Phoebe Star, Lavendar Scars. It's hauntingly beautiful, and one of the lyrics is about the depths of despair. If I had a way of describing my mood during this time, this sums it up.
This is where my trauma comes into play...y'all still won't get the whole tea though. I'm not interested in destroying some of y'alls reality.
The problem for me is that my brain lacks specific chemicals to properly file away memories, this means I have an unrealistic view of situations at times. Knowing I cannot trust my thoughts at all times has been a struggle on it's own. I'm incredibly smart, not to brag, but objectively, so I compensated and created a safety net of sorts. It tells me when I'm safe and keeps me from doing certain things it thinks will be harmful. Unfortunately, the trauma I have experienced came from the hands of people. People I trusted. So how do you learn to trust strangers charged with making sure you don't die?
You give up.
I don't give up. I have been placed in a car and told to drive across the country with my kid and 3 suitcases, and I still fought. Because at the time I thought it was the right thing to do. But I didn't have a choice and was forced to start over. Again. I did it though, and did it well. I could give it all up everyday for the rest of my life and never feel an ounce of regret. Having nothing allowed me to see how much I really have. And it was so much more than just love.
Sorry, I like talking about my story, it made me. I really didn't start living until we came to Dallas. This was the story I was writing, for me and by me. I stepped into my authenticity and was truly working on just being happy right now.
Back on track- I practice mindfulness daily. For those of you lucky enough to know Luke you will remember his manic phase when he was following Ram Dass's teachings. I picked this up during that period and promptly tossed everything else. However, there is something there. Being present in the here and now and remembering to breathe sounds so simple, but it is quite possibly the hardest thing I've ever done. Anytime someone is asking for tips and tricks to relax I recommend looking up Mooji on YouTube. His guided meditations, along with his buttery voice touches the most wounded parts of me. Even if it is for a second. Seriously, go look him up, I'll wait.
I've had those gems in my pocket for years, but when I needed them, when I was drowning in my thoughts and tears, I had nothing. Nothing anyone said helped, I couldn't nurse brain this one away. One morning, I say morning but it was 2 am, I was up watching Big Bang (I'll fight you, this show is great) and was laughing. In that moment, I gave up. Surrendered if you will, but to myself. I let go of the reigns and CHOSE to trust the team I was given. Now all I had to do was just show up, and wake up.
I hadn't laughed in weeks. Everyday was the same, wake up, am I crying, yes, stay home. Not crying try to go to work. If I wasn't trying to keep my job I was at another appointment. Labs, MRI's, CT's, Bone Scans, Radiation Oncologist, Medical Oncologist, Breast Specialist, SO MANY APPOINTMENTS.
It was during this period that I learned my staging and prognosis. My breast specialist is the tiniest woman with the most commanding presence. She walked into the room directly to me, took my hands and said, and I quote: " Hey there survivor, this is small and curable, no big deal." What an odd thing to say first, but she's awesome and I'm the worst with words, so what do I know? She told us I was stage 1a, would need surgery and possibly radiation. We had a few good days after this. Things suddenly felt doable.
Then my imaging results came back.
Another break check moment. Bitchhhhhh that boob dude doubled in size in less than 2 weeks, spit out 2 other smaller confirmed carcinomas and grew a nest of calcifications around the OG. It was insulating itself. This changed my diagnosis and treatment plan drastically. I have cancer, cancer.
Luckily, I'm a pro at having the rug pulled out from under me by now. However, I never notice that's what is happening until after all the snot and tears.
My poor boy. He wasn't lasting 10 minutes at school without worrying and having a full blown panic attack. Everyday. He couldn't be away from me. Luke found a hidden superpower to pick up all of our pieces and just hold them. He held them until we were ready to put them back together, as a family.
Here comes the masking, fake smiles, and false reasurrance. Ugh, that feels so fake. But it was neccessary. My boy needed hope, and I didn't have any to offer him. So I faked it. Damnit, if I didn't start to feel better too. Placebo effect, maybe. Who knows? I didn't want to kill myself, so I took off running with it. Hope is thrown around way to easily.
When my grandmother was missing (told y'all, TRAUMA) all anyone said was stay hopeful, keep the faith. But what happens when you never had hope and faith to begin with? So this time, when I'm being told the same thing, just about my cancer, it felt played out. It felt like an inappropriate response to say TO ME about me. You keep the faith, you keep hoping for the best. I'm still wrapping my mind around the fact that everything that makes me a woman will be gone, and if I choose to not follow through with the treatment plan, I WILL DIE. Those are the options you are given.
Let's stop here. I had therapy the other day, after my mastectomy, and made some revelations about what makes me a woman, and whooooo buddy it's not boobs and a uterus.

get to know me 🐝
i saw this, thought, 'this is fun, i'll do this later,' and proceeded to completely forget about it. thank you @sherrymagic and @chinzhilla for tagging me! i might take a little bit, but i eventually get there, and i had fun answering these.
do you make your bed? - nope. i remember one time when i tried making it into an habit, but to no avail.
what's your favourite number? - lucky number 3.
what is your job? - as of right now, i'm studying. i also occasionally translate articles and school papers (i know, surprising).
If you could go back to school would you? - honestly? yeah.
can you parallel park? - yes, but only if there are no cars behind me wanting to get through.
a job you had that would surprise people? - i don't know if it's surprising but i worked in a police station for like a year and a half during law school. it was actually my internship, but i did everything, so i will say it counts.
do you think aliens are real? - absolutely.
can you drive a manual car? - we learn how to drive in manual cars where i live, so yes. i do have an issue with inclines, though, but i can do everything else.
what's your guilty pleasure? - what is even a guilty pleasure, fr. nothing comes to mind, to be honest, and trust me i pondered over this for like almost 10 minutes.
tattoos? - unfortunately no. i do want to a haku on his dragon form on my shoulder, though.
favourite colour? - yellow.
favourite type of music? - pop, k-pop, r&b are genres i always go back to. during only friends, i started listening to a lot of alt/indie rock because of sand and khaotung's songs recommendations.
do you like puzzles? - as in jigsaw puzzles? yes. crosswords can be fun. i grow frustrated quite easily especially when there's a difficult puzzle on a video-game, so if i can't figure it out, i just skip it and move forward with my life.
any phobias? - i'm insanely scared of frogs (just found out it's an actual phobia, ranidaphobia). i guess claustrophobia, too, to some degree.
favourite childhood sport? - volleyball and handball. i was so good at those, but i got injured and had to quit.
do you talk to yourself? - yes, especially when i'm driving or riding my motorcycle.
what movie(s) do you adore? - i was thinking about this the other day, how all my favorites change depending on what phase i'm in, but the one constant has always been spirited away (2003, hayao miyazaki). i guess it's bc it's one of the first movies i ever watched that i could see myself in the protagonist, and it was the first one i could pinpoint as being my favorite. the ones i've been liking as of the last six months are la sociedad de la nieve and bottoms.
coffee or tea? - tea. any type of tea. coffee only if it's with milk (i'm lactose intolerant, but we ignore that)
first thing you wanted to be growing up - a dentist.
also another funny thing about me, i don't usually tag people in anything bc i'm like apprehensive that i'll be imposing on them (i don't feel like y'all are imposing on me when i get tagged, i feel really great actually, so i don't know why my brain just assumes that i'm the annoying one), but do feel free to do this and tag me if you wish to.

graduation
In Japan, when one decides to move onto greener pastures or simply quit the current job they have been doing for quite a while, that is referred to as graduation.
And thus, I too, will be graduating from translating Charisma House.
Earlier this month (May 2023) I decided to go on a break due some medical and personal issues I had to deal with. No thinking about translating at all, just doing what I want and what I like. It's been roughly two weeks now and for someone who is doing things all the time, it was more than enough to decide where I want to keep going with translating.
Of course, this isn't a spontaneous decision. It's something that weighed in the back of my mind for a bit- can I handle all of this? I love translating, but can I handle all of it? No, I cannot. I need to know my limits.
But most importantly, know what's fun.
Charisma House was very novel for me. I had to learn to understand the humor, grasp what's being implied, the nuances of the jokes that can be easily misunderstood if not read properly. It was a challenge that definitely pushed me beyond anything else ever could. And yet, that honeymoon phase of grasping something so novel, so different, has come to an end.
I still love Charisma House, and always will. I actively keep up and peruse the interwebs for fun theories and content. Yet with the direction of Season 2, I have noticed... translating it no longer sparks joy as it once did. It is still good content, but not the one that made me lose my marbles, or perhaps I have simply gotten used to it?
Or perhaps, I simply just... lost the spark and drive I once had for it. And that is fine. Such is the beauty of what's fleeting, 物の哀れ if you will.
Translating Charisma House was, and will always, be a fun experience for me. I'm happy I took the risk, a mere amateur like I, to still translate it. I learned a lot, I laughed a lot, I shared a lot. I never thought I would translate drama tracks, or even still try with song lyrics (which I did give up on but alas). Besides this, I have also dabbled in subbing anime, I have even attempted manga translating. But at the end of the day I realized that what truly sparks joy, what actually is fun for me, for me is visual novel type content.
Not only that, I also want to translate because... I want to. Not because it is an obligation to give the people content. A few weeks ago, my favourite mobile game released an event with my two fave characters and I had so much fun working on it. I felt so excited with each phrase I translated, I couldn't wait to show this to people.
Even when I am thinking of an other mobile game that's coming out soon, all I can think of is "God, I cannot wait to share this with the masses! I have to! It's my duty as a human being!"
That feeling is, alas, what I have been lacking with Charisma House for a while. And that is when I should know better, and draw the line.
As I said, it is no longer fun.
Is it that serious? That I'm dropping a series that I have translated? No, probably not. Happens all the time, I'm sure there are others waiting in line to continue what I was doing, or maybe not. Who knows.
But to me, it is, and that's why I wanted to convey it in a long hefty post.
As closure, I will share some words of one of my favourite manga. Something I live by, and will for as long as possible.
"The world is filled to the brim with nice things... and all of them are carrying someone's intentions and feelings.
When those feelings get across and manage to make someone happy... I gain little pieces of confidence,
that I'll gather together and carry with me as I move on."
And I believe something like that, is only achievable when you do something that is fun, to you.
Thank you for reading, this post, and my translations. Thank you for being able to find enjoyment in Charisma House through my translations. This blog is not going anywhere and will stay up, of course. You will probably still see me around on my other ventures, just not here.
And never forget,
Rikai-kun is cute and he will always be.

MASTERLIST
I pack the last few things, just one more jumper and a jacket in case it gets cold there, which could easily be the case this time of the year. And while I'm waiting, sitting on the couch, eyes fixed on the turned off television, I keep making up excuses in my head so I can save myself from going.
I'll be surrounded by people I don't know,  and with whom I'll just keep some small talk and superficial conversations. So, in that sense, I'll be relieved by Tammy's presence and controller energy. I'm low key sure she'll try to introduce me to everybody, and will be the one in charge of building my new friendships.
But Jungkook...
After what happened in the supermarket, we didn't talk much on our way back -more like we didn't speak at all. Not even when he offered to -genuinely- drive me back home. I didn't even use words, I simply nodded and muttered a low "Thank you" before I got off his car. And I'm ashamed. I acted all bitchy and still he offered to drive me back home..
Wait, I'm not feeling bad for him, am I?
Maybe it's because I knew he was right when he cornered me last week. Jungkook drives me nuts, but at the same time, I can't deny he has something that makes me lower my guard as soon as he's just centimeters away from me. Like my rational and mature side knows I should step back and keep some distance, while my needy side feels he's everything I've been waiting for. And what is this shit? A side effect of not living my teens the way I had wanted to? Is this a way to settle every phase of my life?
Seriously...
He's an asshole. And a little reminder for you, horny virgin, he has a girlfriend. Not only you should be thinking he's a dick, but he's also taken. And his girlfriend is someone you're trying to be friends with. Is that enough?
I've been so deep in my thoughts, I hadn't realized my phone was shaking in my pocket for a little while. Well, enough time to get three calls from Tammy.
—We're waiting for you —she sings—. Are you coming now or should I go up and drag you outside?
Yeah, no. I don't need that. I get up and give one last look to my house, making sure everything is correct before I place the strap on my shoulder and close the door behind me. I'm surprised to see one of my neighbors getting out of the lift. Ever since I moved in here -and it's been a few years-, I've barely run into any of them. And mister Hallagan, who lives next door, is no exception.
I rush to get in the elevator before the doors close. I try to look at my reflection through the painted and scratched mirror, but it's impossible. I give up, turning around again to face the small entrance once the doors open again on the low level. A loud bell noise in my back, that gets lower to  sound loud back again before it suddenly stops, officially informing me the elevator reached the first floor.
I'll end up being thankful for being able to get away from this place, even if it's just for a day.
But that happiness doesn't last long enough. Actually, the moment I cross the main door and see the black SUV that took me home last week, my expression fades. I feel tempted to turn around and get back to the elevator.
Could be it's Melanie's car.
I see Tammy leaning out the backseat window, waving at me while telling me to put my things in the car trunk.
With heavy steps, I walk to the car and do as she says, making sure I close the door correctly before I join her in the backseat. Although my eyes first see Tammy with a big smile, and Jungsoo looking excited to see me here, my thoughts get totally blinded by that annoying lip ring reflecting and those doe eyes looking at me through the driving mirror.
The longest four hours of my life.
Jungsoo and Tammy seem to rekindle the conversation they were having before I joined, and I really try to include myself in it. Trying hard to focus on their talk and avoid as much as possible the look he keeps on giving me.
Is this some type of revenge after what I did last week? Staring at me so deep until I get uncomfortable enough?
—Shall we stop somewhere and get something to eat? —Soo suddenly suggests.
—Yeah —Tammy lets out a sigh—. It'll also be okay to stretch out our legs.
—Imagine not eating anything until we get there —Soo jokes—. 5 pm, we safely arrived, but one of us is missing an arm.
While we're still on the road, and one of the moments we go absolutely silent, I pay attention to their gestures -or more like the lack of those. They aren't touchy, they don't playfully hold hands, don't look at each other. And Jungsoo didn't even talk to him. Maybe they're that kind of couple that rather show affection behind closed doors. And why the fuck am I even dissecting their relationship?
Two hours and a half later, the speed of the car decreases until it stops in a service area. We found it in the perfect moment, while we were close of going insane because of hunger. We kept saying to wait a bit more while we drove past some roadhouses. But as soon as we were hungry enough, that our guts were battling with one another about who's in more need of food, it seemed like all the bars and restaurants disappeared.
—I'll go to the restroom fast —I say as soon as we get in—. If they want to take our command, I'll get whatever you do —I talk to Tammy.
While they take a seat at one of the several empty tables, I head to the white door that's on the left side of the counter.
While I'm washing my hands, after finishing, I think Jungkook could pull a cliche and be waiting for me, bending on the wall in front of the restroom bathroom. I rub my hands harder, and as soon as my eyes reach my reflection on the mirror and see a flash of a smile, I know I'm in trouble. I suddenly stop smiling, and see my own expression being replaced by a disgusted face.
—What the fuck is wrong with you? —I scold myself.
I bend over, just so I can splash some water -and sense- on my face.
I sigh in relief when I open the door and the blank wall welcomes me back, along with the silence in the corridor and some choky noises from the kitchen.
I join them back shortly after, and my stomach roars as soon as I see they all have their drinks -which means the waitress took their orders already and food won't take too long. As I get closer, I realize Jungsoo and Tammy are sitting together in one of the benches. The only empty space is right next to Jungkook. I frown while I think about why they didn't sit together. And why do I even care?
If I thought things would get better the moment we started eating, I was wrong. The moment we get our burgers, he man spreads. His thigh and knee rubs against mine all the time, and I'm unable to think straight every single time it happens. Even the warmth coming from his body is giving me shiverings. I'm close to losing the appetite. I blame my lack of experience for this, but I refuse to believe he isn't bouncing his leg against mine accidentally. Although the way he keeps his head down, eating his burger makes me believe he might be doing it unconsciously.
And even if he was aware, most probably he'd apply the law of silence. The exact same one he's been practicing for a week. And that makes me wonder if he got offended at some point.
We don't spend much time there. We eat, rest for a bit and rush back to the car so we get to Seneca lake as soon as possible. Just two hours left.
I think maybe a good choice would be trying to sleep on our way there. But my body reacts by itself before I can even decide if I want to sleep. The accumulated tiredness and the burger I've just eaten seem to take a toll on my body, because once my head is lodged against the window, my eyelids seal and I forget about everything.
✸ ✸ ✸
I don't feel embarrassed when I wake up and all eyes in the car are set on me, nor when I realize I slept so deep and good I ended up drooling and soaking my sleeve, nor after entering the cabin and feeling like an intruder and see there's more people than just the guys I met in the bar -although Soo already told me the day I decided to join them.
Nope.
What makes me embarrassed is the fact that they already distributed the rooms, and everyone was pretty much aware of who'd be their roommate. Everyone but me, obviously. Oh, but it can get even funnier. Because my roommate is no one else but Jungkook. But it gets even worse when I decide to speak up. They all look at me confused, but burst out laughing the moment I say it's weird and it makes no sense making me sleep with him, when Jungsoo is the one dating him.
Would be great if they explained the joke.
I catch Jungkook laughing with the rest, probably a bit louder than them. It's the first time I've seen him like this ever since we started our trip, and that doesn't augur anything good.
—Jungkook, my boyfriend? —Soo asks after trying to put herself back together— Did you tell her that? —she asks Tammy.
My friend shakes her head fast, still laughing from my comment. And all I can think of is encouraging her to keep laughing, because once we're back in town, she'll remember this. Especially when we start planning the shifts.
—You talked about him the first night, you have matching tattoos —I point to my own wrist—. And, when I told him, he kinda confirmed it.
—I talked about my boyfriend, Mark, he was the one that met Tammy in the tattoo studio. Jungkook and him are partners —she explains—. He's my brother, the one I told you that was just starting to hang out with us.
Yeah, I remember that.
—About the tattoos, well it's a siblings' thing. It's our initials. I have his, and he has mine. Why didn't you tell her we weren't together when she told you? —she confronts her brother.
He's still laughing out loud, before he breathes out loudly to answer.
—She looked so convinced —now he looks at me—. How could I dare to contradict her? —his eyes challenge me.
I'll kill him. He better sleep with one eye open, because I'll kill him.

xxxvi: Settling Scores
Kraven had to be sedated before they could take him away. Fury and Agent Ross showed up to complete the task, now that Harley was awake, he'd been able to call for backup.
"What happened?" Cat scowled as she and Kurt mended the few bruises and scratches he had. "This was unlike you, Harley, didn't you say you took precautions?"
"I did! But he was crazy fast, Cat. He killed half of my people in like a minute, knocked me out in less than a second. I don't know how you could fight him alone..."
"I wasn't alone," Cat smiled up at the others, who were explaining who Kraven was to Fury and Ross. "My team was looking after me."
When Cat spotted the black man approaching, her posture straightened out of habit, she almost blurted out a "Hi, sir." But clenched her jaw before any sound could come out. She thought he'd be mad, she'd shown up here and there doing whatever she wanted for years, but to her surprise, Fury chortled.
"If it isn't Miss I'm-no-hero!" He taunted her, the most striking part about him was that he no longer wore an eyepatch. "How's that working for you?"
Cat felt terribly self-conscious about the logo on her back. "Alright, yeah, I might've spoken too soon..."
"No shit!" He raised a brow. "Imagine my surprise when I heard that little country prince had been saved by Copycat and her team of young Avengers!"
Cat grumbled her response like an angry kid. "What's it to ya? You're not the boss anymore..."
"So you'll be the leader?" Fury pressed, his smile evaporating. "You can provide transport, weaponry, and contacts?"
Her brows furrowed. "Maybe."
"Maybe!" He let out a short, dry laugh. "Eyes up, agent!"
Cat obeyed. She groaned, scolding herself for having such a quick response. "What?"
Fury eyed her with amusement, Cat had always been impertinent, he enjoyed seeing her eat her words. The man reached to shake her hand. "I look forward to working together, Copycat."
Cat stared at his hand, she shook it firmly and spoke in a wary voice. "Yeah... I guess."
He glanced over her shoulder at Spider-man and the rest. "That your whole team?"
Cat responded with certainty this time. "No, just the Hawkeye."
"What about the rest?" Fury scowled.
"They're just my friends," she shrugged. "This concerned Nightcrawler too, so he came here to put an end to this. Spider-man's just a good guy, he likes to be helpful."
The man glanced at the other mutant. "Why is he not on your team? Heard he's good."
"He's not here to stay." Cat smiled, her eyes a little dejected as she spoke.
"Keep an eye on him either way. Do you have recruits in line?"
"A few," she nodded. "But don't meddle with that, I'll take care of 'em."
"What about the compound?"
Cat gestured at the mansion. "You're looking at it."
The man huffed, might've been a laugh, but she wasn't sure. "Is that right?"
She smirked. "If you can get someone who can make it happen, I guess it is."
Fury groaned. "Always getting me in trouble..."
"Wouldn't be me otherwise," Cat joked.
Fury said he'd look into it, he and Agent Ross left with Kraven numbed and handcuffed. Kurt approached her hesitantly. "We need to talk..."
"You're leaving," she didn't meet his eyes, still looking at the black vehicle that was driving away. "To become a Guardian."
Her friend stared at her carefully. "Who told you?"
"I kind of guessed it, when I heard you talking with Rocket," she sighed. "You called him 'Boss' and 'Captain', which means you're working with him again."
Kurt drew out his blaster and started tinkering with it. "Out in space, no one bats an eye when I walk into a room. I'm normal, handsome, even... It feels right. "
"I think you're handsome—"
"You know what I mean," he pressed. "You met a mutant that lives underwater, not so long ago. You said he proved to you that we can do anything... so I'm doing it. I'm reaching for the stars."
The thought of Kurt living galaxies away made her soft, but not for the reason she'd expected. Cat was happy for him, and very proud. "I knew this would happen," she said. "When we met I promised you a good life in space... and you used to love it there, I never forgot."
"I love being here as well," he shrugged, "it's not bad, it's just..."
"It's not for you," she pushed. "Your real family's out there. Apart from me, the Guardians were the first group of people who loved you, I understand why you want to be with them."
"But you'll always be my best friend," Kurt said hoarsely.
Cat teared up, yet she did her best to smile. "We're soulmates, Kurt. Nothing's gonna change that."
They hugged as if trying to suffocate each other. It felt weird, knowing they were parting ways. No more team-ups unless they faced a Thanos 2.0, and if she was honest, she hoped that would never happen.
Maybe he'd visit, maybe he'd call, but they would never spend time like this again, and it wasn't bad, but it made her feel uneasy. Cat broke the hug and cleaned her nose, Kurt dried his tear-stained face.
Kate approached with worry. "You okay, guys?"
"Kurt's leaving," her lip started quivering again. "I need a moment..."
She walked away while Kurt explained everything to their friend, what he'd decided to do now that everything was over. Cat had barely controlled her crying when Spidey approached and tapped her shoulder.
"What?" She asked quietly.
"There's something you should know..."
"Oh man, what now?" She complained, rubbing her eyes tiredly.
"Please, don't get mad," Peter groaned, pressing his hands over his masked face. "Maybe it's not a good idea..."
"Just say it, Webs," Cat sniffed. "I can take it."
She was trying to be brave, considering she most certainly could not take any more. Peter hesitated, but in the end, even if she couldn't, he had to do it. "Parker's not gone, he's in my apartment. He wants me to go to his universe with him so I can take the beeper back once he gets there."
Cat stared at him. "Oh my god," she breathed. Parker would leave forever because he thought Cat didn't care, that she didn't like him. He was right, Cat didn't like him. She loved him.
It came down on her overwhelmingly fast. That feeling of despair was longing, the fear she felt when he was around her was only a rush of expectation. It was her brain asking many questions at once.
Can I do this?
Can I be happy?
Do I deserve it?
Is it real?
"He can't go," she said, more to herself than to her friend. "Not like this."
"I thought the same," Peter's voice brightened. "What are you waiting for, C?"
All this time, the ticking in her head had been three words in disguise.
Is this real?
Is this real?
Is this real?
Every time she lost the sources of joy in her life, those thoughts pestered her relentlessly. But Parker was real still, she hadn't lost him yet. He'd looked into the darkest parts of her soul and treated them with respect and understanding since the start, and even knowing all she could be, he'd stayed.
Cat gave Peter a brief hug. "Tell the others I'll see them tomorrow— Make sure Harley is truly okay and tell Kurt he can't leave without saying goodbye!"
"Will do!"
She sprinted out of there, the mutant heard the others shouting her name but before any of them could reach her she teleported to Peter's apartment.
Tumblr media
The place was empty, the sun was going down, and she was panicking a little. What if Parker decided to leave and destroy the beeper in his universe?
No, the beeper was a gift, she didn't think he'd have the heart to break it. Cat copied Matt's ability and heard a heartbeat on the rooftop: young and anxious.
She stormed out of the apartment, went upstairs jumping two steps at a time, and quickly reached the rooftop access. Cat tugged the door open struggling to breathe, everything seemed to be moving fast and dreadfully slow at the same time.
"Peter Parker!" Her eyes spotted the young man standing at the opposite end of the roof. He turned to her, confused.
"What the—" he never got to finish the question, because Cat rushed to his encounter, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and kissed him as if her life depended on it. Her hand went up to his hair keeping him in place.
Parker's hands found their way around, one settled on her waist and the other on her cheek. He reciprocated so eagerly that Cat's knees buckled. Peter kept her steady. "I—" she was cut short by his lips, then tried to speak without moving away. "I...mmove... u."
"What?" He pulled away to breathe just a second, his eyes remained closed as he leaned down once more, searching for her mouth blindly.
Cat positioned both hands on his shoulders, she needed him to hear her as clearly as possible. "I love you. I couldn't let you go thinking I didn't care. Peter, I want you so badly it makes me look stupid."
"You hate looking stupid," he replied in awe.
"I don't care anymore," she shook her head, breathing heavily. "Kurt said he'll reach for the stars, and if he's brave enough to leave this place, then I should too."
Parker's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"
"I've been too comfortable in my misery," she sulked. "It's a type of pain I know how to handle... and I've met people who make me want to be better but you... you make me better. That scared me. There is always a chance to fall back to rock bottom when you're good."
"I'm scared too," Parker cupped her face tenderly. "But you're worth the risk. And I want to be worthy of you. Even if it hurts, or if you're scared. Even if you can't promise to stay forever. You are worth trying for," he emphasized his last sentence. "So, please, let us try."
Cat let out an incredulous laugh at how certain he sounded, she was overwhelmed. "But I'm... I'm so hard to keep, Peter..."
"That just means you're human," his brows furrowed. "Doesn't mean you don't deserve to be happy. I know you don't know what to call yourself outside that suit, but you wanna know who you are to me?" He leaned his forehead on hers, voice tender. "The whole package."
Cat's eyes softened. "It's a package with a lot of mistakes, though..." she replied, though no longer trying to argue against him.
"Everyone makes mistakes," he shrugged, Peter didn't seem tired of hearing the same response over and over, he was willing to repeat himself too. "And if somebody doesn't, they aren't trying at all. The beautiful part is that we keep learning, we can always get better. Your mistakes are just a part of who you're meant to be, but I don't see them as something unforgivable, only things that make you a real person."
Tears started spilling down her face and onto his thumbs, she held his wrists gently. "What if that's not enough to keep us together?"
"We have so much to experience, so many dreams to accomplish, and people to meet... we'll get hurt, Cat, we don't know why or how much... but I rather live through that with you, than never see you again. The life we could live is worth being a little afraid. And I love that. I love you."
Cat leaned in for another kiss, not as passionate as before, just enough to feel him close again. "Have you considered starting a career as a poet?" She said with a shaky voice. "I think you'd make more money than by working as a scientist..."
"Shut up," He chuckled, his smile only getting bigger. "I know what you're trying to do, but I won't let you ruin the moment. Let me have it," his doe eyes gazed down at her as he brushed her nose with his. "I have to go back, don't I?" He said, pouting a little. "I can't take you away... I won't do that to you."
"I may have a way of fixing your problem," she said, starting to come up with one of her outside-the-box plans. "It might be nonsense, though... can you stay one more day?"
"Probably not," he shook his head, biting his lip to try and stop smiling. It wasn't working. "But I bet we'll have fun if I do."

I'm back to ask OC
Do you think this etiquette thing is a just a phase to please your mom and stepfather?
Or do you plan to live in this high class world as an adult and consider them crucial?
Back so soon? I love it! Let's see what cheeky response she has for you
~~~~~
Oh wow! You have a question for me too? I was afraid that Jungkook was going to get all the love and attention.
(It seems like he's very used to getting it if you ask me)
Yes honestly I can't wait until this whole debutante nonsense is over.
Then I can get back to actually having enough time to study and do things I actually enjoy doing. I feel like I've been neglecting Jesse which makes me really sad but I know he understands.
He's always dying to hear about every lesson and get all the 'juicy details' so he makes sure to call me when I'm driving home afterwards.
(or at least when I actually get to drive myself home)
I haven't really decided if I plan to live in high society so to say but I'll probably keep any connections that I might need in the future.
I'll keep up a good public image to make sure to refrain from causing any scandals at the very least since I would hate to cause any problems for James since he's been nothing but nice to me. It's the least I could do you know?
Learning how to talk the talk and walk the walk is going to be beneficial in the long run but right now it's just exhausting and having Jungkook as my teacher isn't making things any easier.
(he is cute though but his personality is something that is hard to look past)
Thanks for asking about what I think of this nonsense they're putting me through because the only other person I can talk to about it is Jesse and all he does is tease me about Jungkook.
(Gotta love him though)
Anyways, I hope I hear from you again soon!
Thank you for tagging me @septembersghost I always love doing these 🥰
♥ list 13 TS song lyrics that describe you
picture me In the weeds before I learned civility
how can a person know everything at 18 but nothing at 22?
small talk, he drives, coffee at midnight
you should take it as a compliment that I’m talking to everyone here but you (bonus: guess I'll just stumble on home to my cats)
gray november, I've been down since july
who could ever leave me, darling? but who could stay?
I'd give you my sunshine, give you my best, but the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me
I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser, midnights become my afternoons
I laid the groundwork and then, just like clockwork the dominoes cascaded in a line - what if I told you I’m a mastermind?
did you ever hear about the girl who got frozen? time went on for everybody else, she won't know it
You learn my secrets and you figure out why I'm guarded, you say we'll never make my parents' mistakes
up 3 AM pacing, "it's not just a phase I'm in"
don't know how long it's gonna take to feel okay but I know I had the best day with you today<3
take your meds (a cautionary tale)
medication is truly wild. being mentally ill is weird as hell too.
i mean i read and hear a lot about bpd and i know it's a mental illness but at the end of the day i'm just like yeah bpd makes me a little silly. just a little bit. but i'm just like everyone else. i tend to forget that it's literally an illness a chemical imbalance and all that.
before i took my current medication (lithium) i was struggling with very strong suicidal thoughts. i was in the planning phase and i couldnt go to sleep without thinking or dreaming on how i would do it. and when i started taking it that changed a bit.
lithium didn't get rid of those thoughts, i still thought that i could kill myself and it's a comforting idea but i stopped the planning and the thoughts weren't as heavy as before. but it doesn't feel like healing, you know? it doesn't feel like mental illness either it just feels like it was an obsession that i kind of got over
so to me, even if i know that the medication is helpful, it doesn't feel like it because i never truly pin pointed my betterment to the medication. so, it wouldn't be such a big deal if i didn't take it for a couple of days, right?
i'm out of my psychiatrist office, walking to the bus stop and i see on my way a trashbag FILLED with pills. full boxes of different medications I've never even heard of. truly i had never seen more pills in my life. it's right on the sidewalk. and the thought comes to mind to just take it, go to the nearby beach and od there. if they're throwing them away they're probably not in good condition but who cares i'm not trying to heal my booboos.
and i walk a couple more steps but i can't leave because my way out of life is right there. it's time. and i hear my own mind going crazy and im just on the sidewalk, and i start sobbing because i asked my mom to come with me to the appointment but she said no and she will always feel guilty for my death, for not coming with me. but it's time. and i'll get to see the beach one last time.
but there's also that side that's going you have to call someone. you can't do this to your mom, to your whole family. but who can you call? what if i call my mom and she drives here and she rushes so much she crashes? i could call my ex but he's so done with me i can't stress him out. i could call my best friend but she lives in another country so what can she do. you can't burden anyone with this, but you can't kill yourself yet. not yet.
so i walk a little more and i keep walking, sobbing, probably making every stranger around me so uncomfortable. but i keep walking and crying until i'm far away and i start to feel a bit better even if the idea of going back is appealing.
and now i'm on the bus. and i don't understand how those thoughts can rush back to me in only three days of not taking my medication. i know i'm mentally ill but i also forget what that means, i'm young and lucky enough to not have needed medication until now, and it's so crazy to me that it feels like i cannot control my own mind.
i feel like i should be able to control symtomps, but i can't. that's what lithium is for.
anyway.
15 Very Normal Questions
@kaiusvnoir tagged me in this and it's glorious. Also, there are only ten questions. Here goes...
Do you prefer owls, capybaras, or flamingos? Flamingos's legs freak me out (intrusive thoughts about bones snapping *shudder*) and owls are basically heads with wings, so I'm going to have to go with capybaras.
What is your favorite soup? Soup is one of my favourite things to make and I go through phases of being obsessed with certain flavours, but at the moment it's lentil and chilli.
What is your favorite…rock (idfk)? Amethyst or industrial, depending on what kind of rock we're talking about.
Choose a familiar: - very dumb, very loving disobedient dog. He loves you but will never listen to you ever - a raven that speaks but it only ever shrieks the name of various fast food restaurants - a toad that screams like a teenage boy instead of croaks I'll take the raven because I feel like I could blame it for indulgent dietary choices. "Raven, what should I have for every meal today?"…"TIM HORTONS!"…"Well, OK then."
Which planet do you feel like would be kind of an asshole if you met them? Uranus is the obvious answer here, but I think Pluto might be working through some kind of identity crisis which might make them complicated to communicate with.
if you were a worm would you love me? Sure. I wouldn't love you as much as I love being a soil tube and not getting eaten by early birds, but you're cool.
Least favorite type of clothing? Anything restrictive or with scratchy seams or labels. Sensory nightmare.
You are now in a horror movie-so sorry. Chance of survival? Pretty good if someone was making my decisions for me and I just had to drive an armoured camper van and blast things, but fucking awful if I was making my own choices because I'm absolutely the reckless "What the fuck are you doing? No! Get out of there!" person in most situations. Also, I'd probably die stupidly and my last words would be something like "I couldn't find the instructions to fix the roof gun, but it doesn't matter, right?" or "Shut up, zombie cats are still cute"
Would you rather: the ability to instantly grow a perfect mustache, or ability to talk to vegetables? I can already talk to vegetables, but it's a very one-sided conversation.
What do you think of whales? OK, story time. When I was a kid, I had one of those books that depicted scenarios to teach words. One of the pages had a picture of two dudes in a tiny boat and a fucking massive whale in the water beneath them. The text said, "The whale is big. The boat is small. The men are in danger." The fact that I remember this thirty-something years later is indicative of how much it unsettled me. So I love huge majestic things that live in deep water, as long as they aren't directly endangering me.
Tagging @manathen, @nanashi23, @ezestreet, @thegreatobsesso, @i-can-even-burn-salad and @sergeantnarwhalwrites, if you'd like to do it 💜
