Junelezen Day 26: Late

"You're late," Guydelot says as Alinea and Estinien make their way towards him and Sanson.

Estinien chuckles as Alinea rolls her eyes at the bard. The noise causes Guydelot to tilt his head back and smirk. Alinea flips him off before crossing her arms.

"Hello Sanson. You didn't have to bring your other half with you if he's been bothering you."

Sanson laughs, now used to their antics.

"He's been rather well behaved till now. Though I'm sorry to say, it seems Sephy's quite attached to us."

Alinea sees that indeed, her pink carbuncle has gone to sit by Sanson. Guydelot had reached over to give Sephy a scratch and apparently found the right spot, as the carbuncle's head was tilted adorably.

"Hm, well at least Demetri has more sense."

At Sephy's sad little chirp and Guydelot's deep laughter, accompanied by smaller chuckles from Estinien and Sanson, Alinea smiles and starts to relax. She makes her way to sit next to Guydelot, with Estinien coming to sit next to her and Demetri. She places a hand on Estinien's leg while leaning her head on Guydelot's shoulder.

"It's good to have you here. What do you think of Thavnair? Oh, and Sephy? I'm not actually mad at you."

Her carbuncle gives a little chirp, while Sanson starts petting her. Guydelot leans his head on top of Ali's.

"This view is beautiful. I know you all went through a lot, but I am glad we didn't have to abandon our homes."

She smiles as Estinien squeezes her hand.

"I am sorry we were late. Trna stopped us on the way. She wants to have another hippo cart race sometime."

Sanson starts laughing as Guydelot's excitement levels rise.

"Really? Can you do it now?! The radio broadcast was fine and all."

"It was great Guydelot."

"Yes, the bunnies sounded adorable Sanson, but imagine an actual bard delivering the story of the intergalatic race for the ages."

Alinea leans forward, looking at Sanson.

"He's not going to let this go is he?"

"Nope."

Estinien laughs, before joining in.

"I do have to say, I was sad to have missed the grand race. But a rematch between the top two participants would be fun."

Alinea sighs, "Not you too."

Her smile however, gives away her own excitement.

"Fine, for you all, I shall do it."

She stands, pulling the rest of the group up with her. Her carbuncles come into step behind her, as she leads the group to Trna.

"After this though, we're getting curry in Radz at Han."

Yandere House Stark Headcanons

A/N: I ended up not doing Bran and Rickon only because I wanted to get this out sooner rather than later and they were a little difficult to write for. If you'd like to see headcanons for them I can definitely make another post for them, just let me know.

Let's say you are a low born person looking for refuge in Winterfell after your village was sacked by Wildlings. You had hoped to find some tavern to hold up in or even a brothel, but unbeknownst to you the Stark family kept an eye on newcomers. When they received news of your arrival, they requested your presence. It was only to talk about the possibility of nearby Wildlings, but when YOU showed up beaten and scared for your life- how could they not offer their Stark hospitality?

This is where the yandere tendencies begin.

Ned Stark, as a yandere, is protective and definitely has a savior complex. He's an honorable and just man that can't help but bring home strays, so when he sees you it's like finding Jon all over again. A deep sense of responsibility comes over him and he knows in that moment that you are just as much his as any of his kids. From that day forward he assigns a room for you in the castle and a handmaiden to keep you company, not that you'll be needing it. The family of course is shocked at his sudden interest, but they all love to see him happy and nothing makes him more happy than seeing you taken care of.

Now Catelyn is initially worried that Ned has taken a romantic interest in you, but when she sees the way you both interact she understands the fatherly bond he is trying to create very similar to his own kids. It didn't take long for her to fall into her own yandere tendencies; checking in on you in the mornings, making prayer wheels even when you're not sick, helping in the kitchen to make sure your food was perfect ( and not poisoned). She takes her role as your surrogate mother very seriously,sometimes to the extent of watching you sleep or ordering guards to discreetly watch over you and report back. Her biggest worry is that you'll be taken away from them so she takes extra precautions to keep you safe.

Robb is head over heels for you instantly. Man is down bad. Much like his father, Robb has a savior complex and finds himself wanting to be YOUR savior always. He does this by training extra hard with Jon, keeping an eye on you at all times, and giving threatening looks to any man or woman who gets too close to you. He doesn’t mean to scare away any potential friends but he does mean to scare away potential lovers. He couldn’t bear to see you with anyone outside the family, and even then he has a sword up his butt about it. 

On the other hand, Jon takes a while to warm up to you. He loves his family and is vicious to outsiders who could harm them. Eventually, seeing how you interact with everyone makes him a tad jealous. Not of you, but of his family and how easily they can approach you. I definitely see Jon as an overprotective/stalker yandere with strong jealous tendencies that make him beg for your approval. He finds himself wherever you are, lurking in the background, waiting for the right moment to catch you alone. Jon feels like himself around you and the more time you spend together the more addicted to your presence he becomes. 

Theon is hands down THE worshiper of the group. It's a hot take for sure but as a yandere, I see Theon's insecurities and fears taking over, slightly similar to reek!Theon. He sees you as a deity, above the Lords and Ladies, even above the King/Queen themself. If it were up to him he'd be the one giving you your meals, running your baths, standing by your side as guard. He cherishes your very presence and hopes one day you'll see his never ending loyalty to you and only you. 

Sansa is very quiet about her obsession, you almost couldn't tell. She's the perfect friend, always sitting next to you at meals, gossiping about the Lords and Lady's of court, and helping you stock your wardrobe. Whatever hobby you choose to pick up, she's always there to praise you in your efforts and guide you in whatever way she can. She especially loves teaching you how to embroider as it's her specialty. It was all but normal until you came upon her private journal filled with both your names in beautiful cursive surrounded by hearts. You begin to notice the closeness she silently demands, eyeing everyone else to stay away. You see the way she longingly watches you from afar when you choose to spend time with anyone else. And your dresses, that you both so carefully picked out, seem to have a little embroidered "SS" on the nape of your neck.

Arya sees you as her golden older sibling, the one who can do no wrong. She is constantly dragging you around Winterfell - riding horses and trying to shoot arrows (and failing lol). She finds comfort within you, the only person who doesn't expect anything of her except to be herself. And for that she will never leave your side. Most nights you'll find her trying to sneak into your room to share a bed, but whether she can get past the guards Ned and Catelyn have posted outside your door is another story.

I hate it when people say Ginny "deserved better" when it comes to the way she was written and portrayed in canon. I'm sorry but no she didn't deserve better. She was a barely there Mary Sue character who existed primarily to be the future wife of Harry and link to him joining the Weasley family. She was also supposed to be this very powerful witch but again it never paid off. She didn't amount to anything. She turned out to be a big nothing burger of a character.

Idk. I do think she deserves better, though I definitely get where you're coming from. Ginny as a character really annoys me from book 6 on. Book 6 and 7 Ginny feels like a shallow and annoying Mary Sue and also is just kinda mean and I hate that she never gets called on her bad behavior. As soon as I feel like a story is trying to shove a character down my throat and insist that I love them and that they are flawless, I kinda feel turned off by the character and I want to hate them out of spite. Ginny's pettiness and stuff like her being pretty awful to Fleur and getting angry at Harry for even saying something nice about Fleur even though he has no romantic interest in her just really rubs me the wrong way. Especially bc these flaws are ignored and even glorified by the story. Plus there's not much there with her character.

She feels like this kinda wish fulfillment empty vessel. And I hate that she gets touted as this perfect girl for Harry when their romance feels so empty and her character feels so un-compelling - which is honestly pretty unusual because generally the characters in HP are really interesting, even the ones we only hear a little about.

Now that said, I still do actually feel that she deserves better. What do I mean by that? Well, first of all, in-universe she ends up with someone who frankly, doesn't pay much attention to her. Harry barely knows anything about Ginny and never makes her his priority. Even in the epilogue it feels like he barely even consulted her on naming their children. He never really views her as an equal or respects her opinion. And she seems to feel pressured to act a certain way to please him. Like not crying in front of him because it might bother him, but apparently having been extremely upset after their breakup according to Ron etc. I don't think they are really compatible or have a deep or substantive relationship and I think that's sad and she (or anyone in that situation) deserves better.

Also from a more Doylist POV she deserved better because her character had so much potential. I actually loved Ginny in book 5. She has a lot of growth but also still feels connected to who she was in the first 4 books. She doesn't need to be amazing and perfect at everything. She's human and real. She catches a snitch by luck because it was slow and her competitor looked away at the wrong moment - and she has the humility to notice and admit this. And it doesn't matter. Harry's professional-level good at Quidditch. She's good at other things. Also Harry and Ginny actually have a deeper and more trusting relationship in that book than in book 6, but I digress. She doesn't need to suddenly be an amazing seeker and an amazing chaser and be #NotLikeOtherGirls and super into Quidditch (even tho she wasn't in book 4) to be likable but book 6 makes her all these things and it just takes away from the real and human and flawed and empathetic and actually funny Ginny we have in book 5.

Also her whole backstory from book 2 was really promising. She and Harry could've bonded over both having had Voldemort inside their heads. She could've provided critical insights about Tom Riddle since she spent a year essentially being pen pals with him. She could've had an epic arc where in book 7 she took on a more central role in the fight and ultimately got to face her childhood monster and destroy a Horcrux. Also there was just a lot to explore with her dealing with the trauma from book 2. She could've done so much. But nope. She just gets reduced to Love Interest TM. So yeah we had this really great character who was just coming into her own in book 5 and had all this amazing potential and then gets absolutely torpedoed by JKR bc she doesn't know how to write romance. And I do think that's a shame.

Now I ship drarry and I think that's always going to be the most interesting and well set up relationship for Harry to be in. But I think Harry and Ginny getting together the way they did is realistic but I think they would then realize they aren't really a good match - they don't know each other and both are more attracted to the idea of each other than anything else. I think them realizing this and working through it would be something interesting to explore in an 8th year fic.

My thoughts on popular Aemond Ships

Lucerys/Aemond

I think this ship had definitely made me look at Aemond differently, like him more. But yeah I love this ship. So many possibilities and ugh, they have so much parallels and the obsession Aemond has on him. Second sons together, even if Luke is definitely of a different status compared to Aemond. Nothing I could say could truly express my feelings but I think you guys can understand lol.

Alys/Aemond

I just don’t enjoy this ship. I know people are hyping it up. But like she’s in her 40s, he’s more than half that age. In the show he’s 16. Also he held her captive, she was his prisoner. I do not like that. Both sides of the ship, it’s just a terrible thing. And I like darker ships but this I cannot get behind

Helaena/Aemond

I honestly don’t ship Helaena with anyone, I don’t see her having romantic or sexual interest with people. I especially don’t see her interested with either ofher brothers, just love familial love. I also don’t really believe the theory that Aemond is the father of her children. He would have been like 11 for that to be true and…yeah not a fan.

Daemon/Aemond

Okay okay, I have to admit this is kind of funny. But it’s a weird one. Out of all of these I don’t dislike it as much compared to some of the others bc it’s kind of amusing to me. Kind of expected tbh, I don’t like it but it’s not the worst I’ve seen.

Rhaena/Aemond

The ship itself I don’t particularly hate, I don’t like it but I can deal with it. The reasoning I’ve seen to ship them together (wanting to take Rhaena away form TB and hate on other TB characters) and the shippers who do that are so adamant about it, ruins the ship. Also I don’t see Rhaena being into Aemond or Aemond being into Rhaena at all.

Jacaerys/Aemond

I do like it less than Lucemond but I do think it is an interesting ship. And could definitely see some potential for them. I do have other Jace ships that stop me from loving Jace and Aemond more. But it’s still an interesting pairing to think about.

Aegon/Aemond

I don’t really think they even have a good brotherly bond, let alone seeing them as a romantic paring. It’s not a bad one and it could be interesting but I am not a huge fan. I could see why people like it, but I am not one of the people who do. I do think Aegon would want to/would try to several of his family members, however

AroAce Zenitsu

HEAR. ME. OUT.

I know that — given Zenitsu’s very blatant obsession with romance and his behavior toward women in general — this headcanon immediately seems unrealistic, but I genuinely think that it’s one of the most interesting and fitting ideas I’ve ever had for him. Especially when you go deeper into his character and the themes of love, fear, and self hatred that ultimately surround him. They’re present from the very beginning, when he “proposes” to that random civilian girl.

He might say that it’s because he thinks she fell in love with him, but his explanation for why she has to marry him ultimately boils down to “I have to marry someone before I die.” Or “someone has to love me before I die.” It has absolutely nothing to do with the girl he’s supposedly interested in, and that applies to nearly every moment he has with a “romantic interest.” Including Nezuko! It seems like he’s more obsessed with the idea of being in love or having it than actually experiencing it.

It is a very real possibility (given the era and Zenitsu’s implied lack of a real childhood) that he grew up under the assumption that romantic love was the only kind of valid love. More accurately, the only kind of love that couldn’t abandon him. Familial love was supposed to be unconditional, but his parents orphaned him before he was even old enough to remember what they looked like. Platonic love was barely any better, given the implication that his friends abandoned him when his fear originally got in the way of their bond.

There’s little doubt in my mind that he’d seen or even heard tons of married couples who stayed together despite hating or no longer caring for each other, simply because it’s what they were supposed to do. Would it be that much of a surprise if it turned out that Zenitsu had simply latched onto that? If he saw a couple who thought everything about the other was annoying but stayed anyway, and craved it even when he knew it would hurt him? He had seven ex-girlfriends who used him for money and then discarded him.

And every time I watch him fluster in front a random pretty girl, the same question sits at the back of my mind: “do you actually like her, or are you just unused to the idea that someone might look at you and find you desirable at all?”

Because it’s exactly how I used to think.

I used to think that romantic relationships were the only kind where people could stand beside each other forever, without a doubt in their minds that that’s where they were supposed to be for the rest of their lives. That whatever friends and family you had would inevitably have to leave you behind for their romantic partners, and that being anything less than one of those would make you a permanent second choice. So I forced myself to have crushes and become comfortable with the idea of a future where I had kids and a husband and played housewife. I was wrong. Dead wrong.

And, yeah, a lot of this is definitely me projecting onto Zenitsu (a thing I do with basically all of my favorite characters) but tell me that that doesn’t make at least a little bit of sense to you?

some vague thoughts about the ghosts and children:

robin: we know robin had kids, a lot of them, some with his sister, and he's a good dad. however he really ought to be a bit older than 23 if he has lots of kids, especially older kids. this is me picking a fight with canon but i refuse to accept he's any younger than 30. soz

humphrey: we get no hint as to whether he has children or not, but i lean towards no, and if yes, then any children he did have died in infancy. i suspect he would really like having children, on an emotional/personal level, but he would also like having limbs, so, you know, there's no need to be hasty. it doesn't really matter, though, since he'd be attainted and any heir (whether his son or a brother or a cousin) wouldn't stand to inherit anything

mary: she probably had children, but again, i suspect they may have died young - if not, then that's really depressing, given the kids would be orphans...

kitty: i think she likes the idea of it in the same way she likes the idea of romance - it's a good story, but not something she has any life experience with. and i imagine she'd enjoy having a loving family of her own, but as she's already discovered, that's possible without children

thomas: he's at heart a romantic more than a Romantic and his dream is to settle down in a nice mansion with isabelle and raise their sixteen children or whatever. he'd be all in on the cottagecore bullshit and the idyllic fantasy, but would find the actual experience incredibly hard if he had to deal with it himself. fortunately, he wouldn't, because he would have servants. he would also like having a legacy a lot, and children who have no choice about hearing his poetry. that said i think he's definitely younger than 28 and very much the idealistic youth. he and robin should swap ages

fanny: had children. loathed it the entire time. loathed her (1-2) children even more than george. maybe it would be better if they both had more choice? but let's be real, they would probably both end up as parents whose only bonding point was that they hated their children more than each other regardless of era

the captain: an eternal bachelor who has nothing against children but would ultimately panic if he had to hold a three-year-old. nine-year-olds and the like are alright, but toddlers? terrifying

pat: we know he had kids and how he felt about this bc he was a relatively normal person

julian: should NOT be trusted with children but will end up with them (illegitimate or otherwise) nevertheless. surprisingly good with children as long as they aren't his. a real hit at family gatherings despite his despicable morals

So, I’ve recently gotten this Jimmy. He’s been settling in very well with my other emperors, and my Lizzie instantly took to him. However, I noticed that my Scott was beginning to show signs of courtship, though it took me a bit to realize he wasn’t trying to be aggressive, as I’d never witnessed one before. It seemed to be going alright, but then my Lizzie started targeting my Scott, cornering and trying to intimidate him, but she instantly stops when my Jimmy is around. She hasn’t physically attacked him yet, but I’ve separated them, just in case. I was hoping I could let my emperors roam free and all interact with each other, but now I’m worried that I’ll have to keep my Scott or Lizzie locked in so they don’t hurt each other. Any idea why she started to get so territorial?

Hi there, thanks for the ask!

I understand your concern on all fronts - elven courtship is a stand out and highly unique ritual that definitely isn't for the faint of heart, and any responsible emperor owner would be concerned with territorial behaviour. However, I am pleased to reassure you than the behaviour of your Lizzie is not a result of any actual behavioural issues - in fact, your Lizzie being so well bonded to her Jimmy is a complete credit to your emperor husbandry. This behaviour is great indicator that you've successfully recreated the natural, mutually beneficial and familial relationships wild Lizzies are inclined to form with their closely related brother species, the Jimmy Solidarity.

But enough of my biology geeking - you came here seeking advice. I've already mentioned the behaviour of your Lizzie is entirely natural, but here's why - it is a completely normal reaction of a rescued or freshly mature Lizzie to witnessing the courtship behaviours of Jimmy and his mate towards each other. The fact is, your Lizzie has never seen elven courtship rituals either - to her, Scott is initiating his own kind of territorial dispute and general challenge to her bonded Jimmy, and as the larger and more powerful species, she will see it as her duty to muscle in and protect Jimmy. Indeed, keeping an eye on her "Little brother" is what she was born for, and while she's doing a very good job, it's understandably distressing for you and your Scott. You never mentioned how old your Lizzie was, or where exactly you got her from (Wild caught, rescue, domestic bred, etc) but both of these are contributing factors to the intensity of this behaviour - although almost all Lizzies will have protective instincts like this, only some will have this strong of a reaction. This is usually the case of rescued Lizzies who have not been bonded with a Jimmy before, or freshly matured Lizzies who are in the same situation. This does happen in the wild too - imagine the battering a Scott might get when there are multiple bonded Lizzies to one Solidarity.

However the most important thing to note about this behaviour is it is temporary - this will not affect the future of your emperor colony nor will it have any poor effect on your emperors if managed correctly. Keeping an eye on your emperors is vital - many have reported baby monitors and home security, such as a cheap camera above any popular communal areas are extremely effective for amateur behaviour monitoring. The main function of this is to ensure that no one is getting hurt or having prolonged fights while you're away, as these are signs the behaviour phase is not playing out as planned (though you can also find some hilarious clips) Provided nothing of the sort is found, you can be reassured that this stage will play out eventually and the house will return to normal. Whether this is because the Lizzie figures out nothing is wrong or because the Scott finally gets over the prolonged hostile stage of his courtship ritual and actually starts behaving romantically towards your Jimmy is entirely up to the individual temperaments of personalities of your group. Rest assured, it will end, and in the meantime, maybe your Scott getting what was coming to him after being such a big bully in courtship, heh.

They’re a bit messy in this one. I’ve started writing it, but I’ll give you half a plot outline as well ->

Aaron, 29, doctor, she’s staring down 30 and her life is NOT what she had envisioned. Tired, run down, spends most of her time alone.

Still friends with Kailyn (male Katelyn) - who tries to set her up ocassionally (like he sends her on a blind date but Aaron is more interested in the exy game playing in the bar. “You kind of look like Andrew Minyard.” “Oh, you’re never going to believe this, actually.”)

She and Kevin had a THING during Kevin’s last year at Palmetto. It only lasted a few months, and Aaron thought it was something solid - because she doesn’t do casual. She’s not romantically attracted to people unless she has a bond, so by the time she’s interested in someone it already feels serious for her - but she was afraid of ruining it by talking about what they were. Which backfired when Kevin was like this has been fun, but you must have known we could never… my career. Etc etc

So Aaron’s heartbroken, but as if she’s going to show Kevin that 🙄 she just gets really cold and standoffish with her. Does her absolute best to avoid her at all costs. Which is fine most of the time, she only really sees Kev on holidays. The first few years at medschool when they gather back in Palmetto for Christmas, Aaron just makes sure someone is always between them, that she’s never left alone with her. Then once she starts residency and working at the hospital, she volunteers for every holiday. Says it’s because she’d rather her coworkers with families have the time off. Spend it with their kids. Aaron has no one, who is gonna miss her, right? She might as well be working.

But she’s fucking haunted by Kevin constantly. Of course. She’s the fucking queen of exy. Once she went pro, her celebrity status only shot up. Aaron’s always seeing her on magazines in the grocery store, popping up on the television in the hospital waiting room, on fucking posters and billboards - she’s not even spared online, getting stupid sports ads that Kevin’s modelling for (and god, she looks hot, and fuck, Aaron hates that, because she definitely looks worse than college. She doesn’t sleep enough, she doesn’t eat as well as she should, she’s always stressed, always tired, doesn’t have the time and energy to exercise as often as she’d like. She’s gotten a lot softer around the middle, and she’s starting to get all kind of lines around her eyes. Fuck Kevin Day for aging like fine wine. That absolute bitch)

Not to mention Kevin was a great lay. No one has ever lived up to her. Aaron’s few attempts at relationships have paled in comparison, and she can’t help but compare everyone to her.

Then Kevin’s team are playing a game against Chicago in the city and she gets in touch to invite Aaron. Aaron doesn’t really want to go, but Kevin got Andrew to ask if she was working first so she can’t fucking even lie. Then Kevin wants to catch up afterwards, and this is bad, and even Kailyn is like are you sure it’s a good idea to go for drinks with your ex. As if he is not also her ex, but he’s different, because he didn’t purposefully treat Aaron like she was nothing. Like she was just a pastime while he was waiting for his real life to begin, like fucking Kevin Day did.

But what, like she’s going to act afraid of her and run and hide again? Fuck that. So she gets dressed up nice - well, as nice as she gets. She’s broke and none of her clothes fit as well as they used to and like ugh fuck everything (Kevin is salivating over her curves but Aaron does not know that) - and she goes to meet Kevin, and she maybe goes a bit hard on drinks to start. Liquid courage. Except then she’s not drinking. She’s talking, and dancing, and she’s fairly sobered up by the time Kevin kisses her but she pretends that maybe she’s not, and then maybe she can blame how bad a decision this is on being drunk.

She keeps telling herself that as she ends up in a cab with Kevin, and then a hotel elevator, and then spread on her bed. Okay. One more time. Just for old times sake. It’s fine. Aaron knows what it is this time. She can do casual.

Kevin had kissed her, tipsy on alcohol, high on emotion, painted by the neon lights of Eden’s. It should have been more surprising than it was. They had been circling each other for a while. Kevin seeking Aaron out more often, both of them more brazen in their casual touches, and it wasn’t their first night at Eden’s dancing in each other’s space. Kevin’s hands on her hips, the scent of her perfume clouding around Aaron, her breath warm against her cheek. More than once they’d come so close that Aaron had been convinced they were going to kiss, but it was always a tease with no follow through. She had assumed Kevin would never act on it, not wanting to sully her reputation with a queer relationship. Which was. Whatever. Easier for Aaron, anyway. Easier just to date men. Easier not to get attached to someone who was going to the other side of the country. Easier all around.

Until Kevin’s lips finally pressed against hers, and Aaron stopped giving a fuck about what might be easier.

They were tucked towards the edge of the floor, well out of sight from any of their group. Kevin’s mouth had tasted like vodka cranberry. She clutched at Aaron’s waist with one hand, cupped her head with the other, and kissed her like this might be the only chance and she wanted to make the most of it. They were both breathless and flushed when they drew apart, glassy eyed and panting, staring at each other for a long moment before they broke into laughter.

“Come to my room tonight,” Aaron told her when they were leaving. “When everyone’s gone to bed.”

And Kevin did. They didn’t even have sex their first night together, just made out tangled up in each other. Kevin did grind herself against Aaron’s thigh, so wet she’d soaked through her underwear. But when her hand went for the hem of Aaron’s shirt, Aaron stopped her. Even though she was slick and throbbing with arousal herself.

“Not like this. I don’t want to be drunk for it… but I, uhm. I can get you off. If you want.”

“It’s okay.” Kevin cupped her cheek, their breath mingling between them.

“You’re really wet.”

“Yeah.” Kevin smiled. “You’re really hot.”

Aaron flushed terribly at that, but her stomach had felt all giddy and light.

“But that doesn’t mean you have to do anything about it. I want you to want it, and I want it to be together. I can wait.”

Kevin smiled, and Aaron didn’t know what to say to that, so she just kissed her again. Kevin’s hands were constantly moving, caressing and gripping all over her body, but she made no efforts to remove any of Aaron’s clothes. Only as their kisses got lazier, more languid and sleepy as they slid closer to drifting off, did Kevin slip her hands under Aaron’s shirt to rub the pleasant heat of her palms up and down her back. Aaron fell asleep warm and satisfied.

Surprisingly, Aragorn knew absolutely nothing about your relationship with Gandalf. While Gandalf is generally a rather private person, you’d think a ranger – a friend, no less – would’ve picked up on the little clues of yours. It is needless to say though that Aragorn would accept you quickly and with a big grin. Anyone who is with his old friend Gandalf is trustworthy to him as well!

･ﾟ✧ Boromir.

Realisation would dawn on Boromir very, very slowly. Once he understood that the new companion was, indeed, the spouse of Gandalf the Grey, he’d fall silent for a few days at least, maybe give a nervous smile or so. He has immense respect for you, perhaps is even a bit afraid. Someone as powerful as Gandalf would have a partner that is just as mighty. It takes him time to accept that you are just as friendly as your husband, too.

･ﾟ✧ Frodo.

While surprised, Frodo would be absolutely charmed to meet you. Gandalf is an old friend of the family, after all. Frodo would treat you just like that, though he would not immediately trust you as much as Gandalf (which, granted, is a whole lot of trust – hard to live up to!). He’d show great interest in who you are, what you do, etc. He would also tease your husband about how long he had kept you a secret and, depending on how said secret was lifted, that he wasn’t able to keep you hidden forever.

･ﾟ✧ Gimli.

I think much of Gimli’s view of Gandalf would change once he met his spouse. He’d be curious about who you are, where you came from, and how the two of you met. He’d probably try and find quiet moments to shower you in questions. Since he is such a fan of partnership and a little romantic himself, Gimli would encourage the two of you to be more open about your relationship. And since he’s also so mischievous, he’d definitely put you in a ‘stuck in a closet together’-sort of situation! His enthusiasm gives your relationship to Gandalf a whole new spark ♡

･ﾟ✧ Legolas.

Legolas would weigh his reaction depending on how his Fellowship reacts to finally meeting you, with a healthy dose of care and caution at first. It never would’ve crossed his mind that Gandalf would be in a romantic partnership. But because of Legolas’ easy companionship and friendly demeanour, you two would quickly form a bond. Maybe he’d ask you about stories he heard of Gandalf, wanting your confirmation on whether or not they were true – and if you had anything to do with them, of course!

･ﾟ✧ Merry.

Though surprised to meet you, Merry understands perfectly why Gandalf would’ve kept your relationship a secret. It is dangerous, being with a powerful creature such as him. He’d be very polite around you, almost uncharacteristically so. He wants to get to know you better, testing the waters, so to speak, before he dives in more meaningful conversations.

･ﾟ✧ Pippin.

Pippin would initially feel a bit betrayed, I think. How could Gandalf, such an old friend of the Hobbits, keep such a secret to himself? Over time, he would understand the reasons as they are presented to him, be it against danger or simply for privacy’s sake. If Pippin had any negative feelings about how this unfolded, none of them are directed against you. On the contrary, the playful Hobbit gets along with you very well! Part of the reason might be that Gandalf doesn’t call him a fool when you’re around, but that remains to be seen once you join Pippin in the little pranks he likes to plan…

･ﾟ✧ Sam.

Maybe you wouldn’t be such a surprise at all to Sam! Somehow, he’d just always assumed that Gandalf must have someone, because that is his flowery worldview. He’d congratulate the two of you for having such a wonderful partner to call your own. He’s so charmed by your sweet relationship that he’d have to be reminded to not go tell the world about it! Sam is also the perfect person to craft the most elaborate flower gifts with you, so that you always have the right present for any occasion – even if you and Gandalf aren’t keen on presents.

･ﾟ✧ Bonus: Faramir.

Being Gandalf’s pupil, Faramir has spent a lot of time with your husband. However, learning of his mentor’s spouse came as quite a shock to him. It is needless to say he’d carry your secret to his grave if he was asked to, because he would not want either of you in danger because of him. He would be extremely respectful and gentle toward you, as he always is. He’d sometimes ask your opinion of something he learned from Gandalf, or small talk when he sees you, but overall, he’d keep your friendship almost professional. That said, he is really happy for his mentor to have such a wonderful partner and always happy when he gets the chance to meet you.

･ﾟ✧ Bonus Bonus Headcanons.

Though not 100% lore accurate, I like to imagine Gandalf with someone just as ancient as him, a fellow “wizard/witch” who he can confide in. Two Istari living their best lives!

Alternatively, I also love to think of him as the magical adviser to a kingdom, where he eventually becomes the secret partner of the lonely ruler who would go through fire and water for their old wizard.

Anything with Gandalf is all the “old married couple” sweetness you can think of: sincere terms of endearment, gentle and not-so-gentle bickering alike, knowing the other inside and out etc.

You could spend hours in silence with him and never get uncomfortable.

Gandalf is a very playful partner. He’d be the type to pretend he forgot your anniversary/birthday/name day when in reality, he has an entire party/special date planned just for you!

Xenophilius Septimus Malfoy was born November 13, 1960 (making him a Scorpio) the second son of Abraxas Malfoy and the only son of Hestia Malfoy (I'm thinking she might be née Ollivander but I'm not sure if I still like that headcanon,,,). He is the younger half-brother of Lucius Malfoy with a seven-year age gap. His middle name comes from his paternal ancestor Septimus Malfoy and NOT the Weasley jfnjbgnjb

I've got another lovely ask waiting where I'll go into detail about what he was like as a kid but generally speaking, I think he was a really happy kid. His mum was a sweetheart and while I don't think he was necessarily a mummy's boy in the same way other characters are cough Edmund cough Gilderoy cough James cough Remus cough Peter cough cough etc cough, he definitely had a very doting mother growing up. He idolised his older brother despite him wanting nothing to do with him and he bonded with his father about being really into herbology.

I think Abraxas showed his interest in his younger son by gifting him artefacts, various magical plants and just about any other odd thing his son might have been interested in. Some of this was with Hestia's encouragement because she wanted them to be close but I think they both had a natural interest in Herbology. Xenophilius had a whole stash of rare and expensive magical plants while at Hogwarts, most of which were either given before his departure or sent via owl to him. Xenophilius has always been curious about plants and I would not be surprised if he managed to find some plants that were especially fun to smoke. I keep laughing my ass off at the thought of Abraxas Malfoy being his son's unintentional Magical weed dealer lmaooo

He was sorted into Ravenclaw and luckily for Lucius they never had any overlapping years. He shared a dorm with Barty Crouch Jr, Edgar Bones and two other Ravenclaws. His best subjects were Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures and Charms. I think he enjoyed Ancient Runes but I don't think he was necessarily the best at them. I like the idea of there being a Hogwarts Journalism Club and he was definitely a part of the team like come on!!!

People mention him dressing in a quite eccentric way and while I think some of it is simple because he's a Malfoy and they dress kinda fun and cunty and wizard-y on their own,, but he's noted as being a lot even for wizard standards. I just think he loves colours tbh and anything fun,,,, his and Pandora's house is full of paintings all more or less handmade all directly on the wall. They're giving Ellie and Carl with the handprints on the mailbox to me

It's specifically noted in his wiki that he falls in love in the Clock Tower Courtyard which only adds to my thoughts that he's quite the romantic. He saw Pandora in that courtyard and he was struck by Cupid vjfnbjgnbjg. Speaking of him and Pandora I think they wore yellow at their wedding. Xenophilius specifically states at Bill and Fleur's wedding that warm/gold colours are for weddings and I think him and his wife honoured that at their own wedding.

I have many many thoughts on the fact that Xenophilius loves as deeply as he does. He's always been a soft soul, he's the gentler half of him and Pandora and you can see this in the way he acts when it comes to his family. He left behind the Malfoy name and created a new name based on the love (Lovegood) he shared with his wife. Even though he was the biggest family person he put his values above that. I've always thought Pandora was more neutral about the whole Death Eater thing. I know, I know unpopular opinion she's not a soft flower girl all the time but that's because Xenophilius is!!! Pandora remained neutral because as much as there were things she didn't agree with, these people also allowed her to conduct her nutcase experiments in peace and other than Xenophilius that was really all she cared about.

Xenophilius's whole life was his wife, later his daughter (he canonically calls her "My Luna") and his work. When he lost his wife he lost half of his world to the point where he struggled to take care of what remained. He was less strict than Pandora was and I think Pandora was stuck with some of the etiquette stuff/stuff about looking clean and presentable all the time that just went completely out of the window when she died, which is why Hari notes that Luna looks so different from when her mum to care of her to when Xenophilius is doing it on his own.

I think taking Luna for ransom was the one kindness Lucius ever showed his brother. They could have killed her and taken away the last of his spark because I fully believe that Luna dying would have caused that man to give up on everything. Lucius is just as much of a family man as Xenophilius is and he took pity on the man. I know there were multiple hostages kept at Malfoy Manor but like??? Just consider it in the context of Xenophilius being a Malfoy.

This covers older Phil a bit more but nvfjbngjb idk I just think he's neat, I'll definitely ramble about him again sometime!!!

Explaining my aromantic headcanons (Otacon and Quiet edition), thank you for asking about it @counterfeitubiquity :)

I just think it makes sense with Otacon's love history honestly. The reason he gives for loving Sniper Wolf was her liking dogs and being nice to him for two seconds (they presumably barely ever talked). Same with Naomi, how much have they actually interacted, exactly? (Also it seemed like he literally had no interest in her and was trying his best to ignore any of her advances and was UNCOMFORTABLE about it from where I looked and I FELT that. I dunno, maybe it was just me but when I saw it I was like. yeah man I get that.) It all feels really forced and performative because it is typical mgs writing of a straight romance yes, but looking at it through an aromantic (or generally queer) lense also explains so much. He thinks he is *supposed* to like them, because that's what he has been taught. They're beautiful, they're nice to him, that means they should be together. He wants to fit in and feel understood and loved, and I'm sure his trauma plays into his ideas of how that love should look (that it SHOULD be romantic/sexual, that he NEEDS romance instead of a familial bond or a friend etc), but I don't think I'm the best person to properly dive into that.

Quiet is definitely more of a "I just feel like it because it's a biggest fuck you" type of headcanon. I mean, her being supposedly in love with Venom is sort of a whole fucking mess. The idea that she loves him is based entirely on assumptions of the people around her, who know literally nothing about her as a person. WE barely know anything about her too. I presume that she had a relatively normal life before being burnt, without any of the parasite bullshit, and you're telling me now she just goes around being a plant and falling for people like she's not a literal prisoner who had been torn away from everything that she knows?? She is not herself anymore, she is not human, she is infected with a deadly virus, and that's NOT what we are focusing on?? I LOVE that she has a soft spot for Venom and I love that they have a bond and in the end she chose to protect his life over her own. But give her some agency and story that is not tied to romance, dammit (honestly aside from that one line from Ocelot I'd say that they almost DID. not tie it to romance that is, not the agency). I just think it would be interesting if we took this overly-sexualized woman in a bikini and made her aroace. that's awesome.

2023 has been a year to say the least so lets get into this 😂. As usual this is in no particular order cause I cant handle putting these into a proper order.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬:

1. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐂𝐚𝐟𝐞 (2022).

I watched this on a whim and boy am I glad I did. The female lead is so unhinged but in the best way and our main guy is so in love with her I cant. Literally this drama was such a fun time and everything connected together so well. Just watch this drama pls.

2. 𝐁𝐨 𝐑𝐚! 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐡 {𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞} (2023).

Yoo In Na shines and I love the character growth that both the leads go through, everything that happens makes sense and it really does show that working on yourself isnt a linear process. There will be set backs but you can over come them. I tend to not care for side couples but I loved all of them in this, they were just hilarious or adorable.

3. 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧 (2023).

I wasnt going to watch this drama but thankfully instagram reels made me interested enough to give this a chance. I love all 4 of the leads, they are my babies and they deserve all the happiness in the world.

4. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐅𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮 (2023).

This was such a cute, fun drama. I didnt expect to love it as much as I did, the family dynamics, friendships, everything was so well done and the 2 couples were the cutest.

5. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 (2023).

Literally Instagram reels made me watch this and I do not regret it. The melodrama, romance, revenge, plot twists... Everything was such a wild ride, I recommend that everyone watches it.

Honestly I was just seeing too many funny reels about SVT and then I watched the Game Caterers videos without even knowing all of their names and Super was everywhere that I just fell into the rabbit hole that is Seventeen.

2. 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 ~ 𝐉𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐨.

My bias came and she ate. I love this song and it showed in my top 2023 songs its at number 6... The top 5 are all Taylor obviously.

He came and took over the world. Nothing more to say about that.

4. Managed to travel and have such great experiences.

Been getting back into Supergirl recently, which means I’ve been getting back into Brainia, which means I’ve been thinking more about my Naltorian headcanons.

This is one I’ve just kind of had in the back of my head for a while. It’s not really a mannerism as much as it’s just me rocking a sort of soulmate-adjacent concept because I love those.

Naltorians are a species that mates for life in a very literal sense. They can only form romantic bonds one time in their life. They can bond to multiple partners in the case of polyamory, but in cases like this the entire polycule has to meet each other before any romantic bonding takes place and all bonds will form at the same time. Once it’s done, it’s done. There will be no more partners, ever.

Naltorians tend to be very protective of their partners and proactive in upkeeping and maintaining their relationships, as they know there won’t be another chance if they lose this one. Generally, they don’t have to worry about breakups outside of extreme circumstances. They don’t ever want to be without their partners, so it’s very rare for a Naltorian to voluntarily end a relationship.

When a Naltorian bonds to a member of another species, though, that can get a little messy. Imagine Nia, knowing full well that Brainy is her one and only even in the earliest stages, dealing with that breakup. Imagine Brainy, being very aware of how Naltorian romantic bonds work, dying of guilt that entire time because he knows exactly what he’s doing to her. Imagine the added dismay when Brainy has to go off to the future without her, because they both know she is never going to be able to move on or find someone else.

On a less angsty note, I don’t know exactly how voluntary the bonding itself is, but a Naltorian will always bond to someone who is compatible and makes them feel safe and valued. Brainy would be very honored to know that not only does he meet the criteria, but he does so more than anyone else in the world. He would treasure that.

I also just think it’s a little fun to have Brainy very familiar with the motions of a romantic relationship but not at all with true emotional intimacy with a person he loves, while Nia is the exact opposite. She knows a lot about the closeness the bond entails and the commitment it requires, but maybe not so much about the little things in a relationship because she’s never been in one before. Getting together is a learning curve for both of them.

Ohhh I like this, and also yes that did kill me with the angst factor because of my god Brainy realising what he'd be putting Nia through during the break-up is just devastating to think about. Even more-so when he leaves for the future. Honestly, that being the reason he comes back would definitely be a better explanation than what we got. 😅

But I kinda want to add my own spin on this idea if you'll allow me. Because what if it's a little different for the Dreamer of a family? Nia's mother had a dream of where she had to go to find her husband, so what if that's the standard for finding your soulmate if you have the Sight? What if Nia didn't think it would apply to her, she's trying to convince herself she won't get the Sight and in doing so she rejects a lot of Naltorian customs along the way. Maybe she doesn't even think the whole soulmate thing applies to her either as she's half human, so she does dabble in the dating world but never falls for anyone, or it never feels just right.

And then maybe one day she wakes from a dream that she plays off as nothing, just like any other visions she's had along the way. She pushes it back, so far that when she first sees Brainy it doesn't even register fully that he seems familiar to her somehow, but she does know that this feels different. That something here is worth pursuing, worth fighting for.

Maybe she has the dream again a couple of nights later and it clicks into place, but because she's still trying to avoid her powers it takes her a lot longer to come to terms with what it truly means.

I wonder if you could apply Brainy's foreknowledge of Naltorian customs from Nura to this equation as well. He's so cagey about starting a relationship with her in season 4, but imagine if it was because he was aware of the fact that his residency in that time was only temporary and as much as he was beginning to feel for her, he didn't want to cement himself as her one love if he knew he couldn't be with her forever.

I really like your idea that Nia and Brainy are coming at the relationship from different angles, but also maybe they're actually more similar than they realise. They've both tried their hand at relationships, even if it only ever went as far as physical and never emotional, and so they're both on this new territory where they suddenly have to navigate the very raw feelings they're suddenly experiencing for one another. I also love your idea that Nia at least knows how to deal with that from what she's heard of Naltorian customs and soulmates in the past, but Brainy's got absolutely no frame of reference. Having them learn and work on it all together just sounds so so cute and is also a great doorway for comedy.

Booster Gold headcanons

In one of his time travelling missions, Booster finds a baby in a sort-of cloning facility, he decides he can't leave him there so he takes the baby with him (like he did with Rani)

Rip Hunter takes one look at the baby and, with the most startled look, leaves the room

Booster later finds out that the baby has his DNA

(yes this is baby Rip, but shhhh Booster doesn't know that)

Guess whose DNA the baby also has?

You guessed it! Ted Kord

Well, Ted is dead in this point of the time line so Booster sees the baby as one of the last legacies his best friend left

And so he names him Theodore, Theo for short

Rani is delighted to have a younger sibling and Michelle is excited to have a new nephew to spoil and look after

The three of them (Michael, Rani and Theo) get a place on earth in the 21st century

They have two guest rooms that are in all but name the official rooms for Rip and Michelle when they come over (aka all the time)

Booster still goes on missions with Rip and that serves as basically his job

One time Rip can't hide the excited look on his face when he tells Booster he needs him for a certain mission

His excitement becomes much more clear when the mission ends with Booster saving Ted and flying home with him

They continue their relationship where they left off. They were together romantically before and that still continues but before anything they were and still are each other's best friends which makes their bond and relationship even stronger

Ted immediately falls in love with the kids and they become the family they had never been able to be

Ted is not ashamed to admit he teared up when Michael told him he gave his name to their kid

Michelle is thrilled to finally meet him (the sentiment is mutual) and they become fast friends over their mutual love for pranking and protecting Michael (one does not eliminate the other)

Rip politely greets him, although there's something in the look of his eyes that betray his composed expression. They become friends bonding over their mutual love of science, more specifically physics, and consequently spend a lot of time in their labs working together

Rani gets attached to him rather quickly after spending time with him and seeing how happy he makes 'Mikey'

She also takes to calling him Teddy in no time

Theo also gets attached to him, he loves how Ted (and Michael) play with him, how he comes running whenever he senses something might me wrong and the great hugs he gives when he feels Theo needs one

(Ted is also not ashamed to admit he definitely teared up the first time Theo called him 'Dad')

Amidst all of this, it seems Rip spends less and less time at their house

When they realize this they agree that who seems him first can talk to Rip about it

It's Ted who ends up seeing him first

Rip sorrowfully tells him he didn't wish to impose now that they had their real family, that it's okay, that he understands and doesn't want to inconvenience anybody by making it awkward

Ted, tearing up himself, instinctively brings him into a hug. He assures Rip he's a part of their family and nothing will ever change that, that they'd love if he came back

(Ted ignore how Rip silently shakes in his harms and how the shoulder where Rip rests his head is getting wet with tears)

When they part, Rip still holds on to him and finally says, in a scratchy voice, 'Thank you-', cutting himself off before he finishes his sentence

But Ted is not considered a genius for no reason and looking over Rip he recognizes those blue eyes and auburn hair,- he seems them in both Michael and himself. He seems them in the little kid they have running around the house, and so he realizes how the sentence was to be finished- with the word he has become so familiar with and one of the most important names he ever had the pleasure to be called- 'Dad'
